𝔻𝕒𝕞𝕡 𝕘𝕣𝕒𝕤𝕤 𝕨𝕒𝕤 𝕔𝕣𝕦𝕞𝕓𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕘 underneath the soles of the shoes belonging to the scrambling Gryffindors, as they chased after the garden rat. (y/n) tried to get her brood thoughts to drift into the foggy abyss that rested in the sky, but they just kept clashing back into her brain. The seer could sense in every bone that structured her that something was about to happen, something she was somehow already aware of. (y/n) felt like she was walking a plank into a sea of veiled sinister truths.

Ron's leg's carried him ahead of the other three, heavy breathing causing the cool air to enter their lungs, throats raw from the dryness. They finally stopped, Ron sitting in the long blades of green as he pet Scabbers, relieved. (y/n) winced at the rat making eye contact with her as the trio averted their eyes to the piece of nature that eerily stood behind the oblivious Ron.

The Whomping Willow's twisted trunk flowed into the long twined branches, the scrawny leaves stood straight as it loosely bent in the struggling winds. It towered over Ron, the group growing concerned as they notice the close vicinity he had with the tree.

"Guys," (y/n) shakily spoke, "do you realize what tree this is?"

(y/n) grips Harry's dark jacket as he moves like he's ready to run. "That's not good," he mumbles.  "Ron, run!"

Ron looks up from the struggling rat trying to run from his grasp, as his face falls. He shakily raises a finger, pointing to something behind them as he struggles to find words.

The roles ironically reverse as Ron squeaks, "Harry, Hermione, (y/n), run!"

As they twist around, they find a shaggy black dog in a defensive stance atop a small hill, showing it's teeth in a growl. (y/n) stares confused, this was the same dog that's visited her multiple times, the same black dog that licked her tears after she heard the first whispers in her ears. Harry stares confused because this is the same black dog that he's seen before, but he believes to be the Grim.

The stray lunges forward, soaring over the ducked heads with it's powerful hind legs. The group remains still in shock, it's black fur a blur as it charges towards the ginger that remained sitting in fright. It clasps it's sharp teeth onto the bottom of Ron's jeans, hastily dragging him towards the Whomping Willow. Ron yelled for help as the best friends snapped out of their trance and ran towards the endangered Weasley.

"Ron! Ron, wait!" Harry yelled, as he charged and dove onto the grassy floor, slowly inching towards Ron, simultaneously attempting to grasp his hand.

Ron was pulled into a deep hole within the tree, his screams echoing throughout the hollow tube. The trio stands in mourning as they feel a hard stick slam into their abdomen's, sending them flying backwards. (y/n) lands next to Harry, an unfamiliar ache in her stomach and lungs unable to expand from the ruthless branch.

Harry looks over to see the girl laying down in pain, causing him to forget about his own.

"You alright?" Harry asks, turning onto his side while placing a hand on her arm.

"Y-yeah I'm good, just a little winded," she says, as she slowly sits up.

All three Gryffindors stand up, Harry being knocked over again almost immediately, Hermione and (y/n) looking at each other knowing they'll have to dodge the plant. The girls jump in sync, avoiding the wood. For the second round of swinging trees, (y/n) managed to duck, but Hermione wasn't so lucky. As Harry was searching for his knocked off glasses, Hermione was sitting on one of the fast moving branches.

"Hermione!" (y/n) yelled, the distraction causing her to feel another blow to her ribs as she sees Hermione pull Harry up by the shirt. The inertia of the branch causes (y/n) to stick to the Beech tree as she soars through the air and straight into the same tube Ron went down, Harry faintly screaming her name.

She lands hard, on a large slab of rock. As soon as she landed arm first, there was a loud crack, causing the girl to yelp in agony. A sharp pain radiated throughout her entire arm up through her shoulder, making her dizzy with the pain that only got worse if she attempted to move.

