| Alternate Ending: Part 1 |

Italics: (Na'vi language, Metkayina sign language, and Jake's inner thoughts)
A/N: Okay this is the end of the line :,) I hope you guys enjoy this! I worked super hard on it to make up for the sadness I caused you all shsj also, I omitted a few parts from the movie so the chapter wouldn't be insanely long.
There was a reason why I had to divide the final battle into like 4 different chapters lmao
Also I have to divide the alternate ending or else this would be way too long for what I have planned. Hope you like it nonetheless!

After the Metkayina warriors with Tonowari and Ronal left the village along with you and Jake to go after the Sky People, the group was now heading directly towards Three Brothers Rocks where the Sully kids and Tsireya were being held. You were still flying on Aio in the skies, staying alert on everything you saw while Jake stayed on his Skimwing riding along the Olo'eyktan and Tsahik in the front lines. As soon as you left the village, your mind went into straight overdrive with anxiety and distress to save your children and the others.
You didn't even notice that you had gotten a lot more ahead than the Metkayina on the way to Three Brothers Rocks. You could see in the distance the Sky People SeaDragon ship, and you soon realized that you got there a lot quicker than you thought you would. You turned to look behind you and realized that the group wasn't here yet, and that you must've been the first one to get here. You turned to look forward again, and continued to fly on Aio high above the clouds so the presence of your Ikran stayed hidden from below on the ship.
It had completely gone over your head to call in Jake and tell him where you were. You still had your coms on so you figured this would be a good chance to update him on your position, since he probably lost sight of you. As if on cue, you heard radio chatter through your coms and soon heard Jake's voice through the earpiece.
"Y/n. Where are you? I can't see you anywhere. Where'd you go?" Jake asked hurriedly and with concern. You could hear the crashing of choppy and harsh waves in the background which meant that they were still on their way, and close enough to most likely be at open sea.
"Ma Jake. I see the demon ship. I will stay hidden for now, but I'll keep an eye out for the kids if I see them," You said, pressing in the buttons of the coms. Jake's breath hitched at your words. You were by yourself out there, and that scared him to unmeasurable lengths.
"Do not engage, Y/n. Stay where you are. Wait until we get there, it won't be long," Jake warned with worry. He didn't want you jumping into action without a plan right away. You could figure something out together when he arrived, but in the pit of his stomach, he could sense that the moment the kids got into view, you would jump into action for them with no hesitation. You stayed quiet after he said those words, not trusting yourself to stay on the side if your children came into view.
He couldn't risk you getting captured as well, even if he knew well that you were more than capable of handling yourself. Still, those fears never dissolved in his head and his mind would never be at ease until he saw you and knew that you were okay. He just prayed in his head that you would wait for him and the others. They needed to be smart about this, because the lives of their kids, along with Tonowari and Ronal's as well, were in extreme jeopardy.
The situation with the kids in the forest of algae below the surface was not any better.
Soldiers on submarines were closing in on the kids no matter how much they tried to escape.
Tsireya held Tuk's hand tightly as she helped her swim along the water, all the while Lo'ak tried his best close by trying to escape those who were pursuing them, and hopefully create a diversion. When the three of them came into a big clearing with no algae, a submarine appeared from their right side around the corner, and this made the group to start moving the other way, scrambling to get out of sight. The submarine only got closer, outrunning the kids by a long shot, and the woman controlling it was ready to capture them by using a net attached on the side.
"Reset. Switching. Fire," The woman said, and a second later, a capsule was launched which opened into a net and was shot directly at the group. Not having time to react, Tsireya, Tuk, and Lo'ak were trapped inside it. Lo'ak was able to slip out, but the two girls were still inside it. The princess noticed Tuk's distress and held her hand, helping her calm down.
Before they could even attempt to escape, Lyle and Quaritch suddenly dove down below the water on their Ikrans, heading straight for the net. The Colonel reached the net and had his Ikran grab onto it, starting to drag the kids up to the surface with Lo'ak hanging onto the side of it, refusing to let go and leaving Tsireya and Tuk to be taken by Quaritch like this. He still had his dagger so maybe he could cut them out.
When they were above the surface, the Ikrans screeched and shook off the water by flapping their wings with strained motions. Lyle had his Ikran hold another side of the net while Quaritch held the other, and that way, the kids had no openings to escape as they took them back to the ship. "Hold on!" Lo'ak yelled out as Tsireya and Tuk screamed for help.
Lo'ak took out his dagger from the holder on his hip and began cutting through the rope of the net. "Watch out! Move your hand!" Lo'ak warned, not wanting to hurt them in the process. They were getting closer to the SeaDragon, and once they got there, it would be a lot harder to get out. It was probably full of soldiers and they were just kids. "Hurry! Hurry!" Tsireya called out, seeing the net approach the big ship more and more.
Unfortunately, Lo'ak couldn't cut the net in time. Lyle and Quaritch were able to bring the net over the top deck and began lowering it down. Tuk screamed in fear as this happened. Lo'ak was still hanging onto the side. When the net was lowered onto the deck, Tsireya and Tuk were still tangled up in it. Since Lo'ak was outside, he turned around to see soldiers closing in on him with guns. The boy held his dagger tight, hissing at anyone who came close.
