A Day Just You And Me

Hyeri never experienced being awkward with any of her group mates at all, however, things might've changed a little bit.

Due to the dream the girl had about her and Hyejoo, she's been getting awkward with the wolf and often run away whenever Hyejoo was approaching.

She doesn't know why but her cheeks will suddenly heat up unknowingly, not so sure about the reason why she was getting all flustered around the older Hye.

Hyeri barely talks to the girl now and so does Hyejoo. Everyone was wondering on what happened to them that made the two girls act like they didn't knew each other.

Lately, Hyeri had been spending most of her time with Jinsoul. As for Hyejoo, she's with her Gowon eonni. The two looked like they both have separated their lives for good.

Though the girls didn't dare to ask why anymore. If they'll act like that they were strangers, then so be it. Besides, everyone thought that something weird had happened to them resulting to their current situation. The two are on their own.

"Jinsoul eonni! Have you seen the other pair of my shoe?"

Hyeri shouted, audible enough for Jinsoul to hear since the older girl was in the bathroom. "Why are you asking me? I'm in the bathroom and surely doesn't know where your shoe went," she shouted back which caused Hyeri to pout.

"Check the bedroom! Yeojin must've hid it there again."

She shouted once again, felt bad for making her frown since she knows Hyeri enough for her to visualize the girl pouting when she said her statement earlier.

Hyeri shook her head as she smiled, skipping her way towards their shared room.

When she arrived, her heart skipped a beat as her breathe hitched nonetheless pulled out a smile. Not the usual smile she have tho.

"Hyejoo eonni! What are you doing here?" She awkwardly scratched her nape as a nervous laugh escaped her throat. Hyejoo was just casually sitting on the office chair right on her study table.

Hyeri's eyes darted towards her shoe she was finding which was on Hyejoo's hold. For the the whole time she thought it was Yeojin who took it but then she's here now, looking at the older Hye with her shoe as she smirked.

Hyejoo waved the shoe around as she stared at the other Hye with a toothy grin, "Looking for this?"

"Whoa, you got some Cinderella's stepmother vibes. Have you watched that?"

Hyeri changed the topic in a blink of an eye making Hyejoo squint her eyes, giving the panda a glare for suddenly changing the topic.

But of course, she's another dork so she replied "Yes, of course I have watched that movie but anyways, I want to ask you a question," Hyeri gulped, "What is it?"

"Why do your shoes smells so good?"

Hyeri grimaced and at the same time gave her a questioning look, surely she didn't expected that which made her react like this. Soon enough, Hyejoo laughed hysterically as she clutches her stomach due to too much laughing. "I was just kidding," she wheezed.

"You should see your face!" Hyejoo snorted, still couldn't get over with Hyeri's priceless reaction as the younger girl just stared nonchalantly at her.

After a while, Hyejoo has finally finished her laughing session before clearing her throat, trying her very best to forget Hyeri's reaction earlier. Although she failed multiple times, she finally stopped when the panda threw the other pair of her shoe to the older.

"Hurry and ask already, Jinsoul eonni and I are going out."

"Curse Jinsoul eonni, we're having a moment here."

"Excuse me? We are clearly not having a moment here."

"Oh, you must've misunderstood it."

"Because your words are literally confusing!"

"It's—"

Before Hyejoo could even fire back, Heejin had spoken "If you two seriously do not shut up, I will break your bones," she threatened before cracking her knuckles.

The two Hye immediately zipped their mouths shut as they glared at each other, whisper-yelling some random things to annoy each other even more but stopped when Heejin came back to take a peek.

"Alright, let's make this simple. You ask, I answer. I ask, you answer. Got it?" Hyeri heaved a deep sigh before sitting down on her bed as Hyejoo nodded in agreement.

"Why are you being distant to me?"

"I'm not."

Hyejoo rolled her eyes, "Then why are you sitting far away from where I am?" she clicked her tongue. Hyeri grimaced as she stared at the older in disbelief. "Is that what you meant by being distant?"

"No."

"Oh god, it doesn't take a single word from you to make my head hurt."

"The feelings are mutual then."

"I swear, any shorter and you'd probably fade out of existence."

