as i went through the list of celebrities who were coming to my show, i couldn't help but feel incredibly excited. the line-up was impressive, and i couldn't wait to perform in front of such an amazing crowd.
i felt my nerves start to kick in a little as i thought about it, but i pushed them aside, reminding myself that i had worked hard for this moment and i was ready to kill it.
i looked over and saw my opening acts, faye webster and lana del rey walked into my backstage room.
i smiled at them warmly, feeling a wave of excitement rush over me. "hey, hey." i said, greeting them with open arms.
lana walked up to me and gave me a tight hug, "hi kacey!" she said, in a sweet tone.
i hugged her back, feeling a wave of gratitude for her. "hey lana, thanks for coming." i said, still feeling overjoyed to have her here.
then faye gave me a brief hug, her facial expression told me she was excited. "hey, kacey. so pumped for tonight." she said with a smile.
i smiled back at her, grateful that she was here to open for me. "me too, thanks for doing this. both of you." i replied, still feeling a mix of disbelief and excitement that this was actually happening.
lana gave me a kind smile, and put a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "we're honored to be here." she said, her tone genuine.
i looked over and noticed kylie and timothée walking in with stormi. as kylie and timothée entered the room with stormi, i felt a mix of surprise and excitement. i walked over to them, a wide grin on my face.
"hey guys!" i said, greeting them warmly. stormi gave me a shy wave, obviously a little overwhelmed by the chaotic environment.
kylie came over and gave me a hug. "hi, kacey." she said, her tone cheerful. "thanks for having us."
timothée walked up behind her, his usually calm demeanor still intact. "nice to see you again." he said, his voice soft.
"likewise!" i said to him with a smile before i turned to stormi and smiled at her, trying to put her at ease. "hi stormi." i said, crouching down to be at eye level with her. "you excited?"
stormi nodded, her shyness still present but she was clearly excited too. "yeah!" she said, her voice soft but her eyes wide.
i smiled at her response, and on a whim, picked her up. i held her against my hip, looking at her warmly.
stormi giggling, clearly enjoying being picked up. "you're tall..." she said, looking around now that she was at a higher elevation.
i let out a laugh, amused by how wide her eyes were looking around. "yeah, i guess i am." i said, holding her securely.
stormi's shyness started to melt away, a small smile now present on her face. she seemed genuinely excited to be here and be held by me.
i glanced at kylie, giving her an amused look. "she is so cute." i said, gently bouncing stormi a little.
kylie chuckled and nodded with a smile, clearly enjoying her daughter's shy yet happy demeanor. "i know." she said fondly, watching stormi's reaction to being held.
i continued to hold stormi in my arms, enjoying her presence. i could feel the energy in the room rising, the show about to start. i glanced over at faye and lana, noticing how faye was getting ready to go on stage since she was first. i knew it was almost showtime.
a wave of adrenaline and excitement rushed through me as i realized the show was about to begin. i set stormi down on the ground gently, giving her a warm smile.
"have fun out there!" kylie said to us all before grabbing a hold of stormie's hand and walking towards the door.
timothée nodded and followed behind before turning to me, "break a leg!" he said.
i smiled at them as they exited, feeling grateful for their support and well wishes. i turned to lana and faye, the adrenaline pumping through my body. "you guys ready?" i asked with a mix of excitement and nerves.
lana gave me a confident smile and nodded. "born ready." she said, her voice full of energy. faye let out a small laugh and nodded too, clearly feeling ready as well.
i took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment settling in on me. this was it, this was my big moment. "let's do this." i said, my voice both nervous and excited.
faye smiled before she made her way onto the stage.
lana and i waited backstage, listening to the applause and screams from the crowd. faye was doing great, her smooth and captivating voice filling the air.
