𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕔𝕝𝕠𝕦𝕕𝕤 𝕤𝕙𝕚𝕗𝕥𝕖𝕕 slowly to reveal the glowing moon that rested beneath them in a perfect circle. Moonlight slowly grew brighter, illuminating the curls of grey that surrounded it and striking the features of the people below. Everyone's face was contorted with fear, some with confusion. As the soft glow spread across Lupin's pale face, the full moon reflected in his pupils, the man's demeanor changed into something more menacing. There was a resistance, a fight between two different people occurring within him, something (y/n) or anyone for that matter had never seen in him before. His jaw thrashed in a blood thirsty way, his once normal teeth growing to be sharp, threatening to tear skin. Lupin was entranced by the white sphere, his body forcing him to be drawn to it, but his mind making his soul want to crumble under the force.
"Remus, my old friend. Have you taken your potion tonight?" Sirius urged, as he rushed over to his best friend with his prison garments loosely flowing around his body.
As Sirius tries to steady Lupin's thrashing body, a scream of agony leaves the werewolf's lips, a cry for help. "You know the man you truly are, Remus! This heart is where you truly live, this heart!"
Four Gryffindors huddled together in fear, a grown man fighting his own will while his best friend tries to reason with him, a backstabber. All people lost in their own souls.
The DADA professor's agony and suffering only increased, the thrashing only became more violent, causing him to start losing control and drop his wand. Pettigrew took the chance, picking up the wooden wand from the cold grass as his teeth protruded out of his tight lipped smile.
"Expelliarmus!" Harry yelled, disarming the rat and holding his wand out in warning.
Pettigrew appeared unphased, he gave a teasing wave as a evil look clouded his eyes. He began to squirm, clothes becoming loose and features morphing to those of a garden rat. The man successfully changed into his animagus form, escaping the people holding him hostage. Harry started to run after him, but an arm, wrapped around his, stopped him.
"Harry!" (y/n) warned, bringing the boy to a stop with the force of her grasp, bringing him into her as the two clung onto each other for a sense of security. Similar to the ginger and bushy-haired girl that stood next to them.
Lupin's condition worsened, his hands became those of an animal with nails long and sharp enough to replace a knife. A ripping sound filled the cold air as his clothes tore at the seams from the overly large muscles that were morphing on his body. He eventually towered over Sirius, unruly fur replacing his clothing as he threw Harry's godfather into the foliage on the side.
Now standing alone, the werewolf cowered into himself, whimpers of sadness escaping his throat. Hermione was helping Ron stand with his injured leg and Harry held (y/n)'s injured arm, gently leading her away from the madness.
"Wait!" Hermione scolded, giving the two a warning look to stop.
"Hermione!" Ron whispered in fear, Hermione handing him over to Harry so he could stand. Ron on one side of Harry, (y/n) on the other with his arm around her back resting his hand on her arm.
Hermione inched forward slowly, carefully. "Professor?" she asked, the werewolf still whimpering but looking up at the girl. "Professor Lupin."
It was as though, for a moment, the eyes of a kind professor begging for help shined through, but was soon drowned by the poison of the werewolf. Lupin howled loudly, startling the Gryffindors at the change. He was inching closer, the group huddled together, (y/n) engulfed in Harry's arms and Hermione helping Ron not fall. Suddenly, Professor Snape came into view as he stood in front of the third years.
"There you are," he grumbled, whipping around and putting arms in front of the children as the werewolf growled in a threatening manner.
As Lupin inched closer, he slashed at the group causing them to fall over. (y/n) fell right on her broken arm, causing her to scream in agony as Harry protectively hovered near her.
"Will you stop hurting yourself?" Harry whispered, partly joking while most of him was serious as he could only worry about her so much.
"Don't be a smart ass," (y/n) scolded through her clenched jaw.
Right before the DADA professor was about to make another strike, a black dog forcefully crashed into him, causing the two to brawl on the grass. Aggressive growls and whimpers leaked into everyone's ears as the vicious fight broke out in front of them. The animals leapt into the air, jaws locking and snapping, Sirius runs as Lupin chases after him.
"Sirius," Harry whispers, before going after the two.
(y/n) goes to follow him before a hand grabs hers.
"Hermione," (y/n) scoffs as her best friend tries to hold her back.
"It's too dangerous, (y/n)," Hermione says in a almost pleading voice.
"Hermione, please. I know that from what's about to happen I need to be there with him. I'll be ok I promise."
Hermione looks at her best friend for a moment before reluctantly releasing her grasp, (y/n) going after the raven haired boy. (y/n) runs as fast as she could despite the unbearable pain her broken arm was causing her. The mossy ground softly dipped underneath every step her foot made, her hair colliding against her cheeks in a stinging sensation and fear making her heart race faster. Her inner eye wouldn't stop whispering against her eardrums.
it's coming it's coming it's coming, protect Harry Potter
As she arrives to her best friend, he throws a large stone at the werewolf's head, causing him to turn around in anger.
