Nabi's POV

"Shhh.... Stay quiet," Eli whispers as we hide behind the broken furnitures outside the hospital. We were the only ones left, the others already got sent back to the manor already.

I felt his hand move to my face, covering my mouth as Jack comes nearer.

Usually, it would be normal for us to kite at this time. But it was a time where hunters are filled with bloodlust, the host (I'm the host in this book btw) had allowed a week for the hunters to torture us for some reason.
We need to ask Esther about this sometimes....

Anyways, that means any hunter gets to spill blood. That's why we're scared to even show up.

Jack growls, red glows where making his glare much more scary. Eli shushes me and holds me tighter. "Let's just wait till he surrenders," he says and looks up to peak.

Jack swiftly turns his head to us, walking closer to our position. I gulped as Jack chuckles evilly.

Eli grabbed my hand and pulled me to the ruins nearby. He pushed me in the locker and got in.

We were pressed to each other, our hearts beating because Jack was close.
I felt Eli sneak his hands to my waist. "Don't worry, I'll protect you," he whispered, pulling my chin up and placing his lips on mine.

Even in this confined place with a blood hungry hunter outside....

He still manages to calm down the storm in me.

I kiss back and after a few seconds, we hear Jack yelling in frustration.

Jack groans and stabs the floor "Fine! I surrender! I can't even f*cking enjoy this match dammit," he mumbles as we get teleported back to the manor.

Naib suddenly approaches us and grabs Eli's collar "You think you're sly?! I've been watching you guys!" he growls as he slams the man on to a wall. I forgot the host gave them permission to spectate. Eli tried to get away, but Naib was obviously stronger.

"Naib no!" I yell out as I try to push his hands away. William decided to stop the fight, going in between the two and shielding Eli.

I felt tears. The fright from the match and this tension made me break down.

I stomped my way to Naib and slapped him. Hard.

"Why are you like this?! I'm not a kid anymore! I can handle myself! Plus he was only trying to protect me for pete's sake!" I argue. He gave me an angered look, tightly gripping my shoulders as he does. I swear he never hurts me like this.....

"ARE YOU DENSE AND BLIND? HE KISSED YOU! IM JUST TRYING TO PROTECT YOU OK! I'M NOT GONNA LOSE YOU AGAIN! SO GET THAT IN YOUR THICK SKULL AND OBEY ME! I'M SICK AND TIRED OF YOU ALWAYS TAKING HIS SIDE! WHY?! DO YOU LOVE HIM MORE THAN YOUR OWN BROTHER?!" He yells at me. Everyone froze.

He suddenly changed his expression of regret.

.... Did he just.... snap?

He's not my brother..... My brother is caring, stupid, and lovable. This. This person is a monster.

I push him away, looking at him as he
gives me a sad face "N-Nabi loo-" I ran.

I'm not looking back.

That's not my brother.....

Eli's POV

I watch as Nabi runs away. I bet she's going to the church. We usually talk there, away from all of..... this.

A thud was heard from behind me. I turn around and saw Naib who got pushed down by William "Way to go, you bastard!" William scoffs. Kurt shakes his head "You shouldn't have snapped dude," Liam said and clicked his tongue.

Vera rolled her eyes "Ugh, men," she mumbled as she polishes up her perfumes.

Naib had his head down. Esther was at his back, comforting him. "J-just leave him alone! He just wants the best for her...." she exclaimed, aiding Naib up and making him sit on a chair.

I should check on Nabi....

Nabi's POV

Stupid.....

He is so stupid....

"FOR GOODNESS SAKE I'M AN ADULT!" I yell out as I throw a rock at one of the chairs. I was sitting in the reception area, it is where me and Eli would talk to escape reality.

And some times pretend like were a married couple, but no one needs to know that.

I curl up to a bell and let out a sob. His grip still left a mark on my shoulders.
"Why.... would he hurt me? Am I ... annoying? a problem? Does he think I'm too much of a burden?" Many questions pop up in my head. This is too stressing.... I wish Eli was here to talk this out....

"Why, dear. Maybe we should change that?" A voice shot through the silence of my sobbings.

A french accent.....

Oh no. A hunter.

I quickly turn around, and met Joseph's gaze. His eyes were red, meaning he is also hungry for bloodlust. A grin was displayed on his face as well.

I swear the host loves the hunters more.

He comes closer and swing at me. I barely dodge as I went to a pallete.

I started kiting I guess, lasting for 3 minutes.

He chuckles as he starts walking closer. "Don't be afraid my dear...." he coos, swinging again, harshly. It hit my leg, making it bleed. I gasp in pain as I fell to the floor. It hurts so much....

I was crawling to the exit, until he steps on my back, preventing me to move.

He cackles as he raises his sword right at where my heart would be. This isn't a real match so there's no rules. He can.... kill me.

I guess this is it.

Naib, I forgive you.

