Your POV
𝔾𝕖𝕥𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕠𝕗𝕗 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕥𝕣𝕒𝕚𝕟 𝕨𝕖 𝕒𝕝𝕝 𝕤𝕒𝕥 𝕥𝕙𝕣𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙 the usual Sorting Ceremony in the Great Hall, bellies full as we headed to bed. The man on the train, Remus Lupin, was introduced as the new DADA teacher and I couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity looking into his scarred face, like I did on the train. Not being able to shake the feeling that we'd met before.
"Goodnight Harry" I say, trying to be flirty in my tone, but he only replied with a measly goodnight back. The way he held me and made sure I was ok on the train, made me wonder if maybe he felt something too.
I go into the girls dormitory with Hermione and begin unpacking my stuff. As I'm putting the last of my things into the trunk at the base of my bed, I feel the binding of my journal. My journal. I forgot about it in the midst of the hectic past couple of days. Now was definitely a time that I needed to write a letter to the universe. I pull it out of my bag, quietly sitting by the window trying not to wake anyone. I love looking out the window at night, especially while journaling. Just looking at the stars is so comforting and I'm not sure why.
I open my journal, about to start writing and stop before my quill hits the page. Why the hell am I limiting myself to writing by the window? It's not the same experience as being under the stars. Besides, I'm a third year. I know my way around the school, I just can't get caught.
I quietly grab a sweatshirt and softly close the door behind me, making my way down the corridor. I was headed to the Astronomy Tower. I haven't really been there before considering I've never taken the class, but I've always been intrigued by it. I tiptoe through the halls, so far not running into anyone and almost being outside. Shit. Spoke too soon.
I try to blend in with the shadows along the walls as I hear footsteps about to turn the corner. I hold my breathe and close my eyes confident that I'm about to get caught as the footsteps get louder and louder, until they stop. Right in front of me. I open one eye expecting to see a scowling professor in my face, but instead I see nothing. Beyond confused, relief washes over me and I finally let go of the breathe I was holding. I stand there making sure the coast is clear, when I hear a footstep again to my left. I swear I feel a slight breeze, as a shoulder brushed past my own. Startled, I back up trying to see if there's something I'm missing. I clumsily swing my arms around, trying to hit whatever is in my presence. I thought I might have felt a soft cloth against the tip of my finger, but I dismiss it as a breeze.
With a sigh, I cautiously continue my path to the Astronomy Tower, not wanting to actually get caught by staying in the same spot in the open for way to long. I finally make it onto the grounds inhaling the cool fresh air that surrounds me. I can see the Astronomy Tower, but I can't help not dismissing the strange phenomenon I just experienced. Trying to focus in the moment and what I'll write in my journal I erase the thought, taking in the scenery around me. Hogwarts really is an ethereal place. The magical appearance that simply the building possesses makes me feel so at home.
I climb up the tower, ready to have the best journaling experience of my life, also realizing how lame I am considering me journaling alone outside is my idea of a good time. I lean against the balcony looking up at the sky. It's even prettier than I thought it would be, the stars twinkling like they're trying to communicate. There's so much out there beyond, the stars and planets that I see before me having secrets and history of their own that I'm oblivious to, only observing their beauty and mysteriousness.
I open my journal and place it on the railing, finally ready to write my 'letter'.
September 1, 1993
Dear Universe,
I have so much to tell you. I suppose we can start with the facts. My first day of classes as a third year at Hogwarts is tomorrow, which is pretty exciting and I'm still friends with Harry, Ron, and Hermione which is always good news. Ok I'm just going to cut the crap since I know you aren't interested in anything but the juicy details. Speaking of the chosen one, I've come to a realization. I think that I might be developing feelings for the raven haired boy. I noticed it a few days before going to Diagon Alley. I would think of him and my heart would race with the visitation of the occasional butterflies. Even my mom noticed, can you believe that? I'm not sure where this sudden crush came from, but I'm trying to shove it down until it goes away, it's just a silly schoolgirl crush and he doesn't feel the same way. The juiciest secret of all, we faced dementors on the train today. I'm convinced that it was connected to Sirius Black, the killer that escaped from Azkaban and is after Harry. I also feel something is going to be uncovered, and I'm convinced it has something to do with my parents, but I haven't a clue of where I came from. Anyways, that's all that happened in my life today and you can do with it what you want to. Do what you want with my crush on Harry and what I do or don't find out about my biological parents. Harry's life with Sirius Black however, you do not have a choice Harry has to live. No if ands or buts, I need him in my life.