She heard muffled screams as a sliding sound indicated that Hermione and Harry were on the same path she was only moments before. Hermione landed with a grunt next to her and (y/n)'s grew wide as she saw Harry's path was right towards her. As he shot out, he fell on something that wasn't the ground, (y/n)'s painful cries making him realize it was her he landed on. Both of their cheeks glowed a rosy red, as Harry's hands were placed on either side of her head to ensure he wasn't crushing her already injured body.

"Oh-uh sorry," he said awkwardly, as he kept his eyes to the floor and lifted himself up, brushing the dirt off his zip up. Once realizing the girl wasn't getting up with him, but instead holding her arm in pain, Harry crouched down.

"What happened?" Harry asked frantically, scanning her for any visible injuries.

"My arm," she said through clenched teeth, "I think it's broken."

Harry helped her up and the trio continued on their way to rescue Ron.

"Where'd you suppose this goes?" Hermione wondered.

"I have a hunch," Harry hesitated, "I just hope it's wrong."

The group went up a stone staircase, walls around them textured with the grooves that it had gained overtime. The walls being the only ones that knew what lay ahead of the trio. Everything was damp, until they finally reached a latter leading to a square hole. Dog prints were imprinted in the thin layer of dust that rested on the wooden floors.

"We're in the Shrieking Shack," Hermione stated. "Aren't we?"

"Hermione, come on," (y/n) frustratingly grabbed Hermione's arm, the bushy-haired girl standing in place to admire every molecule in the structure.

They went up another pair of stairs, dusty painting's filling the space of the wallpaper, lights hanging down with their glass too dirty to allow them to function.

There was a distant yell, undeniably belonging to Ron. The trio picked up speed at the sound, coming to the top of the stairs. There was another yell, but this time it was clearly right in front of them, inside the doorway that was only a few steps away. The Gryffindors rushed in, Ron sitting on a grimy sofa while fearfully holding Scabbers. He had a major cut on his leg, cherry red blood oozing out of it as it dripped down his pale leg.

"The dog, where is it?" Harry asked urgently.

"Harry, it's a trap he's the dog, he's an animagus," Ron points in the same way he did earlier, the whole event coming full circle. The trio turned again for something behind them, but this time the dog was a man. The dog was Sirius Black.

(y/n) gasped as she realized the familiarity of the situation, the room, the people inside, the way the Gryffindors stood protectively on the opposite side of Sirius Black. This was her vision, the vision that started it all.

Now learning that Sirius Black was a dog animagus, she also realized that this wasn't the first time meeting him. It was Sirius Black that rid of her tears on the dreadful day she fought with her friends, it was Sirius Black that would be in the distance watching her with a human like protection. This single fact, only further proved (y/n)'s theory that Harry's godfather is innocent, that he was set up and in reality is a good man.

Sirius stood in the corner, Azkaban striped garments loosely clinging to his frail starved body. Dirt consumed him, his hair a matted brown, face blotchy with years of no showers, teeth invisible under grime. But hatred was still reflected in his eyes.

"If you want to kill Harry, you'll have to kill us too," Hermione bravely stated, stepping in front of Harry.

"Only one will die tonight," Sirius stepped forward, (y/n) confused as to what direction this was going.

"Then it'll be you!" Harry bellowed, as he pushed Hermione out of the way and lunged at his godfather, the two fighting on the ground and Harry's wand pointed towards his neck.

"Harry, no!" (y/n) said, as she went to help, but Hermione gently held her back.

"Do you still believe he's innocent?" Harry asked, his breathing seething with anger.

"Harry, just wait. You'll see," (y/n) said.

(y/n) was hoping she was right, that her vision was real. She was confused as Lupin was present in her vision, and she wondered if he would even appear. Almost as if staged, a voice came booming in.

"Expelliarmus!" Lupin came storming in.

The pain in the girl's arm was growing unbearable, her head pounding from both living her vision and the injury that swelled her arm.

Harry's wand flew onto the floor, while Lupin gestured for him to get up, to which he did. (y/n) wraps her good arm around his, Harry slightly shaking.