"she sounds amazing," i said to lana as i danced along to 'thinking about you.'
lana smiled, watching the crowd reaction to faye on the small screen set up backstage. "she really does." she agreed, clearly enjoying the music.
i watched with bated breath as faye finished up her set, feeling a mix of pride and anxious anticipation for my own performance. the crowd's applause filled the air as faye took her final bow and walked backstage.
i gave lana a pat on the back, "you got this." i said softly. "and remember, you're gonna end with 'velvet elvis' and i'll come out and join you for it." i added.
lana smiled at me, a mix of gratitude and excitement in her eyes. "i know, i got this." she said, her voice firm and determined. "and thanks, i can't wait to have you up there with me for that song. it's gonna be amazing."
i nodded, feeling a wave of emotion hit me. this was it, everything was coming together and it was all happening so fast. i took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves as i prepared to step onto the stage.
i looked at faye who was now sitting on the couch, "you sounded beautiful out there. seriously."
faye looked up at me with a grateful smile, her adrenaline clearly still pumping from her performance. "thanks, kacey." she said, her voice a little breathless. "it was so fun out there."
i smiled at her, "are you coming to the afterparty?"
faye nodded, a smile on her face. "oh, absolutely. wouldn't miss it." she said, clearly excited to come hang out.
i beamed at her response, feeling grateful to have her there with me. "awesome!" i said, unable to contain my excitement. "the afterparty is gonna be great."
faye smiled back at me, clearly looking forward to it as well. "can't wait." she said, getting up from the couch. "i'm gonna go find the restroom."
"walk out of here make a right down the hallway and a sharp left and it's on your left." i directed.
faye nodded, committing the instructions to memory. "alright, got it. thanks!" she said before turning and walking out of the room.
i nodded and began to move as lana's performance continued on the small monitor backstage. she was killing it out there, her sultry voice and powerful presence on the stage grabbing the attention of the audience.
i couldn't help but get caught up in the performance, moving to the beats as if i was on stage myself. lana's music was so captivating and i found myself feeling more and more excited for my turn.
as lana's performance continued, the energy backstage was at its peak. everyone was feeling hyped and ready to give their best once they stepped out onto the stage. i could hear the crowd chanting and singing along to every word.
finally, after what felt like an eternity, lana was finishing up her set with 'velvet elvis' meaning it was time for me to join her on stage. i made my way out of the backstage room.
the cheers and applause from the audience as i walked onto the stage was nothing short of overwhelming. i could feel my heart racing as i joined lana in front of the crowd, taking my place next to her.
i glanced over at lana, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. she gave me a small but encouraging smile, clearly excited to have me there on stage with her. i felt a wave of appreciation for her.
i took a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves as lana started singing the first verse of 'velvet elvis.' her voice was hauntingly beautiful, and the words seemed to resonate with the audience.
as we sang together, i could feel the energy from the crowd. they were loving every moment. i closed my eyes for a second, letting the music take over me and letting all the nerves from before melt away.
the crowd was singing along to every word, their voices blending with ours. the energy was electric, and it felt like we were creating magic together. i chanced a glance out at the audience, and what i saw warmed my heart. people of all ages and backgrounds were singing along, completely enthralled by the music.
as the song continued, i could feel the energy from the crowd growing. it was like we were all connected in that moment, all feeling the same emotions and all experiencing the music together. it was truly special.
when the song finally ended, the applause from the crowd was thunderous. it was clear that 'velvet elvis' was a hit, and i couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the response.
"that was 'velvet elvis' everyone." i said as i looked at lana.
lana smiled at me, clearly enjoying the moment just as much as i was. the crowd continued to cheer and applaud, clearly moved by our performance.
i laughed softly into the mic, "can we make some noise for faye webster our first opening act?"
the crowd's response was immediate. they began to clap and cheer loudly for faye, clearly enjoying her set earlier. i could see faye standing offstage, waving awkwardly.
"and what about for miss. lana del rey?" i spoke into the mic as i gestured to the woman standing next to me.
the crowd erupted into applause and cheers. it was clear they loved lana, and i could sense her feeling both grateful and touched by their reaction.
i looked out at the sea of faces in front of me, feeling a mix of gratitude and awe. "thank you all so much for coming out tonight. i'm truly honored to have you here. this wouldn't have been possible without my amazing opening acts, lana and faye. and it definitely wouldn't be possible without you all." the crowd cheered, clearly appreciative of my words. i smiled, feeling overwhelmed by the energy of the moment. "this has been a dream of mine since i was a little girl, and i can't believe it's finally happening." "i hope you all enjoy the rest of the show," i said, trying to hold back the wave of emotions that were threatening to take over. "and please, let's make this the best night ever."