With all my love and positive energy,
~(y/n)
I read over my work, thinking about how silly all of it sounds, when I yet again hear more footsteps. I snap my journal shut, whipping my head around as the footsteps stop. Me once again seeing no one. I begin to grow rather suspicious of this reoccurring phenomenon. I stare intently into the darkness when I see a hand, floating in mid air.
"Who are you? Why are you following me?" I yell, the memory of the dementor attack from earlier sending chills down my spine. I lunge forward, ready to attack the intruder when the hand swiftly rips off a sheet of some sort, revealing Harry Potter, fear and guilt in his eyes.
"Harry?" I say in relief, "What on earth are you doing here? And what were you wearing?"
"(y/n), I didn't mean to scare you. I was just using my invisibility cloak to roam around like I always do, but I saw you in the halls, so here I am." Harry says, a weird tone in his voice.
"Blimey Harry, couldn't you just have revealed yourself in the hallway?" As I speak I notice Harry eyeing my journal, so I quickly hide it behind my back. Him noticing my discomfort, doesn't address it.
"Sorry (y/n), truly. Anyway, what are you doing up here?"
"Oh- um I just like to look at the stars. It comforts me." I state nervously.
"I see. It is quite beautiful up here at night." He says, walking up next to me against the railing. He smells of Pine and cologne, a pleasant combo that I wouldn't mind smelling all the time. He notices my staring and gives me a teasing smirk, nudging me with his elbow.
"Whats the staring about"?
"Hm? Oh um nothing you just have something...in your hair." You have something in your hair? Godric (y/n) you suck at this.
"Oh really?" He runs his hands through his hair, making it appear to have the bed head look even more so than it already did, AKA the cutest thing I've ever seen. God damnit how does he do that.
"Yeah, uh you got it." I give him a small smile, tucking my hair behind my ear.
Harrys POV
I can't help but stare at (y/n). God she's beautiful, the moonlight against her soft features not helping the tossing and turning in my stomach. I can't help but ask myself why these thoughts about her are just now appearing. I might have had a small short crush on her first and second year, but nothing like this. I look at her, noticing her demeanor change.
"What's the matter?" I ask, hoping I didn't freak her out.
"Oh, nothing. Just thinking about the train today." She sounds worried.
"Oh yeah, that was frightening I will admit. Ya know, you scared me there for a good while" I exclaim.
She laughs, "I scared you? Harry you literally passed out from a dementor sucking the soul out of you. I felt so helpless, watching you lay there not knowing what to do, having to watch you suffer. I just-" Her voice breaks, pain in her face. I never knew she felt this way.
"Don't blame yourself for this. It could've been anyone one of us, in fact we all would have just sat there, because that's the only thing you could do in that situation." I try my best to be reassuring, but my attempt fails as she begins to cry.
"I'm sorry." She whispers, crumbling into herself. I had no choice but to bring her into my arms. She cries into my chest, a lavender scent wafting up my nose. We stand there for awhile, feeling the cool breeze against our skin and admiring the sky. Much to my dismay, she pulls away, wiping the tears from her face.
"You alright?" I ask as she nods yes in response, her cheeks glowing a light shade of pink. Was she...blushing? No it couldn't be.
"Well I think it's time we head to bed." She says, a small smile on her face.
"Oh right, sure." We walk back to the Gryffindor common room and say goodnight. As I lay in bed, all I could think was how I wanted to stay awake just to stay up there with her, my night not going as I expected.

Your POV
I wake up the next morning with a smile on my face, which doesn't go unnoticed.
"Why so smiley this morning?" Hermione asks.
"Huh? Oh just excited for our first day is all."
"Me too, I cannot wait to see what our first homework assignment is."
I roll my eyes playfully at the bushy haired girl as we make our way down to breakfast. I wave to the boys giving Harry a knowing smile, to which he awkwardly returns as I sit down.
