014- Space song

Song: Powerful - Ellie Goulding and Major Lazer.

Blood boiling, hands trembling, her head full of these noisy thoughts. Her heart beating as though it was going to burst from out of her chest. "Get away from me!" Anastasia cried out as she pushed him away, full of pain, tormented from the past that haunted her.

Her head snapped up, it looked unnatural. As Tony tried getting to the girl who was burdened by her mind. Eyes inked with a fiery red demonized almost. It has to be her power, Pepper held her hand to her mouth it still was a shock to see even though she already saw it once before. Tony tried reaching out, she just backed away further. He used his words instead afraid that she might do more damage.

Remembering what Thor had said,

"She's immensely powerful, and she doesn't know it...keep her calm."

"Ana, you need to calm down. No one is going to hurt you-" Tony spoke slowly as though he was trying to speak to a four-year-old.

"You don't get it, none of you will, I can't-" Anastasia cut herself off with sobs and cries lingering painful tears streaming down her flushed face.

"-I can't be helped. Just like he always told me." Anastasia mumbled she was now back against the wall, her back arched into her knees as she silently sobbed.

"Who said that?" Pepper slid now to the floor only inches away from Anastasia.

"He told me it was always my fault. I tried so hard, but teachers would always put me in-" It was hard to make out words between sobs, "-It wasn't always my fault, but no one ever believed me. They thought I was just a kid making up stories, because I was bored or that she died and I was an attention seeker."

Tony hummed somewhat in thought, "This wasn't your fault. None of it is, you didn't ask for this." Tony's voice was cooling and comforting, and it got Anastasia to stop sobbing uncontrollably.

But she still hadn't held her face up to see them. Silence filled the air, concerning Pepper. "You're not an attention seeker, far from it-" Tony knelt in front of Ana, as he spoke casually. "Kid, as much as you sass me out. You could never be that, I actually like having you around. Talking my ear off."

"It's okay, when I was your age I got into trouble more than I'd like to admit. Just don't make a habit of this, okay?" Pepper rubbed her hand in circular motions, comforting Anastasia as she saw fit.

Finally, Anastasia's face rose, and her eyes were red but not red as in her power was overtaking her. Red as in bloodshot from too much crying, "I am sorry, Tony and you to Pepper." Her words came out small and almost inaudible.

"Hey, Kid. No worries, and if any teachers decide to give you too much grief just tell me, and I'll send Happy the authority to kick them." Tony assured with a smile.

Anastasia giggled now feeling slightly less tense and glad. "I don't think that's allowed." But Tony held a hand up,

"It is if I say it is." Pepper shook her head, but now Anastasia had calmed down she had nothing to worry about.

Anastasia was sent to bed by firm orders of Tony Stark, Pepper however felt terrible for reacting so badly. " Don't beat yourself up, she'll be fine." Tony assured rubbing circles of comfort around his lover's back.

Ana just snuck a snug blanket and made her way to the rooftop, she'd hope to see her crime-fighting boy. But she unfortunately wasn't expecting much, so to occupy herself so took her headphones to listen to music.

"Our minds are troubled by the emptiness-"

Her voice was like angels hidden by the deeper demons. But when she was in the moment and she let herself go, it flourished. Ana felt the wind push through her, the wind between the strands of her brunette hair. Eyes closed, silent breathing.

Behind her, Peter Parker, the masked male behind his insecurities. Scared to face her, but why? She didn't know him. From what she knew Peter Parker and his mask creator was no way related.

He sat next to her, admiring her and the way she presented herself. It was if she had no care, fearless. Peter wished he could be free like Ana was.

Ana opened her eyes staring at the wide-lighted horizon of city lights. But the corner she flinched at the sight of the boy. "Jesus-" Ana pulled out her earplugs,

"No, just me." Peter replied with a smirk.

"-you can't. Anyway, I don't know if I wanna ask where you've been." Anastasia snickered she was disappointed but she didn't let him know that.

"What were you listening too?" Peter inquired starting out,

"A band." Anastasia quickly responded by tugging at her blanket.

"Oh yeah, what song?" His sudden interest made her slouch, relaxed almost.

"Breezeblocks by Alt-J." Another quick answer, knowing she was not in the mood for a conversation with the superhero.

"Sorry, I've been away-" Peter quipped biting the bottom of his lip.

"I didn't ask." Anastasia bit back with a small sad smile.

"- I know you didn't, but I was temporarily detained." Peter looked at her, waiting for a response. He was nervous, she was considered his friend. A very close one.

"Look, I don't need to know. It isn't my business, but when you did leave suddenly I thought it was because I said something wrong." Anastasia retorted, dropping her smile replacing it with a blank stare into the vastness.

Peter felt bad. Guilty.

