season one; episode five
'Bloody Mary'
third person's pov
casper, wyoming

Today was a good day as neither Roslyn nor CJ had to work which was a bonus as neither of them wanted to in the first place. CJ was out of town for a couple days as Roslyn is playing a game on her PlayStation with music in the background. She was playing a racing game, as she only really plays racing games. She is a chicken to play shooting games as they lowkey scare her if she is being honest.

She has Nirvana Smells Like Teen Spirit playing on her CD player, as she has a collection of her burner CD's. They are her most prized possession, outside of a necklace that Sam had given her when she was seventeen.

She was mouthing the words to the song as her attention was on her game, as her phone has been ringing but she was too busy to see who was calling her. When she finished the race, she turned down her music, so it doesn't sound like she is at a concert.

She grabbed her phone without looking to see who it was. Also, not realizing who was calling her. "What?" She asked which only made the other person have a shitty grin on their face as it wasn't Sam.

"Hi, to you too Rossy." The voice said as Roslyn made a face at hearing the voice. It was Dean. "It is about time; you answer I was getting worried that you didn't want to talk to me."

"Dean, what do you want? I am busy." Roslyn replied annoyed that Dean has called her. Out of all people in the world why must it be Dean Winchester.

"Ooh, doing what. Like Sammy, you have no life, or friends." Deam joked which made Roslyn sighed along with a roll of her eyes.

"Please, tell me you have a valid reason for calling me. Otherwise, I am hanging up." Roslyn said as she popped a cheese ball in her mouth with her free hand. She can honestly say that Dean has never called her.  But this wasn't how she wanted her first call with Dean to go.

"Dean, who are you talking to?" Was a voice that made Roslyn have a smile on her face as it was Sam.

"To your girlfriend, who is waay better than Jessica." Dean says which made Roslyn snort at what Dean said. Even if it shouldn't have been funny as Jessica is dead, but Roslyn couldn't stop herself from doing it.

"Why are you talking to Ros?" Sam asked his brother as there was a little bit of noise on the other end as Sam was trying to get his phone back from Dean.

Roslyn just listened being highly amused by this. Who needs music playing in the background when you have two brothers in the background fighting over a phone.

When Sam did eventually get his phone back from Dean, he put his phone to his ear with a side-eyed look directed at Dean.

"Hi, sorry about Dean." Sam says which made Ros smile as even though it has been a couple days since the two seen each other, she missed him so much. Dean give his brother a glare like he didn't do anything.

Which in his eyes, he didn't. He will stand by that.

"It's fine. He was being stupid." Ros said as Dean turned his head towards the girl.

"Hey! I can hear you; you know." Dean added into the conversation as Sam smiled at the two even if they are separated.

"Dean, get out of this conversation." Sam tells his brother as Ros let out a little chuckle.

"He can hear us, Sam." Ros tells Sam which made the younger Winchester sigh, as it is also quiet in the car without the music playing.

That and because Dean wants to eavesdrop into the conversation.

What?

He's nosy.

"I hope he didn't say anything too weird. If he did, I am so sorry." Sam says to Ros as she put another cheese ball in her mouth, as she played another round of her game on her PlayStation.

"He didn't, just being stupid." Ros says as Dean once again turned his head towards Sam as if giving Ros a look, even if she is on the phone.

"That's good. What you doin?" Sam asked her as Ros smiled as she took a sip from her drink which was a Gatorade.

"Not much, just playing a racing game." Ros says to Sam as he smiled at what she said. If he could, he could listen to her talk for hours. He loves hearing voice, as it makes him happy.

"Sounds fun." Sam says as he could almost hear her smile on her face as she went silent, that and because he didn't her game music. She must have left her couch where she was for four hours. "We are heading to Ohio." Sam says as if Ros could give him a weird look, she would.

Why would he want to go to Ohio, in the first place. Of all places, why?

"Why? Ohio is dead." Ros said, as she doesn't know that Dean and Sam are supernatural hunters.