"It'll be ok Harry. Trust me," she whispers, as he wraps his pinkie around hers to calm him down.

"Well, well Sirius, looking rather ragged aren't we? Finally the flesh reflects the madness within," Lupin says, as his wand was now the one pointing at Black's.

"Well you'd know all about the madness within, wouldn't you Remus?"

Lupin lowers his wand, grasping Sirius' hand as he helps him up, the two embracing in a brotherly hug.

"No!" Hermione yelled. "I trusted you! And all this time, you've been his friend. He's a werewolf! That's why he's been missing classes." Hermione points to Lupin.

"How long have you known?" Lupin asks in a low tone, stepping towards Hermione.

Then (y/n) realizes, in Trelawney's class she glanced into a crystal ball and saw the moon. She assumed that it was about her love for the night, but now she's realizing it could've been a warning about the secret's of Professor Lupin.

"Since Professor Snape set the essay," Hermione says fearfully.

"Well, Hermione you truly are the brightest witch of your age."

"Enough talk Remus, come on let's kill him!"

"Wait!"

"I did my waiting! Twelve years of it! In Azkaban!" Sirius' voice was worn and tired.

"Very well. Kill him," Lupin hands Sirius his wand. "But wait one more minute, Harry has the right to know why."

This is it, this is the start of (y/n)'s vision. She just hopes it turns out like she thinks it will.

"I know why," Harry says, voice shaky, "you betrayed my parents. You're the reason they're dead." Harry says referring to Sirius, but Lupin is quick to respond, taking a step towards Harry.

"No Harry it wasn't him, someone else did betray your parents, but it was somebody who until quite recently, I believed to be dead."

"Who was it then!" Harry bellowed, Sirius ready to answer.

(y/n) answered instead, "Peter Pettigrew. He's an animagus. He's Scabbers."

"How did you know that?" Lupin asks curiously.

"Because I saw it. I'm-" she pauses, not know if it was the right thing to reveal her gift. "I'm a seer."

Before anyone could react, another voice comes from the doorway.

"Expelliarmus!" Professor Snape enters, disarming Sirius from the wand he was holding.

(y/n) stood with her throbbing arm, knowing she could end this situation much earlier with a simple 'stupefy' and the successful turning of Scabbers. She felt drawn to the two men, like there was a history. There was something that her abilities had not warned her of.

"Vengeance is sweet. I hoped I would be the one to catch you." Snape stood with a blinding hatred, his wand pointed towards Black with no hesitation.

"Severus," Lupin tried to reason, but Snape quickly changed the person at the end of his wand.

"I told Dumbledore you were helping an old friend into the castle and now, here's the proof."

"Brilliant Snape, once again you put your keen and penetrative mind to the task and as usual come to the wrong conclusion. Now if you'll excuse us, Remus and I have some unfinished business to attend to-"

Throughout the conversation, Sirius was slowly inching closer to Snape, and was cut off by the feeling of a wooden wand being against his dirt ridden neck.

"Give me a reason, I beg you," Snape had no sense of joking in his tone, everyone in the room knowing he would willingly kill Black on the spot with no second thought.

"Severus, don't be a fool-"

"He can't help but be rabid by now," Sirius despite having life or death in the hands of Severus Snape, still manages to make a joke.

"Sirius be quiet-"

"Quiet yourself, Remus!"

Lupin backs away, knowing that there's no point in him interfering with the conflict.

"Look at you two, quarreling like an old married couple," Snape says through gritted teeth.

"Why don't you run along and play with your chemistry set."

Snape digs his wand into Sirius' neck, pushing him into the old raggedy piano that sat in the middle of the room.

"I could do it you know. But why deny it to the Dementors, they're so longing to see you. Do I detect a flicker of fear? A Dementors kiss, one can only imagine what that must be like to endure, it's said to be nearly unbearable to witness, but I'll do my best."