"No, it wasn't your fault." It was all he could say to justify it. He couldn't expose himself, no matter what happened. Anastasia didn't reply but occupied his gaze elsewhere but his.

"How have you been, while I've been away?" Peter inquired, folding his arms.

"I started school, meet you, friends. They're cool, Peter seems strange like he can't stand around me or something. Ned says it's just him, but that can't be right-"

Peter looked at Ana, his eyebrows furrowed and nose scrunched up.

"I'm sure he's just nervous."

"Maybe, anyway me and Parker got into Detention. Pepper didn't take it well." Ana stared at her feet reminding herself of the terrifying emotion that overcame her.

"I'm sorry." Peter apologized sadly, watching Anastasia be uncomfortable with herself made him feel sad.

"You don't have to apologize, you didn't do anything wrong." But Peter thought it was his fault she had gotten Detention at school if it wasn't his mouth. His blabbering, she wouldn't have got into trouble.

"Still, what about Tony?"

"He's a literal child, sometimes-" Anastasia exhaled deeply, smiling at Peter. "-But he is kind and caring, something I don't often get. It's nice having someone around that's like that-" Ana scrunched up her nose, "-sorry, I'm being a sap." But Peter didn't mind her talking.

"No, you're okay. It's nice hearing someone else." Peter smiled; it was a smile that held admiration and sincerity.

Peter found fondness in his friend knowing her presence, meant a lot to him.

"How've you been?" Ana asked her side-eye view of him in his ridiculous suit.

"Good, you know how it is. Robbers to catch, purse-snatchers. All in a day's work." Peter chuckled,

"You don't do school?" Ana asked now facing him cross-legged and armed her blanket still draped around her.

"No, I do-" Peter sucked in a breath, exhaling, Ana just nodded she figured he won't say where.

"But you won't tell me."

"Sorry." Peter mumbled their shoulders touching her, radiating a warmth that even he could feel underneath his unfashionable fabric.

"You don't have to be, we all must maintain our secrets." She whispered looking at her feet, which dangled off the ledge of the tower. Anastasia wasn't afraid of heights, no, never. Anastasia wasn't really in fear of anything or anything she'd care to publicly admit.

"And do you?" Peter wondered his gaze resting on Ana who cocked her head in mere confusion,

"Secrets?"

Anastasia opened her mouth and let an all-knowing smile upon her lips. "Then again it wouldn't be a secret." Peter just sighed in understanding.

Anastasia thought about her powers and how easily she could let it consume, it was terrifying and yet so fascinating. More scary though than the excitement that coursed through her.

"Well, I better be off, and so should you. Even a man like yourself needs rest." Anastasia nodded pushing herself back and up, dusting herself off.

Peter picked up and handed her blanket,

He smiled under his mask, she called him a man. Even after her debate about his supposed name,

"Goodnight, Spiderman." She waved him off, gratefully taking the blanket from him. A gentle and friendly smile still appeared as she walked back down to her room.

She tossed and turned, succumbed to the darkness enveloped in the warmth her bed brought, with this gift of hers she wondered more of what it brought. What was Anastasia capable of? So for it seemed basic, super hearing and power absorption.

"You've got this...... She's just adjusting" It was Tony he was speaking with someone on a phone, she felt like she infiltrated something personal. Ana felt like this was abusing the power she was given.

"She just started school-" Ana figured that Tony was talking about her and although this seemed bad, eavesdropping like this her name being sprung up in conversation made her ears perk up. Curiosity, "I'm not entirely sure how she'll react to meeting new people...I swear once you meet her, it'll be fine." Suddenly in tune with the sound waves of what was going on another voice chimed in and she didn't know how it belonged to.

It wasn't Thor, that's for sure.

"Well, what was she like meeting you?" it was male.

"Well-" Ana heard Tony sigh heavy taking a moment to carefully think of his response,

"It couldn't have been that bad."

"At first I was a bit surprised, I didn't like the idea of a kid living here at first-"

"And now you do?"

It's not like I don't like having her here, I'll tell you one thing though it isn't quiet." Tony chuckled and so did Ana

"What does Pepper think?"

"Pepper loves her, but you know Pepper she always wanted a kid but she can't have that."

This now was becoming intrusive and Ana decided to tune it out. She grabbed her white wired headphones and scrolled through her Spotify playlist. It was lovely to know Tony didn't hate having Ana around, in fact, her presence didn't cause him to be somewhat uncomfortable. After all, it was his home, and if he asked her to leave, she would. But then again why would Tony Stark ask a fourteen-year-old girl to leave?

Anastasia closed her eyes, after finally searching her number one most listened playlist she found the right song. Flipping on her back she felt in the moment, it was fortunate that Happy had stuck up glow in the dark stars and her room was edged with LED lights.

