Title: Trouble

"oh c'mon, haejin eonni! it's only a game, you're such a boomer, " yerim yelled, as the mentioned girl was receiving punches from her. oh, wait, let me rephrase that: from the three of THEM. "yerim eonni is right! it won't hurt to play truth or dare with us," yeojin, the bean, stated.

"yes, there's nothing wrong with playing truth or dare, but doing so with you three will put my life in jeopardy. aish, just leave me be and have fun on your own."

haejin expected them to constantly pout and whine, but to her surprise, they did the exact opposite, making her want to flee. looking at hyejoo's sneer, haejin realized this was going to be the last of her.

she never spoke, never made a sound, but the look in hyejoo's eyes told haejin exactly what she was about to do and that was literally always the scariest thing for haejin to witness.

everyone knew very well that the three maknaes would never fail to persuade someone. despite the fact that haejin is aware of this, she continues to refuse, expecting that they will eventually understand and leave her alone, but to her disappointment, the three girls would never buy it.

at the very least, i'm the first person to try to persuade them, haejin pondered as she shrugged her shoulders, "it's better to die with a title."

"quit smirking you creeps, go on and start your game already," haejin demanded, only to increase the creepy smirks.

     "yah," haejin warned.

hyejoo started, "alright alright, we will...

...only if you will join us," hyejoo added.

     "i told you already, i don't wa—"

"otherwise, we'll inform haseul eonni that you're seeing someone else!" hyejoo threatened. hearing the wolf's remarks, caused the oldest amongst them to widen her eyes. the three younger girls gave each other high-fives as they cheered.

"don't you dare spread false informations, you rascals. this is going off the rails."

"oh we dare, it won't be our loss anyway."

     "..."

haejin's lips formed a thin line, as the prospect of joining them still made her shudder with horror.

she hesitates, but she doesn't want haseul to hear such a thing, despite the fact that she knows the girl isn't readily convinced, especially when there aren't enough proofs. nonetheless, she doesn't want haseul to lose the most beautiful smile she has ever seen.

"haha you won't do it anyway...right?" haejin chuckled uneasily. her frown was swiftly replaced by gritted teeth at the notion of witnessing haseul cry because of phony rumors about her.

"what's your choice, eonni?" smirks remained on their faces as they inquired.

haejin's gaze drifted aimlessly, looking for a way out of the danger that lay front of her. her body grew cold, and her current mindset was to flee from these devil-in-disguise people, with sweats apparent flowing down her cheeks and her teeth chattering in panic.

"ah shi—alright, i'll j-join," haejin stuttered as the three younger girls smiled triumphantly before high-fiving each other once more. "just don't you three dare cut things up with me and haseul," the oldest advised, "you know how dear she is to me."

"ew lovebirds but no worries, eonni. and we promised to go easy on you," yeojin smiled reassuringly, but the sneaky grins of the other two didn't help to ease haejin down.

     "alright finally, let's begin!"

——

the game went well for the oldest, perhaps because she kept picking truth rather than dare.

who knows, maybe i'll be at my grave by now if i chose a dare, she trembled in terror for the nth time by just imagining it.

"ah eonni, you are really no fun! can't you pick dare for once?!" yeojin whined as she threw tantrums like a small child who didn't get what she wanted because her mother refused.

haejin stuck her tongue out, giving her a sly taunting smile. "sorry kiddo, choosing dare is too risky especially when playing this game with people like you three. this is a life or death situation."

the oldest swore to herself that she had seen hyejoo pull off another wicked grin, implying that she had come up with yet another insane notion. the wolf then drew the other two towards her for a brief rendezvous.

something tells me that today is not gonna be my lucky day, haejin sighed in nervouness.

with weird grins plastered on their faces, the three finally ended their brief meeting, "oh god, stop with the smirks— i swear, i'm gonna call a priest. you kids must've been possessed!"

"okay, eonni, how about this. because you were being an unfair player who kept picking truth and did not even choose dare, we decided to set up regulations that you will be punished for not choosing dare the entire game," yerim made an announcement.

"hey! that's not necessary," haejin said, her eyes widening in surprise.

"sorry but it is unavoidable. we started the game, therefore the rules are up to us, and it's unfair for you to keep picking truth over the other while we chose both the entire game. this game has two options for a reason," hyejoo smiled triumphantly, as it was yeojin's turn to stick out her tongue at the oldest amongst them.

haejin mentally cursed knowing that the three is unrealistically unbeatable. dear god, please lead me along my path as i face this life challenge you have provided for me.

     "so, as for your dare...

...you must message the last person in your message list, say that you love her and you want to be with her forever!" they said in unison which made haejin's eyes grew wide even more.

"see?! that is seriously going to get me in trouble, and—how can you three be so sure that it would be a her?" haejin's brows knitted together as she clenched her fists, trying not to erupt.

the three snorted, giggling wildly at the elder's remark. "pft, you never liked guys so are we going to expect that you are talking with any of those men?"

haejin froze, I—they got a point on that one.

her rage subsided when she realized but not sure that jungeun was the last person in her text message list.

the last time haejin and jungeun spoke was a week ago, and they were assisting each other with their girlfriends, which was difficult at first but they quickly adjusted.

she's confident that jungeun will immediately recognize that it's all a prank, so there's no need to be concerned, right?

her face lit up with a smile as she immediately snatched her phone from the coffee table. the three were confused by haejin's confident and pleased expression on her face, but they waited for the older to finish the dare.

she didn't have time to look at the contact names since she was so focused on proving to the three girls that she could pass their challenge. after finishing, haejin smiled confidently as she swiftly typed and hit the send button.

Seo Haejin
hey! i love you and
i would love to spend the rest of my life with you>_<

"ha! you three thought that I can't do it huh, it was a good thing that jungeun was the last person on my list," with a taunting expression on his face, haejin celebrated before mockingly pointed her fingers at the three.

"let me see whether you actually did it," yeojin said as she took the older girl's phone and looked at the message she had sent. they all stared at haejin's phone, realizing that she really had done it. they pouted and groaned in defeat.

     TING!

haejin's phone rang, signaling that a text message had been received. because the phone's owner was out celebrating, the three of them opened the message themselves.

Ha Sooyoung
oh
changed your mind I see;)
sure haejin, let's spend the rest of our lives together
oh and, i love you too:*

the three maknaes smirked at each other before staring at the oldest girl in the room who was still celebrating, "looks like someone got herself in trouble," hyejoo teased, attracting haejin's attention before heading towards them and taking her phone back from yeojin's grip.

"oh quit messing around olivia, i didn't get myself in...trouble," haejin's voice sank as she read the person's reply as well as the name she mistook for jungeun.

haejin sent the text to the wrong number, the wrongest number she could've sent it to.

"i wish you good luck with whatever life issues you are going to face, eonni," yerim stroked the older's back, chuckling as the other two did the same, leaving haejin alone in the room, still dumbfounded.

holy shi— out of all the people i could've sent it to, WHY DOES IT GOT TO BE MY EX?!