(y/n) flinches at Snape's words, knowing that Sirius would experience the Dementor's kiss if she didn't figure out how to stop it. Harry, while holding (y/n)'s good arm, snaked his arm around her lower back, reaching for the wand that sat sticking out of her waistband. He grabbed it, holding it out to the Potions professor.

"Expelliarmus!"

Snape flew backwards, crashing into an old bed that crumbled at his contact, the now splintered wood collapsed on top of him as the dust curled in the air like smoke.

"What did you just do?" Ron squeaked.

"You attacked a teacher," Hermione said in a shocked tone.

"Hermione, he was attacking an innocent man," (y/n) stated, careful not to move her arm with the rest of her body.

"Tell me about Peter Pettigrew," Harry said, wands pointed at the two men.

"He went to school with us, we thought he was our friend."

"Harry, we saw him on the map. I saw him in my vision," (y/n) intervened, stepping next to Harry.

"The map was lying then."

"The map never lies! Pettigrew is alive and he's right there," Sirius points to Scabbers, causing Ron to start to believe (y/n)'s claim.

Sirius grabbed Scabbers from a reluctant Ron, throwing him on the piano. The two childhood friends repeatedly tried to aim their wands at the rat, but the sound of smashed piano keys and dust rising indicated that they weren't having much luck. Finally, they hit the rat while he was in a hole in the wall, just as (y/n) had seen.

The man was rather harsh looking, multiple balding spots within his relatively thin hair, teeth growing past the normal length, fingernails overgrown and yellow in his flaky skin, and rat like tendencies that he did not rid of. He came out of the hole sniffing like he was still in his animagus form.

"Remus, Sirius! My old friends," Pettigrew tried to run, but the much stronger men pulled him back, wands pointed.

Pettigrew relied to Harry, getting too close for comfort. "Harry, look at you, you look so much like your father. Like James, we were the best of friends-"

"How dare speak to Harry," Sirius pried. "How dare you talk about James in front of him!"

"You sold James and Lily to Voldemort, didn't you?" Remus accused.

"I didn't mean to! The Dark Lord, you have no idea the weapons he possesses. Sirius, what would you have done?" Peter sniffles after every sentence, trembling with fear as three wands stay aimed at him.

"I would've died!" Sirius exclaims, body shaking from the anger in his voice. "I would've died rather than betray my friends!"

Pettigrew scrambles underneath of the piano, making his way to Harry, gripping his shoulders while Harry leans away. "Harry, James wouldn't have wanted me killed. Your dad would've spared me."

Harry pushes him off, Pettigrew turning to (y/n) who was standing right next to him. She flinched at the horrid breath that was creeping up her nose, his words being harshly whispered to her.

"(y/n) dear, your mother was a wonderful woman. So kind and thoughtful. She would've wanted me to be free. Wanted me to be-"

"Don't touch her!" Harry bellowed, forcefully pulling the rat-man off as he put a protective arm around her shoulder.

Sirius grabbed Pettigrew by the shirt. "How dare you touch Lily and James' son. How dare you touch the daughter of-"

Lupin quickly clasped a hand over Sirius' mouth while giving him a wide eyed expression, slowly lowering his hand once Sirius went quiet.

"Remus, don't tell me she doesn't know. It was your job to tell her," Sirius said like a father scolding his child.

"Sirius, it's not necessarily our biggest problem at the moment. Later," Lupin said as he avoided (y/n)'s gaze.

The girl was hurt that he had lied to her that day, claiming he knew nothing about her parents. When in reality, he knew that Lily Potter was her godmother and he knew the identity of the parents that were merely ghosts to her.

"You knew?" she says, hurt. "You lied to me. You said you didn't know. Were you ever going to tell me the Potter's were my godparents? Or were you going to lie about that too."

Everyone in the room went still, especially Harry. The two wizards that were family to each other and the Potter's stood in shock.

