~ 3rd Person POV ~

He was feeling anxious and did not want to be in a large crowd, so he asked his math teacher if he could stay in class during the pep rally to work. As Taehyung packed up, walking down the hall, he heard yelling and saw Jungkook and his friends panicking in the science lab with a fire on the table.

Jungkook was shouting and his friends running out the room  when Taehyung had turned the corner. Pure fear and panic in their eyes as the fire got bigger and there was little to nothing that they could do

Taehyung heard Jungkook's friend yelling at him. In words, "what did you do!?" Indicating that Jungkook had did something wrong in order to cause the fire

Jungkook's friend said they needed to leave immediately. The boy watched as all three boys ran from the scene and just leaving the fire there. Taehyung ran into an empty room and saw Jungkook and his friends hurrying back to the stadium gym

Looking around, Taehyung found a fire extinguisher. He entered the lab, extinguished the fire, and soon after, the fire alarm rang due to the large amount of smoke that was in the room, some of it even going out into the hallway, completely smoking it up

This wasn't going to be good

Taehyung noticed that Jungkook had forgotten his backpack. Quickly and without a hint of hesitation, he grabbed Jungkook's bag and shoved it into his own locker before running back to the math room. His hands shaking as he knew that everyone was going to have to leave the building

As the fire alarm went off, all student had to exit the building immediately. Outside with the other students, everyone looking at one another, not knowing what has happened and why on earth everyone had the evacuate during the pep rally

" where is he..." Taehyung mumbled to himself as he looked around, wanting to see if Jungkook was okay but he couldn't spot him in the crowd of students

He waited until the principal emerged with a microphone

"I know you all are wondering why we needed all students and faculty to leave the building during a pep rally. There has been a fire in the science lab. We had thought that we were dealing with a simple fire but, we discovered a pan, sugar, and potassium nitrate on the table. Which only means that the fire was started intentionally " She called out and everyone gasped

Taehyung glanced over at the crowd, just wanting to see Jungkook was okay. Finally, he spotted the raven and it broke his heart. He saw Jungook nervously biting his nails, looking scared more than he has ever seen. The bright and confident boy he knew, he was seriously scared for his life and his future

This could ruin him

He felt sorry because he knew Jungkook didn't mean any harm. This boy wouldn't never hurt anyone on purpose. His heart was too good for that

'The rally will resume next week. For now, please return to your home rooms and you are allowed to leave and go back home. Thank you " The principal announced and motioned everyone to follow directions and go back inside the building

Everyone went back inside to their classes. On his way to class, Taehyung passed by the principal's office and caught himself hearing the conversation of a meeting involving the principal, the police, and the school board talking about the fire and the extreme consequences that the person who started it will face. His heart dropped for Jungkook

This is a serious matter, student safety is our first priority, whoever did this was wrong and reckless. We need find them and expel them right now and today. Let's go check the camera and find out who did this

Taehyung didn't know what to say...Jungkook was going to get expelled if they found out he didn't this

Taehyung started to think that if Jungkook didn't graduate, it only meant he would fail the 12th grade, then had to repeat it, he would have lost all of his scholarship that he worked so hard for. Jungkook won't get into college and that means they can't get married. They could be together if he gets in trouble

So he decided to take the blame. He didn't know why he was doing this but he will do anything for Jungkook. Yes Taehyung only knew Jungkook for 3 months since he moved to this high school and why would he do this over a male who doesn't know him and will never recognize him and that didn't matter

He loved him

Deciding to take the blame, he was uncertain of his motives but was willing to do anything for Jungkook. Despite knowing Jungkook for only three months since arriving at the high school

Anyone in their right state of mind would wonder why on earth would he do this over a male who doesn't know him and will possibly never recognize him

He did it because he loved him

He knew what he needed to do and he didn't regret it

He knew Jungkook started this, so he'd get in big trouble they checked the cameras. Taehyung sighed, walked to the principal's office, and knocked. Miss Moon, the principal, greeted him at the door

" Can I talk to you for a minute, Mrs. Moon?" He asked her quietly and she nodded his head. She welcomed him in, excusing the school board and police to wait outside. Taehyung sat down in front of her, ready to take the blame for Jungkook

"How can I help you today Taehyung?"

" I have something to tell you " He whispers

" What is it Taehyung? What's the matter?"

"I did it" Taehyung sighed as he confessed. She looked at him confusingly, not understanding at first

"What do you mean, Taehyung?" Miss Moon questioned, not knowing what he meant

"I caused the fire." Taehyung confessed as he looked down at his fingers. He could hear her grasp in surprise since Taehyung was a good student who never did anything wrong his whole time here

"Taehyung...why in the world did you do that?" Miss Moon asked, looking down at him with disappointment in her eyes. Never thinking a student like Taehyung would do something like this

"It was a mistake. I was trying to create a color smoke bomb for my friend, but I accidentally spilled something and it caught on fire. I used a fire extinguisher to let it out..." Taehyung explained, refusing to look at her the whole time

He knew the consequences of his actions but didn't seem to care about being expelled, going to jail, getting kicked out, or not walking the graduation stage. As along as Jungkook wasn't in trouble. He really didn't care what happened to him

He wanted to make sure Jungkook could be successful in life and happy. He couldn't do that if he got expelled. He deserved to be happy in the future. He was a hard worker and Taehyung wasn't about to let all of his hark work and dedication go to waste

"Taehyung... you burned half of the lab and ruined it. You can get expelled for this, you do know that right. You put a lot of students at risk Taehyung" Miss Moon said to him. She should have been much harsher but, Taehyung was a good student who usually was prefect

Taehyung looked down and started crying, not because he was sad for taking the blame but because he wanted Jungkook to not get in trouble. If fake crying could make her believe him more, than so be it

"Y-yes Miss Moon I know, and I will take any punishment you give me. I was irresponsible and I take full responsibility for my actions " He said with tears in his eyes and his lips quivering

"The school has insurance, so that won't be an issue but, you will still have to pay a 5000 dollar fee for the damage" and Taehyung nodded his head

"Since you are not a bad student at all, we will not involving the police. However, you will be suspended for a week, prohibited from attending school events for the remainder of the year, and required to complete 12 hours of community service every week. Do you understand Taehyung?" She asked him

Taehyung simply nodded and agreed to his punishment , as long as the security cameras were not checked

He left with his head hung low, feeling sad about having to explain the situation to his parents and using his graduation money to cover the damages. Nonetheless, as long as Jungkook did not face any consequences, he was willing to accept anything

He would do it again if he could
