An explosion is what woke Galina. She jolted awake as the car swerved sharply, her amazing mother turning the wheel furiously. Galina looked over her shoulder, trying to see what the hell was happening through the window of their vehicle. "What the-"
"Hang on, Lina" Natasha says as her voice was surprisingly calm especially in a moment like this. "Old man Ross managed to catch up but I'm gonna get us out of here."
The car made a few sharper turns down the highway before screeching to a half at the road's shoulder. Up ahead, there were vehicles that were parked all across the highway blocking their path. Natasha cursed under her breath as she pulled out a gun, and she clicked off the safety. Before the mother or daughter could say anything, gunfire erupted from down the highway, shattering the windows.
Galina kicked the car door open and crawled out of the guardrail. The slope was so steep Galina was vertically laying on it. Just as she made it over the guardrail, the car had exploded in a ball of orange flame. The young redhead got up taking the opportunity to move down into the woods without getting spotted. In the process she has dislocated her shoulder, and her amazing mother popped it back into its socket, which hurt like a bitch if you ask her.
Three days and too many small towns later they made it to a small city, grabbed some clothes and slipped into a public bathroom to change into new clothes. As the two of them were changing her mother was calling Ross.
"Don't do this." Natasha says, putting her phone to her ear. "Come after me. I mean you're embarrassing yourself, and it looks desperate."
"Well from my vantage point it's the federal fugitive who's desperate." Ross says.
"From my vantage point." Her mother calmly fired back at the man. "It looks like you could use some bed rest." She grabbed a hair elastic and help Galina's braid her hair, to get it out of her face. "What is this, your second triple bypass?"
"I wouldn't worry about me." Ross told her. "We got Barton, we got Wilson, we got the other guy, the incredible shrinking convict, Rogers. You and your daughter got no friends. Where are you gonna go?" Galina gave Ross the finger which earned her a smirk from her mother.
"I have lived a lot of lives before I met you Ross, I'm not as alone as you think I am. You really shouldn't have gone through all this trouble, I'm done." She ended the call and told Galina that it was time for them to leave. The girls then slipped out of the bathroom, outside onto the street, and onto a fishing boat bound for a location farther down the Norwegian coastline.
About halfway to their destination, Natasha dropped her phone into the bay. It was a peaceful, beautiful day on the ocean, with the waves gently lapping the boat, and seagulls calling to each other. When the boat docked, the two grabbed groceries in the small town and then drove off in an old-fashioned van up into the mountains.
About twenty minutes later, they arrived at a small meadow in the midst of a vast pine tree forest. In the middle of the meadow, a decent-sized camper and a cat sat waiting for them. The two approached the camper, inside the camper was a kitchen connected to the corner with two armchairs, a little bathroom and other stuff.
On the queen-sized bed in the bigger room, there was a guy in jeans and a blue jacket laying snoring. Her mom smirked, putting the gun away, and nudged the guy's feet. He jerked awake sitting up. "You're in my bed." Natasha told him as the man jolted awake.
