(FILLER) Can't Sleep?

"Dad shouldn't be home," Keefe said as he, Dex, Ro, and Lovise trailed through the doorway.  He began walking around the large house.  "My room's this way."

Ro and Lovise snickered as Dex's cheeks turned pink and they began the walk, which was shorter than what Keefe remembered.  Yeah, they took the usual turns and went up the stairs and then took more turns, but he could swear it was usually two minutes longer than that.  Whatever.  They were there eventually.

Keefe dropped his bag by his door and turned around to close it.  Locking the bodyguards out, he turned to Dex.  "Why don't you try sleeping again and I can work on some stuff?"

"Is this the only reason we're skipping?"  Dex questioned, slowly and awkwardly making his way to Keefe's unmade bed.

Keefe shrugged.  He hoped Dex didn't mind his... extremely messy room.  "I have a bunch of work - which shouldn't be too hard, I just need to fill some stuff that I already know in.  I figured you could use the sleep-" he sat down on his chair and swivled to face the Technopath who was still taking off his shoes- "considering you stayed up all night and lunch is only an hour.  Thank you... again, by the way..."

Dex rolled over, lifting the covers over himself as he tried to conceal a yawn.  "Don't mention it."

Keefe grinned as the Technopath rolled over and reached in a drawer of which was already open, pulling out a sketch book.

.-.

Dex felt his face get hotter.  The bed smelled like Keefe, and this felt strangely intimate.  Even though he knew the Empath was just being thoughtful, it felt kind of weird.  Seriously, he'd never bring someone into his messy room unless they were best friends, and even though he'd kissed Keefe and was acting like his boyfriend, he wasn't sure if they were at that level, sadly.

He reopened his eyes, making an attempt to even out his breathing as he stared at the blue wall in front of him, parts of it littered with sticky notes that said various things like, 'Don't forget to restock pranking supplies!'

The light sound of sketching made it's way to his ears and he fought off the urge to turn around.  He didn't want Keefe to think that his efforts on trying to get Dex to sleep were being wasted in anyway.  Then he'd just feel bad and it'd be awkward... Yeah, nope.  He was faking sleep for two hours if he had to.  And then pretending to wake up.

.-.

Keefe smirked, lightly setting down his notebook and pencil before launching himself on the bed - onto Dex - who let out a strangled squeak of surprise as his eyes snapped open.

"Can't sleep?"

"I mean, I was drifting off a bit until you decided to throw yourself at me," Dex admitted, turning over.  Keefe figured the action was meant as a 'you can get off me now' gesture, but he stayed laying on the Technopath anyways.

"It's all good."  Keefe shrugged.  "I figured you wouldn't be able to, but I should at least try like the great friend I am."

"Gee thanks... So why'd you bring me here?"

"Well, you're clearly still too tired to focus in class."  He pointed out.

Dex looked away with a slight frown.  "I'm not that tired."

"Yeah, uh," Keefe brought a finger to the other's forehead, "Empath here."

"Yeah, uh," Dex mumbled, pushing his head up so that he'd be crushing Keefe's finger had the boy not moved his arm back, "my body here."

"Emotions can tell you and me both more than you realize."  Keefe smirked at the way Dex's emotions seemed to be affected by the sentence.  Interesting...

Dex sighed and let his head crash back down onto one of the many pillows.  "So what now?"

"I dunno."  Keefe admitted, also letting his head down.  Though, it landed on Dex's chest.  "You're pretty comfy though.  Maybe I'll sleep."

"You're heavy."

"That's rude."

"That's honest." Dex wiggled.  "You do too many workouts."

Keefe snickered.  "Not my fault I don't wanna be a skinny gremlin."

"Don't call me out."

"Well then, don't call me out."

"Well then, don't call me out," Dex mimicked.  Not the way elves typically did however - this was more of a whiny fake voice.

Keefe shook his head.  This boy was ridiculous, but in the best way possible.  Too bad he was so oblivious.
