Third POV
The Pandeva's and Kauravas were welcomed with people showering flowers over them and cheering their names. The major names cheered were of the Pandeva's and Duryodhana.
All of these six brothers were beaming and nodding towards the people. They were welcomed by the Royal Family. They happily hugged their family members taking blessing of the elders.
But unconsciously, these six were searching for one face. One girl's face. A specific girl from Kaliyuga. Ananya.
She was nowhere to be seen.
Their another brother, the eldest one, was smirking seeing the six. They were comical, trying to pay attention, when they couldn't.
"Tum sab thak Gaye hoge. Thori der aaram kar lo." (You guys must be tired. Why don't you guys' rest?) Maharani Gandhari suggests.
The princes nodded in agreement.
The royal family dispersed, but the six brothers and Karn lingered around When almost everybody was gone, they all walked towards her room, without saying anything. All of them had same desire, to meet that girl.
They entered her room to find her sitting on a chair near the window, with her back facing them and a book in her hand. They were unsure of what to do, when she spoke up.
"Ab Kya hai, Karn?" (What now, Karn?) They all staggered hearing that. They turned to the said boy, who was about to speak but Ananya continued, before he could say anything.
"Main janti Hun tumhare bhai aa rahein hai, par itni chinta ki koi baat nahi hai." (I know your brothers are returning today, but there is no point in worrying so much.) She says without turning.
Leaving the six brothers surprised.
"Maine kal bhi kaha tha ki woh Kunti Bua-" (I told you yesterday too, they are Kunti Bua's)
"Ananya" Karn says sharply. Making the brothers confused, while Ananya turns around surprised.
"Oh!" she exclaims seeing the six others.
"Kya?" (What?) Arjun asked.
"Are, yeh haina bade bhai ji bane chalene hain itni chinta thi inhe, aapne naye Mitraon ke bade Mein. Mujhe pagal kar Diya tha. Bhagwaan ka lakh lakh shukar hai aap sab aagaye." (Are, this big guy is there na, he was worried about his new friend's safety. Drove me mad. Thanks a ton, to the Lord for your return.) Ananya lies hastily.
The brothers nod, believing the lie and walk in. The five except Yudhishthira, fall on her bed groaning.
"Are!?" Yudhishthira was about to scold his younger brothers when Ananya stopped him.
"Jaane dijiye. Aap sab thak Gaye honge." (Leave it. You all must be tired.) She says shaking her hand in dismissal.
Yudhishthira sat on the bed stretching his legs, while Karn stood there and Ananya beside him.
"Hume shabasi nahi dogi behena?" (Aren't you going to congratulate us, sister?) Duryodhana asks. Lying comfortably between Bheema and Sehdev.
"Jahatak Maine suna aapko toh Pandeva ne chodaya tha? Aap pakde gaye the, huh?" (As far as I am aware, Pandeva's got you released. You had got caught, huh?) she asks.
"Ha!" Bheema laughs.
"Galat baat hai, behena." (Bad thing, sister.) Duryodhana pouts.
"aap bahut achche lag Rahe Ho aaj." (You are looking so good today.) Nakul winks at Ananya. Arjun and Sehdev face- palmed, Yudhishthira had an expression of 'why- me- lord?'.
Ananya was wearing an A- line denim frock that had some flowers on the upper side of both the shoulder.
Beside Ananya Karn tensed, it was known fact that Nakul was the most handsome guy in Aryavarta.
Seeing him tense, Ananya rests her head on his shoulder, "Hume Makhan khane Mein achcha lagta hai, Nakul. Lagane Mein nahi." (I like to eat the butter, Nakul. Not wear it.)
All the brothers burst out laughing, Nakul who was red faced was also laughing.
"Putri?" (Daughter?) a voice called and suddenly Maharani Gandhari and Rani Kunti were entering Ananya's chamber closely followed by Maha Mahim and Maha Mantri.
"Ji Bua?" (Yes, aunt.) she asks, hastily separating herself from Karn.
But a mom's eyes see the most, Kunti had already noted their closeness.
"Tum sab yahan Kya kar Rahe Ho?" (What are you guys doing here?) Maha Mahim raises an eyebrow looking at the brothers who had just returned from a fight.
The brothers had no answer to it, they hurriedly got up from their laid down position.
Maha Mahim didn't fail to observe Duryodhana who looked awfully calm between the Pandeva's. He was stunned to find him here.
"Kya Hua Ka- Mata Ji?" (Kya Hua Ka- Mata ji?) Karn asks, correcting himself swiftly.
"Kuch nahi, Putra. Bas aise hi Putri se baat karni thi." (Nothing, son. We had to talk to our daughter.) Maharani Gandhari says.
"Aiye na, Bua. Bethiye." (Come, aunt. Sit.) Ananya says. "Yeh ladke aise hi Hain, koi kaam ke nahi" (These boys are like this only, no use they have.) She waves them off, walking to the two Queens and pulling them to her bed using their hands.
"Aap bhi baithye Maha Mahim." (You also, have a seat Maha Mahim.) She says, turning to him.
"Pitamah bulao Mujhe Putri." (Call me Pitamah, daughter.) Said before settling on the chair Karn gave him. Ananya smiles at him, nodding.
"Toh?" (So?) she looks between the three elders.
"Hume Putri Kunti ne sach bataya." (Daughter Kunti told us the truth.) He says discreet looking at Karn, who had frozen. A look of realization of crosses Ananya's face, she squeezes her Bua's hand.
The six brothers look confused, unsure of what truth they were talking about. Did they knew about it?
"Bahut hi achchi baat hai." (That is a great news.) Ananya says looking between her Bua and Maha Mahim, a soft smile on her face.
"Par, ab bahut kuch badal jayega." (But now many things will change.) Pitamah says. "Log Kya kahenge? Hume Rajya Sabha Mein batana Hoga." (What will people say? We need to tell the court.) He starts to mutter to himself.
"Ma Durga!" (Oh, mother Durga!) Ananya exclaims rising from her position, she walks to her small temple and picks a cloth folded neatly. She walks back to Pitamah.
"Pitamah, aap apne Nalayak Putroan ko kam dijiye. Aur khud thoda aaram kijiye." (Pitamah, give some of your work to these good for nothing grandsons of yours. And you should yourself rest for some time.) She says kneeling in front of him. "Itna chinta kijiyega toh bache baal bhi safed Ho jayenge." (If you will worry so much, the rest of your hair will also turn white.)
Pitamah looks amusedly at the girl kneeling in front of him, she just called her grandson's good for nothing, "Pehle inhe Nalayak kehti Ho aur fir kaam dene ko bolti Ho?" (First you call them good for nothing and then ask me to give them work?)
"Itne bhi nalayak nahi hai." (They aren't that bad.) She shrugs. And he laughs.
"Aaram nahi kar sakta main. Mujhe bahut kaam hai." (I can't rest. I have a lot of work.) He declares.
"Achcha baba, aaram mat kijiyega. Aapne mama shree ka naam japiyega." (Ok, don't relax. Take the name of your maternal uncle.) She says, raising her hand that had the orange cloth on them.
"Rudhraksha aur mama shree?" (Rudhraksha and maternal uncle?) Pitamah asks.
"Kyun aapke mama Mahadev nahi Hain?" (Why isn't your maternal uncle, Mahadev?) she raises an eyebrow.
"Haan, Hain." (Yes, he is.) Pitamah nods in understanding. "Mainkar lunga." (I will do that) In response Ananya smile
