Third POV
A week Later
With Pandeva's.
Sehdev was a little late to inform them all about it, yet they were able to hide themselves leaving only Sehdev and Nakul in light. Considering that Arjun was known face, Bheema was not very well versed at handling such situation and Yudhishthira would never lie, any circumstance it was.
The rest four hid away as the two younger brothers stayed behind trying not to be caught by the Panchal soldiers for them living on the border of Panchal practically in the middle of the forest.
But when the time is for something to happen, however much you try to prevent it, it always happens. Nothing can change it, No one delay it.
Nakul and Sehdev on the other hand were passed as Brahmin's living in forest, very easily. The soldiers didn't seem to care much.
"Aaj toh bach Gaye." (We were saved today.) Nakul breaths in relief,
"Hmm." Sehdev nods. "Bade hi bodhe kism ke senik the. Na naam puch, na pata. Srif Hume dekha, humara ghar dekha aur chalege." (They all seemed a lot stupid to be honest. Neither did they ask our name nor family. They just looked at us and our house before going away.)
"Haan, woh toh ajeeb tha." (Yes, that was weird.) Nakul agrees completely. "Par Hume use Kya? Dekha nahi unko kisi senik ne bulaya aur wo chalegaye. Kuch aur Hua hoga. Hume Mata aur Bhrata ko dhudna chahhiye, ab!" (But what is it to us? Did you not see that some soldiers called for them and they went away. Something else must have happened. We should go and look for mother and our brothers now!)
"Haan." (Yeah.) Sehdev shakes his head as they head in the direction where their brothers and mother hid.
But they could not find them.
"Kahan Gaye yeh sab?" (Where have they all gone, huh?) Nakul frowns when they are unable to find them.
"Issi jagah toh bola tha unko chupne ko." (We told them to hid here only, right?) Sehdev questions as they look around, behind the trees & the boulders.
"Ab Kya karein?" (What should we do, now?) Nakul questions, asking for opinion of his younger brother.
"Pehle toh, mere hisab se, humein wapas laut jana chahhiye." (First thing, according to me, that we should do is return back.) Sehdev says.
"Hmm, Ho sakta Hai woh wahan Ho ya wahan wapas laut jayein." (Hmm, it may be that they are already there, or may return back in a while.) Nakul nods.
"Par achanak yun yeh sab Gaye kahan?" (But where did they all go so suddenly?) Sehdev mumbles as they walk back to their small hut.
Nakul while walking back looks around trying to identify his brother's foot steps but with the soldiers moving around the soil had footsteps all over, not much could be known from it. The older ones all seemed to have hidden under the new footsteps now formed.
Sehdev on the other hand, decided to enter their hut, it was then it happened.
The gut feeling, he has when he sees something from the future. Instinctively, Sehdev shuts his eyes, waiting to see what future had in store for them.
A hazy picture formed behind his eyes, the picture of a girl? A lady? She seemed to be in a red saree. Another person, again with unclear face stood beside her. She seemed excited about something, while the man not so much?
And with that it ended, slowly the bright light faded off leaving darkness like normal behind Sehdev's eyes. He hastily clutches on the wall on the side of the threshold of their hut. What was this? A vision of future? Why?
He had not been having these since a while now.
At least not since, Bhabhi Ma had come into their lives. So why now? Was it because she was not here to guide them or something?
But what did the vision really mean? A girl(?) dressed in red, looking excited? Were they supposed to save the guy? But he didn't really seemed troubled? So then why was he seeing this? What was this indicating at?
"Bhrata Nikks!?" (Brother Nikks!?) He shrieks.
"Haan Sehdev?" (Yes Sehdev?) Nakul looks up from where he was trying to figure the foot prints out. But a look at his younger brother and he rushes over.
"Main bhavisya dekha." (I saw the future.) He says wide eyed.
"Bhavisya?" (Future?) Nakul frowns. "Itne din baad?" (After such long time?)
"Mujhe lagta Hai ki main kuch bhi nahi dekha kyunki humare saath Bhabhi Ma thi." (I think I did not see anything up until now because we were with Bhabhi Ma until now.) Sehdev voices his thoughts.
"Toh fir aaj Kyun?" (Then why today?) Nakul frowns.
"Kyunki shayad Bhabhi Ma humare saath abhi nahi Hain?" (Maybe because Bhabhi Ma is not with us right now?) Sehdev shrugs.
"Kya dekha tumne?" (What did you see?) Nakul asks.
