Ananya POV

It has been few days since; I got a little angry on Mata. I was sad because of it so I had apologized in the evening, Mata had forgiven me.

Yesterday, Karn was revealed as the eldest prince of Hastinapur and people have been gossiping all over the Aryavarta. Even the Dasi's around here are constantly chattering about it.

Right now, Pita ji, Mata and my brothers with me are in the sitting room, Pita Ji called, he said he wanted to have some chat. I am sitting there in middle of big bro and Bhai. I was playing with the ruffle sleeves of my gingham black and white ruffle dress.

"Ananya?"

"Ji, Pita Ji?" (Yes, father.) I look at my father.

"Sab theek hai?" (Is everything alright?) he asks.

"Awashya, pita ji." (Of course, father.) I say confidently.
"Koi bat thi Kya?" (Was there something you wanted to say?)

"Hum tumhare shaadi ki bat kar Rhein Hain." (We are talking about your marriage.) Mata says and I choke on the cherry I had just had.

"Mata!" (Mother!) I scream appalled. "Aise baat, ahistha se bola kar, na." (These kind of thing, must be said slowly, right?)

"Tujhe koi dikat nahi hai?" (You have no problem?) Mata seems surprised.

"Maine aisa kha Kya?" (Did I say that?) I ask.

"Wahi laga Mujhe." (That is what I thought.) She mumbles.

Having two more cherries, I rub my hands together, cross my legs and look up at my parents. "Kon hai, woh?" (Who is he?)

"Karn."

"Main unse shaadi na- ek minute, kon?" (I can't marr- wait who?) I frown.

"Ang- Raj Karn. Kunti Jiji ka sabse bada Putra." (Ang- Raj Karn. Elder sister Kunti's eldest son.) Pita ji says, slowly.

"Oh!" I sit back a little.

"Theek hai. Aap jo karenge, mere hit ke liye hi karenge, na?" (Ok. Whatever you say, you will talk for my benefit only.) I concede.
"Hum man lenge aapki baat." (I will listen to you.)

Beside me, Bhai snorted and disguised it as a cough. I glared at him, before turning back to my parents.

"Achcha laga jaan kar." (Good to know.) Pita ji smiles at me, he walks up to me and pulls me in a hug, kissing the top of my head. I return the hug happily.

"Hum Jiji ko abhi patr likh tein Hain." (I will just go, write the letter to elder sister.) Pita ji smiles, widely. "Aise woh keh rahin thi ki unhone Karn ko nahi bataya, par woh janti hai ki woh shaddi ke liye taiyar hai." (By the way, she was saying that, she hasn't told Karn about the marriage but she knows that he is ready for the marriage.)

"Oh!" I exclaim, as Mata steps ahead and pulls me in a hug. Mumbling on how she loved me, and all. I return the hug with equal vigor.

"Matey, hum thodi der Ananya ke saath bita saktein Hain?" (Mother, can we spend some time with Ananya?) Bhai asks sweetly.

"Zarror." (Why not?) Mata smiles. "Main aapke Pita ke saath Hun. Koi baat Ho to bolna. Theek hai?" (I am with your father. Say if there is something. Ok?)

"Ji Mata." (Yes mother.) I smile at her.

I walked to Bhai's Garden with both of my brothers on my either side. Both of them had a smile on their lips, happy of my decision.

"Congratulations." Big bro says.

"Thanks." I flash him a grin. "Are you happy?"

"You should be happy. Rest doesn't matter." He tells me.

"Of course, it does, you are my brother."

"Fine, little sis. I am very happy." He pulls me in a side hug. "There is nobody better for you."

"I am believing this, because you said it." I warn him and he chuckles.

"of course, you should never believe Kanha, you never know what kind of Khichdi he is cooking." Big bro teases.

"Hey!" Bhai protests. And the two of us giggle.

"Come on bhai, you know we love you." I say and he throws his hands on my shoulder, hugging me from the other side.

"I will die, Karn will lose his fiancée, even before we are really engaged." I complain. But they just laugh it off, dragging me away the rest of the way.

"I hope you are happy, now." Bhai asks.

"Of course, I am. I am going to marry the person I love." I say, in a 'duh' tone.

"Great, now we don't have to see you mop around." Bhai says, dramatically.

"I wasn't mopping around; I was just a little surprised and sad and confused." I conclude, my state.

"Whatever, you say, dear sister." Big bro says as we flock down on different seats present in the garden.

I let myself thinking about things happening around here, I am about to get married. I will be living with Karn always. I involuntarily blush at the sound.
Oh God! I am becoming such a school girl. Seriously, there has gone something wrong with me. I swallow as I feel myself wandering off.

Think to be thought will be that, the marriage here won't be like the one's I have seen and heard about in Kaliyuga. Here things are going to be different. Ways and things will be different. The way of acting and holding myself will differ. I wonder how, I will handle this.

I am curious what he thinks?

How are we going to make it work further?
I mean he is a king and all.

"Holy Shit! I will become the queen of Anga." I scream suddenly. Scaring the crap out of my brothers. Who had been whispering, most probably about my wedding, they jerk and hit their heads together.

"Geez, women." Bhai cringes. "You realized it now?"

"I er... was thinking about other things." I smile sheepishly.

"I got a bloody heart attack. I don't have to die this early." Big bro shrieks.

"Ok big guys. That is enough." I warn them. "It's not like I told you I am pregnant or something."

"That would be the worst thing, in my short life." Bhai says.

"Short?" I question.

"Well, Dau will get a heart attack when you say that and how can I stay away from him?" he asks, a look of pure innocence.

I deadpan him in return as big bro chuckles at our antics.

Suddenly a thought hits me and I smirk, "Imagine, people asking how did the great Shri Krishna and Balram died? And the answer they get is they died when they heard that their sister was pregnant. Ha!"

"Before marriage." Big bro adds, before all of us dissolve in a fit of laughter.

I gain my breath and declare, "And now, as I am thankfully not pregnant, I want a bachelorettes' party."

Say Say?

It seems it was Rani Kunti's idea of keeping it a secret.