Sam wants to tell her the truth, but he also doesn't want anything to happen to her, that could possibly put her life in danger. He would go on a killing spree if something happened to his best friend.

"There's something that we have to go and do. That's why we are going to Ohio." Sam says which only made Roslyn more confused.

Do what? Why do they have to go to Ohio?

"Okay, that's odd for you but okay." Ros says as Sam took a deep breath that she bought the lie. Mainly because she doesn't want to argue about it. She also knows that Sam wouldn't lie to her even if it isn't about something stupid.

But only little did she know that he is actually lying to her, as they are heading to Toledo, Ohio of a teenage girl who was with friends as they were having a sleep over and on a dare told her to say, bloody mary three times in her bathroom mirror, and her dad ended up dead.

So, in a way, it is the truth, but he didn't go in depth if the lie of why they have to go to Ohio, but he just didn't elaborate of why. "Be safe, that's all I am asking. Call me if you need anything, anything." Roslyn said as after that the two of them said their goodbyes, and Ros hung up.

Sam sighed as he leaned his head onto the back of the chair, as Dean turned his head towards his brother. He knows that something is bothering him but he just doesn't know what it is. "What's wrong with you?"

"I want to tell her, but I don't want anything to happen to her." Sam tells his brother, as it took Dean a moment to figure out what his brother was rambling about.

"I'm not stopping you, if you do. We aren't kids, Sam."

"I get that, but I just don't want to tell her, and something happens to her." Sam says to his brother, which makes him nod his head as he is the same with CJ. Hence why they never told Roslyn and CJ, because they don't want anything to happen to them.

That is something that both Sam and Dean have in common at least of that. That, and because they had a mutual agreement that they would do whatever they can to protect Roslyn and CJ.

"I get that, but you can tell her the truth, so that she doesn't hate you. Hell, even CJ doesn't know, at least she hasn't put two-and-two together of the truth. Given the fact that her dad used to be a hunter." Dean says as he was focused on the road, as they are heading to Toledo, Ohio, for the hunt. Well, the killing of the father at least.

"Yeah, I know. She's probably not going to talk to me anyway, when I do tell her." Sam says which made Dean turn to his brother momentarily.

"Why, not?" Dean asked his brother as he turned his attention back on the road.

"Because after she told me her ability that she can see spirits, me and her agreed of no secrets between us. Because I was the only person that she could trust, and she didn't want our secrets going to the wrong people, because she was bullied enough in school. So, for so long I just wanted to call her and tell her the truth. She would either leave me for the rest of my life or walk out of my life."

"Well, for starts if she leaves or walk out, she's not the girl for you." Dean says to his brother which now is Sam's turn to turn to his brother, as Sam gave him a skeptical look. "Second of all, yes she probably would be disappointed in the fact that you never told her. She would probably understand if anything, after she is done being disappointed."

"Are you saying that to me, or are you also talking about CJ? Or both of them."

Dean was hesitant of answering because Sam wasn't wrong, he was also talking about CJ probably not as subtly as he wanted. "Both." Dean admits to Sam, as the younger brother nodded his head as he was right.

later

"Sam wake up." Dean says to his brother as Sam wakes up confused. He sits up and looks around his surroundings. He's sitting shotgun in the Impala, which is parked in front of a large building.

"I take it I was having a nightmare." Sam says as he's been having nightmares of how Jessica died. She somehow got onto the ceiling of their bedroom, and next thing that Sam knew was that she caught fire and yeah.

"Yeah, another one." Dean says to his brother.

"Hey, at least I got some sleep." Sam says to his brother.

"You know, sooner or later we're going have to talk about this." Dean says to his brother.

"Are we here?" Sam asked, as he took another look around.

"Yup. Welcome to Toledo, Ohio." Dean says as Sam picks up a newspaper with Steven Shoemaker's obituary circled, from Dean.

After Sam looked at the obituary that was circled, he looked back at his brother. "So, what do you think really happened to this guy?" Sam asked his brother.

