Title: While You Sleep

Author: ConstanceP

This book is the Winner of the Mystery/Thriller Genre in the Coalition Awards on Inkitt.

This is an interesting mingling of genres. It goes through a metamorphosis from a love story through horror and into suspense with a thrilling finish as the plot proceeds.

The love story of Gwen and Andrew is introduced as they find their dream home. A home they intend to renovate into their forever home. Tragedy strikes when Gwen passes away, only to be tormented in limbo, unable to pass through to peace.

Andrew is left to resolve his grief and finish the renovation, which is key to releasing his only love from her hell. The journey is fraught with emotional pitfalls and ghostly visits with his wife, who is tortured by her own past as she waits for release.

The story is told in a simple descriptive style, with care to draw the emotional investment of the reader. I read it in one sitting, unable to put it down until I scrolled through the last words.

I urge you to give it a read. I'm sure you'll be as captivated as I was.

Title: Unleashed-My War at Home(A Poetry Collection)

Author: @CALOVE

I recently had the pleasure, no wait that isn't the correct word. I recently had time to share a soldier's battle with his memories and training. With the after effects on our warriors, whom we send into unimaginable torment to keep this world safe for the rest of us, this soldier has managed to put his fight into striking poems that wrench the heart.

This collection of poems is worth the read, especially if you have a veteran who is close to you. It brings an insight into the daily struggle to keep training and memory locked down, so they can have the things they fought for.

Each poem documents his struggle against the beast, a metaphor for his life as he fought for ideals and freedom for his country and people. We should never forget how much the military gives in very real costs to their family and friends.

Thank you to the author, @CALOVE on Inkitt for putting your pain into words the rest of us can understand, and perhaps finally know how you suffered for your service.

Title: The Untold Forest

Author: Mayaserana

The Untold Forest is a very fascinating tale that has a native 'tales by moonlight' feeling to it. I loved the narration and how unique each character's voice was.

The author used the different POVs to really push the plot and create, in a very new way, an eye of god narration that gave us insight in everyone's unique perception during a scene.

It gave me chills, at first it started off mellow, like perfect family and all, then Finn happens and everything else booms, along with the forest. And just when you think you've seen it all, Finn shows up again with the most amazing personality, and oh the slow budding romance between Maeve and Hakken, or is it the friendship with Regn? Or the appearance of the ancients? I can't really bask in how much I thoroughly enjoyed this without spoilers, so I'll put a pin in it.

This was a beautiful story, it engaged all of my emotions and I couldn't put it down until I finished. Well done!

Title: Luminous

Author: jeidafei

Luminous is storytelling at its best. The writer's use of exposition and dialogue to push the story was exceptional.

Meya is a beautifully written character, so well written I felt the hurt she felt, especially with being the black sheep and all. The tale's got a bitter-sweet feeling, 5 chapters in and I'm wiping my eyes, especially that scene with her father. The hurt she felt when he said those things, I felt it and that is an amazing skill.

There's a curiosity to know why Meya is green-eyed and what the future holds for her, and what her new life at the Hadden castle will amount to. As upset as I got with Mirram Hild, I loved his POV, it was sarcastic and very enjoyable to read.

There's a symbolism I really liked and that's the categories with Marin topping it and Meya at the very bottom, and how all the Hilds' names start with an 'M'.

The setting and premise are so well done, down to the vivid relationship Meya had with all her siblings and her parents. A masterpiece, this one.
