Life Companion

It was a warm sunny day as a certain Kang Hyeri slouched on the couch with a pout visible on her face. A sigh escaped her mouth, blinking her eye lazily. "Whoa, what happened to you Kang Hyeri?" Gowon, who happened to pass by the living room to take her phone on the table, spoke before giving Hyeri a confused look.

"Why is everyday such a boring day, eonni" Hyeri sighed for the nth time. "Well maybe because the world knows you'll exactly find a way to get out of boredom anytime soon" The younger chuckled, "Maybe I do, I've already got an idea to save myself from this too much boredom tho"

Hyeri went to her shared-room to dress herself up before heading back again to the living room to take her coat. "Where are you heading?" Gowon questioned, earning a cheeky smile from the panda. "Just going to visit someone" With that, Hyeri left as the older girl shrugged her shoulders then headed back to her shared-room.

Hyeri inhaled the nice fresh air outside as she steps onto the cemented ground continuously, heading to a place she decided to go and visit. The young girl remembered going to that place if she had time, she even remembered the time when she took Jinsoul there.

Hyeri arrived in front of a coffee shop, but it wasn't owned by a random person, it was her brother's coffee shop. She looked inside through the big glass windows from outside, checking to see if her brother was on his shift. Successfully finding his brother's face, she walked inside with a smile.

"Annyeong, welcome to- oh Hyeri!" Her brother greeted but stopped midway when he saw his sister's face, running at her direction before giving the girl a quick hug. "How's business, Ryu oppa?" Hyeri asked, "Nothing changed, it's still running good because your brother is a great manager" The guy confidently said, making Hyeri burst out laughing.

"Oh-and hey, since when did you call me Ryu? Last time I remember it's Han" Hyeri chuckled, "I think Ryuhan would be better" Her brother laughed, ruffling the girl's hair. "Take an empty seat and wait for me okay? I'll just make a coffee for you then we'll talk"

Hyeri nodded and did find an empty seat near the glass window to occupy. Her eyes gazed outside the shop, few people strolling at the streets with either their companions or pets. After a few minutes, Ryuhan arrived with a tray of her cappuccino and an egg tart.

"Enjoy this treat, my dear sister" He placed the tray down the table and sat in front of Hyeri. "No need to treat me again oppa, I'll pay my orders this time or else I'll call Sejin eonni to ignore you for a whole month" Hyeri threatened.

"Alright alright, sheez why do you got to involve my girlfriend again" Ryuhan playfully glared at his sister before chuckling, "How about you sis, got any love interest already?"

"Hmm, I don't think so" Hyeri scratched her nape, "I doubt that, with that good looking face of yours add the fact that you're a well mannered girl although you're an idiot-anyone could fall over you"

"Stop with the compliments, oppa. I might not handle it" Ryuhan bursted out laughing, "How about Hyunsuk? He seemed to be a kind person and I can trust him with you" Hyeri gave her brother a stoic face as the older guy laughed once again, "I told you years ago, he's just a friend"

"You two had spent your childhood together as classmates since grade school, I wouldn't be surprised anymore if I receive a news that you two are dating"

"Some people only reach the status of being friends, don't pressure me bro"

"Alright, you bitter kid. But what if he does have feelings for you, what will you do?"

"Relationships doesn't seem to be in my mind for now, I want to focus on my career"

Ryuhan took a bite of the egg tart then spoke, "But wouldn't it be better if you have someone you adore by your side as you go to your journey being an idol?"

"I do have, and they are my group mates. They have been with me since I was a trainee up until now" Hyeri stated, earning a nod from her brother. "Anyways, I'll talk to you again later. They might need my help since I just realized that many customers had arrived while we were serious about our talk. Be right back!" With that, Ryuhan ran to the counter and helped his staffs.

Hyeri couldn't help but chuckle as she took a sip of the coffee his brother made, humming in satisfaction. She opened her phone, deciding to continue the anime she paused yesterday. Watching silently while finishing her snacks.

Few minutes had passed as more and more people arrived in the shop. From near empty to crowded, the shop has been busy ever since Hyeri arrived. As for the mentioned girl, she was still watching with her earphones in.

With the amount of people inside the shop right now, no one noticed that a certain person came in and searched for Hyeri. When she finally found what she was looking for, the girl headed to where Hyeri is and sat in front of her. Hyeri didn't noticed the person who sat in front of her since she was intently watching in her phone.

The girl in front of the panda tried to make her notice her presence but unfortunately, Hyeri couldn't because of her earphones. The girl rolled her eyes before deciding to call Hyeri. The panda's eyes widened upon seeing the caller's ID but nonetheless answered the call.

"Oh Hyejoo eonni? Why did you called?" She answered, "So you could finally realize that I am in front of you" Hyejoo replied, looking at Hyeri with her piercing eyes. Hyeri's eyes widened for the second time before ending the call, "Whoa! Are you a magician? You just suddenly popped in front of me"

"No silly, I came here few moments ago then I found you seriously watching something in your phone to the point you didn't noticed me in front of you" The wolf girl said, "Is that so? What are you doing here by the way? Are you following me again?"

"I was about to ask you something back in the dorm but turns out you were not home, Gowon eonni said that you went out but doesn't know where. I came searching for you and found you here" Hyejoo explained but the panda was not buying it although she just nodded.

"Isn't this where you took Jinsoul eonni for a 'date' "

"Yeah-wait, how did you know that? You're following us!"