Eli.... I love you.

I saw the sword come down, so I closed my eyes.

Seconds passed but I didn't feel pain. But I felt a liquid drop to my face. Is Joseph crying?

I decided to look.

Eli was on top of me, his mouth was spilling out blood. I look down and saw Joseph's saber, it went through his stomach area. I gasp as I look back at Eli. He smiled at me.... "I-I knew you would be here...." he gurgles out. I scream as Joseph pushes the sword in further. Eli's hands that were at the sides of my head were shaking, but held strong because as soon as he gives up, I'll get stabbed as well.

I was crying at this point.

I gun was fired and I was pulled away. I didn't want to leave Eli, so I struggled. I saw him get carried by William, blood dripping making a trail.

I stopped struggling and sunk into the arms of the one holding me, seeing familiar black sleeves. Naib.

I quickly pushed him away with an angered face and tears streaming down my face. I faced him as I gritted my teeth. "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! IF YOU JUST... UNDERSTOOD ME THEN NONE OF THIS HAPPENED! I HOPE YOU GO BLIND AND USELESS!" I burst out. I honestly didn't know what I was saying.

All I know is I blame him for Eli's possible death.

My mind blanked out.

Before he could even reply, I ran away, following William and Eli.

No one's POV

Naib stood froze, tears falling from his face. He didn't mean for this.

Esther runs to him, hugging the boy. Naib felt small thin arms embrace him, making him remember when him and Nabi would hug.

He broke down, hitting the floor and pulling Esther with him. He sobbed as he leans onto the girl. "M-my f-fault.... I-I killed.... E-eli...." He sobs out, holding Esther's arms. He yells out, making his grip tighter.

"I'm a monster!" he screams out as he breaks down. Esther felt tears stream down her face as well, feeling the sadness radiating from him. "It's ok Naib...." she tries to comfort.

Even with her warm comforting words, it can't melt his cold, broken heart.

Nabi's POV

I sat on the chair beside Eli's bed. He hasn't woken up. It's been 30 minutes already.

I stared at his face, his cover removed letting me see his face.

He looks so peaceful and handsome.

I caress his face, feeling his smooth skin and hair. "I'm sorry...." I whisper, breaking down and laying my head on his open palm.

Just then, Emily comes in. I quickly stood up, ready for the announcement. "H-how is he?" I quickly ask. Sh bit her lip as she looks at me. I already know it's bad news.

"There's a 75-25 percent chance....." She announces. I gulp as I open my mouth "W-which one says he'll survive?" I ask, biting my lip.

"The 25%," she answers.

I put my hand on my mouth, choking in a sob. I felt tears fall down as I sit down on the chair again. She quickly came to aid. "W-we'll have to see in the morning..." she adds, leaving when I didn't give an answer.

I face the seer. I hold back my tears, but I can't, knowing the person I'm with is gonna die because of me.

I lay my hear on his chest, feeling his faint heartbeat. It calms my nerves, but scares me that at any time, it would stop.

I sob as I hug his body, climbing up the bed with him and making his arms hug me. I look up at hid face, remembering every detail about it. "Eli.... Eli Clark.... I know none of this would have happened if I just talked with him, like when we used to talk at the church. Remember that one time we made pretend of getting married? Good times..." I giggle. Remembering how I acted like a bride and upon reaching the front where he was waiting, he said his imaginary vows and said I do.

After that, our first kiss.

I giggle as I remember when he pretended that the rings he found In Vera's jewelry box was a good idea to steal.

I smiled as I lean up, kissing his cheeks. "Hey, we still have to reach our goal, don't die on me yet, idiot," I joke, leaning to his body and closing my arms.

*Timeskip, Midnight*
No one's POV

Naib and Esther came back to the manor, after saying goodnight to each other. Naib started walking to his room, still guilty and upset.

He passed the room Eli was in. He decided to visit him and say sorry. Naib didn't expect his sister to be there, sleeping beside the man.

Naib didn't care. His guilt was stronger.

He walked over to the two, sitting on the chair. He stared at the two. "I shouldn't have snapped. You guys belong to each other...." he whispers, his hand making his way up to Nabi's face and moving a strand of hair out of the way.

He caress his sister's hair, chuckling as Nabi leans in to his touch. "I just wanted to protect you..." he whispers and felt tears stream down his face.

Naib quickly got up before he breaks down. Quickly exiting the room and closing the door. He leans onto the closed exit and slides down, crying as guilt, sadness, and anger to his self fills him inside.

He looks at his hands, quickly forming a fist, punching and slapping himself "Stupid... stupid... monster..." he repeats.

He stops and curls into a ball, sulking.

"Nabi's right... I'm a monster... The worst brother...." He mumbles.

"Did you regret it?" a voice asks.

Naib nodded, not caring about who's voice it was.

"You shouldn't have spectated. Would you like me to save him?" the voice offers.