lana hugged me from behind, her arms wrapping around me in a warm embrace. as she hugged me, she leaned in close and whispered in my ear. "you're crushing it out here, kacey. don't doubt yourself for a second."
i felt a wave of gratitude and reassurance wash over me as lana's words sunk in. she had clearly noticed my nervousness earlier backstage and it meant a lot that she took the time to encourage me.
as lana walked off stage, i took a deep breath, suddenly feeling a little exposed without her next to me. the spotlight was now solely on me, and i had to carry the rest of the show.
but as i looked out at the audience, i felt a renewed sense of energy. they were here for me, and i had to give them a performance they wouldn't forget.
the rest of the show seemed to fly by in a blur. i sang, danced, and gave it my all, feeling the adrenaline coursing through my veins. the crowd was loving every moment, singing along and cheering me on. i was now on my last song.
"the next song is a love song..." i began, looking out at the audience. "i know some of you are here with your special someone tonight. so if you're not feeling shy, go ahead and slow dance or give them a little love. it's all good."
the crowd cheered in response, clearly feeling the romantic energy in the air. i smiled, feeling strangely vulnerable for this last song.
i began to sing 'sweet relief.' the music and lyrics flowed through me, speaking of heartache and love. as i sang, i found myself looking into the audience and my eyes landed on callum.
callum was standing near the stage, his eyes fixed on me. his phone was pointing in my direction, clearly recording like so many others in the audience. but what caught my attention was the way he was singing along to the song. his voice was soft and his expression was full of emotion, as if he was really feeling the lyrics.
i chuckled and waved at him and his camera. callum smiled and waved back, his phone still pointing at me capturing every moment. i felt my heart skip a beat at the sight of him singing along.
as i continued singing, i felt like i was performing the song just for him, as if the other people in the audience didn't exist. our eyes would meet every now and then, and it felt like a secret connection between us.
the chemistry between me and callum was obvious to everyone, including the audience. i didn't care if i was supposed to be singing to the crowd, my focus was entirely on him in that moment.
when the song finished, i felt a wave of exhaustion and emotion wash over me. i took one last glance at callum before speaking into the mic.
"do you all think that was a hell of a show? because i do." i said with a small chuckle.
the crowd cheered in agreement, clearly feeling the same way. i couldn't help but smile, feeling an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
i took a few deep breaths, trying to gather my thoughts. the adrenaline from the performance was still coursing through my veins, but i knew i needed to say a few words to close out the night.
"wow...i can't thank you guys enough for coming out tonight." i said into the mic, my voice slightly hoarse from singing so much. "this has been an incredible night, and i feel so grateful to have been able to share my music with you all." i looked at the sea of faces and spoke again, "i see some familiar faces so hello again." i smiled at some of the fans i recognized as well as some celebrities. "i hope you all had a good time tonight." i continued, my heart feeling like it was about to burst. "los angeles, i love you!" i yelled before the confetti blew down. with that, the show had ended. i took a final bow, feeling completely spent but utterly satisfied. i couldn't believe it was over.
backstage i walked to kris who was waiting for me, she put up two fingers, i understood what she meant and i waited two minutes before walking back on stage.
"hi! i'd love to pull a few fans backstage who i saw were really enjoying this concert and new every damn lyric." i said into the mic as many people had left.
the few remaining fans still in the audience cheered, clearly excited at the prospect of being chosen to go backstage. some of them started shouting and raising their hands, desperate to be picked.
i chuckled at their enthusiasm and scanned the audience, trying to decide who to choose. my eyes landed on five fans who stood out to me for their energy and dedication throughout the show.
i pointed to them, beckoning them to come up to the stage. "you five, come on up here." i said into the microphone.
the five fans looked absolutely stunned, clearly in disbelief that they were being chosen. they made their way to the stage, their faces full of excitement and anticipation.
i chuckled and opened my arms for a hug, "hi my loves!" i said, my voice still a bit hoarse.
the fans rushed forward and enveloped me in a group hug. their excitement was absolutely contagious and i found myself laughing amidst the crush of bodies.