"(y/n), what are you talking about?" Harry asked, voice slightly cracking, (y/n) giving a look of 'I'm sorry I didn't tell you, we'll talk later'.

"How do you know about that?" Sirius asked, him and Remus' hand's resting on each other's shoulder.

(y/n) couldn't say Lily told her, they'd think she was insane. "I just-I just do."

"We'll talk later," Remus said, turning back to Pettigrew who was taking in the drama, the attention averted from him for a little while.

Remus and Sirius dragged him away, placing him in front of both of their raised wands.

"You should've realized Peter, that if Voldemort didn't kill you then we would!"

"No!" Harry yelled.

Lupin turned his head in impatience, "Harry, this man is-"

"I know what he is. We'll take him to the castle."

Pettigrew knelt in front of Harry, reaching for his leg. "Bless you, boy. Bless you!"

"Get off!" Harry said, jumping back. "I said we'd take you back to the castle. After that the Dementor's can have you."

The group left the room, Harry ensuring (y/n) doesn't hurt her arm even more and Sirius helping Ron walk. The continue down the way they came in, once again passing the ancient paintings and the house so grand and dim that you know at one time it could've been filled with life and liveliness. Creaking of the wood echoing against the dusty walls, wind howling against the shack. They made it back to the staircase with the textured walls.

"Sorry about the bite," Sirius said to Ron, "I reckon that twinges a bit."

"A bit? A bit? You almost tore my leg off!" Ron said, his voice bouncing off the walls.

"I was going for the rat. Normally, I have a very sweet disposition as a dog. In fact more than once, James suggested that I make the change permanent. The tail I could live with, the fleas they're murder."

(y/n) looked over at Harry, a genuine wide smile across his face, as he looked up at Sirius with admiration. She smiled too, for she knew that the love Harry was going to have for his godfather would help mend the empty spot in his heart that was reserved for a father.

The group emerged from the tree, setting Ron down while Harry carefully made sure (y/n) could hold her arm effectively before letting go of her, something he didn't like doing.  Sirius wandered a little ahead of them, stopping and staring at the grand castle that was Hogwarts and all it's glory. Harry stared ahead, (y/n) knowing how bad he wanted to talk to him.

"Harry, you can go," she smiled.

"No, no don't worry it's fine, I'll stay."

"You go, Hermione and I will stay." Harry looked reluctantly. "Go," (y/n) whispered.

"You sure you're alright?" Harry asked. When Ron nodded, he followed after Sirius.

"That looks like it's painful," Hermione said, referring to the large gash with dried up blood on the ginger's leg.

"So painful. They uh,  they might...chop it," Ron said, whispering in a flirting tone.

"I'm sure Madam Pomfrey will fix it in a heartbeat."

"It's too late, it's ruined. It'll have to be chopped off." Ron was trying his best to be flirty, but (y/n) couldn't tell if Hermione was catching on to it or not.

"Am I...interrupting something? Cause I can go," (y/n) said pointing towards Lupin, causing the other two to blush a light shade.

"Oh don't be ridiculous. Besides, do you know how many times you and Harry have heavily flirted or even just looked at each other, and Ron and I have wondered if we should space out," Hermione bit back.

"Hey! That is not something that happens, you're just changing the subject," (y/n) smirks, Ron and Hermione giving each other a look. "What?"

"It...happens a lot actually," Ron said, giving a crooked shy smirk as he glances at his leg.

Before (y/n) could defend herself, she sees Lupin squirming in an odd way while keeping Pettigrew from running. She looks up, to see a full moon emerging from behind the clouds.

She stands up as she feels like she's made out of air, a image flashing before her sight for only a split second. It was enough time to decipher the scene. It was the scene of Harry and Black by the lake unconscious, and this time she was laying there too.

She felt her soul shatter as she realized this was her final warning. This was the wake up call that in only moments of time, the boy that makes her feel something she can't label and the man he looks up to would be feasted on by Dementors, while she lay next to him.

This was her warning that there was nothing she could do to stop it.