"Ek aurat thi shayad, laal rang ki saree thi unhone." (There was lady, I think, she was wearing a red- colored saree.) Sehdev narrates. "Bahut khush pratiti Ho rahi thi woh. Aur unke saath ek aadmi bhi thi, main pakka se toh nahi keh sakta par Mujhe aise lag raha tha ki jo bhi Ho raha tha us baat se woh aadmi utna prasn nahi tha jitni woh aurat thi. Ya yeh bhi Ho sakta Hai ki woh aadmi kisi uljhan Mein Ho." (She seemed to be very happy. And there was a man to with her, I cannot say for sure but I felt that whatever was happening, it ... that thing was not really giving the man the happiness the lady was getting. It can also be true that the man was stuck in some confusion.)
Nakul frowns deeply as he listens to it. What were they supposed to do?
"Is samay Kyun?" (Why right now?) Nakul wonders.
"Jab baaki sab kahan hein yeh pata nahi Hain Hume? Kya yeh dono chij ek doosre se sambhadit Hain?" (When we do not know where everyone is? Are these two things related to one another somehow?)
"Kya aap wahi soch rahein Hain jo main soch raha Hun?" (Are you thinking what I am thinking?) Sehdev inquires.
"Yahi na ki Kya woh aadmi humare Bhrata Mein se koi Hain?" (The point that the man could be one of our brothers?) Nakul confirms.
Sehdev takes a deep shaky breath trying to calm himself down.
This all was starting to give him a headache.
What was this new mess?
And why were they being an active part of this stuff?
Draupadi POV
Few Days later
In Panchal.
I love being a princess.
It honestly must be such a headache for those who are not one.
Meh! What is a life for someone who is not a royal family?
Absolutely shit, I suppose.
I don't think I can ever imagine not living as a princess. Truly, I pity people who don't live my way. What is a life if you don't enjoy it, huh?
One thing that I cannot seem to forget of those lowly people is the hermit that I met. He didn't talk much to me. Honestly, he didn't even share his name. But there was just something that drew me to him.
He hides something for once. There is just something that he hides and he must not know how to lie well because he said nothing. At least I suppose that is what it is all about. Or else why did not he say anything?
I sit up straighter, I had to accompany father to his court room today. All of us siblings are here. But what's the point? I am just going to marry a Prince who is supposed to be a king, become a queen and live life off well.
Why do I need to know the workings of the court?
The others may need it, yes. Not me. I was born to queen. Queen of a large place that I cannot remember name off, but whatever that is what I heard from those gossiping maids. Normally I would have thrown them out for gossiping but if they talk good about me, what's the need?
I wonder, when we will able to escape from here?
I have my new ordered dress coming up today. I want to try it as soon as possible. It is what I am born for. To wear good things and look good.
Something else that I heard from those gossiping maids, I am the most beautiful lady they had seen up until now. Of course, that's true too.
I just hope that the dress I gave to be stitched is exactly as I envisioned or else I am going to have to ask father to un- employ the tailor. It was a fairly easy design; he should not have messed it up in any way.
My attention is drawn by the soldier when he drags four figures in the room.
Who are they? What are they doing here? And why is the lady wearing cream? Like where a lively color girl, why such a sad color, huh?
"Yahi char Hain woh log, Maha Raj." (These are the four, king.) The guard says.
None of them are looking up at us sitting.
Ugh! I want to look at their faces.
"Toh aaj kal stri bhi sath aati Hai jasus ke sang." (So, now women also come with these spy's.) Father says.
"Maaf kijiye ga, Maha Raj Dhrupad." (Pardon us, King Dhrupad.) The one who looks the youngest of them speaks. "Lekin aap Hume galat samjh rahein Hain." (But you are mis- understanding us.)
"Acha toh aap jasus nahi Hain?" (Oh, so you are not spies?) Father questions, sarcastically, I could see impatience bubbling in his eyes.
"Hum toh sadhu Hain, Maha Raj." (We are Rishi's, King.) The heaviest looking one says. What kind of Rishi is so big and substantial?
Father gives a short mock laughter.
And suddenly the man standing beside the lady, just in front looks up and our eyes lock with one another's.
Oh My god! He is the Rishi.
The one I have been sending me to look for.
I turn to my father, who was a little away from me.
"Pita Ji!" (Father!) I whisper shriek and he turns to me with raised eyebrow.
"Yeh Rishi wahi Hain jinko main khoj rahi Hun, jinse main mili thi." (He is the Rishi I was searching for, the one I met.)
"Lekin Kyun?" (But why?) he asks.
"Mujhe unse shaadi karni Hai." (I want to marry him.) I tell her.
"Par woh Rishi Hain." (But he is a hermit.) He frowns, he knows that I am destined to be a queen and want to be one to.
I shake my head smirking, "Ji nahi, woh Raj Kumar Yudhishthira Hain, pita ji. Hastinapur ke Yuvraj." (Nope, he is Prince Yudhishthira, father. The crown prince of Hastinapur.)