"Drop the weapon! Put it down!" One of the Avatar soldiers said, but Lo'ak did no such thing. He only hissed at them and attempted to strike, but was unfortunately caught by his arm, forcing him to drop his knife as a soldier continued to push him down by his shoulder. Lo'ak was forced to lay on his stomach, all while another Avatar soldier came around and put a foot in his back, telling the boy to stay down, even as he fought his restraints.
You had continued to overlook the ship from above, and as soon as you saw your children and Tsireya being dragged over in a net over to the top deck, your heart sank. You looked back and around the perimeter, but there was no sign of the Metkayina or Jake at all. You turned to look at your children again, your anxiety and anger increasing at how those Avatar soldiers and Sky People were handling them, as if they were ragdolls. You wanted to so badly go down there and take them down, but you couldn't. Not yet. At least that's what one half of your mind was saying. The other half only insisted on going down there and freeing your kids and Tsireya, even if it meant you ended up getting captured as a result. You'd take that risk.
Tsireya and Tuk eventually freed themselves of the net but when they did, they were met with soldiers clamoring at them to stop resisting. "Put the weapons down!" An Avatar soldier yelled out, trying to grab ahold of Tsireya as she tried to fight back but she ended up being forced down to the ground by her neck, groaning in discomfort and pain. As for Tuk, she hissed and took out her small knife, baring her baby teeth to the female Avatar who was trying to get ahold of the young Sully girl. "Drop the knife! Drop it!" The woman said, grabbing Tuk's forearm harshly, forcing the girl to drop the knife and yelp in resistance.
Out of the corner, Spider came running into the scene. Quaritch, who was still on his Ikran, wasn't surprised to see Spider down here. If anything, he'd be surprised if he didn't try to fight his way down to see his friends. "Hey! Hey! What are you doing? Stop!" Spider yelled as he ran to the Sullys but before he could get there, various soldiers held him back. "Stop! Don't hurt them!" Spider exclaimed, fighting with everything he could to save them.
Lo'ak hissed while being continued to be forced down by his shoulders with a gun pointed at him. "Stop moving!" The Avatar soldier who was holding him said, not sensing any forfeit from Lo'ak at all. When Lo'ak saw Spider, surprise and relief filled his mind. He knew he was taken by Quaritch, so Lo'ak was glad to see him again. "Spider," Lo'ak managed to say.
"Bro, are you okay?" Spider asked, which was a bit ironic considering the situation. Was he okay? He was being held down by two soldiers with a gun pointed at his head. So yeah, okay pretty much about covers it. "Yeah, great cuz'. Never better," Lo'ak forced out with his cheek pressed against the cold floor of the deck.
In the background, Tuk was resisting more than ever and wouldn't go down without a fight. The woman who was handling the 8-year-old looked as if she was flailing the poor girl around, but that was just Tuk trying to get free. The girl was forced onto her knees, along with Tsireya who realized it was pointless to even fight back at this point.
Spider nodded hesitantly before noticing that Quaritch hopped off his Ikran and unlatched his braid from the queue of the creature. The Colonel's view landed on Lo'ak first as he walked up to the boy, but then turned to look at Spider who was still being held back.
"Get back to the bridge," Quaritch ordered, and the soldiers did as told, pushing Spider back the other way. "Keep him there!" Quaritch exclaimed, watching as Spider was taken back. Spider was already annoyed as it is, so as he was taken back inside, he shook off the hold that the soldiers had on him. "I'm going! I'm going," He said with irritation, walking himself back inside, as much as he didn't want to.
Even if Lo'ak was being held down, he looked up at Quaritch with venom in his eyes. The boy hissed with menace, but it didn't faze Quaritch in the slightest. "Yeah, I remember you," Quaritch started, seeing the soldier behind Lo'ak starts to bring the boy up on his knees. He could see that Lo'ak took after you in many ways, and the boy resembled Jake a lot as well. The Colonel didn't say anything more, except bark out his next orders and commands.
"Cuff em' to the rail. All of them," Quaritch ordered, and with that, each soldier that was holding onto Tsireya, Tuk, and Lo'ak moved them closer to the railing of the deck. "Let's go! Move!" The woman who was holding Tuk said, already exasperated and angry by how much the little girl continued to resist even now.
Tsireya was the first to be cuffed down to it. She was brought over and a steel cuff attacked to a rod in between was placed on her right arm. "Over here," The man who was holding her glowered, kicking the back of her knees so she was kneeling. "Get on your knees," The man said, forcing her to be in that position as she groaned in discomfort, trying to break free.
As for Tuk, the woman was able to cuff the little girl down even with her screaming and resistance. When Tuk was on her knees and the woman had already attached the cuffs on one side, the female Avatar grabbed her other wrist, moved it to be below the pole, and attached the other side of the cuff to her wrist. "No," Tuk groaned, trying to pull on them even after being secured onto the railing.