"That's what we're going to find out." Dean says as they get out of the car. "Let's go." He says, as they get out of the car and head up the building.

After the brothers got through the Morgue Tech, and Sam paying him money just to let them through as they are pretending to be Med Students.

"Now the newspaper said his daughter found him. She said his eyes were bleeding." Sam says as the morgue tech pulls back the sheet over Steven's face.

"More than that. They practically liquefied." The tech says.

"Any sign of a struggle? Maybe somebody did it to him?" Dean asked.

"Nope. Besides his daughter, he was all alone." The tech says.

"What's the official cause of death?" Sam asked.

"Ah, Doc's not sure. He's thinking massive stroke, maybe an aneurysm? Something burst up in there, that's for sure." The tech says.

"What do you mean?" Sam asked the tech.

"Intense cerebral bleeding. This guy had more blood in his skull than anyone I've ever seen." The tech guy says.

"What could cause something like that?" Sam asked.

"Capillaries can burst. See a lot of bloodshot eyes with stroke victims." The morgue tech says.

"Yeah? You ever see exploding eyeballs?" Dean asked.

"That's a first for me, but hey, I'm not the doctor." The morgue tech said.

"Hey, think we could take a look at that police report? you know for, uh...our paper." Dean says to the morgue tech.

"I'm not really supposed to show you that." The morgue tech says as Sam got annoyed, and he pulled out his wallet.

After that, the two brothers are walking down the stairs. "Might not be one of ours. Might just be some freak medical thing." Sam says to his brother.

"How many times in Dad's long and varied career has it actually been a freak medical thing and not some sign of an awful supernatural death?" Dean says to his brother.

"Uh, almost never." Sam says to his brother.

"Exactly." Dean says to his brother.

"Alright, let's go talk to the daughter." Sam says to his brother.

After they were done talking to Lily and Donna and almost getting busted by Charlie one of Donna's friends. The brothers were walking out to the car as they were going to go to the library so that they can find some more information about Bloody Mary.

"Isn't Rossy into this sort of thing? You know horror stuff." Dean says as Sam stopped in his tracks at what his brother said.

"You're not thinking about involving her into this are you?" Sam asked his brother, as Dean stopped walking, and he shrugged his shoulders. "I mean yeah, she watches horror movies, but supernatural stuff, no." He says to his brother as he shook his head at wanting Ros to get involved in this kind of job.

"Dude, we could use all the help we can get, think about it. With you two doing your research stuff, we could use the help." Dean says trying to persuade Sam into letting Roslyn into this.

He sighs, as he knows that Dean is right, but he isn't ready to tell Roslyn. It isn't so much that he doesn't want to tell her, but he just isn't ready to do so.

"Fine, but if something happens to her, I will kill you." Sam says as Dean didn't hesitate to take out his phone and dialed Ros' number. "Do you even know her number?"

"I memorized it from when I called her on your phone." Dean says as it only took Ros to pick it up on the second ring. "Hey, Ros, we need your help for something."

"What did you do? Are you two arrested? More like are you arrested." Ros said, as Sam stood next to his brother so that he can hear the conversation too. Sam grabbed his brother's phone.

"No, we're doing a thing, and we need your beautiful brain for help." He says as Ros couldn't help but blush when he said that.

"What thing?" Ros asked, Sam as she was putting her groceries away as she went to the grocery store.

"It is easier of telling you, it, when you are here. So, pack a bag for a couple days and get on the nearest flight to Toledo, Ohio."

"Oh, okay. You sure?" She asked, as Sam nodded his head at Ros.

"Please. See you when you land." Sam says as he hung up and turned to his brother.

"It's go, time. For now, let's do as much research as we can, until she lands." Dean says as Sam nods his head.

He is a little happy that he is seeing her again, but this wasn't the way that he wanted to in the first place. Ros knowing about the family business is going to be sooner versus later, like he had wanted.