"thank you so much for coming out tonight." i said as i pulled away from the hug, my face flushed from the warmth and excitement. "i can't believe you guys knew every single word. it was incredible."
the fans smiled at me, clearly still in disbelief that they were there. one of them spoke up, their voice shaking with excitement. "we've been fans forever, it was a dream come true to see you live!"
i smiled, feeling a wave of gratitude wash over me. "well, i'm glad you all could make it." i patted each of their shoulders affectionately. "you all deserve this chance to go backstage."
the fans were still in shock, but clearly overjoyed at the opportunity i was giving them.
i chuckled again, feeling a mixture of exhaustion and happiness. "alright, let's go backstage, shall we?"
the fans cheered and followed me off the stage. i could see them chatting amongst themselves, giddy with excitement. it was moments like this that made all the hard work and stress worth it.
as we entered backstage, i was suddenly lifted into the air, spun around by a pair of strong arms. i knew immediately it was callum, and i laughed as he set me down gently.
"you killed it out there, babe." he said, his eyes sparkling with pride and adoration. "i could see you stealing glances at me the whole time."
i blushed, feeling a little self conscious. "was it that obvious?" i said, biting my lip.
callum chuckled and leaned down to kiss me on the forehead. "it was definitely obvious." he said, his voice soft. "but i loved every second of it."
"so i gave you a live performance of 'sweet relief,' just like i said i would." i said with a smile.
callum smiled back at me, placing his hands on my hips and pulling me closer to him. "you definitely made good on your promise." he said, his eyes raking over my features. "you looked incredible out there."
i felt a flush of heat creeping up my neck at his words. "i was hoping you were paying attention." i said, a hint of a tease in my voice. i then turned back to my fans and led them to my backstage room.
callum followed us, keeping a respectful distance but never far from my side. the fans were chatting excitedly, clearly still starstruck. as we entered the backstage room, i gestured for them to sit down on the couches.
i spent the next 20 minutes chatting with the fans, answering their questions and taking selfies with them. callum stayed in the background, watching me with a smile on his face.
the fans were clearly over the moon about the experience, showering me with compliments and telling me how much they loved the show. after a while, their time was up and it was time for them to go. i said my goodbyes to them, feeling a warm satisfaction in my chest.
as the last fan left the room, callum and i were left alone. i collapsed onto the couch, feeling the exhaustion hit me all at once. callum chuckled and sat down next to me, putting his arm around my shoulders.
"i have to change into my afterparty outfit." i groaned.
"i don't know how you have the energy to party after that performance." callum said, rubbing my shoulder. "you were amazing out there, but you look like you could fall asleep right here."
i laughed and got up from the couch, walking to my clothes that were set on the table. "i'm changing into sweats." i said whilst putting my index finger to my mouth.
callum chuckled at my response. "so much for the fancy afterparty look?" he said, raising an eyebrow.
i rolled my eyes at him playfully. "i can't go out there in this tight dress anymore. i'm exhausted." i said as i pulled my hair out of the ponytail.
"i wouldn't mind seeing you in that dress for a little longer." callum said, his eyes roaming over me.
i laughed softly and threw my hat at him, "oh shut up!" i said jokingly.
callum caught the hat with ease, setting it down on the couch next to him. "what?" he said, feigning innocence. "i'm just saying i love the view." he smirked.
"bye callum." i said as he got up to give me some privacy.
callum chuckled and stood up from the couch, walking to the door. "i'll be out here, waiting patiently." he said, his eyes lingering on me before he walked out into the hallway.
i quickly stripped out of my tight dress and pulled on a pair of soft grey sweatpants and a black crewneck sweatshirt. as i looked at myself in the mirror, i felt much more comfortable and relaxed. i put on a camo hat to complete the laid back look.
i grabbed everything of mine and walked over to callum who was indeed waiting for me.
as i approached callum, he looked me up and down, taking in my relaxed outfit. "comfy chic." he said with a smile.
i did a 360 and nodded, "i told you."
callum chuckled and shook his head. "you look like you're ready to crash on the couch and watch a movie." he said.
