Third POV

"Kyun aapke mama Mahadev nahi Hain?" (Why isn't your maternal uncle, Mahadev?) she raises an eyebrow.

"Haan, Hain." (Yes, he is.) Pitamah nods in understanding. "Main kar lunga." (I will do that) In response Ananya smiles.

"Aur Pitamah, Jahan tak baat logon ke baat karne ki hai" (And Pitamah, till where people's talks are concerned.) Ananya speaks up. "Log kuch toh kahenge, unka kaam hai kehena." (People will always say something, it's their work to talk.)

Pitamah hums, he was delighted to hear what Ananya said. Such intelligence at such a young age.

"Pitamah, humari utdanta ke liye Kshama, lekin Kya hum jan saktein hai ki Kya Hua?" (Pitamah, sorry for my disrespectful act, but can we know what is going on?) Yudhishthira asks.

"Putri Kunti, aapko baat se sajha karengi. Unse yeh baat sunna behtar hoga." (Daughter Kunti, will tell you about it. It will better if she does this.) Pitamah says, nodding at Rani Kunti.
"Hum chaltein hai, Putri Kunti, Gandhari." (I will take your leave, daughter Karn and Gandhari) He looks at them before walking out of the room.

"Hum bhi-" (I will also-)

"Kahin nahi ja Rahe aap, Karn." (You are going nowhere, Karn) Ananya snarls at him.

"Par-" (But-)

"Main nahi sunungi." (I won't hear.) Ananya raises her hand. "Baithiye." (Sit.)

Karn looked like he wanted to protest but one look from her and he sits at the feet of the Queens grumbling.
The six brothers were watching him in shock. They were surprised and confused of what was happening. How were those two so close?

Kunti wasn't in a very nice state, she didn't know what her sons would say and do, being a mother, she was worrying. Her nervousness, wasn't helping.
Sitting at her feet, Karn discreet held her hands, calming her a little.

"Idhaar aao tum sab, Putra." (Come here all of you, sons) Maharani Gandhari calls, understanding Kunti's nervousness.
The princes exchange looks but follow, the order.

"Kya Hua, Mata?" (What happened, mother?) Arjun asks, taking her hand.

Kunti looks at her five sons and one cousin in front of her. What would they say? What will they think? Is she breaking the friendship of Karn and Duryodhana? Was she doing the correct thing?

"Bua" (Aunt) a sharp voice breaks her thought. She looks up at her bhatiji, who has her lips pressed together and eyes showing her exasperation.

"Jitna usse daroge, utna darayega." (If you will feel scared of it, it will make you feel more scared.) Ananya says. "Aap kuch galat nahi kar Rahe Ho." (You aren't doing anything bad.)

"Ek sach.... Janana .... Chahiye tumhe." (You should.... Know...... a truth.) Kunti shutters.

"Bua, ek baar Mein bol kar khatam karo." (Aunt, say it once and get away with it) Ananya suggests.

"Tum sab ka ek bada bhai hai, woh Mujhe tum sab ke hi tarah surya dev se Mila tha. Tab meri shaadi nahi hui thi, toh Maine usse chod Diya tha." (You all have an elder brother, he came to me just like you guys, from Sun God. I wasn't married then, so I left him.)
She takes a breath and articulates. "Woh Bachcha Karn hai." (That kid is Karn.)

Nobody speaks anything, there was a tense silence in the room, you could actually cut it with a spoon. Fear inside Kunti was increasing by every passing second.

Few lone tears fall from her eyes, before she could do anything, Karn wipes them away. "Koi baat nahi, ma. Roiye mat" (No problem, mom. Don't cry.)
Before anybody could say anything, he swiftly walks out of the room. But not before Ananya sees, him wiping few tears.

The six guys are still frozen, they have no idea what to say. They were unaware of the consequence the silence was causing. They were in their own world, lost in thoughts and memories of the time spent with the said man.

Kunti seeing the silence and Karn's walking away, broke her heart. She had been scared of this happening, and that only happened.
A sob broke from her lips and her Jethani, Maharani Gandhari, pulls her in a hug, letting her cry in her embrace.

"Bua Gandhari" (Aunt Gandhari) Ananya called. When Gandhari turns towards her, Ananya spoke something in her ear and Maharani nodded. A moment later, Ananya runs out of the room.

She walks around fast, her head moving in every direction, trying to look for the guy- Karn. He was standing there out in sun, looking at it as if all problems could be burned out of him.
Looking at him, she realized he was crying and sweating profusely. She ran towards him, grabbed his hand and dragged him under the shade of a tree.
She stands in front of him and looking at him silently.

"Kya kuch galat Kiya tha Maine, Mujhe aisi saza Kyun?" (Had I done something bad, why did I get this punishment?) Karn asks in the silence.

"Koi galti nahi hai." (There is nothing wrong.) Ananya answers, wiping his tears away. "Aapko is baat ko manne ke liye ek raat laga tha, unhe thoda samey dein, sab achcha hoga. Meri baat maniye." (You took one night to believe it, give them some time, everything will be fine. Believe me.)

"Main karna chahta Hun, Ananya. Par, dil ek bahut hi nazok chij hai. Woh Bahut jaldi ghabra jata jai." (I want to Ananya. But heart is a very soft thing. It worries a lot.) Karn answers, more tears escaping her eyes.

Ananya polled him close in a hug, his head was resting on her shoulder as he cried his heart out. She softly rubbed his back, in a soothing manner.
She calmed him down, a lot, by the simple rubbing.

"Kshama." (Sorry) Karn whispers looking at the wet patch of cloth.

"Mujhe ek insaan ne kaha, 'Rone so koi Kamjor nahi hota, shakti bhadti hai'" (Once a man told me, 'You don't become weak from crying, you only increase your strength.) Ananya quotes him, from yesterday.
Karn laughs, Believe on Ananya to lessen the tenseness of situation.

"Aaj itni garmi Kyun hai?" (Why is it so hot today?) Ananya asks suddenly.

"Garmi tumhe lag rahi hogi, Mujhe toh nahi lag rahi." (You must be feeling hot, I am not.)

"Dhup ki garmi hai, aapko achi hi lagegi na." (It's the sun's hotness, you will obviously like it.) she said with a deadpan look.

Karn smirks, "Nahi, hum bahut hot phele se hai na, isiliye garmi nahi lag rahi." (Nope, I am already hot, that is why I am not feeling the hotness.) he finishes with a wink.
Ananya blushes at that and shoves his shoulder as he laughs.

"Yahan AC Kyun nahi hai?" (Why is there no AC here?) Ananya wails.

"AC?"

"Hmm, woh ek yantra hai, jiske prayog se aap ek band kamre ko Thanda kar sakte Ho." (hmm, it's a machine that you can use to cool a closed room down.) Ananya explains.

"Wah!" (WOW!) Karn exclaims. Ananya hums again.
