"Please, sit." Tony motions towards the chair diagonal from the couch he relaxes back into to. He starts scanning through June's resume, making little hums and nods of approval as he does. June takes a seat slowly, crossing her legs as Happy glances over Tony's shoulder.
"Oh, geez!" Tony jumps, looking up to him. "You're still here?" He puts his hand dramatically over his chest. "Hap, relax. Go pour yourself a drink or something." Happy eyes June one more time before grumbling as he heads back over to the elevator.
"See something you like?" June speaks up, gaining Tony's attention once again.
"Oh yes, very much." He sends her a chipper smile. "On the resume of course." He chuckles, looking back down. "Stanford, huh?"
"Master's degree in mechanical engineering, yes sir." June beams proudly.
Tony can't help but look at her in awe. "Mechanical Engineering you say?"
"That's right." She nods.
"You know I'm a bit of mechnical engineer myself, right? I create my own suits." Tony has to brag a little bit.
"Suits?" June questions.
"Iron Man. Iron Man suits." Tony boasts.
"Ah, right. You're one of the superhero's everyone's buzzing about nowadays." June shakes her head knowingly.
"What, you're not a fan?" Tony asks curiously and amused.
"I never said that." June smiles with ease.
"Okay so who's your favorite Avenger then? And please don't say Captain America." Tony groans.
"Is this part of my interview, Mr. Stark?" June tilts her head to the side.
"Why yes, yes it is." Tony folds his hands together, leaning forward ever so slightly. "It's very important actually."
June puts on her thinking face. "Well I must say the blonde one with muscles is quite handsome." She smirks.
Tony rolls his eyes, but chuckles. "I'm going to allow that, only because what you said is true."
"So what other interview questions do you have for me, sir?"
"You have no experience in personal care, assisting, or managing, is that correct?" Tony asks, shutting the resume folder.
"It is. But I'm willing to learn." June answers well, and confidently.
"And what made you want to take this position to do that?" Tony continues. Every other person he's interviewed today has said something along the lines of "for the money" or "because you're Tony Stark" but he had a feeling June would answer differently.
She looks down, staring at the glass table for a minute. Apparently the question was much more loaded for her than it was anyone else. She clears her throat. "A fresh start."
Tony smiles genuinely at her, rather than giving his playboy smirk. "That's exactly what I'm looking for too. So what is it you like to do for fun, Miss Thompson? Other than mechanical engineering of course."
"Are you asking me what my hobbies are, Mr. Stark?" June raises a brow, now she is the amused one.
"Well, if I'm going to be living with someone, I would like to make sure they're not a complete bore. Don't tell me.... Chess? Origami?"
"I'm sorry, you said live with?" June stops him.
"That is what a live-in position is Miss Thompson," Tony chuckles. "Were you not aware of those terms?"
"I was not." She answers honestly, looking down to her hands.
"Is that going to be a problem?" Tony is now on the edge of his seat, anticipating the perfect interview to finally come to an end.
"Not a problem at all." She raises back up, a smile dancing on her painted lips. "I'm between houses anyways." She waves it off. "I do yoga every morning. And I enjoy cooking, mostly healthy though. Are those interesting enough for you, Mr. Stark?"
Tony had absolutely no complaints. She by far blew the rest of the candidates out of the water, experience or not. Experience was completely overrated to Tony in this moment. And Happy will enjoy the healthy cooking part, for Tony's sake.
After a few minutes of silence, he finally stands and June follows.
"Miss Thompson, I believe you're hired." He flashes her a big 'Tony Stark' pearly white smile and holds out his hand.
"What!" Happy shouts from the other room.
"I gladly accept, Mr. Stark." She places her hand in his. "When do I start?"
"As soon as possible." Tony places his other hand on top of hers. "And please, call me Tony. Mr. Stark was my father."
A tight-lipped smiles washes over June's face. "Of course."
"Happy will gladly show you the way out. I can send movers wherever you need first thing tomorrow morning." Tony nods at a fast-moving Happy who is coming towards their direction.
"No need, I know the way." They release hands and she grabs her resume. "I'll see you boys tomorrow then." She nods to Tony, then to Happy as she swiftly walks past him.
"And I am so taking your high-heel-security suggestion!" Tony calls out to her. "Happy will get right on that." He points and winks to Happy as he swipes his drink back up and saunters towards downstairs.
"Do you really think that was the best idea?" Happy follows hastily. "She doesn't seem qualified."
Tony pauses, spinning around, and pushes the drink to Happy's chest. "I think she's more than enough qualified, Hapster." Happy reaches up and takes the glass. "Relax. What could possibly go wrong with her that would be any worse than with all the others?"
"I don't know sir... That's what I'm afraid of." Happy admits quietly. Happy doesn't want to see Tony go through anymore problems or soufflés, or have to go through anything himself-especially after everything that had happened the past winter. Sure he's a little too high strung and paranoid, but that's not only what makes him a good head of security, that's what makes him a great friend.
"You know buddy, you worry too much." Tony puts his hand on Happy's shoulder. "I think this'll be a great change for us, me."
"And it has nothing to do with her being very, very beautiful?" Happy shifts to a lighter side of the subject.
Tony laughs, squeezing Happy's shoulder before turning back around to head off downstairs once again. "I don't know what you mean. I only checked out her resume."
"Yeah, right, her resume." Happy rolls his eyes, but let's out a chuckle.
For the first time since Pepper left, Tony seems excited about something, someone. And for the first time since she left, he's going downstairs to his work station.

Meanwhile outside, June has just exited the very large, very gorgeous, expensive Stark mansion, just as her phone rings. She smirks at the caller id before answering right away.
"How'd it go?" A man asks.
"Everything went perfectly according to plan." She responds smoothly.
"So that means we can proceed, yes?" The man checks.
"I'm moving in tomorrow, so I'd say yes, our plan is going very, very well." June reports. "Even faster than we thought it would." She adds with a sly smile.
"Excellent, well done." The man compliments. "I'm very proud of you."
"Will that be all?" June asks.
"Until tomorrow." The man answers.
June clicks the red button, ending the call. She glances back over her shoulder at her future home, before getting in the car that was waiting for her.
"Until tomorrow." She repeats and with that slams the door.