Ana felt like she was in her own music video, the song that played was Space Song by Beach House.

'It was late at night, you held on tight... from an empty seat, a flash of mine...it would take a while to make you smile, somewhere in these eyes I'm on your side. '

The instrumental was like floating in space, the stars surrounding you and you feel at peace. No worries or stress, just simply contentment thrived in your being.

'Fall back into place..'

'Tender is the night, for a broken heart, who will dry your eyes when it falls apart?... "

Ana closed her eyes, the glow-in-the-dark stars still illuminating and in her creative mind, she thought how it would like. Picturing herself floating, arms out and legs spaced out in a baby pastel blue astronaut suit. A NASA logo, symbol patched on her back alongside the words, ALIVE. But also her last name and first name initial imprinted on the front, Montgomery. S. A

Sometimes, when moments like these occurred randomly and bizarre in her brain Ana would also think of becoming a director or writer of sorts so she could share these crazy ideas. But then self-doubt would seep in a dash of realism, it kind of bummed her out.

The next morning, Anastasia woke a headache pulsating through her. She groaned, groggily wiping the sleep from her eyes.

But she still maintained and got up. Getting dressed slowly but surely for school, walking into the kitchen.

"Morning-" Tony greeted, "-oh, kid. You don't look too good." A hot mug of coffee cupped in his hands,

"Thanks, Tony you don't look bad yourself." A throb then hit her, like a pound of bricks fell on top. Tony looked well-rested, still, he had prominent bags under his eyes.

Anastasia held her fingers to her throbbing temples, leaning into the counter for upright support. "I don't think you should be going to school if you're sick," Tony recommended.

"That's alright, I'll be fine." She looked at him and even though she probably looked ghastly the appearance she should make at school was much needed, she couldn't let her attendance fail her.

"No, you're not. You look like a ghost, now off to bed with you." Pepper walked into the kitchen wearing his real pencil skirt and white floral blouse.

"But-" Anastasia protested but already Pepper was ushering her down to her bedroom.

"It surprises me how you are arguing this, but the school will be there tomorrow. If you feel better, but for now you will rest. Happy will bring food and medication. Now listen." Pepper kindly ordered tucking Anastasia in her bed.

Tony was watching leaning against the door frame. This whole guardianship they took on looked good on Pepper, but he knew he couldn't give her what she wanted. And that pained him, beyond comprehension. Even if she said otherwise.

Pepper had walked out followed by Tony,

She pulled out her phone sending a text to Happy telling him that Ana wouldn't attend school.

Morning, Ana won't be at school today, she's apparently quite sick.

Hopefully, nothing too bad, I hope.

No, but if it does get worse, we can figure something out. Anyway, I'll need you to run and get some food for the house. I hope you don't mind, I would get Tony but you know how it is.

Sure, just send a list.

Thanks, Hap x

Spending too much time with that, Kid I see.

What can I say, she brings out something in me

Sure, anyway send the list and I'll be over at lunch.

Seen 7:35 am

But Anastasia's absence at first-period class, Physics left Peter wondering where she might've been. The school of course was notified from Happy about Anastasia's absence.

She didn't miss much actually, just a simple theoretical discussion about, god knows what.

"Hey, Ned." Peter greeted his best friend who only smiled and waved.

"Have you seen, Ana today? She wasn't in Physics this morning?"

"No, but don't worry she's probably sick or something." Peter only nodded, of course planned to see her tonight. Maybe give her some of his Aunt's soup. Or something.

Back at the tower, Anastasia slept well and Tony kept a close eye receiving word from Thor that some guests may be arriving but the sudden illness that Anastasia had brought upon the delay.

"Is Miss. Ana not well?" Thor questioned through the other side of the phone.

Tony just sighed, "No-" he walked to Ana's bedroom where she's been sleeping for the past two hours feeling her forehead she had been burning a fever.

"-It seems to be a cold." Thor just hummed,

"That's not good, some of the team were very excited to meet such an interesting character. However, it is understandable. Let me know how she goes, we don't know how this will affect her gifts." Tony hadn't thought really of it and just said "sure thing." And hung up.

Happy brought over cold medication, water and ice popsicles to cool down the fever.

Hours had passed, and there was not much to report regarding the status of the meeting. But Anastasia's fever had died down but not completely, she couldn't digest foods which seemed to worry Tony greatly as he watched Ana twist and turn uncomfortably.

The few members of the Avengers seemed to understand, even people like them got sick. Peter and Ned thought to take notes for classes Ana had missed, ceased wondering where the girl might've been.

Liz had questioned the whereabouts of the young female but of course, received nothing, it wasn't her business. So they continued their day as usual.