"that's the plan. it may be my party but that doesn't mean i can't fall asleep on the couch." i joked.
callum laughed, clearly amused by my plans to be a party pooper. "so my job is to make sure you stay awake?" he teased.
i nodded. "yes, exactly!"
callum let out a dramatic sigh, as if the task was a huge burden. "oh, the things i do for you." he said, feigning annoyance. i let out a laugh, he paused before speaking again. "you need a leather jacket."
i raised an eyebrow at his suggestion. "a leather jacket?" i said, clearly not understanding what he meant. "you think that will help me stay awake?"
he shook his head and took off his black leather jacket, "it'll look good."
i looked at the jacket in his hand, appreciating the gesture. "you're giving up your jacket for me?"
"of course." he said, smiling. "can't let you get cold." he said as he held the jacket out towards me.
i laughed softly and put it on. "you know it's june, right?"
callum chuckled as i put the jacket on. "like i said, i don't want you getting cold." he said, clearly enjoying the sight of his jacket on me. "besides, a leather jacket is the cherry on top for your comfy, casual look." he added, his eyes roaming over me.
i looked down at myself, taking in the pairing of the over-sized sweatshirt and leather jacket. i couldn't deny it looked good, even if it was completely unnecessary. "well, thank you, baby." i said before placing a soft kiss on his lips.
callum smiled at the kiss, his arm instinctively wrapping around my waist to pull me closer. "anything for you, love." he said, his eyes roaming over me again.
as we walked out of the backstage room, we were immediately met with the sight of fans holding signs and waiting outside the venue, hoping to catch a glimpse of me.
as callum and i walked outside, i immediately started waving and smiling at the fans. they cheered and shouted my name, clearly excited to see me. callum stood a few steps behind me, his eyes scanning the crowd to make sure everything was safe.
we started making our way down the line of fans, stopping every now and then to sign autographs and take pictures. the whole time, callum was watching me closely, making sure no one got too close or overwhelmed me.
i could feel his presence behind me, and it made me feel a sense of security. i kept up the pace, making sure to speak to as many fans as possible. when we finally finished greeting the last group of fans, i turned to callum with a smile.
callum and i continued walking towards the car, callum's hand on the small of my back. as we reached the car, he suddenly stopped and pulled me aside.
"hold on a second." he said, a sly smile on his face. i gave him a curious look, wondering what he was up to.
callum then pulled out a small bouquet of white roses from behind his back, holding them out towards me with a proud grin.
i couldn't help but gasp at the sight of the flowers. "oh my god." i said, clearly touched by the gesture. "you got me flowers?"
"of course i did." callum said, his eyes sparkling with affection. "you did amazing tonight. you deserve them."
i took the flowers from him, bringing them to my nose to inhale the sweet scent. i couldn't help but smile at how thoughtful callum was. "i love you, you know that?"
callum chuckled and wrapped his arm around my shoulders. "i love you too, kacey." he said before pressing a kiss to my temple.
before heading to the afterparty, i handed the leather jacket back to callum and posed for a picture with the flowers in my hands. he quickly snapped a photo, capturing the moment.

HUDSON LOFT
los angeles, california
11pm
we finally arrived at the afterparty venue, a trendy loft in downtown la. the building was lit up with colorful lights, the music already spilling out into the streets.
we stepped out of the car and were immediately greeted by a crowd of paparazzi, their camera flashes making everything seem like a dizzying whirlwind.
callum placed his hand on my lower back and guided me through the crowd, his body shielding me from the intrusive cameras. we finally made it through the throngs of photographers and entered the building.
as we walked into the loft, we were met with the sight of a lively party. the room was packed with people, all dressed up and ready to have a good time. the music was loud and the vibe was electric.
"man do i feel undressed." i said as i looked at callum.
callum chuckled and looked me up and down, clearly appreciating my casual look. "i think you look perfect." he said with a smile.
i looked around at all the familiar faces and smiled. "i attract quite the crowd, huh?"
callum chuckled and pulled me closer to him. "is it really a surprise, love? you're the most talked about pop star in the world. and a jenner." he said, pride in his voice.
"besides," he continued, his eyes roaming over the room. "most of these people are here to see me." he joked, making me roll my eyes at his cocky statement. "besides," he continued, his eyes roaming over the room. "most of these people are here to see me." he joked, making me roll my eyes at his cocky statement.
