Ambrose Vidius, a criminal informant, for Commissioner Gordon. He’s not a well-known CI. Ambrose is only known as a CI to very few people. He’s mostly known as a troubled teen originating from Crime Alley. Ambrose has been providing information to Commissioner Gordon for years now, but he has taken great measures to keep his identity hidden. He has used his troubled past to his advantage, allowing him to connect with criminals on a deeper level, giving him access to information that is not easily obtained.

In Batman's case, CI Ambrose Vidius is called in to provide information when Batman needs it. Otherwise Ambrose only answers to the Commissioner. Information in exchange for staying out of jail. When Commissioner Gordon contacted Ambrose in need of information, Ambrose ended up meeting the Batman for the first time. Along with Spoiler, one of Batman’s many partners. Ambrose quickly realized that the only way to get what he wanted was to cooperate with the Commissioner and Batman, and that Spoiler would be an essential ally in the endeavor. Which led him to eventually become Spoiler’s prettiest problem. Her words, not his.