"Have you guys heard about Hagrid? Apparently he's the new Care of Magical Creatures professor." Hermione informs, all of us perking up immediately upon hearing the news.
"Brilliant," Harry laughs, "at least one of our teachers will have mercy on on us this year."
We laugh as we continue about to our classes.

We enter Divinations, taught by Professor Trelawney and take a seat and once positioned, the lesson begins.
"Welcome my children, in this room you shall explore the noble art of Divination!" Trelawney exclaims, "In this room, you shall discover if you posses the sight." As she stands, she bumps into the table, causing the class to giggle. "Hello, I am Professor Trelawney. Together we shall cast ourselves into the future! This term which will be focusing on tasseography, which is the art of reading tea leaves, so please take the cup of the person sitting opposite of you." Harry and Ron sat across from each other, and Hermione was supposed to be opposite of me, but she is nowhere to be seen.
"What do you see?" Trelawney continues, "The truth lies bedded, like a sentence deep within a book to be read. But first, you must broaden your minds. But first you must look beyond!" She say aggressively, swinging her arm to the side near the sky.
"What a load of rubbish." I hear a voice say, and I turn back around in my seat to see it's Hermione, who seemed to appear out of thin air.
"Where did you come from?" Ron asks, seemingly a little frightened.
"Me? I've been here all this time." Yeah, that was the load of rubbish.
"Oh!" Trelawney directs towards Ron, "Your aura is pulsing dear. Are you in the beyond? I think you are!"
"Sure." Ron responds, his eyes growing wide.
"Look in the cup, tell me what you see."
"Yeah um well, Harry's got sort of a..wonky cross and that's trials and suffering. And uh, that there could be the Sun and that's happiness." He turns to Harry, "So uh, you're gonna suffer...and you're gonna be happy about it." Ron says rather unsure of himself.
Trelawney reaches her hand out. "Give me the cup." She looks at the cup and immediately screams, throwing the cup back onto the table. "Oh dear boy," she says to Harry, "my dear you have...the grim." The whole class gasps, whispering exploding.
"The grim? What's the grim?" A student asks as Harry, concerned, picks up his cup and stares inside.
"Taking form of a giant dog, it's among the darkest omens in our world. It an omen, of death."
I look at Harry hoping to god that Divinations is just some inaccurate nonsense. I put my hand on his for some comfort, his hands sweaty. Before I can say much, class ends and it's time to go to Care of Magical Creatures.
As we walk outside to class, Ron is the first one to say something about the event that just occurred. "You don't think that grim things got anything to do with Sirius Black do you?"
"Oh honestly Ron. If you ask me Divinations a very wooly discipline. Now ancient runes. Thats a fascinating subject." Hermione says.
"Ancient Runes? Exactly how many classes are you taking this term." Ron asks suspiciously.
"A fair few." She answers
"Hang on, that's not possible. Ancient runes is on the same time as divinations. You'd have to be in two classes at once."
"Don't be silly Ronald how could anyone be in two classes at once. Broaden your minds. Use your inner eye to see the future." Hermione mocks as we just about make it to the end of the concrete steps that lead down to Hagrid's class.
"I said c'mon now. Come closer, less talkin'" Hagrid says, standing in front. "I got a real treat for ya today, a great lesson. Follow me."
We walk deeper into the woods until we come to a clearing. "Form a group over there and turn your books to page 49." I walk close to Harry as we get in a group.
"Exactly how do we do that?" A boy named Draco Malfoy asks.
"Just stroke the spine of course."
We do as instructed as Hermione says, "I think they're funny." All of a sudden another voice chimes in.
"Oh yeah terribly funny. Really witty. God this place has gone to the dogs. Wait until my father hears that Dumbledore's got this oaf teaching classes." It was Malfoy and he was laughing to his sidekicks about the stupid joke he just made.
I look over at Harry who notices the hurt and madness in my eyes, but before I can do anything, he does it for me.
