Ben is very hardheaded. Good lord, it takes a miracle to change his mind at times and he always seems to believe that he is right when he is wrong. It is hard for him to accept defeat in any shape or form. He is just a sore loser, alright? No one like to lose like that. He wouldn't say that he is hot-headed, there are times when he can very angry and storm off, but there are other times when he can keep it together and behave for once. He can give people a hard time mainly because he finds it amusing to see how others react to his behavior. Overall, deep down on the inside, he is a hopeless romantic...but he won't admit that out loud. He doesn't like others to think that he is some weak shadowhunter.

Ben has been raised in an enormous family, he can't tell how much of a pain they truly are. he was used to having a chaotic family at all times. His parents could only pay attention to so many people. He learned plenty from his older siblings and often was taking care of his other siblings. He appreciates his family even if at times he does not get along with his parents. He has learned to just be grateful for what family he has, seeing that in life they do live, not many still have family alive the way that they do. There was a near-death experience with one of his younger brothers, and because of that, he had grown very close to little Wallace.