Ned had still yet acquired the phone number of his new friend as Peter thought so. However, as the day progressed and the day reached late afternoon Anastasia made a somewhat recovery from taking medication and fluids.

Still not eaten though. Anastasia grew tired of being in bed so she tiptoed to the kitchen where it was quiet, she found her phone laying on a wireless charging dock. Tony was in his lab evident from the music blasting from Jarvis.

Scrolling through her phone she noticed she had no one's numbers, with a deep sigh she slid her cell back onto the counter and sat on the comfortable fabric couch.

Fortunately, it overlooked the city, the tv tucked away inside the wall. She sat cozying up into the cushions.

She didn't hear the music stop, nor the calling of her name. Or footsteps treading the hall. "There you are." It was Tony, he sighed and walked towards the silent girl.

"It got boring being in there." Anastasia replied softly,

"How are you feeling?" Tony of course, held the back of his hand to the girl's forehead. Fortunately, the fever had diminished.

"I'm okay, I still have a sore throat from coughing." Tony stood up walking into the kitchen. He grabbed out the lemon juicer and started juicing lemons, adding honey to sweeten it up. With a little hot water, "Here." He pushed the tall glass to the girl she smiled and gratefully took it. Seeing Tony became somewhat concerned for whatever it may be, was endearing.

"Thanks." The young girl thanked, sipping the warm lemon water.

"So, I wonder what caused you to become sick." He raised a questioning brow but Ana figured it was from staying out on the rooftop to visit the newly named Spiderman.

"I wonder." That is all Anastasia before nuzzling further into the cushioned couch. Tony just tucked her in a thin quilt draped over the side armchair.

"You always seem to love sitting and just watching the city." Tony had observed Ana a lot since moving in and it was true.

"Especially at night, I guess. I never saw the city before coming here, I remember once before but I was very young. I was with my mother and she brought me to New York." Tony sat and listened, wanting to question where her mother was but decided it for another time.

"She took me to this concert on one of the aves in Queens. It was a garage band, I guess my love for music came from there. Anyway, my father at the time was not there, I don't know why. But she was always lively, and amazing." Anastasia continued with a smile of admiration and nostalgia.

"What did she look like?" Tony questioned gently, it was the first time Ana had expressed anything from her past. And it meant they were making progress on their trust in one another.

"She had long brunette hair, honey pooled eyes, and the rosiest cheeks. Her voice was like- it was like a magical harp." Tony watched Ana, it was an amazing sight. The way she talked of someone like that, expressing such.

"I miss her, everyday." Anastasia finished sighing. But she was grateful as the detailed memory of her still remained thriving in her mind.

"Yeah." Tony hummed, slightly invested after hearing Ana talk, "What was she into?"

"I think you two would get along, you two have the same tastes. She was a punk rocker back in the day, but she also didn't have a distaste for indie either." Ana replied, giving a genuine to Tony as he watched the sunset.

He two was somewhat of a punk rocker as well back in the day. Remembering how he would rebel against his parents to attend concerts and sneak out to be with girls. Tony missed those days, but he also wasn't like he was not fond of the current days.

With all the hookups and one-nighters, he was so much of a playboy that much wasn't a secret. Even before Pepper he still played into those sexual pleasures. But now Tony was committed to Pepper even without marital papers, those couldn't define his unconditional love towards the hardworking, loving women he knew and cared for.

Soon Ana found herself snuggling into the side of the billionaire, he froze unsure of the sudden affection but he didn't pull away. He embraced the scent which lingered from her vanilla and pine, and although she wasn't his by blood Tony surely could almost call this girl his closest friend.

Tony hadn't thought of her as something supernatural, an unnatural creation made from something completely unknown. Tony thought of Anastasia Montgomery as a fourteen-year-old girl who has issues, she wasn't useless or helpless. No damsel in distress, she was strong-willed.

He didn't know much of the problematic past he somewhat knew of, as a curious inventor Tony ought to have asked but he knew not to ruin the moment. Tony knew that it wasn't Anastasia's fault, he believed wholeheartedly that this child was not at fault for the implications of a mad man's actions in the past.

But Ana wasn't finished with her talk, and as Tony listened to the girl he held her close. Scared she'd distance herself, frightened of something unexplainable.

"She never gets mentioned- my mother, but I remember her. The way she talked and sang me to sleep when I was a toddler. I know it's scientifically impossible to remember something so young, but I swear- you must've known how she died." Anastasia sat up, Tony frowned as she referred to the first time she came to their home, the background check.

"There wasn't much of anything. Just names really and an article-" Tony replied, though he thought of the little information strangely he sat that feeling aside.

"Car accident, it was like after she left, it was made as if she never existed. Abraham as you know, my father, toxicity ran through him. Unfortunately, it's all I ever knew him to be." It clicked like a light switch went off in Tony's head. Anastasia referred to him in her mental breakdown the other night. And her mother as she died, a traumatic past resurfaced through the implications of talking in class and a bad reaction Pepper had.