He creates a path walking towards Draco. "Shut up, Malfoy." The Slytherin group erupts into taunting ooos, as Draco hands his bag off to one of his friends. Malfoy walks up to Harry getting into his face as he looks behind him, his eyes growing wide with fear as he points and says, "Dementor Dementor!" Me and the other three that witnessed the dementor on the train whip around, soon realizing that it was another stupid joke. We turn back around, the Slytherins throwing their cloak hoods up and wiggling their fingers at us tauntingly. Hagrid clears his throat and the moment had to be let go.
Harry walks over to me giving my shoulder a small squeeze. "Thank you" I whisper, "Anytime."
"Isn't he beautiful." Hagrid says as he directs our attention to the giant beast that stands next to him. "Say hello to Buckbeak." He says, throwing the creature a dead ferret, one of the many that hung around his neck.
"Hagrid, exactly what is that?"
"That Ron, is a Hippogriff. First thing you want to know about Hippogriffs is that they're proud creatures. Very easily offended, you do not want to insult the Hippogriff. Just be the last thing you'll ever do. Who would like to come and say hello?" Everyone backs away, not wanting to be the one to face the large creature. Everyone but me. I feel a tug on my sleeve and turn to see Harry trying to signal that I need to back up too, but it was too late.
"Well done (y/n), well done." Hagrid says, glancing at Harry as well. "Ah Harry looks like you're wantin' to go with her eh?" I look down to see Harry is still gripping my robe. Dummy.
"C'mon now." Harry and I have to be pushed by Hermione and Ron in order to take our first step towards Buckbeak.
"Now, you have to let him make the first move. It's only polite. So, step up. Give him a nice bow. Then you wait and see if he bows back. If he does you guys can go and touch him. If not, well we'll get to that later. Make your bow." Harry and I exchange nervous glance and I grab his hand, both of our faces turning a light shade of pink as we bow in unison.
"Nice and low." Buckbeak begins to screech, starting to stand on his back legs. "Back off you two. Back off." Hagrid warningly whispers. A twig snaps underneath my foot as I step back, Harry gripping my hand a little harder and the class letting out a gasp. "Keep still." Harry and I stand together completely still, until Buckbeak bows back.
"Oh, well done you two, well done." We let out a sigh of relief, our hands loosening grip, but not letting go. "You can go and pat him now." My eyes widen. "Go on. Don't be shy." We step forward slowly, using each of our one free hand to gently stroking him on the beak. "Yes! Well done, well done!" The class claps, Harry and I exchange laughs, quickly letting go once we realize we're still holding hands. "I think he may let you ride him now."
"What?" We both yell, clearly fearful of the creature itself and the close proximity we will have alone. Hagrid first picks up Harry.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Hagrid!" He yells staring at me, with his eyes screaming "help me". I slowly back away trying to escape the situation, but Hagrid quickly notices, chasing after me and picking me up as well.
"Hagrid! Put me down right now!" That didn't get me very far and he plops me right behind Harry on the back of the Hippogriff.
"Now don't pull out any of his feathers! Cause he won't thank you for that." Hagrid smacks Buckbeak from behind and he goes charging, gaining speed to take flight. I yell out a yelp and grip Harry around his chest.
"Harryy!" I yell once Buckbeak takes off, going above the trees. We stare in awe as we soar over Hogwarts, the world seeming so small. He glances back at me, not realizing my head is hovering over his shoulder, and accidentally grazes his lips against my forehead.
"Oh, um, sorry." he says embarrassed.
"Totally ok."
We go over the Black Lake and touch the water laughing at the joy that this ride is bringing us.
"Spread your arms out!" He yells
"Are you crazy Potter?"
"Just a little bit (l/n). Trust me, do it!" I do as he says and feel so alive, but then I begin to lose my balance. Harry notices my fast wobbly movement and puts his arm across my side, stopping me from nearly falling into the water.
"Merlin! Thank you Harry that could have been bad."
"No problem, just don't scare me with that again ok?"
"No promises." I giggle.
Maybe this whole Harry Potter crush isn't such a bad thing after all.

a/n~Oh. My. God. This chapter was so long and took me forever to write. I hope you enjoyed this one! Sorry about the romance scenes, they're a little awkward right now, any recommendations on what you like in a romance scene? Anything is welcome. I probably won't be writing the next chapter for a couple days, this one took all my energy and creativity out of me. Anyways until next time. ~i
