Here is my 31 word story:

"I was a fool to believe that I could live a life from dream to dream. Yes, a fool to believe in love. Today is a day when dreaming finally ends."

My mind was fixated on a line from a movie that has torn me apart. So forgive me if my story isn't exactly my own words. I couldn't spare my mind from the thoughts.