Lo'ak was the one who least tried to fight against the cuffs. He had other plans in mind. He saw how Tsireya and Tuk were being treated, and all he could think about was the fact that they cannot show that they were breaking into their vulnerability and fear. They have to rise above monsters to defeat them. "Be brave," Lo'ak said, and Tuk and Tsireya heard him say this, stayed silent for a few seconds but then nodded hesitantly. Their parents were coming eventually, and they'd be saved.
As you watched your children continue to put up a fight against Quaritch and his men, you couldn't help but feel proud of how brave and courageous they were despite their age and situation. It's sad that they had to learn that from the traumatizing experiences they've had, but you knew it would only make them stronger. You only hoped it wouldn't lead to their demise, but you would prevent that.
Seeing them cuffed to the railing sparked rage inside of you, and completely forgetting what Jake told you to do, since your instincts only strengthened and you began to guide Aio down discreetly to do a sneak attack on them. Flying from above the clouds, you prepared your arrow directly at the Avatar men and women accompanying Quaritch. You would take care of him later with Jake if the opportunity came, but you knew that it was Jake's battle to finish.
Taking a deep breath, inhaling and exhaling, as you notched your first arrow and released it. With the accuracy you hoped for, the arrow hit right between the Avatar woman's eyes, which was the one that was in charge of cuffing Tuk. At the sudden attack, all soldiers raised their guns up defensively and aimed them at the direction that the arrow came from. You were still hidden above, so your cover hasn't been blown just yet. "Keep your eyes peeled!" Lyle yelled at the older Avatar soldiers around.
Nobody was able to see anything from their standpoint, and when a few minutes passed and nothing happened, everyone had gotten back to keeping Tsireya, Tuk, and Lo'ak in line. You decided to try something a bit more daring, so you grabbed three arrows and layed them on your bow evenly and hold it between each of your fingers, one on top of each ither on the the bow. With a yip loud enough for them to hear, the men on the ship snapped their heads to look the sound. You released the arrows and as a miracle, each one landed on a different soldier, killing them instantly.
This time, all soldiers began to shoot aimlessly upwards with their rifles but you flew higher up in the sky with a zig-zag motion. Quaritch's eyes narrowed suspiciously and ordered Lyle to mount his Ikran to go adter you. When connecting his queue and mounting the saddle, the second in command took to the skies and looked for the source of the sudden attack. Although, he did have an inkling on who it was based on how quickly Quaritch wanted to catch you and bring you down here. Using Jake's family as leverage would be much more effective if you joined the kids on the railing.
Knowing that Lyle was right on your tail, you immidiately started guiding Aio through the clouds as a diversion, but it was too late because the man was speeding straight towards you on his banshee. Unfortunately, the man didn't plan on catching you directly but just leading you to be right above the deck of the ship. Lyle raised his gun with accuracy and did something unimaginable; and that you thought would never happen ever again.
He fired and the bullets landed on Aio, killing him. Your ikran let out an agonizing screech, along with you screaming in pain from the bond (given that you felt what Aio felt) as both of you started to free fall uncontrollably onto the ocean. Now, all Lyle had to do was swoop down and grab onto you with his banshee's claws and start to carry you onto the ship.
As this happened and Lyle carried you away by your arms hooked on the banshee's claws, you grimaced and fought with all you had. In the corner of your eye, you saw Aio dropping down onto the ocean lifelessly, sinking in the water along with your father's bow. Tears streamed down your cheeks as you screamed both for help and in terror. Your kids recognized your screams and their heads quickly turned over to see you being brought over by Lyle on the claws of his bamshee. Lo'ak's blood ran cold and Tuk gasped. "Mama!" She yelled out for you.
"Y/n!" Tsireya called as she saw you being brought closer and closer to the deck that they were in. You continued to squirm and groaned with pain at the sharp claws digging into your skin. Soon enough, you were dropped onto the ship with a thud. You grunted and quickly gained your bearings again, standing up, pulling out your dagger. Tuk and Lo'ak began to fight even harder against their restraints, not wanting these people to hurt their mother.
Quaritch's comrades were about to surround you, but the Colonel raised up his hand, telling them to stop as he approached you instead. Your eyes narrowed with venom in your eyes, preparing your weapon with no fear.
As Quaritch approached you, Lo'ak became your savior and grabbed the man's attention. "Hey! Dumbass! Over here! I got myself free!" Lo'ak yelled out, making Quaritch's eyes widen and turn around. You took this as your opportunity and lunged a punch square in Quaritch's face, before he was able to fight back, you grabbed the back of his head and brought it down to your knee harshly.
The other Avatar soldiers prepared to attack, but once again, Quaritch raised his arm and stopped them. You looked at the Colonel quizzically, not knowing why he wasn't fighting back. Then again, he had blood dripping onto the floor and was now on his knees, holding his nose in discomfort. "Stand down," He said, and everyone immediately obeyed. A few seconds passed, and Quaritch surprised you by lunging straight at you and grabbing onto your arms, keeping them behind your back, and placing his knife on a dangerous place in your throat.
"You really are a bitch," Quaritch muttered as you continued to groan, trying to get yourself free. Your children looked on with fear for your life, hoping that Quaritch was human enough to spare you. You breathed heavily as you felt Quaritch dig his knife deeper and drawing blood. "You better hope that Sully comes to get you. You and I have unfinished business, Mrs Sully" Quaritch menaced, removing the knife from your neck and bringing you over to the railing, cuffing you right next to Lo'ak.