"austin and barry? yes. my ex? don't think he's here to see you." i said with a laugh as my eyes followed jacob walking through the area.
callum's expression hardened as he saw jacob approaching. he wrapped his arm around my waist tighter, a protective gesture.
we watched as jacob approached, his girlfriend olivia giannulli by his side. she was dressed in a cute little cocktail dress, her eyes widening as she recognized me. "kacey jenner." she breathed, clearly starstruck. "i'm such a huge fan!" she gushed, her excitement evident. jacob chuckled beside her, clearly used to her fangirling.
i smiled at her enthusiasm, feeling a bit sheepish. "thank you so much." i said, appreciating her support. callum stepped forward, his hand still on my waist. "how rude of me...callum meet jacob elordi, my ex and olivia giannulli. i can't remember if you've met jacob." i said to callum.
callum extended his hand to jacob, a polite smile on his face. "good to finally meet you." he said, clearly sizing jacob up.
"likewise." jacob said, shaking callum's hand firmly. his eyes flicked over to me, lingering for a moment before looking away.
callum's arm was still around me, his body tense. i could sense the tension between them, the air thick with an undercurrent of competition. "i hope you both enjoyed the concert." i said.
olivia nodded eagerly. "it was amazing!" she gushed. "you're even more talented in person."
i smiled at her compliment, feeling grateful for the support. "thank you so much." i said, appreciating her kind words.
despite the initial tension, callum seemed to soften a bit as he talked to jacob. the two men started chatting, their conversation lighthearted and friendly. callum's grip on my waist loosened as he talked to jacob, his body seeming to relax. i watched them interact, feeling a bit surprised.
"they seem to be getting along." olivia said in an undertone, clearly observing the interaction as well. i nodded in agreement.
"yeah, they do." i said, unable to hide my surprise. i had never imagined callum would be friendly to any of my exes, especially jacob.
the night went on, the party getting wilder and rowdier as the clock ticked. callum and i had mingled with various guests, making small talk and enjoying the festivities.
around midnight, kendall grabbed my wrist and tugged me towards the restrooms, a sly grin on her face. i chuckled, expecting some kind of sisterly gossip.
when we entered the restroom, kendall quickly closed the door behind us, ensuring we would have privacy. she turned to me, her expression serious. "here put this on," she said as she handed me a blue corset top and jeans.
i raised an eyebrow at the outfit, curious as to why kendall was giving it to me. "what is this for?" i asked, holding the clothes in my hands.
she rolled her eyes, "put on the damn outfit."
I rolled my eyes back, but couldn't help but laugh at her persistence. "fine, fine." i said as i started to change.
i slipped into the blue corset top and jeans, the material feeling tight and clingy on my body. i looked in the mirror, admiring how the outfit accentuated my curves.
"alright, stop checking yourself out and let's go!" she said as she grabbed my previous clothes and opened the bathroom door.
"okay but i need those clothes back!" i said pointing to my clothes in her hands.
she nodded, "yeah, yeah. i promise. now c'mon!"
i chuckled at her impatient tone and followed her out of the bathroom. all of the guests were standing near a table. "what's going on?"
"happy birthday kacey!" everyone yelled in unison, before shouting surprise. i couldn't help but jump a little at the sudden commotion. i looked around, taking in the sight of all my friends and family gathered in one place.
a smile tugged at my lips. "you guys! it's not my birthday!" i exclaimed before walking over to the table.
but sure enough, there was a beautiful white cake with blue designs sitting in the middle of the table, with the words 'happy birthday kacey' written on it in icing. i stifled a laugh, trying to hide my surprise.
as everyone stood around, my eyes drifted to callum as he stood nearby with a proud smile on his face.
"you did this?" i said, looking at him with a mix of surprise and amusement.
callum chuckled and nodded, clearly pleased with himself. "of course i did. i had to do something after i missed your birthday." he said, stepping forward and wrapping his arm around my shoulders.
i smiled as i thought back to london when i got him a birthday cake because i missed his birthday. with a smile i spoke, "well thank you."
"you're welcome, love." callum said, pulling me closer to him. "23 looks astonishingly good on you."
i blushed at his compliment, feeling a wave of affection for him. "thank you." i said, leaning into his embrace.
i looked up at callum, feeling a burst of emotion. i kissed him deeply. the room erupted in applause and cheers, wishing me a happy birthday.
