ch. 27
"THERE'S the serious type, iida tenya. the sleepy type, shinso hitoshi, who you already know. the shy type, tamaki amajiki. the fun type, togata mirio. and finally, you know him too. todoroki shoto, the cold but hot type!", nemuri said.
"mom...did you just—"
"ANYWAYS! two out of the three you already know. take some time and decide who you like best, then let me know, okay?"
before nanako could protest, nemuri left, leaving her, the five guys, and a few others.
"sooooo uhhhhh, welcome to my harem..?", nanako joked.
before nanako could say anything else, tomura pulled nanako out of the main room.
momo walked over to todoroki. "a-are you really g-going to compete with them?", momo shyly asked todoroki.
todoroki didn't answer. instead, he looked away.
"I see. then good luck winning her heart", momo said as she walked out.

"are you seriously going to consider them?!", tomura asked, clearly irritated.
he started scratching his neck, which I stopped by gripping his hand. "stop that. it's not good for your skin, you're already crusty enough".
"tch!" tomura slapped my hand away. "answer my question!"
I sighed at him. "well...who else am I suppose to marry?"
"I'm not like momo. she has you to marry, and who do I have?", I asked, looking down at my feet.
I was met with silence. realizing he wasn't going to say anything, I left with a heavy feeling in my heart.
dabi and toga appeared next to me. I never know where they even come from. 'probably from the bushes', I thought.
"are you okay nanako?", toga asked with a look of concern.
"yeah. I'll be okay", I replied.
"hey, if anything, we're on your side for this", dabi said.
I chuckled. "aren't you suppose to be serving tomura? how're you going to be on my side for this?"
"you're cuter!", toga exclaimed.
"and not a man child", dabi discreetly chimed in.
I laughed. "thanks guys. now, let's go pick out my supposed future husband".

nanako decided that she'd spend a whole day with each of them, at least give them a chance...and give herself one too.
first it was with iida tenya, a knight like midoriya, except his mother is of a countess status.
they spent the morning drinking tea and eating cookies. chatting about his experiences in being a knight and how he admires his older brother.
they then played chess, to which iida won many matches, despite how good nana thought she was.
they ended the night eating dinner together and talking more about books and their common interests in strategizing.
"I hope you had fun princess nanako. I'm sorry if I was too boring", iida said as he was about to leave.
"not at all iida! and please, call me nanako or nana. everyone who's my friend calls me that. and I really enjoyed spending time with you today! however..."
"however your heart is not with me, am I correct? I'm sorry to have assumed but it seems that throughout our date, you zoned out quite a bit", iida said.
"o-oh! I'm sorry for my incompetence on giving you good company. but I suppose you can say I'm trying to see other options...?", I awkwardly explained.
"I see. well in that case, I'd be happy to accompany you whenever. please let me know three to five business days beforehand and we can perhaps work something out".
"of course!! I'm glad to have made a new friend. I'll definitely be seeing you more often", I said while smiling.
iida excused himself, leaving me alone in my chambers. that is, until a knock resonated through my quiet room.
"come in!", I yelled as I laid on my bed, not bothering to get up.
"nanako! how was your date?!", toga asked as dabi walked in right behind her.
"it was...fun", I said, sitting up on my bed.
"didn't sound like it was", dabi responded.
"well...it was great and all...but he's maybe a little too serious??", I said uncertainly.
"well don't fret!! there's the one with the purple hair and eye bags tomorrow right?" toga seemed more excited than I was.
"shinso? he's definitely not interested. he told me to either skip him or that we can nap all day and play with cats", I said, shrugging it off.
"doesn't sound like a bad idea. I'd take on that date", dabi said chuckling lightly.
"oh really? then why don't you go for me then", I teased.
"haha no thanks princess. I don't swing that way".
"mhmmmm", toga hummed.
"toga, I swear to god I'll—"
"OH! look at the time!! gotta go!! see you later nana!!" toga quickly skrted our of my room, leaving me alone with dabi.
"well, that was...eventful?", I awkwardly laughed. "come sit, dabi".
he walked over, sitting next to me on my bed. honestly, he's pretty good looking too. behind all the burnt scars and messy black hair, his turquoise eyes stood out the most to me.
"you know, he cares about you...a lot", dabi started.
"huh?"
"tomura. that crusty man child. surprisingly, he can feel for others too. I always thought he was just a selfish—"
"haha, despite his demanding exterior, there's a kind side to him too. it just takes time to reveal it", I said, interrupting him.
"well damn. I've been with him for years and the longest sentence he's ever said to me was: you stupid burnt piece of shit, dabi!"
I chuckled, laughing along with dabi himself.
"but anyways, my point was that he does care, he just doesn't know yet. give him some time and he'll figure it out".
"how are you so sure? I thought you two didn't get along", I asked.
"I'm not entirely sure how I know either. but he's never shown any affection to others except for you. like when you were gone for two days, he was so irritated, I thought his skin was going to fall off from the amount of scratching", dabi explained as he made a disgusted face.
I only laughed. "is that so?"
dabi nodded. "yeah. so please give him some time. once he figures it out, everything will be set".
I smiled. "why're you helping him? so more rather, why do you care what happens to us?"
"why? probably because you're the first person that truly saw me as a equal...", dabi quietly said.
"really?"
"yeah. you'd be surprised. when I was a kid, my father...he—anyways, trust me. you and that crusty man are meant to be. even though you're way too good for him".
"thanks. and if you ever need anything, let me know dabi. I'll always treat you like an equal", I said while giving him a warm smile.
I patted his hair, ruffling it a bit. catching a small glimpse of red, I brushed it off.
'maybe he dyed it?'