When your arms were brought forward and cuffed, you were forced to be on your knees. Lo'ak was right next to you, looking at his mother with concern and worry. Before you could speak to your son and check if he was okay, you suddenly recieved a kick from Quaritch to your stomach, making you double over and start coughing, since he knocked the air out of you. "Mom!" Lo'ak yelled, looking at Quaritch with pure rage. Before you could get up again, the Colonel hit your face with the butt of his rifle, and your nose started to throb painfully as blood started to fall down to your lips, leaving you gasping for breath.
You panted heavily after a few seconds and looked up at Quaritch with pure agony mixed with anger. The Colonel looked down at you with a smug expression, making your irritation grow. "Burn in hell..." You muttered, and the man only kneeled down in front of you to grab your face with one hand, uncomfortably holding onto your jaw and cheeks. The man inspected your face, moving his other hand to grab onto your braid and tugging on it hard. You screamed, refusing to look him in the eye.
"I didn't think you'd be this weak. Look at you, you can barely stand," He said tauntingly. You glared at him, and before you could even begin to let your mind think of something to say, he stood up and walked back to his comrades. You sighed and winced as you attempted to get up a little. Lo'ak scooted closer to you trying check on you. The sight was not a pleasant one. You had bruises all of your body and face, your eyes were half lidded, you had blood pouring down your nose, and the knife wound was still on your neck with blood staining your skin.
You could barely register what your kids were trying to say, but you could make out some things. "Mom. Hold on a little longer, alright. Dad will be here soon and he'll get us out of here," Lo'ak reassured and your face lit up slightly. That's right. Jake was on his way. He wouldn't be happy that you disobeyed him, but you knew a part of him wouldn't be surprised.
As if on cue, from around the farthest rock in the distance, the Metkayina warriors had arrived just in time. Yips and cries could be heard even from a distance, and the Skimwings were soaring through the air. At the sound of war cries, Lo'ak, Tuk, and Tsireya turned to see their people coming from around the corner. Jake was right in the front lines, and smiles couldn't help but come upon their faces. You were still a little out of it and your vision was dazed, but your ears didn't fail to decieve you, so you knew that the Metkayina had come.
Relief washed over the three kids, and you. Not only did those cries catch the attention of the kids but of Quaritch and his entire team on the top deck. "Na'vi inbound!" Lyle called out, raising his gun and suddenly making all soldiers straighten up to prepare for the battle that may begin at any time. "Weapons up! Lose left, spread out" Lyle ordered to the rest as all of the soldiers prepared and got into position.
"Dad!" Tuk beamed with a smile, knowing that her dad was right there. The Skimwings began to lower their wings and descend onto the water, using their tails to level their steering and maneuvering. The warriors, including Tonowari, Ronal, and Jake, all raised their weapons. Jake was riding right beside Tonowari. Your mate was holding his gun and the clan leader was holding his Olo'eyktan spear high in the air with tenacity and pride.
Seeing from afar that they were getting into position, Jake turned to Tonowari. "Stop. Stop them," Jake said, and the chief did as told, raising his spear, which made all of the warriors, including Ronal behind her mate, lower their Skimwings to the water and quiet down a bit for now. They needed to go about this in a smart way and not just jump into action when their children were right there. Your husband looked up in the skies and saw no sight of you, then he looked forward to the ship and could vaguely see a familiar figure chained to the rails along with the children.
From the SeaDragon, Quaritch moved to stand behind Lo'ak and proceeded to rip away the boy's coms from his neck, and the earpieces that allowed the boy to communicate with his father. The Colonel placed it in his ear and pressed the button in the coms to talk to Jake through them. "300 yards," Lyle said from afar.
Jake raised his gun and through the lenses of the weapon, he could see up close who exactly was up on that ship. Dread started to seep inside him, but now was not the time to let his fear come in. He zoomed in and saw Lo'ak and Tuk huddled close together, warming his heart and making concern set inside of him.
What made his heart drop to his stomach was seeing you cuffed to the ship in the worst condition that he has ever seen you in before. Scratches, bruises, blood pouring out if your nose and your neck, as well you looking like you could barely stand or breathe at all. "They got our kids," Jake started, pausing before preparing to say the next few words. "...and my wife," Jake's voice wavered, feeling his voice shake at even saying it out loud. The fact that you were covered, in what he hoped wasn't your blood, made his blood boil.
"Your daughter," He said to Tonowari, making the chief hiss with anger, along with Ronal too. The Tsahik had a pained expression, not believing that her previous daughter was really up there in the clutches of Sky People. Not only that, but Ronal's rage was growing more and more at the Sky People for taking away two of the most special people in her life hostage. She felt like you were someone she could trust and go to with anything now. A new friend that Ronal could rely on. And Tsireya, her sweet, sweet, daughter was taken unfairly when she has been nothing but an angel her entire life.
