Third POV
In Jungle
"I want a small part of your soul, that connects you to Indra and Devi Sachi." Ananya questions once again.
"I want one of your priding skill in return!" This voice declares straight away.
My priding skill? What will that be?
Hmm, what is that one skill I could never use here? And it used to be one of my priding points in the Kaliyuga?
"I know which one skill I will be giving up!" Ananya declares.
"Well then what are you waiting for?" The voice says haughtily.
"Give me the part of soul first!" Ananya argues.
"I will take your complete soul if you do not abide by your own word." The voice warns her. And Ananya nods in understanding.
"Very Well!" A part of the soul finds its way in her hands, just as Ananya gives away her skill to play a Violin.
Seeing the interest, she had in music since she was a kid, she had been taught a lot of instruments to play, Violin being one of them.
And thus, once again she pushed the part of soul, somehow trapped in her hands, in to Yudhishthira's body. He was returning to his original color now.
And on the other hand, Ananya felt stars shining behind her eyes. She was tired. A hell lot of tired.
Ignoring the looks Karn was sending her, she turned to Nakul, the next one in line to borrow a part of soul from and repeated the same gesture.
The voice that greeted her this time was full on mischievous and teasing, "Greetings, Lady!"
"Hello!" Ananya smiles, a little relaxed.
"What can this knight do for such a beautiful princess?" The voice inquires.
"I am married." Ananya quips, wryly. Before continuing, "I am here to ask you for a part of your soul, the part that is connected to Devi Sachi and Lord Indra."
"What you ask for requires a payment in return, lady!" The voice replies.
"And what is that?" Ananya raises an eyebrow.
She could hear the smirk in the voice, "Memory of your most delightful day."
I remember that two- day, one night camp I had at my college. It was so fun!
"I have the memory ready." Ananya declares.
Suddenly, Ananya had the part of the soul in her hand and her memory gone.
Ananya decided to think about it later, rather she pushes the soul part in her brother- in- law, Yudhishthira's body.
This time she was drained of her power too much. She was breathing hard, very hard and had bent forward due to being tired.
But that did not stop her, rather she turned to the last brother, Sehdev. And called for his soul in front of her. Wanting to get this all done.
"Hullo lady!"
"Hi!" Ananya greets, though she was losing her breath, she tried to keep her breathing as steady as possible, "I need a part of your soul that associates with Devi Sachi and Lord Indra!"
"Well, then lady, to take that you will have to give up knowledge of something." The soul responds. His voice held a power of knowledge in them.
Give up knowledge of something? But what?
What knowledge will I never use here?
A language.
A foreign language. That is what I will give up.
"I have the thing ready!" Ananya says and then mentally face palms at how weird that sounded.
The soul voice did not say anything, rather just like it happened with Nakul, the knowledge she had about German language was gone and the piece of soul was in her hand.
Without wasting any time, she placed her hand on Yudhishthira's head and the soul was absorbed.
Before Ananya could react any way the forest and people around her all came alive. The brothers were looking at Ananya and Yudhishthira worried.
Yudhishthira was re- gaining his color, he seemed to have healed a lot.
Abruptly, Ananya felt the world around her was crashing down and darkness surrounded her as she heard her husband call for her and some caught her before her head hit the ground.
Karn watched his wife all along. She seemed to be taking something from the other brothers and pushing them in to Yudhishthira's body. But what?
He did not know that, neither did he know how she was doing it but he let her do it, he trusted her. Plus, he knew that she would tell him about it later.
Nevertheless, he was not expecting her to collapse like that.
She had just taken the 'thing' from Sehdev and put her hand on Yudhishthira's head when he saw that something was wrong with her.
He had just pulled Yudhishthira's head off his lap and that was when she fell like that. He caught her, his hands under her head, protecting it from hitting the ground. From the corner of his eyes, he could see Bheema taking his place but he paid no attention to him.
His brother seemed to be coming back in his shape. So, he could worry about him later, as also, the four brothers could look after Yudhishthira.
Karn picked Ananya up in his arms and turned to the brothers, "Inhe Ma ke paas le chaltein Hain, woh chinta kar rahi hogi." (We need to take them to mom, she must be worrying about us.)
The brother's nod in understanding and Bheema picks his elder brother up as the three make sure that Yudhishthira is safe and the four brothers follow their eldest to where they had been living in the forest, since a while now.
Karn walked at a fast pace heading straight for the house, jumping over any piece of log of trunk that came in way. He had one thing in mind, he needed to lay Ananya down on the makeshift bed they had in their small hut.
Kunti was not expecting Karn to return with an un- conscious Ananya.
She believed in her daughter- in- law. She knew that the girl, however she did could make everything right. So, what happened for her to be in this state?
She stood up from where she sat on the bed she used to use at night and watched with fear clenching her heart as Karn laid his pale wife down.
"Kya Hua isse, Karn?" (What happened to her, Karn?) Kunti questions.
"Mujhe nahi pata Ma, par yeh Yudhishthira ko theek kar rahi thi aur jab Yudhishthira theek hone laga toh isne hosh koh Diya." (I do not know, exactly, but she was healing Yudhishthira, and when Yudhishthira started to look normal, she lost her consciousness.) Karn answers, worried about his wife. Worry was flowing like a harsh river in his words.
"Yudhishthira!" Kunti gasps as she looks at her second son, who now seemed to have regained a lot of color than before. His wounds seemed to have healed too. He was in hell of better state, than what she had seen him before in.
Kunti sat beside Ananya's head and looked down at the girl, who meant her more than the world. "Suyo, Pani le kar aao!" (Suyo, Get me some water!)
In under a minute, Duryodhana had brought water as asked by his mother for his sister- in- law. He was anxious. What had happened back there when he came here with their mother? Why was his Bhabhi Ma in such a state?
Kunti sprinkles some water on Ananya's face but nothing happens. Ananya remains as motionless as before.
"Ma, aap Yudhishthira pe -" (Mom, you should -) Karn begins but is cut off by Kunti.
"Mujhe mat batao, ki Mujhe Kya karna Hai!" (Do not tell me what I need to do and what I do not need to do.) She scolds him as she rubs her daughter's hand and tries to put some warmth in it.
An instinct was telling Karn that this all was going to be of no use to Ananya. They would just need to wait until she would heal. They were helpless here.
Bheema, Nakul and Sehdev had also gathered around where Ananya lay.
How come, healing their brother hurt her so much? What exactly did happen there? Yes, they knew their brother Yudhishthira was in a bad state, but still.
None the less, they hoped that she would be better in no time.
She meant a lot to each one of them in their own different way but still.
Arjun looked at his second eldest brother. The one who had been hurt and was lying right now. He was not completely healed, as he was laid there on the ground, his head on Arjun's lap.
Was he the only one who cared about his brother?
Their brother Yudhishthira had been hurt so bad yet, they all were worried about Ananya Bhabhi?
What was so special about her that even his mother seemed more worried about her rather than his brother?
Was this how a mother's love was supposed to be?
Were all those saying's wrong?
********
How was the update for the day?
Ananya knew how to play violin!
She gave up the memory of her college camp!
She gave up the ability to speak German!
Why did she fall like that?
Karn knows things.