Naib was interested, so he looked up, only to find a short cloaked person. "Who are you?" He asks.

The cloacked person clicks their tongue. "Do you want me to save him or not?" Naib quickly nodded. The cloaked person chuckled as they snaps their fingers. "He is well now, buuuutttt, there's a catch. Are you willing to give anything up, just for her happiness?" they ask once again.

Naib stopped and stared at my hands. Should he? Will it make him happy? I mean, if she's happy, then he's happy...

"Yes," Naib answered, before blacking out.

*Timeskip to morning*

Esther went down from her room, stopping at the living room when she saw a familiar green cloak sitting in one of the chairs. She smiled and went over.

"Hey Naib!" she greets. The man's back was facing her so she can't see his face.

"Why hello Esther," he greets back. Esther was confused why her friend won't look at her, so she went infront of him, but he looked down.

Sighing, Esther grabbed his face gently "Naib, I know you're sad and all b-" she gasped and stared at his face, specifically his eyes. Light grey.

Naib was just..... staring.

Esther covered her open mouth with her hand "N-naib.... you're eyes..... What did you do?" She stutters out.

Naib chuckles. "I might have done a deal with the devil,".

Nabi's POV

I know it was morning, but I didn't want to know what it brought. It's either I'm sleeping with my love or I'm sleeping with a corpse.

I cry as I remember what happened last night, tightening my embrace on the possibly dead man.

I wasn't expecting someone to caress my hair though.

"Nabi... why are you crying?"

I quickly jumped up, hugging him by his neck and sobbing on his shoulder. He chuckled, hugging my waist. "You're fine! Eli you're safe!" I exclaimed, looking at him. "I guess I am," he answers, placing his lips on mine.

We pulled away and I sat beside him, hugging his arm. "Go talk to him," Eli mumbled out.

I was planning to talk to my brother actually. I felt bad saying things like that to him. It was my fault. He only wanted the best for me.

I nodded, getting out of the bed. He followed behind me, surprisingly.

We walk hand in hand to the living room. It was pretty late so the others might already be hanging out in there.
As we enter the room, I quickly jump up "Guys Eli's fine!" I exclaimed. But no one reacted. They were all staring at my brother with sad expressions. Heck, Esther was crying.

Naib chuckled "That's good to hear, sister," he responded, his back facing us. He was staring at the wall right across from him..... what's happening?

I walked closer to him, putting my hand to his shoulder, to which he flinches. "Naib what's wrong?" I ask. My hand was taken away by Martha, shaking her head no and looking down.

"Nabi? Hey sis, hold on I'm gonna hug you haha," he joked, standing up with his head down. As he started walking to us, he tripped on..... literally nothing. "Stupid carpets, amiright?" He joked, trying to stand up but keeps on tripping and hitting stuff.

Esther quickly kneels next to him, making him kneel also. "Thanks Emily," he says.

Emily? That's obviously Esther! I went to him and knelt in front of him, grabbing his face. "That's not Emily you id-" I raised his head, seeing grey eyes instead if blue.

I stepped back.

My brother.....

Is he blind?

I bumped into Eli, who catches me with the same shocked face. "How did this happen?" He asks. Esther stands up, aiding Naib up also. "I made a deal with a devil," he answered.

He told us everything.

He... did it for me.... He gave up his eye sight for my happiness.... I'm such a burden to him. I cry out and hug him, he barely caught me and almost fell but regain his stance.

"Brother... I didn't mean any of it! I love you and I know you just wanted to protect me! Im sorry!" I cry out. I felt him rub my back. "It's ok. Remember, I would do anything just for my crybaby," he says and pushes me away gently. I smile.

He then turned and pointed to the lamp "And you, Eli. If I ever hear her cry I'm gonna fead you to the hunters," he says, making all of us laugh.

I stood up and went to Eli, holding me.
Esther went to him and aided him to his room "Come on, we need to talk to someone...." she say and lead him upstairs.

"Those two are so close, closer than you two," Eli comments. I rolled my eyes and hit him, making him chuckle.

I'm so lucky to be his sister.

Extra

Esther: *breaks down door* Alright mom, we need him for the future so fix him up.

Me: I don't know what you're talking about.

Esther: *points at dark cloak at dirty clothes bin* moooommmm explain

Me:.... Satan visited and left his cloak.

Esther: He doesn't wear one! Ugh, just fix him!

Me: How would you know?! Fine! *gives back eyesight* I can't even enjoy this....

Naib: Uuughhh..... *sleeps*

Esther: Sigh.... he's ok. *hugs* mom stop interfering with the story. *leaves*

Me: psh... I like the hunters more anyway... *turns back to table* So y'all have an ace? Also Joseph thanks for the stabbing by the way

Joseph: Don't mention it. Also..... *leans to my ears* Joker has a an ace but he doesn't want to give it up.

Joker: Joseph you asshole!