"Haha what are you gonna do, snap your fingers like what Thanos did? Good luck with that, Miss Kang," the wolf snickered, pulling out a smirk but also received one in return. "Ha! Perhaps I would but that won't affect you so that's why Heej eonni will do it instead." It was Hyeri's turn to smirk, pointing her finger behind Hyejoo.

Turning around only to find Heejin looking at them with fiery eyes, "So I guess you have chosen execution," she told before doing her stretching, once again cracking her knuckles and stuff.

Luckily for Hyeri, Jinsoul finally went out the bathroom after hours as she called out for the girl so they can finally leave. The panda stuck out her tongue to Hyejoo before stealing her shoe from the older Hye then sprinting away the bedroom leaving the wolf with the bunny.

"You— WE'LL TALK LATER KANG HYERI!"

——

"Where are we going by the way? I hope it's fun this time."

Jinsoul smacked the younger's head, earning a chuckle from Hyeri, "Yah! Are you saying that wherever I take you is boring? If you say yes, I'll leave you here right now."

"Jeez, I was just kidding! Please don't leave me all alone," pleaded Hyeri before clinging onto Jinsoul's arms as if her life depends on her. "At least tell me where we are going!"

Bouncing up and down while holding the older girl's arm, trying to convince Jinsoul to spill the tea. However, the older continued ignoring her as they went to the ticket booth. Yes, they were at the train station.

"Two tickets to Dongdaemun, please."

Hyeri gasped in surprise, her mouth opened wide upon hearing what the other girl said. "You're taking me to your hometown? Whoa! Indeed surprising."

"Yes, now please shut up," the older deadpanned, flashing a cheeky smile. "But why? I mean, I get that we will go there to have fun but...there are so many other places to go!"

"Don't you want to?"

"That's not what I meant to say!"

Jinsoul took their tickets from the man inside the counter (I don't what know what they are called) before walking to one of the bench at the waiting area.

"You know I won't shut up unless I hear what I want to hear," told Hyeri, lowkey threatening Jinsoul who kept sighing since Hyeri first asked a question when they reached the station. "Stop asking questions, you'll know when we get there."

Hyeri pouted, crossing her arms as she huffed, "Just make sure it was worth-waiting for or else I'm going to abandon you."

"You won't because you love me too much."

"I hate that you're always right."

[ At Dongdaemun ]

"Finally! I think my butt grew wide because of sitting for too long," addressed Hyeri who patted her butt with a pout plastered on ber face. As soon as the panda told that, Jinsoul bursted out laughing though not that loud to avoid catching attentions.

"Gosh, Kang Riley. It wasn't that long, it's just a forty-five minute ride. Pretty sure that won't make your butt grow larger."

"Ha! You thought. I recorded the time and it was an hour ride. An HOUR. That could make anyone's butt pressed flat!"

Then the two continued arguing that an hour ride either can make your butt squashed or cannot, debating while walking until they reached the streets of Dongdaemun.

"Aish, why are we arguing about butts anyway? Last time I debated with you was about farts, the loud one doesn't smell but the silent one does," the older girl grimaced as the younger one only shook her head while patting Jinsoul's back, "Debating about weird things actually makes you smarter and a fast thinker which you do really need to acquire, eonni."

Jinsoul's mind was still processing everything, unintentionally nodding but immediately shook her head when everything was finally clear. She was about to smack Hyeri once again but to her dismay, the panda had ran away, "Yah! You'll be lost, come back here!"

The panda eventually came running back to her upon almost already losing her way out of Jinsoul's wrath.

Jinsoul tightly held Hyeri's hand, careful not to lose the girl or else she'll face numerous consequences, "Let's go to the famous Dongdaemun Market first, it'll be more fun to visit that place at night but I have made different plans for night time."

Hyeri stopped on her tracks, gasping in surprise as she stared at the older girl with wide eyes and jaw dropped, "Wait you mean...we're staying the night here?! Oh my god—tHIS IS AMAZING!"

"Nope, we won't stay over night here but we're going to spend the night in this place! Sounds like a good idea, right?" Jinsoul cocked her eyebrows up, a toothy grin on her fave as she nudged Hyeri by her elbow. "Yeah it is! But it would be cooler if we can stay the night here."

