💔
It's been a month. Do you miss me like I miss you? Do you still love me like I love you? Do you still think about me like I think of you?
Jungkook sighs sadly, staring at the small purple paper in front of him. The words he wrote on it hit hard and deep. He felt the usual tears springing to his eyes, trying to stop them, but not succeeding.
It had been a month. A month since they had parted ways. And it hurt.
Taehyung had left him. And he hasn't stopped thinking about it. He kept telling himself that he wasn't enough for him, but Jimin, his best friend, kept telling him he was, and that he shouldn't beat himself up about it.
Deciding to listen to music to try and get his mind off of his ex, Jungkook shook his head, taking his phone and connecting it to his speaker, pressing shuffle on his spotify playlist.
The song played "Lay Me Down" by Sam Smith.
His breath hitches.
He remembers when Taehyung played this song the night when they had sex for the first time. He was so gentle, treating Jungkook like the most precious flower, softly fucking into him like he would break like porcelain. But it only took one plead and he was pounding into him, per request of the younger boy.
The song made it so much more romantic, and the memory stays fresh in Jungkook's mind. Taehyung had made him feel so special, that he felt like shit the day they broke up.
He presses shuffle again, refusing to emote again at the song.
This time it played "One Thing" by One Direction.
Fuck.
Taehyung had sung this song to Jungkook when he asked the boy to his boyfriend. It was so special. He had invited the youngest to his mansion, telling him that the boys were coming too, for a 'bro night', or whatever.
He had been told by the maid to go to the backyard, where Taehyung lay in a hammock in between two strong trees. The two had cuddled, the light of the fairy lights strung on the flower bushes and leaves of the trees giving them a perfect sight of eachother's faces. They were so close, closer than they've ever been before they became a couple.
It was there he took Jungkook's first kiss, and he had sung to the boy, asking afterwards for him to be his boyfriend.
Their friends had appeared absolutely out of nowhere and had thrown rose petals everywhere on top of them. Taehyung then had given him a necklace that had a tiger charm on it, along with a rose, saying, "None of these will ever he as beautiful as you."
Wiping the tears he now didn't know were rolling out on his cheeks, he reached for a little scrapbook. Opening it, he immediately saw where a pressed, dead rose sat in the middle of the page, where his small writing on the bottom said, "April 4. The rose Taehyungie gave me when he asked me to be his."
He choked back a sob, closing the book quickly, not wanting to read the other pages that held more memories of the older boy, captured in pictures.
"Jungkook? You here?" A voice suddenly says, and the boy pauses his music quickly, standing up to open his door for Jimin.
"Hey Chim." he says, mustering a smile. But the older knew better. He recognized the bloodshot eyes, the tear stained cheeks, and the wet shirt that was probably what he used to wipe all the remnants of his emotions.
It didn't work.
"You're still crying over Tae, huh?" he says sadly. He hated seeing his best friend like this, so pale, so broken. Truly, he was messed up.
Because of Taehyung.
"Come on, let's go over to Jin's. He said that he wants to cook for us. He said something about being lonely." he says, pulling the boy to his closet, quickly bringing out a maroon hoodie, black jeans, and a pair of socks.
Jungkook stiffened a bit when he realized the hoodie was Taehyung's, when the boy came over and the two had a sleepover. He had forgotten it, and Jungkook remembers sleeping in it multiple times, before forgetting about it. He sniffed it, and surely, it still smelled like Taehyung. It had not been washed for about a month, but since it had just been in the closet, Jungkook decides to wear it.
Jimin was giving fashion advice left and right that Jungkook was confused. "We're just going to Jin hyung's house. I'm fine, don't worry." he chuckles dryly, tying the shoelace of his black converse. He runs a hand through his hair, spraying on a splash of flowery cologne.
He puts on his circular glasses, and with shaking fingers, he puts on the necklace with the tiger charm. Jimin catches the hesitation, but he smiles fondly when the boy puts it on, braving the pain. He's been in Jungkook's shoes so much times, and he can imagine what shit the younger was sadly going through.
The two leave the house, saying bye to Jungkook's mother, and Jimin drives the two to Jin's place, feeling a bit sad that he had to see his best friends so sad.
Because he had been to Taehyung's house previously, and he felt his happy mood deflate even more when he remembers everything that happened.
The boy had been huddled in his blankets, eyes resembling waterfalls, and he was full on sobbing as he played Infinity by One Direction on repeat. Jimin had sighed, taking the boy's phone to press shuffle again to change the song.
But his sobbings increased more when it played "Half A Heart", again by One Direction. He had noticed the boy was crying into Jungkook's white shirt, and he had a necklace around his neck.
It was a necklace, very identical to the one he had given Jungkook, but it had a bunny charm on it. Taehyung had received it on their one month anniversary. It was the only anniversary they experienced, since they didn't want to be like those couples who went all out on monthsaries. They found it weird, but they still went out on dates nonetheless for little celebrations. And of course, they had only been together for four months so their one year anniversary was never experienced.
Jimin had stayed with his best friend for three hours before leaving, saddened that his efforts didn't achieve anything, for Taehyung was still crying when he left.
Snapping out of his thoughts, he pulls up in front of Jin's house. He had recently moved in with his wife, and he had been having the boys for company since then.
"It sounds pretty noisy in there. Are you sure it's just us, Chim?" Jungkook asks, fiddling with his sweater paws as they walk to the front door, as Jimin rings the door bell.
"Uhm, actually, Jin invited us all over. Yoonie, Hobi, Joonie, and-"
The white door opens, and a particular boy stands in the entrance, grey hair falling over his brown eyes, and a little bunny charm necklace hanging on his neck. The boys feel their breaths hitch, and hearts stop.
"K-Koo..."
"T-Taehyungie..."