It made sense. But Tony knew that there had to be a deeper effect than that, evident by numerous negative reactions and emotions.

But Tony didn't feel the need for a further explanation, instead he simply complied with what he was blessed with knowing,

"It's okay, kid." And it was sort of a small and simple sentence of endearment.

Anastasia knew it was his way of saying,

'I don't really know what happened, but know it wasn't your fault. And that everything is going to be okay. Because we can get through this.'

So the simplicity of it brought upon a small but loud appreciative smile, Anastasia was forever grateful for his and Peppers's hospitality, their support, and tolerance to putting up with the fourteen-year-old antics from sassing Tony to chaotic power surged tantrums.

The night came as did Pepper. Anas scratchy throat never left, but she had widened up and layered on clothing as she seemed her crime boy.

"Hi." He greeted Spiderman he was now known by.

"Hello." Anastasia replied smiling as usual.

"You seem sick, your voice all-" Peter handed a steel thermal. Which Ana took, she poured what seemed to be hot chocolate, some for her she'd share with him.

But Ana chuckled, coughing.

"Thanks."

Peter shook his head, "No, just-"

"Hey, just pulling your leg. Just a run of your mill cold. Don't worry it's dying out, hence the extra few clothes. I think it's the continuous nights on the roof."

Now Peter felt bad, he felt it was his fault somewhat that she'd been coming up to see him. It sort of became an expectation. And never of them had too, Peter had apologized.

"It's not your fault. I said before, I enjoyed these times together." Anastasia's nose was flushed a pink, the cold breeze hitting her nose.

"I think we should limit our time together. I don't want you to keep getting sick." Peter informed it saddened him a bit. But he also knew he'd see her at school, even more so if she wasn't always getting sick from seeing Spiderman.

"But-" Anastasia wanted to complain but she knew he was right, if she kept getting sick how could she explain her secret meet-ups with a male she barely knew, Ana would sound completely insane.

"-Fine." She sighed in defeat.

So they both continued to listen to each other and talk at their own pace. Comforted with each other company, it was never awkward. But when silence dawned their time, it wasn't weird or strange like something you would want to avoid. No, it was comfortable and peaceful.

So when the time came for departure Spiderman saluted as did Anastasia. Agreeing they'd meet twice a week Tuesday and Thursday. Seeing it was Wednesday the new routine would push play next week he would see her Friday before the next time Tuesday.

But it didn't phase him much, he'd see her every day at school as his true self. As Peter Benjamin Parker, not as what she knew as Spiderman. His secret. And maybe that was for the absolute best. He couldn't drag her down with him when it came to danger.

Peter knew she held a role, a place which only Ned really stood in. A place where only best friends were to be protected at all costs. A place where if you hurt Ana or Ned you hurt Peter thus bringing Spiderman's worst side. Aside you'd never want to associate with, fortunately, a side never seen but thought existed through speech.

Ana slept that night content with her place in Tony's and Peppers world and in Spiderman's. Though she knew it would be a journey with her new friends, Peter of course being one of them.

The morning brought positivity and wellness, something Anastasia hardly experienced before. It was certainly strange, but nevertheless, she showered, got dressed, and ate breakfast. A big breakfast Tony had made was like Anastasia never had seen food before, she looked at the plate. He mouth-watering,

Baked beans, scrambled eggs, cut-up tomatoes, and two small sausages sided with hot chocolate and buttered toast.

She had attempted to shove a mouthful of baked beans into her mouth, but she took off to the bathroom from the pure scent and taste. Frustrated with herself. She had brushed her teeth. "Shit." Ana cussed at herself.

"Don't forget, Lunch money-" Pepper pointed out to Ana who rushed to her backpack.

"And gloves.* Tony held them out in his hands and Anastasia slipped them on hurriedly.

"Right' o, see you after school?" Ana pounced on her feet, feeling energized now.

"You after school, kid." Tony winked farewelling the girl. As she raced down to meet Happy who greeted her warmly.

"How are you feeling?" Happy asked, looking at her giddiness through the rearview mirror.

"Alive." Was all Anastasia could conjure up, getting out of the still-moving car.

"Be careful!" Happy hissed shaking his head,

"Sorry Hap, see you after school!" Anastasia waved farewelling her pretend Uncle. Happy drove away chuckling to himself.

First class was Art, a discussion on some art of Picasso, and media's Ana found to be her favorite. Next was Chemistry, a subject she suddenly also excelled in who knew mixing liquids would be so fun.

After Chemistry it was most Fortunate that she found herself reading in the library, as she had a free hour on hand...