"Hey, at least I got a day that's just you and me! Not worrying about someone stealing you away from our moment, I could have you all to myself for today!"

"It was all seemingly happy until you said 'for today'. What a tragic story we have," Hyeri dramatically clutched her chest, hanging her head low as she released whimpering sounds causing Jinsoul to chuckle once again at her actions, "Yeah, there are basically eleven other girls ruining our moment everytime we had the chance so it is indeed tragic."

"Whatever, conversing is fun but let's not waste our time that was supposed to be us physically having fun and not verbally. Tour me around your paradise, Miss Jung."

"Would gladly do, Miss Kang."

——

Jinsoul and Hyeri arrived the Dongdaemun Market which was actually a popular place in the town. Just like what Jinsoul had said earlier, it would be more fun if they came at the market at night since the place would look even lively when the sky gets darker making it look like there is some kind of celebration or something.

"Whoa! This place is awesome, I wish I could bring my family here some other time. Grey, Chuzzer and Bruni too!" The panda's sparkling eyes wandered around. Looking over here, looking over there. Anything that piques her interest surely can't be left untouched nor not given attention to.

Jinsoul was just there, tailing behind the younger girl who was fascinated at everything. Prepared her wallet in case Hyeri wanted to buy something but the girl insisted not to waste her money on her. However, Jinsoul wasn't pretty convinced and instead bought some things for both of them to use so Hyeri wouldn't get grumpy anymore.

They had spent almost half the day at the market. Buying things they could make use of, souvenirs and other things to give the other girls back at the dorm, found a photobooth and took multiple pictures together.

Both of them had lose track of time but their grumpy stomachs reminded them that it has been already a long time since they had eaten.

"Are you hungry, Hyeri-ah?"

"Yes ma'am, my tummy over here says it needs food. It's necessary or else I'll die."

Jinsoul brightly smiled, "Just like what I planned! Let's go, I know a place where they serve delicious foods."

"Wait—you planned to starve both of us?! Or just me!?" The panda, currently wearing a cat ears headband, stared at Jinsoul in disbelief but what the older only did was to ignore and stifle a laugh.

[ After some few walks at the streets of Dongdaemun ]

"We're here."

Jinsoul announced as Hyeri scanned the building in front of her, "This doesn't look like a restaurant to me."

"Silly, do only restaurants serve great foods? Surely that is true but home is where all good foods come from," she told. Not even letting Hyeri respond, Jinsoul pulled the girl with her as they knocked on the door.

Hyeri was somehow nervous. It would be her first time meeting Jinsoul's family and surely she doesn't know how they would treat her. Would they be happy to see her there? Or not because she ruined something? Only time knows.

After some few knocks from Jinsoul, the door finally opened which made Hyeri freeze though the older girl was there to squeeze her hands in reassurance.

"Oh Jinsoul, you finally decided to show up."

Mr. Jung or Jinsoul's dad nonchalantly stated. His looks were intimidating which caused the panda to wish she was eaten by the ground.

"Dad," said Jinsoul before releasing a chuckle, playfully punching her father's shoulder. Soon enough, the man snorted and laughed hysterically, "I was just kidding! It's nice seeing you again, sweetheart and nice to meet you too, young lady," he greeted referring to Hyeri as he flashed a bright smile in which the panda happily reciprocated it.

The smiling man lead them inside, then to the kitchen where the others were patiently waiting for the two to arrive. "Finally! Just on time actually, mom also finished steaming the dumplings. Lucky for you two, I didn't emptied everything on the table yet."

"Oh isn't that a good news that you finally learned self-control, huh?" Jinsoul teased, sitting at the chair in front of her brother as Hyeri sat beside her. "You two are at it again, we have a guest here. Aren't you guys ashamed?" Mrs. Jung or Jinsoul's mom scolded the two siblings as she carefully placed the dumplings on the table.

"I'm sure Hyeri-ssi wouldn't mind," said her brother afterwards earning a warning smack from their mother. Hyeri chuckled at the family's silliness, it reminds her of her own family. "Anyway, it's nice to finally meet you in personal, Hyeri-ssi."

Mr. Jung laughed although not that loud this time, "Don't be nervous around us, we don't invite people to dinner and murder them afterwards." Hyeri took his joke and laughed along with the man.