"Tuk, Lo'ak," Jake continued, no matter how much it hurt him to admit that his kids were in so much danger, along with his wife. How could he have allowed to let this happen at all? Jake moved the lens to look a bit upwards and he saw Quaritch wearing his son's coms. Deep down Jake knew you wouldn't stay idly by just waiting for their arrival, so he couldn't really blame you. He was aware that if it was him in your place, he would react the same way in extreme fear for your children's lives.
"Jake, tell your friends to stand down," Quaritch said, making Jake's eyes waver and eyebrows furrow. You were listening to the entire conversation as well, fear settling in a lot more now that you were coming back to
your senses. Just hearing Quaritch's voice again made your blood boil with anger. "If you want your kids and your wife back, you'll come out alone" Quaritch threatened, and his words made your eyes widen. Even Lo'ak was shaking his head 'no' at his dad. Is Jake going up to Quaritch alone? Against that entire fleet? Anguish mingled with distress inside you, hoping Jake would try to find another way. He can't go alone. You wouldn't bare it.
"You know better than to test my resolve," Quaritch said, pulling out a gun and pressing the barrel of it directly in the back of your head. Your kids' eyes widened. Tuk and Lo'ak immediately started fighting her restraints, deeply begging Quaritch not to hurt the boy. "Mom!" Lo'ak yelled, pleading for this man not to shoot. "Mama," Tuk's voice broke.
Jake's jaw clenched as he growled in anger with inner conflict and turmoil. He still had his gun raised as he looked through the lens. Jake lowered his gun as he hissed and his eye widened at such a cruel and unfair proposition. "I took you under my wing, Jake. You betrayed me. You killed your own. Good men, good women. I will not hesitate to execute your wife. After all, she owes me," Quaritch started, referring to when you killed him in his human life, and he wouldn't hesitte to return it to you.
The words of Quaritch made your heart drop to your stomach. How can somebody be so heartless? Would Quaritch really kill you without meaning just to get back at Jake? You feared for your own life but also for your kids' Tsireya's. They must be scared out of her minds, not to mention Tonowari and Ronal must be worried sick for her daughters' life. The Colonel's words made Jake suddenly press the buttons on his coms to reply. There had to be another way to resolve this. Just the thought of losing you because of his cowardly actions made his stomach churn and his heart rip apart. He wouldn't be able to live without you.
"Just wait one..." Jake trailed off, staying silent for a few seconds as he breathed heavily with distress and anguish. He turned to look at Tonowari and Ronal, who was looking straight at him to see what he would do. Jake turned back to look at the warriors and finally made his decision. This was his fight, not the Metkayina's. He couldn't bring anyone else into it, or more lives would be lost in the process. When Jake looked at Ronal, guilt started to sink in. You had told him all about your newfound friendship with her, and expressed how happy you were to have a new friend.
"Hold here," Jake said, holding his hand up, and hesitantly starting to move forward on his Skimwing alone. He would not hesitate anymore. He would save you and the kids, even if it cost him his life. Before he could get any further, Tonowari put his spear in front of Jake, blocking his path. "They are killers of Tulkun. They must die. Here, today" Tonowari said sternly and with resolve. Anyone who hurt his people or anyone who's dear to him had to come through the Olo'eyktan first.
Jake let out a shaky sigh. "It's me that they want. That's what all this had been about. Right? The hunting of the Tulkuns, the taking of our kids, the taking of...of my wife" Jake trailed off, choking on his words, and Tonowari stayed silent. Ronal didn't hesitate to speak what she had in her mind. "You brought this upon us! You!" Ronal said, angry for involving her people into this, and Jake looked down in shame but knew, even more, he knew what was the right thing to do now. "Well, then it's me who has to do this," Jake said, looking at Tonowari with resolve. The clan leader nodded with hesitation, moving his spear to point up.
From the ship, Lo'ak continued to look at his father, not knowing what he was saying or what he was trying to do. Your heart plummeted to your stomach when you could see through your distorted vision that Jake was coming over alone. "Offers fixing to expire, Sully. What's it gonna be?" Quaritch said, pressing the gun more to your head.
"Check your fire. I'm coming out," Jake said as he pressed the button in his coms. Jake moved his gun to be behind his back and his decision made your face pale. You watched as he started to come forward on his own while the clan waited behind him. "Ma Jake," You muttered under your breath. This was the only way, but even so, your heart twisted in fear for your mate. If he had to do it alone, he'd do it a million times over when it came to you.
You stayed silent, still attempting to sit up on your own but it was too taxing. Your mind going to a frenzy of questions. What was the plan? Why was he going alone? He was obliging to Quaritch's request in return for the kids, but you couldn't lose him like that. You wouldn't allow that demon to take him away. What kind of ultimatum was this? You knew he was surrendering to prevent further deaths, but there had to be another way.
What was unknown to absolutely everybody on the surface, was the Payakan was swimming below the SeaDragon. The Tulkun came around the ship and from below the surface, he could see you being held at gunpoint, along with some of the kids who helped get the tracker off of him. The Tulkuns' eyes narrowed at the Na'vi being in danger and began to circle below the ship for impulse. Lo'ak had told Payakan all about you, expressing how you were his mother and one of the only people in his family who understood him, and the Tulkun sympathized with the boy. Anybody who was there for Lo'ak, would be deeply appreciated by Payakan by default.