"I see you've returned to school." Ned smiled walking towards the huddled girl with her books on The Art of War.

"I was only gone one day, Ned." Anastasia didn't look up to greet her friend,

"How did you know it was me?" Ned wondered, raising a brow.

"You've got distinctive footsteps and I could sense you." It seemed strange that one could see such a thing. For Ned it was but for Ana it was now a part of her, Anastasia's unrequited gift or a curse.

"Really-" Ned huffed sitting down next to her. "-Peter was asking for you. I remembered I couldn't even get a hold of you. I don't have your number."

Anastasia looked at Ned with a questioning brow and a cheeky grin on her face. "Smooth, I'll give you that."

It seemed Anastasia had thought Ned was using Peter as an excuse to get her number. Not declining either way, but it seemed Ned wasn't thinking of it and wide yes in response.

"No, I don't-"

" No worries, here." Anastasia wrote on a scrap piece of paper her phone number and slid the piece of parchment to Ned who shoved it into his pocket.

"You mind if I give it to Peter?" Ned inquired,

"No, I don't." Anastasia smirked, putting her head back into her books.

Ned grew tired, relentless farewelling Ana he'd see her in PE and Physics later anyway. "See you later."

Anastasia waved farewell, continuing her personal interest in Sun Tzu. Thirty minutes had passed and it soon became recess, Anastasia hobbled to the cafeteria where Ned and Peter were sitting in their usual spots eating their food out of brown paper bags.

"Hello, boys." She greeted with a wide smile, Peter flinched as Ned just smiled.

"Baloney today, Peter?"

"Yeah, my Aunt made Baloney last night and made sandwiches with the leftovers. Want some?" Peter handed out a sandwich and she took it, although she didn't need it she had cash.

"If I take it what do you want for it?" Peter raised a questioning brow and asked, "if you insist, what do you have?"

Anastasia giggled, "cash." Peter mentally laughed, Stark and Potts were of course too busy to make lunches and were wealthy enough.

"Don't worry about it." Peter replied by snacking on his sandwich, but Ana looked at Ned for an answer.

"Two brownies and a juice." Anastasia complied with these wishes, to which Ned received an annoyed look from Peter.

"Lighten up, Parker. I don't mind, it's not like I am going to spend it all." She flexed her eighty-dollar bill which received an eye roll from him. Alas, Ana scurried to the Cafeteria bench to place an order.

"Two choc brownies and one apple juice, one egg sandwich, and chocolate milk." She eyed up as the female cashier docked in her order and punched numbers,

"That'll be $18.45 cents." The female cashier replied bitterly. Anastasia handed her a twenty-dollar bill smiling. "Keep the change." The female cashier nodded and Anastasia walked back to the boys with food in hand.

She passed them out, and Ned handed Peter a brownie which he sighed. "Thanks, Ana." Peter for the first time she heard him call her by her nickname.

"No problem, Pete." Anastasia replied, peeling the plastic-wrapped sandwich open.

Ned nodded thanking her also, she didn't mind buying for the two. Anastasia knew they had not malice intentions towards her,

"Is that all your eating?" Ned inquired nodding towards her sandwich,

"I haven't really had an appetite since yesterday." She took a small bit, hoping not to regurgitate it up.

Ana took a bite if it wasn't for the disgusting factor it had or that she couldn't hold it down she scrunched her nose and wrapped it back up. "I'm guessing you can't eat." Peter stated, Ana only nodded frowning.

But she could withhold fluids, luckily. Anastasia chugged her chocolate milk, "You need to eat." Peter sighed he noticed how chiseled she had become, her collar bone prominent.

"Every time I pass even a single crumb through my lips I chuck it back up." Anastasia sighed, thumbing with the milk carton.

The bell then sounded, notifying everyone that it was time for class. " We have PE." Peter would dread the sheer thought of physical education, its coach, and peers. But now his secret had allowed this class to have become somewhat tolerable.

As the three-headed to their class, changing quickly into their pe uniform.

But back at the Stark Tower, there were occupants harboring in the living room. God of Thunder, Captain America, Clint Barton, Bruce Banner and Natasha Romanoff.

"Where is this gifted girl you speak of Stark?" Steve Rogers also known as Captain America asked.

"Where every fourteen-year-old is, school." Replied Tony,

"Why is she there? She's gifted or cursed. As you said, she could be a danger to others." Clint argued, but Tony glared eyes at him. He felt offended,

"Don't you dare- I gave her- you'll see." Tony advised, pushing Clint back he fell down on the couch.

"It's best not to anger him. He's shown quite a fondness for the young lady." Thor told Clint,

"You've seen her?" Natasha questioned,

"I have, and her gifts. Anastasia is not a bad person, she struggles to harness her power. She is immensely powerful-" Thor spoke his hammer between his legs as he sat eating a bacon sandwich.