"No, I don't. Coincidentally, I was out the day you took her here and I saw you two in this cafe"

"That is highly suspicious, not everything is a coincidence"

"But this one is so stop with the questions miss Kang. This place is crowded, let's go somewhere else" Hyejoo stod up, planning to pull Hyeri up from her seat but the younger disagreed. "I'm still waiting for Ryuhan oppa, let's leave this place after he's done with his work"

"Who and where is he?" Hyejoo looked around as the younnger Hye pointed the tall guy at the cashier area. "That handsome guy is my sibling, he owns this sho-" The older nodded before pulling Hyeri as they walked towards his direction.

"Good morning sir, can I take Hyeri out from this place. This place is crowded and it wouldn't be such a good news if something bad happen" The wolf girl said to Ryuhan who had a confused face but later on replaced by a sly grin. "Well sure you can, just take care of my lil' sis" Ryuhan told as he ruffled his sister's hair, earning a glare from her.

"Thank you, we'll be going now" Hyejoo wasted no time as she grabbed Hyeri's wrist then made their way out the shop, the younger watched her brother wave the two good bye still with his smirk.

A few minutes of being dragged by Son Hyejoo, Hyeri found herself in the park. The older girl led the both of them to the grass as they sat peacefully while watching the blue sky. "Why does your brother's name sound more like Japanese than Korean?" Hyejoo broke the silence.

"Our parents are weird, noticed me and my brother's initials? Both H and R, mine is HyeRi and his is RyuHan. Mom told us once when we were kids that they name us like that so maybe when we get separated and meet each other again we will know that we are siblings. We stopped believing that when we were in high school, they are ridiculously great. I love them"

"Now I know where your silly attitude came from, you were born in a family with humorous people" Both of them laughed at what Hyejoo said. "Me and my brother never fought ever since mom told us that and actually treat each other nice because none of us doesn't want to lose a sibling, we just started dissing each other when we stopped believing that"

Silence engulfed the two's atmosphere once again as they kept staring at the sky, the cold breeze and the warmth gave by the sun was making the day great for all of the people in Seoul. The two girls enjoyed the time by just resting their backs on the grassy ground with the nice unlimited scenery just right above them.

"Are you interested to anyone these days, Hyeri?" The older decided to break the silence once more as Hyeri turned her head towards the wolf girl with a confused look. "What do you mean? A crush..?" Hyeri jokingly said as a chuckle left her mouth, but stopped when she saw Hyejoo nodded.

"You're kidding right? You know me, I want to focus on my career"

"Even admiring someone?"

"W-well, I admire someone but not romantically. I idolize her" Hyeri stated making Hyejoo interested, "Really? Who is that then?" She asked. Hyeri stared at her with a stoic face until Hyejoo finally go it, "Jinsoul eonni..?"

"Yeah, she's a great person and never failed to make anyone happy although she's awkward sometimes. She's the best friend that anyone would wanted to have, I wanted to be like her though she told me once that I will never be her but I can be me, ever since then I started making people happy with my own ways" Hyejoo can't help but cheer in her mind as her lips curve up into a smile, "What about you, Joo? Anyone piqued your interest?"

Nodding as a yes, Hyeri asked who it was. "I can't say it yet though I can give hints on who it is" Hyejoo spoke, Ooh! I love guessing games, try me" Hyeri sat up as the older did too and started to play their little game.

"She's in the group"

"Noted!"

"Uhm, she's annoying"

"Oka-hey! Shouldn't you be complimenting that someone you admire?"

"Shh, this is how I want to describe her" The older shushed as Hyeri pouted but nonetheless continued to listen to Hyejoo. "Okay! Continue please"

"She's so noisy that people would want to put a tape on her mouth"

"I can relate and so does Yeojin-"

"That girl never stops moving around, to the point anyone would dare to tie her to a chair"

"Is it Heejin eonni?" Hyeri guessed, earning a blank expression from the wolf girl. "I'm calling Heejin eonni" Hyejoo took her phone out as the younger tried to retrieve her phone to prevent her from calling the bunny. "No! Please don't"

"Be quiet for a while and tell me your comments later on after I finish talking, will you?" Hyeri held her breathe as she nodded.

"She's dumb"

"Oh my go-"

"Stop" The older put her palm in front of Hyeri as a sigh escaped her mouth, "That's it, that's all of it"

"What?! That's it? You just insulted the girl you admired? Oh my god, that seems to be a mistake" Hyeri ran her fingers through her hair as grunted. "You kept talking when I said to be quiet, I won't continue it anymore"

Hyeri pouted before slouching back down the grass and stared at the sky once again. Hyejoo did the same, her lips curved up a little trying to suppress her laughter.

"A person is a perfect imperfection made by God, of course there are flaws but shall we focus on the good ones now?" The older spoke, her eyes gazing at the clouds moved by the wind. The panda turned her head to Hyejoo as she looked at her side profile.

"She's a kind woman, a considerate one. If there's even danger ahead of her, I think she would rather save the others than herself first"

"She's brave and strong, even the most hurtful words won't bring her down"

"On the other side of the world, she's also smart although I said she's dumb but what I mean with dumb is she's a clumsy idiot"

"With all those characteristics she owns, that girl never failed to make my day better that is why I love her so much" Hyejoo smiled as she think of the girl. As for Hyeri, her jaw dropped which made her cover mouth in shock.

"Whoa, that was deep" The younger Hye told, making the older chuckle. "You really do admire that girl. But, I can't point out who it is"

"You'll know soon enough, you'll be the first person to know it. I promise" Hyejoo extended out her pinky finger, "I'll be waiting for it then" Hyeri smiled, connecting her pinky to the older as they did a pinky promise.

'You'll be shocked at the day I'll tell you who it is because, it's you' Hyejoo thought before looking back at the blue sky.