Lyle was watching Jake through the lens of his gun, just like Jake did before. "Easy shot," The man said, preparing to aim. He was soon stopped by Quaritch lowering his gun. "You hit him now, they attack. Wait until he's on board," Quaritch said, and the fact that Jake was willingly giving himself up for made him groan in frustration, especially since he knew he couldn't do anything to help right now.
To gain some strength and momentum, Payakan rubbed his head in the sand, beoke and knocked over some corals, and then finally started to make his way up to the surface with as much power as he could. Soon enough, the Tulkun leaped out of the water. Lo'ak's eyes widened at the presence of his friend, while Tuk and Tsireya smiled. "Payakan!" Tuk beamed happily and relieved. You looked up and your eyes widened as the began to fall on the deck, many soldiers tried to shoot at him, but it was pointless. The water sprayed on all of your faces, feeling salt water land directly into your eyes and wounds, making them sting.
After slamming down on its foredeck, Payakan landed and killed the Recon crew and some of the RDA soldiers. The impact of Payakan's weight on the boat made the kids stumble, but they quickly got back up and watched Payakan take care of the soldiers. "Open fire! Open fire!" A soldier yelled out, making every soldier around start to shoot but Payakan blocked the bullets with his plated skin. Noticing that a soldier was really close to him, Lo'ak called out to the Tulkun, his spirit brother.
"Brother!" He yelled, pushing the robotic legs of the soldier, making the man stumble forward. The soldier fell so far that Payakan was able to crush him with his fin. Payakan then wailed and let out a howl. It was a complete mess on the main deck. Payakan was managing to toss away Crab Suits and submarines everywhere, which knocked into soldiers and killed them after being crushed.
Jake wouldn't waste this opportunity. He let out a war cry as he moved his gun around to hold it in front of him again and commanded through the bond for his Skimwing to move forward. After riding in the water for a few seconds the Skimwing took flight and Jake got on one knee on his saddle, yelling out as he aimed his gun forward directly at the ship.
Shortly after, Ronal, Tonowari, and the other warriors took this as a sign that the battle had finally started. They raised their spears and the Skimwings took flight along the air and letting their tails graze the water. Now, war had officially begun, and there's no turning back. Jake was getting his family back, and he would do it at any cost if it came to it.
Jake, Tonowari, Ronal, and the rest of the Metkayina warriors were approaching the ship on their Skimwings, crying out war calls that showed just how determined and capable they were to take down the Sky People. Jake had his gun raised high in the air, while Tonowari and Ronal had their spears raised high. Scoresby was watching the army of Metkayina approach, so he gave out immediate orders.
"Open fire! Open fire!" Scoresby yelled, and the soldiers manning the rifles began to quickly and relentlessly shoot bullets at the incoming warriors. The machine gun sent bullets at lightning speed, but before the ammunition could reach the group, Jake, Tonowari, Ronal, and the others all had their Skimwings tuck their wings to their sides and dived into the water in a torpedo shape. Quaritch snarled at the strategic attempt of trying to avoid the barrage of gunfire shot at them.
"Sully's inbound! I want eyes on him!" Quaritch yelled out, walking past Lo'ak, Tuk, Tsireya, and you who were still cuffed to the railing. You and the kids watched Quaritch walk away, waiting for the perfect opportunity to try and set each other free, if you could.
You were slowly gaining more and more strength, but discreetly pretended to be as weak as you were when Quaritch beat you up, giving you an advantage to think of some sort of plan. Lyle turned to the other Avatar soldiers to relay orders. "Come on! Saddle up!" He yelled out as the Avatars began to all get on their own Ikrans, including Quaritch.
After the soldiers on the Ikrans took flight, a helicopter appeared from behind the ship and through the clouds, beginning to shoot from above at the warriors below the water. Fortunately, the water stopped the bullet's speed so none of them were able to do any real damage to the Metkayina below the surface.
The battle continued up on the surface, and Payakan continued to be a clear target for the rest of the remaining enemy ships, including Scoresby's boat. As one Picador ship pursued Payakan, the Tulkun was smart enough to get them off his trail. Payakan turned around and swiped the jetboat that was after him with his tail, sending it flying and tumbling into one of the SeaDragon's tilt-rotor engines with a big explosion, and damaging the larger vessel of the SeaDragon. The various men were sent off screaming, instantly dying at the height they fell from, some even dying in the explosion.
While all this chaos occurred, Spider was watching this happen from the main room of operations where he was still being held, hostage, and captive by the RDA. The explosion that Payakan created happened dangerously close to the window of the room, so Spider watched as the flames spread on the vessel. As many monitors started beeping because of the malfunctioning and failure of the destroyed engines, Spider took this as his only opportunity and chance to be helpful. If he caused enough of this commotion, he'd be able to escape this hellhole once and for all.
When everyone was distracted by the beeping of the monitors, Spider looked around and raced over to grab the fire extinguisher that was attached to the wall. He grabbed it and raced over to the pilot commanding the ship, immediately knocking him out cold with the fire extinguisher. Even with the protests of the employees, Spider pushed forward the control levers, making the turbines next to where the explosion happened to start running again.