"If she is as you say, then see what she can do to train her. Make her like us, Avenger." Steve hastily spoke.

"No, She's just a kid, Cap." Tony argued, pointing his glass in Captain's general direction.

"No, it's her choice. Her decision, if Anastasia means to be one of us. Let her choose her path." Natasha advised,

"She's been through too much, I can't let this life be for her."

However as Bruce Banner sat, comfortable on his seat listening to the mumbling and banter of his fellow friends. He too was deciding his own mind on what he thought.

Meanwhile, Physics had ended at Midtown High alongside the remainder of the school day. Anastasia was on her way home, she looked wretched and this caused a stir in Happy Hogan something that sort of terrified him.

It was 3:00 pm and Anastasia stood in the elevator, next to her Happy. "Hey, you sure you're okay?" His voice was warm,

Ana closed her eyes, taking deep breaths it would've been a lie if she said she hadn't felt an abnormal change. She felt drained, "I'm okay." She whispered falling into the side rail, Happy had caught her.

"Tony!" Happy called, as the elevator doors had opened. The billionaire ran towards the call of his name.

The sight was heart-wrenching as he saw Ana reach out for him. She fell into Tony's arm, she felt like a bag of bones against his skin. "What happened?" Ana heard Tony hastily questioned.

"I picked her up like usual. She was fine in the car but I didn't really see, or look." Happy frowned,

"I thought she got better. She was fine this morning, what went wrong?" Tony caressed Ana's cold cheek.

Tony laid Ana in her bed, now conversing with his friends. "Somethings wrong."

"How so?" Natasha questioned taking a step forward.

"She's weak. I've seen it before-" Tony thought of Pepper, "I think I know what is happening." Tony looked sternly at everyone, and also like he was in deep thought.

"What do we do?" Thor asked concerned, it seemed ironic that the almighty God of Thunder seemed worried of a fourteen-year-old girl.

"If I am deducing this right, she's losing energy. And it seems rapid, now I know the problem, I just need a solution."

It seemed like hours had passed, more so for Tony, it was only minutes. No one had spoken a word, everyone had dispersed. Thor with the sleeping beauty, Captain had gone on a run with Natasha Romanoff to clear their heads. Tony stuck to what he knew with Bruce Banner inside Stark's lab, vitals and machines hooked to Ana, displaying an active pulse, BPM, and more. Her heart rate seemed steady,

"Everything seems fine, but my concern is why does she look like that." Banner pointed to the monitor showing Anastasia.

"We'll have to do an x-ray. Maybe we're not seeing something, let's get her on the MIR." Tony implored, rushing off to the sleeping girl. Thor had carried her bridal style to the lab where a machine laid.

The beams were bright and the electromagnetic pulsed through the air. Soon it all collapsed and the power of the room switched off like a light bulb. "What the." Banner gaped amazed at the sight.

But the BPM went up alongside her pulse, and it seemed clear. "Energy." Tony spat wide-eyed. And as clear as crystal Thor seemed to understand the man,

They started to explain it to Banner.

"Anastasia as you know is no ordinary girl. She processes power, unimaginable strength." Thor started waving his hands about.

"She needs energy, it's her fuel. Like how cars need petroleum or diesel-" Tony continued,

"So we plug her to an energy source. Like an outlet, but how do we connect a human entity?" Banner asked, deep in thought.

"Come on, Banner, you're a scientist aren't you?" By this time even Thor looked slightly confused, and Tony huffed letting out a heavy sigh.

"We have an energy source right here-" he pointed at Thor who wide-eyed,

"How am I an energy source?" Thor questioned loudly, throwing his arms up, frustrated with the lack of knowledge.

"We use Thor, God of Thunder. As a source, he descends lighting which is energy." Banner clicked,

"You got it!" Tony chimed with a proud smile.

"But how do we connect?" Thor wondered looking at Tony as he was a mad man. "Besides my power will kill her, no human has amounted to my strength before. We don't know of the repercussions."

"But every minute we waste that we don't do anything, she becomes weaker and who knows when that timer runs out." Tony concluded looking at Thor than to Banner with pained eyes.

They all look to her, Anastasia who laid on the gurney, withering of pain and suffering tormented. As her bones through her olive skin became visible.

"What do I need to do?" Thor asked his mind determined to help this woman, but he was still cautious.

Bruce Banner hooked up wired pads to Thor's temples monitoring his brain waves and vital signs, Tony did the same to Anastasia.

"Don't worry, kid. You'll be up in no time." Tony whispered to Anastasia, he texted Pepper she should be notified of what was happening.

And instantaneously Pepper was on her way to see the results.

"Peppers on her way, she needs to be here for this." Tony informed Thor and Banner as they nodded in understanding.

