Chapter 6: Its Crime Time!
A week has passed since Y/n and Cassandra had moved to South Park. There was a short investigation into the fire alarm fiasco, but no one cared enough to find out who was behind it. Days went on as usual, with Y/n making small talk with Kenny and Cassandra doing more research on the vigilante that could jeopardize their chances at robbing the towns banks. At the moment, they were discussing what they had learned over lunch.
"...And apparently, there are MORE superheroes! When they were all around 9, they worked together to uncover some conspiracy about people putting CAT PEE in DRUGS! It's fucking weird, but also pretty damn awesome at the same time." Cassandra's eyes were wide with wonder as she told the story to Y/n, and while she was smiling, a pit of dread was beginning to grow in Y/n's stomach. Dealing with one hero was going to be tough, but a whole team of them sounded almost impossible. "They called themselves 'Freedom Pals.' Fortunately for us, they decided to break up. The fewer justice-lovers for us to deal with, the better. Also, I saw online that..."
Y/n couldn't help but tune Cassandra out. It's not that she was doing it on purpose, but she had noticed that Kenny and his group of friends were sitting at the table in front of theirs. Something about that boy was intriguing to Y/n. It might've been his flirtatious charm or his good looks. "No, it's not that." She thought to herself. She just felt kind of... drawn to him, like a moth drawn to a flame. "Ok, that sounds a bit creepish Y/n."
Y/n kept staring at him. He seemed to be in a heated discussion with the other boys at his table. Out of the boys there, she recognized Stan, Kyle, and Cartman. She was also taken aback when she noticed Craig was there too, sitting next to a twitching boy with spiked blonde hair. "Small world, I guess." Suddenly, Y/n saw Kenny looking directly at her. He must have noticed her watching him. They held eye contact for a second before Y/n gave him a small smile. He grinned back at her and gave a small wave.
"...And THEN it turned out that Mint Berry Crunch was an ACTUAL ALIEN with ACTUAL SUPERPOWERS, so... wait a second. Y/n, are you paying attention?" Y/n snapped out of her thoughts and faced her sister. "Uh, what?" Cassandra looked behind her to see what Y/n was staring at and exhaled in an irritated tone when she saw Kenny.
"Y/n, I think it's cool that you made a friend, but you making goo-goo eyes at blondie over there is making me lose my appetite." Y/n tensed. "I am not making goo-goo eyes at Kenny." She scoffed. Cassandra rolled her eyes. "Oh really? N/n, I'm not an idiot. I see the way you look at him at the bus stop." Y/n blushed profusely and hid her face in her s/t hands. "Can we just talk about something else?" She muffled quietly. Cassandra gave an amused chuckle. "If you'll actually listen this time, sure. What do you wanna talk about?"
Y/n pondered for a moment. She then remembered something. "What about Crime Time? When're we doing that?"
All the color in Cassandra's face drained. She slapped her hand onto her forehead and cursed. "SHIT! We've been so busy lately that I forgot about CRIME TIME of all things! CRIME TIME!"
Crime Time, as Y/n and Cassandra lovingly referred to it, was when V/n and Virus pulled off a heist of some sort for the first time in a new town. They made it a sisterly tradition, and they even had a scrapbook for it, with a page dedicated to each Crime Time committed.
"Now hold on, there's no need to freak out. We can do Crime Time tonight!" Cassandra looked at her sister uncertainly. "Tonight? But we haven't even planned anything..." Y/n smirked. "Actually, while I was looking around town, I saw an ATM. It'll be easy." Cassandra looked hesitant but sighed in defeat. "Alright, fine. It's not the most exciting Crime Time we've ever done, but we need the money." Y/n smiled and reached across the table to give Cassandra a reassuring shoulder squeeze. "I could blow it up once I'm done, if that helps." Cassandra grinned widely. "Awe, you always know how to cheer me up Y/n. Thanks." Y/n giggled. "No prob, sis."
*~*~*~*~*
Y/n looked out of her bedroom window. The sun was sinking into the horizon, it's pale orange and pink colors mixing with the now black colors of the sky. She sighed. Something about nighttime would really excite her. Usually, it was because she was about to go out as V/n to rob some banks (and maybe, blow something up.) Tonight though, she had to play it safe. The vigilante could be patrolling any part of town at any time, and she was praying he wouldn't be where she was going to be.
Y/n quietly slipped into her costume. She admired herself in her mirror contently, then grabbed her signature f/w before stepping outside to meet Cassandra. Cassandra was playing around with some sort of gadget, then looked up to notice Y/n in her V/n costume. She herself was in her Virus costume, which consisted of a gas mask and a black and blue striped shirt.
"Hey there, ready to go?" V/n smiled at her partner. "Yeah, I guess. Just a little nervous." Virus laughed and wrapped his arm around V/n. "Don't be worried, Even if you DO cross paths with that guy, (which is highly unlikely on its own) you'll have your sweet combat skills to back you up! Not to mention I'll be with you the whole time." Virus pulled a small microphone out of his pocket and gently hooked it onto V/n's ear.
V/n exhaled and smiled cheerily. "Alright, I'm ready."