"Harry are you daft?" (y/n) whispers, causing Harry to turn around in shock.
"(y/n)? Wha-" Harry was cut off by the loud growl coming from Lupin as he inched dangerously close to the duo.
The two backed up, hands finding each others in fear that this would be the last time their hearts would beat. There was no remorse in the werewolf, no sign of the understanding professor that resided in the animals body. As the man geared up, ready to strike and convincing the two kids that this was the end, a howl saved them. It sounded almost like a human, but the werewolf fell for it and ran away towards the noise with no hesitation.
Sirius got up in a limping manor, turning back into his true form. He stumbled out of sight, causing Harry and (y/n) to chase after him. The seer felt like to world was collapsing, like she was trapped in a fate she didn't want to be a part of when the duo came to a clearing with a body of water.
The body of water.
Her heart was racing, head was throbbing at the familiar scene. Sirius lay unconscious as Harry rushed over to his side, (y/n) close behind.
"Sirius!" Harry yelled, shaking his godfather with a pain in his voice that showed he was at his breaking point.
He finally had a father figure, someone in his life that wasn't trying to kill him, wasn't abusing him, only wanted and was able to provide the best for him. And he only got to have that for a lousy half an hour before it was taken away from him like every other good thing in his life.
(y/n) wrapped an arm around Harry, the boy reluctantly exposing her to his weakness and true emotions. Harry wasn't a big fan of emotions, or expressing them well at least. He always felt a stir of them inside, but he never learned how to properly express them to someone without feeling too vulnerable , weak, or angry. With (y/n) however, he felt safe. Of course he still struggled with the emotions, but she made it a little easier.
She held him as tears escaped his eyes, muffled cries into her shoulder. The moment was interrupted by a crackling sound. Harry and (y/n) looked up to find the entire pond glazing over with a thick ice. (y/n) knew exactly what was coming, but Harry only had the slightest idea.
The sadness that engulfed them only moments earlier increased as hundreds of Dementors gracefully swarmed the air above them. Their hoods a mask for the creature that hides beneath, their nature a symbol of hopelessness. A hopelessness that (y/n) could easily feel without them.
The Dementors start to dive, removing the little life that Sirius had left by absorbing his soul. Harry let out a blood curdling scream as the Dementors started going after his little ounce of happiness.
"Harry!" (y/n) yelled in a frenzy, her throat tight and threatening for tears to form in her eyes as the boy she couldn't bear to have to live without is being pushed down by the Dementors.
He slightly stands with the little strength he has left, raising his wand as he yells, "Expecto Patronum!"
A weak blanket of silvery light escapes the tip of his wand, fending off two Dementors before fading off. He repeats it over and over again but it was no use. A fog was clouding their vision and making it almost impossible to see each other. One swoops down, making Harry collapse, (y/n) rushing over to him and guardingly draping herself partly over his fragile body.
"He's innocent! You can't take him Sirius Black is innocent!" (y/n) tried and tried but it was no use, she was just screaming into a void with no one listening.
A cold dead hand wrapped around her neck, forcing her head up so it could absorb her energy. A tear slid down her cheek as her body quivered and her mind was swarming and her inner eye no longer served her. The creature slightly choked her while using it's other hand to remove it's black hood.
"No!" she screamed in between sobs as her body was engulfed in fear, anxiety, and immense dread.
In place of eyes there was only thin pieces of grey skin. No other facial features but a black nothingness that was used as a mouth, a mouth that absorbed food, the souls of many. As her soul visibly left her body, her face unrecognizable in the blur of colors, a death rattle pounded in her ears, the sound of her body becoming lifeless in the hands of a Dementor's kiss.
Was this how her story was coming to an end? She barely got to live, barely got to make her mark in the timeline of history. All she felt and did in her lifetime, not noticed by anyone yet. A powerful seer that went to a wizarding school and could predict future events that could change the world. A witch who was unaware of just how great her story could be. Underneath all of that was just your average teenage girl with innocence that gave her hope. A baby that was abandoned, causing her many insecurities. A girl who had a crush on a boy that made her blush just by looking into his eyes, but would never get to see how their story would play out. Just a girl who finds comfort in the universe and the planets and stars it ever so gracefully provides when the world is in darkness. Someone who doesn't know where her purpose is so she writes her fears in the form of letters.
Just...a girl.
(y/n) lays helpless in the grass, as she feels Harry's weak pinkie find her own. The two not knowing if this would be the last time they would get to carry out their inside tradition. As their blurred vision rested on the Dementors, a large light comes into view.