"Okay, so these-" Banner gestured to the pc screens and to the wired lubed pads on Thor's Temples, "-are to monitor the brain. Right now it's normal." Thor nodded,

"Now, we'll be out of the room when you do it-"

"Do what?" Thor asked Tony to cut it off, Tony.

"Well put some of you in her. Since you're a reliable energy source. Thor will use some of his power to charge up Ana. Hoping that will suffice to help, but we'll be monitoring both of you on the other end of the glass." Ana was mumbling something incoherent, Pepper rushed into the room shouting something that neither anyone understood.

"What's going on?" Pepper flustered as she held onto Anas's hand.

"I'll explain once we are out." Tony ushered Pepper from the room. And she complied but not with a slight struggle. "She'll be alright."

Tony explained at first Pepper wasn't keen on the experiment. With Thor's power in Ana, "What if it kills her, hm?" Pepper questioned raising a brow she crossed her arms over her chest.

"That's a risk, but she isn't just any human. A normal human wouldn't withstand the power, Ana has a chance. She is energy, and right now that's what she hasn't got." Bruce testified staring at Thor whose eyes were closed.

"So, shared energy." Pepper stated now calm and relaxed looking at Ana attached to God via wires.

"Thor, deep breathes-'' Tony voiced through an intercom radio, "- Think, of channeling your power to her." So Thor nodded complying with the billionaire's request.

Thor thought of Ana, he looked at her. Pictured her in his mind. Her short brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. Freckles dotting her face, the clothes she wore.

Jeans and a white shirt. And the more he thought of it, the power he let go. His energy radiating from him into her.

In awe everyone watched, it wasn't visible like smoke or dust particles but more of a gust of pressure. Soon enough Anas BPm rose alongside her heartbeat, 80BPM.

"Everything is normal." Banner informed, Pepper was hopeful.

"Come on, Kid." Tony puckered his chapped lips and clapped his hands together, hope coated his eyes. His heartbeat rapidly. The intensity of knowing if it did work was suffocating.

"It's working." Banner smiled cheerfully.

But as her body packed itself full of fat and flesh and soon she was whole again, her heart rate climbed.

"Tony, her heart rate is 120." Pepper looked at Tony as he looked at her.

"You got to pull her out." Pepper started hurried as she tried to enter the room.

"No! You'll burn from the heat." Tony warned, grasping Pepper's wrist.

"He's burning off energy and heat. It's like a microwave in there. Go in and you'll get third-degree burns or worse." Tony informed sternly.

"Thor, you have to stop. Her heart rates climbed rapidly. She'll go into cardiac arrest." Banner told through the intercom,

But Thor was in deep, he radiated his power like waves after waves. Till he would feel exhausted. "Thor you need to stop!" Pepper banged on the window,

"125, 130, Tony!-" Bruce looked at Tony, and Tony looked at him; they both looked worried.

But then a burst of light struck their eyes and they had to shield themselves from the intensity of the bright light.

And there she stood, Anastasia. Slightly hovering above the ground, light orange dust particles illuminated her. Her eyes weren't red, they were orange, her skin was glowing. The light had ceased and everyone was staring in shock.

Did they do it?

Of course, Thor tried to reach out, to touch Ana. But Ana was hot to the touch making Thor wince, it was ironic that the strong god couldn't withstand heat.

"The room temperature is 90 but she's still connected somehow." Banner looked at his screen,

"What's it read?" Pepper questioned her eyes wandering trying to find hers.

"She's almost 150 but is climbing down."

And as Banner said it reached a normal rate, Anastasia was now wired.

So everyone watched as Ana flopped to the floor, Ana let out a deep breath, a golden wisp of smoke came out, she didn't know what it was. There was no real explanation at the time to know,

Suddenly it was safe to be in the room. And Pepper was the first at her side.

"I am okay, actually I am better than okay." Everyone stared at her as she looked up, Ana jumped to her feet bouncing on her heels.

"I feel alive." Anastasia was filled with extreme amounts of energy causing her to be static and hyperactive. Her brain function scans were showing and Tony noticed this.

"Jesus, your brain waves are all over the place." Bruce looked at Tony who looked deep in thought.

"You gotta burn some of this energy, it's like hyping a kid on sugar but amping it up a hundred times more." Pepper was right,

No one was back, so Ana got time to herself for a bit. Pepper suggested that she should go on a run maybe it'll tire her out. "Why do we have one here." It was ironic, Pepper made Happy buy this expensive mill for Tony.

As Tony was eating too many fatty foods, and his exercising had been diminishing. So this thread mill ought to have helped. Tony started to keep a plan and he stuck to the routine. Twice a day for an hour and a half each, he did this for a month. And then gave up.
