Third Person's POV

After Derek gets his daughter's body out of the sack, it explodes, and he gets thrown back harshly which makes him crash through the glass doors, and just narrowly miss James, before Rossi shoots him dead in his tracks. His now limp body falls. Derek feels him slowly falling before he can get within distance of Spencer, JJ, and now Rossi. Just before the others got to him, he fell, as he was breathing in the smoke, and fell unconscious.

Spencer immediately called the ambulance, and the father and daughter were brought to the nearest hospital so that when they felt all better, they could go back to Virginia.

When Savannah found out what happened to her husband and his daughter, she got on the nearest flight to Chicago was there in six hours, then she got lost trying to find the hospital but found her way. She rushed into the hospital where Spencer and JJ had waited for her once she told them that she landed and was on her way to the hospital.

"How are they? Where are they? Are they okay? Are they hurt?" Savannah says frantically as JJ sighs knowing how much Derek means to her.

"Well Derek is awake, but..." JJ says to Savannah which doesn't help her nerves as she gives JJ a look.

"... but?" Savannah says motioning towards the elevator towards the rooms.

"Hailey still hadn't woken up. She lost a lot of blood. Along with scars on her body from what we're guessing is a knife on her throat and little torture methods on her wrists." Spencer says reading off what the nurse said as she examined Hailey's wounds.

"Oh, my god." Savannah says as the elevator gets to the floor that they need to be on as she hurriedly towards Derek's room as Hailey is in surgery.

When she got to his room she engulfed him in a huge hug. "Hey, baby girl." He says to her as she looks around for Hailey but sees no sign of her. "Hails in surgery." He says already knew what she was going to ask. It was also clear of how she was looking around which gave it away.

"When did she go?" She asked him.

"Two hours before you came." He says as he brings her in for another hug. As she didn't hesitate to hug him back. At this point she needed him and Hailey back, but they would have to wait a little bit for Hailey, because she is still in surgery.

"How bad was she? Well, is she?" She says before correcting herself.

"She'll be okay. She'll make it through." Derek says as Savannah looks at him with a sad look. "She's my daughter, course she will make it through."

"How do you know that? How do you think that she'll make it through?" She asked him as she didn't intend for her voice to get raised. She's feeling a lot of emotions right now as she's trying to control them, but it's difficult trying to concentrate and focus on getting information about Unsubs when two people that she cares about are in the hospital. Let alone one of them isn't back yet from surgery.

He grabbed her hands giving them a soft squeeze like he does to Hailey. He looks her dead in the eye as she adverts her eyes towards him. When she looked him in the eyes. "Because I know Hailey. She'll get through anything." He says trying to reassure Savannah as he could tell that she was nervous of her.

"How do you know that?" Savannah says as Hailey is in crutches standing by the door.

"He does." Was the voice of Hailey as Savannah turned around as she was in shock.

"How? Why?" Savannah says going off again which makes Hailey chuckle at her.

"I woke up during surgery. I got blinded by the lights." Hailey says with a soft smile on her face, which Savannah returns.

"I'm just glad you are okay," Savannah says as she brings Hailey into a hug. Hailey hugged her back a little tighter than she usually hugs people unless they're her dad. But that's obvious. Derek smiles at seeing the two embracing each other. His two favorite baby girls are back. When Savannah went to walk with Spencer and JJ, Hailey stuck her tongue at Savannah before turning back to her dad. It's been almost three days since she went missing.

They didn't know what to say, as this was the longest time that they'd gone without talking to each other. "Hey, baby girl," Derek says being the brave one to speak, as Hailey smiles at him. "Come 'ere." He says as she slowly walks towards him like she's in trouble. Which broke his heart a little at seeing, but then again, he can't blame her. She sat beside him, as he was fine except for some bruising and cuts, but Hailey got the most out of it as she was set on fire. She leans her head onto his shoulder as he brings her into his arms. "It's okay, babygirl." He says as he kisses her head, and she looks down at her casted foot. "You, okay?" He asked her as he grabbed her hand. "Hailey?"

"As I was looking I um, saw something of Mom," Hailey says as Derek processes what she said then he looks at her.

"What do you mean? She's dead." He said to her as she grabbed her phone and dialed Penelope's number which she answered.

"Hey, get my bag--" Hailey said before Penelope interrupted her.

"Sorry, sweetness, but I'm already ahead of you, everything is sent to your phone," Penelope says as Hailey smiles.

"Thanks," Hailey says before hanging up with Penelope and she clicks on what Penelope sent her, she shows her dad her phone as he reads what is on the screen.

"Not when she knew him," Hailey says as it makes sense. "He killed her so that no one would realize anything," Hailey says as she remembers what she saw, as Derek handed her phone back. "See what I mean? It doesn't make sense."

"I'll look into it." He says to her as he knows that this is bothering her, as she had spent twelve years thinking that her mother was dead but not realizing that she's been alive for twelve years. "It said that she's at a psych ward." He adds as she nods her head.

"Great the home of crazy people." She says as he couldn't help but laugh at what she said. She's not half wrong.

"Just go see her once. I'll be happy." Derek says as she looks at him like he is crazy before she shakes her head, he nods his head, and she makes a face.

"You no fun. Don't forget that." Hailey says to him as he smiles.

"Please, baby girl." He says to her using the puppy eyes that she always uses on him. She avoided looking at him so that she wouldn't fall into his trap. "Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please."

Hailey covered her ears to ignore him, but she could still hear him saying 'please' repeatedly. She knew that she couldn't get out of this. "Fine! Stop talking, you're giving me a headache."

Morgan couldn't help but laugh when she said that. He brought her into his chest as he kissed her head. "Thank you, madam."

Hailey had one more chance to get out of this, so she took it. Which caused him to look at her with an eyebrow raised. "You're not getting out of it, missy."

"Dang it," Hailey says to her father as he smirks at her. "You're good."

"I have you, so of course I have to be," Derek says as she rolls his eyes at her which makes him smile even more.

After a minute of her not saying anything. Which felt good because Hailey was always talking as she always had something to say about everything. Sometimes he won't stop her talking if she's ranting and or trying to make Spencer stop saying smart-ass words that she can't even understand. "What am I going to say? I haven't seen the woman in twelve years. What am I gonna do? What am--" She was ranting until Derek put his hand on her mouth, she looked at him with a side-eye.

"You talk about me. Anyway, I can go with you--" He says before she interrupts him as he had just interrupted her, as she startled him with a hug.

"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." She says kissing his face all over which makes him chuckle.

"Okay. Okay. Okay, I get it." He says as she pulls away with a mischievous grin on her face.

"I missed a spot." She says before kissing all over his face.

"Hail, get off of him. It's my turn." Savannah says which makes Hailey groan, but she gets off, letting Savannah have her fun.

"Let's get this over with," Derek says as Savannah kisses his face just like Hailey did.

"I'm getting grub." She says taking her father's wallet with her.