It appeared to be a Patronus. They couldn't make out exactly what it was for sure, but what they did know is that it stood bravely on the other side of the water. A blinding glow spread across the environment, the Dementors screeching in defeat as they fled, the light subsiding to reveal two figures. Sirius gasped for air as life was reintroduced to his body. Knowing that everything was ok, the two Gryffindors closed their eyes and the world faded to nothing.

(y/n) woke up in the hospital wing to Harry gently saying her name while shaking her shoulder. Her eyes shot open as she immediately started apologizing.
"Harry, oh I'm so so sorry. I was supposed to prevent you from getting hurt, I didn't-"
"Hey, hey It's alright. I'm fine besides a few scratches. And anyway, you're the one with the sling around your arm," he said while playing with his jacket zipper.
(y/n) looked around, coming in tune with her senses once again. Ron was laying in the hospital bed next to her, leg wrapped in bandages while elevated on a set of pillows. Her arm felt a little better, tightly wrapped in a sling that was strapped around her shoulder. Hermione grabbed Harry's arm as she looked at him seriously.
"Listen Harry they've captured Sirius. Any minute the Dementors are going to perform the kiss," Hermione looks worried, (y/n) shivers at the thought of the Dementor's kiss she had just experienced.
"You mean they're going to kill him?" Harry says urgently, rushing to his bedside table to retrieve his glasses.
"No it's worse, much worse, they're going to suck out his soul," Hermione's breathing is that of the kind you get when you're anxious.
The grand doors of the hospital wing opened with a large creak that echoed loudly, Dumbledore standing at the entrance.
"Headmaster you've got to stop them, they've got the wrong man!" Hermione whined, as the group stepped before Dumbledore.
"It's true sir, Sirius is innocent," Harry said.
"It's Scabbers who did it," Ron said from his bed.
"Scabbers?" Dumbledore said in fascination.
"He's my right sir. He's not really my rat...well he was a rat, he was my brother Percy's rat. But then they gave him to-"
"Ron the history of 'Scabbers' isn't exactly critical right now," (y/n) laughed.
"The point is, we know the truth. Please believe us," Hermione said pleadingly, eyebrows raised.
"I do, Miss Granger. But I'm sorry to say the word of four thirteen year old wizards will convince few others." Dumbledore walks over to Ron as he continues. "A child's voice, however honest and true, is meaningless," he says as he pats Ron's leg, whimpers of pain coming out of him. "For those who have forgotten how to listen.
A clock chimes, and Dumbledore looks up as if something clicked in his brain. He starts walking towards the door, a certain look on his face. "Mysterious thing, time. Powerful, and when meddled with, dangerous. Sirius Black is in the top most cell of the Dark Tower." Dumbledore turns around abruptly, "You know the laws, Miss Granger. You must not be seen, and you would do well I feel to return before this last chime. If not the consequences are too ghastly to discuss. If you succeed tonight, more than one innocent life may be spared. Three turns should do it."
The group stands confused, as Dumbledore turns to(y/n). "And you may find that you actually have saved someone's life. Yourself doing what actions you thought to be those of a guardian." He turns back around and goes to leave, once more stopping with only his face visible behind the almost closed doors. "Oh by the way, when in doubt I find retracing my steps to be a wise place to start. Good luck," he says in a cheery tone before finally closing the doors.
"What the bloody hell was that all about," Ron says, no one addressing the comment, Hermione being too urgent to give them a chance to.
Hermione tugs the gold chain that's always around her neck lately out of her shirt, to reveal a circular charm at the end of it. It was golden, little star holes scattered across the surface with a tiny hourglass in the middle, a small knob next to it so it can spin. Hermione takes the long chain and rests it so it's around her, Harry, and (y/n).
She turns the knob, three times, and the world suddenly moves in rewind. Blurs of people move all around them going in and out, the room becoming different shades of sunlight and moonlight as days go past.
Hermione stops it, removing the chain from the three of them, as Harry and (y/n) look at each other in confusion in disbelief. The scene around them was completely different than before, different time of day, no one in the room, including Ron.
"What just happened?" Harry asked frightened. "Where's Ron?"
Hermione ignored his question and urgently spoke, "seven thirty, where were wwe at seven thirty?"
"Going to Hagrids I'm pretty sure. Hermione what-" (y/n) was interrupted by Hermione dragging her by the hand.
"Come on, and we can't be seen."
The three were running at full speed the the corridor, "Hermione!" Harry yelled.
They ran past the gears of the large clock, the ticking almost teasing them that the sand in an hourglass was getting finer by the second.
tick tock

To a seer, time was inevitable, time means nothing but a timeline. To (y/n), time meant the chance to find out fix things and uncover secrets.