The fire from the flames got caught up in the engine as it started to wind up again, making the fire grow bigger and larger. To prevent the helm controls from being moved again, Spider knocked the fire extinguisher over and over onto the levers, breaking them completely. There were a few men who tried to come in and stop Spider, but the boy used the extinguisher to hit their heads with it as multiple employees in the cabin tried to get him away.
Because Spider had broken the controls of the turbines, the SeaDragon was now moving forward without any control. Spider kept trying to weasel his way out of the hold that multiple soldiers had on him, all the while the ship continued to move forward and head straight towards a few segments of rocks protruding from the ocean. One hit from that, and the ship would go down. That is why many people started to head over to the broken levers and try to push them back, but it was futile.
Eventually, the SeaDragon barrelled over the sharp rocks they were heading towards and continued to scrape the bottom base of the ship. When it was in the air, gravity seemed to waft up into nothing because you, Lo'ak, Tuk, and Tsireya, levitated from the deck while still being cuffed to the railing, and then landed back down when the ship got back on the water again, but this time, with a more dire state. You all landed with yelps and screams when getting back to the ground with loud thuds.
"Mama! Are you okay?" Tuk asked worriedly, looking over Lo'ak to see how you were holding up. Your injuries didn't make it easier to withstand such a fall like you all did. You heard your daughters' voice and smiled tiredly with a small nod. Lo'ak sighed in relief at your reply.
It was tranquil for a few seconds after that, but none of the people on the ship were aware of the fact that the fundamental part of the ship was damaged and water rushing inside the vessel. The ship was sinking now. Slowly, but surely. At least not the people in the top decks. For those in the engine rooms and the very bottom deck of the ship, there were drowning and screaming employees that were being washed away by the waves there rushing inside. They had nowhere to run to, and nowhere to grab onto either. Every time any of them hung onto something, the harsh flowing currents washed them away instantly.
The main room of operations was in absolute chaos and the leak hadn't reached them yet. There was blaring of alarms everywhere with people running around frantically in the room. "Damage report?" A man yelled as he came up to the supervisor, but she looked back and shook her head with distress. "There's a flood! Rooms 2 and 3!" The woman exclaimed anxiously. Spider saw all employees get taken away by panic and start crowding the monitors, so he smirked and began to make his way to the exit. His plan worked after all.
He was just that lucky enough to create a situation in which all employees and soldiers were distracted. Once the water was out of the way, the three kids continued to pull on their cuffs as hard as they could, but it was too hard. Tsireya encouraged Tuk as best as she could, knowing that the little girl was the youngest and needed all the help she could get.
Back in the main room of operations of the SeaDragon, the alarms continued to blare because the ship was sinking more with every passing second. Everyone was running around frantically trying to fix the situation, even if it truly was beyond hope now for them. "Pumps aren't working!" The supervisor said, pushing every button available to her disposal. There was so much chaos and mayhem that they all failed to realize that Spider had gotten away, off to find his Na'vi friends and escape the ship.
As the people continued to scurry out of the ship, already feeling noticeable of its current sinking, Tsireya, Tuk, and Lo'ak were still cuffed to the ship railing. They knew that the soldiers weren't coming for them, so the kids started to take matters into their own hands.
You had gained enough strength to start kicking the railing with everything in you, and having the strength of an adult really helped the kids out in trying to remove it. Tsireya was continuing to help Tuk, even when she was stuck herself, while Lo'ak continued to kick the railing over and over until it started to look bent and they could free themselves. At that point, that was basically all they could do.
After disappearing from the battle and taking away Payakan's tracker, Neteyam had finally reappeared. He had ridden all the way back and saw his siblings cuffed to the ship, so now, he was approaching the nearest deck to them. After swimming on his ilu and getting to an opening, he maneuvered the creature so that it leaped upwards and he was able to get off and jump onto the ledge of the SeaDragon.
Tsireya, Tuk, and Lo'ak all noticed simultaneously the arrival of the oldest Sully brother. He leaped over the railing and started making his way over. "Neteyam!" Tuk beamed excitedly to her older brother, while Lo'ak and Tsireya gaped in surprise at his appearance. You smiled brightly at the sight of your oldest son, insanely happy that he was here to help.
"Hey, baby brother. Need some help?" Neteyam said with a tired smile as he pulled out his dagger and cut Tsireya free first. Neteyam quickly moved onto Tuk as the Metakyina princess rubbed her wrists with discomfort and pain, all the while she waited for Lo'ak and Tuk so they could all leave together. She didn't want to leave them here.
"Yeah, come on, get us loose," Lo'ak said as he watched his older brother cut Tuk free. Lo'ak quickly checked to see if there was anyone else coming since the deck was empty. As soon as Tuk was free, Neteyam turned to his little sister. "It's okay," He reassured Tuk, but then turned to Tsireya with a serious look.
"Get Tuk out of here," He said, and the girl nodded, taking the youngest Sully's hand and running over to the edge of the boat where they finally leaped off and started swimming away. "Bro, hurry up! Don't forget Mom," Lo'ak said urgently, nudging his head to you behind him, worried they might get caught if they take too long. Neteyam soon moved on to Lo'ak.