"I like you. Everyone in this household takes my jokes seriously which made it not fun and exciting, this got to be a first time."

"Your jokes are dark and seriously not worth laughing at, honey."

Jinsoul chuckled, her eyes going crescent as her lips curved up in a smile, "Hyeri over here makes dark jokes so I guess you two will really get along with each other, she probably learned it from Olivia."

"Alright, that's enough. It's not nice to let the food wait so let's eat. I know all of you are hungry."

——

The five of them spent the hours eating while sharing about some stories that happened in their lives, some are serious and some were funny.

It was almost sunset when they had finished eating. Thanking Jinsoul's parents for a wonderful meal and a fun talk, bidding their goodbyes before leaving the place.

"How was it?"

"I felt like I was a girlfriend whom you introduced to your family," Hyeri laughed but didn't last long when Jinsoul spoke, "Aren't you?"

The panda began choking on nothing, the older was there to pat her back while breaking out into laughter. Hyeri glared at Jinsoul because of that as she began to threw punches at her.

The older girl raised her hands in surrender, a sign to let her live in peace, "We've got one more stop left before finally going back home."

Once again giving the panda no chance to react,  Hyeri had been pulled by annexciting Jinsoul.

After some few walks, Hyeri found herself in a beach. Lots of people were there but few enough to enjoy the relaxing ocean breeze, the sound of waves and the beautiful view of the sunset just right in front.

The older girl had removed her coat, gently placing it down the ground as Jinsoul once more dragged Hyeri down to sit with her.

"Scoot closer over here, you're going to share your coat with me," Jinsoul demanded, pulling the girl close to her before cuddling herself in Hyeri's coat.

"Well, this is nice," Hyeri started, "It has been a while since I've watched the sun set in a beach. It's relaxing and made me forget about everything that has happened today."

"I planned all of this and you're just going to forget them? How nice of you," Jinsoul scoffed as a pout appeared on her face. "You do know it's just an expression, right?" said Hyeri before letting out a chuckle.

Silence. None of the two spoke for the past few minutes, they were just happily admiring the view in front. The relaxing sound of crashing waves and cold spring breeze.

"Thank you."

Hyeri unintentionally breaking the silent atmosphere, making Jinsoul surprised but not surprised enough to flinch. "What for?" she asked.

"For planning this whole thing just for me, dumdum. I appreciate it," thanked Hyeri, side-hugging the older girl. Jinsoul snapped her head up from the panda's shoulder before giving her a kiss on the forehead which caught Hyeri off guard, "You're welcome, Panpan~ I wish we could spend more days like this. Just you and me."

"We will, don't worry."

——

After watching the sunset, the two eventually came back home as planned. They were tired but it was a fun day out and was worth it.

Hyeri accidentally taking a nap while they were on the train back home though Jinsoul let her be since she know she was exhausted. Jinsoul only woke her up when they arrived.

Once they have reached home, Hyeri was immediately welcomed by a grumpy Hyejoo but the panda ignored her due to how sleepy she was and quickly headed to their shared room to continue her nap, not even bothering to change her clothes.

"Where did you two went?" asked Hyejoo to Jinsoul who had a toothy grin as she shrugged her shoulders, "It was a date, I guess."

The older girl left the wolf alone after saying what needs to be said. She was left dumbfounded and everyone who was there witnessed how Hyejoo gritted her teeth.

The wolf wasn't convinced enough with Jinsoul's answer so later that night, she sneaked onto the OEC room. Making sure no one was awake, she took Hyeri's phone to see where did they really went since the panda usually saves everything what happened on her phone.

And that's when she realized that Jinsoul was saying the truth when she saw numerous of the two out on a so-called date. Her eyes went darker when she saw a picture of them with Jinsoul's family.

Although one picture really caught her eye and that was the recent photo Hyeri took.

Hyejoo stared at the picture of the them; Jinsoul leaning onto Hyeri's shoulder while the panda leaned back on the older's head, the setting sunlight beaming onto their faces making them look stunning but Hyejoo gave no attention to that.

She payed more attention on how they look like a couple on their date. The idea doesn't fail to make Hyejoo clench her fist out of jealousy.

"The game is on, Jung Jinsoul."