Before Neteyam could cut, he looked up at his brother with a cheeky expression. "Who's the mighty warrior? Come on, say it," Neteyam teased, making Lo'ak roll his eyes with a smile grazing his face. You smiled at the relationship your two sons had, it was truly endearing.
Soon enough, Lo'ak was free of the cuffs. "Bro!" The boy said with a smile to his older brother, who patted his head with affection. Neteyam moved onto you, beginning to quickly use his dagger to cut the rod between the metal cuffs. "Mom, don't worry. I'll get you out," Neteyam reassured, ignoring how much it hurt to see his mom so injured and in such a frail condition.
Your skin was stained with blood, your hair was in disarray, and even if you were slowly regaining your strength, you still looked very weak. You had bruises, scratches, and blood leaking all over you still. He could tell you were still dizzy from both the hits you took from Quaritch and the fall from the boat earlier.
When Neteyam got you free, he put your arm around his shoulder and helped you get steady until you could balance yourself on your own. After a few seconds, you silently patted your son's head as a signal that you could stand. Neteyam reluctantly let you go and even after stumbling a bit, you got your bearings and blinked a couple times to get rid of your blurry vision. You soon started to see a lot clearer, which was a relief. None of you could afford to lose any time, especially now.
Neteyam quickly gestured with his head to the edge of the boat. "Come on, let's go," The older boy said, but Lo'ak had different plans. Your eyes narrower at what your youngest did. What was he thinking? The younger brother spotted a gun from across the platform and ran over to grab it from the fallen soldier. "Lo'ak! Put that down" You whisper-shouted, not wanting to waste any more time trying to get out of there.
Lo'ak held the gun in his hands as he stood up, while Neteyam stayed crouched. "Mom, I got this, trust me," He said, but it wasn't convinving at all. "They've got Spider. We've gotta get him. Come on," Lo'ak said, while Neteyam stayed on the ground, feeling doubtful and hesitant about this. You knew Spider was important to them, but there was no way you could hide your reluctance. It was a miracle there was nobody around here, and you three should take advantage of that.
Lo'ak noticed this and continued. "Come on, bro. We can't leave him," Lo'ak reasoned. Neteyam groaned and begrudgingly stood up, following Lo'ak to the inside of the ship to Spider. "Lo'ak! Neteyam!" You called out for them, but they were already running inside. Before they could go all the way in, Spider came in from around the corner and you sighed in relief. The three boys could escape now to safety. As you watched from afar, they were all reminiscing but clearly forgetting they were on a time crunch. "Boys!" You yelled out to them, getting the attention of all three.
You gestured with your hand for them to quickly come closer, and doing as told, the three boys ran over to stand in front of you. "Listen to me very carefully. I want you three to follow after Tsireya and Tuk. Go with them, and head to safety. I'll stay here and take care of stragglers," You said, but your boys didn't want to leave you behind, not now. "Mom, no. Come with us. Dad already took care of the remaining forces, you don't have to," Lo'ak said. You sighed and your eyes softened.
There was someone you had to take care of, and you didn't want your children to be here for that. You refused to let them witness any more of this. It wasn't fair on them. "You skxawng's are not being dragged into this any more than you already have. Go. Now," You said sternly, and your boys looked at you with pained looks, not wanting to leave you here.
Without another word, the three boys started to walk backwards and half forward, taking double takes at you. They really didn't want to go. Neteyam and Lo'ak leaped into the water, leaving Spider to stand on the edge of the deck, looking back at you. "Be careful, Mrs. Y/n" Spider said before jumping into the water and following after Neteyam and Lo'ak.
When they were out of sight, you sighed and closed your eyes. You knew that who you were waiting for would appear at any moment, and all you had to do was wait. You wouldn't allow Jake to carry on this burden any more. As his wife, it was your job to take care of him and to relieve him of the pressure he was feeling to shoulder the mistakes of the past. If Jake hadn't defied the RDA, he wouldn't be in your life right now as he is. You'd be eternally grateful for choosing the path he did. He was your blessing as well as you were his.
You looked out into the ocean and saw that it was completely deserted. Jake and the Metkayina really did take out everyone else. Your children were safe, they left the boat, Quaritch and his group were nowhere to be seen. Even it seemed peaceful, there was one more thing left to do. Right on cue, the flapping and screech of an Ikran sounded behind you, so you turned around and faced the man you'd be waiting for. Quaritch looked at you with a smug grin as he began to dismount his ikran.
"So, Mrs. Sully...how about we settle this? Right here and now. Tired already?" Quaritch taunted as he stepped closer to you while you pulled out your dagger. He hadn't expressed it as much, but the Colonel had a vendetta against you too. "You wish, jackass" You spat.
Not as big as Jake, but he also wanted to take you down for a couple of reasons. One, while battling Jake earlier, he had lost sight of him so killing you would bring him from out of the shadows, full of vulnerability to kill him too. Second of all, he just wanted to return to you what you did to his human form 15 years before. Taking you out would give Quaritch an advantage, or at least that's what he thought.
