7 : The Faces You Remember

"We need to charge Freddy," said Gregory, quietly. The girl watched as he approached the animatronic, suddenly, a cavity in Freddy's chest opened up with a small hissing sound. Her eyes widened as large as dinner plates.

The inside of Freddy had a bunch of jet-black bars and wires in it, soft, orange-red lights attached to it gleamed. It looked tightly pack and claustrophobic.

But in the middle of all this, a small, hollow space could easily fit a little child in it. It was dark inside, but Gregory hopped in like a young kangaroo.

(Y/n) reached out towards him in concern, opening her mouth in protest, why is he entering Freddy like that? Gregory eyed her as he crouched into Freddy quietly, his irises shining.

"Don't worry, I'm safe in here."

"Are you-"

"I am," it was a quick response as Gregory was shut in the silent animatronic. Freddy stood straight with a sudden jolt and then marched towards a large, red machine that whirred quietly.

It had a thunderbolt icon that glowed cyan in the middle which caused blue light to cast shadows in the dark backroom of Freddy's lounge. It matched the bear animatronics intricate, cyan markings on his face and chest.

The girl watched as the sensory-triggered door of the power station open with a hiss, inviting the animatronic bear in.

With Gregory inside his chest, Freddy entered the power station with a certain stiffness in his movement. The girl thought it was strange but thought nothing more of it. The red station whirred with power and with a moments time the hatch opened right up, and the pair stepped out.

The girl wondered why Gregory joined in on the power station. Won't he get electrocuted? As if sensing her questioning them, Freddy spoke up:

"Do not worry for Gregory, he is fine," said the animatronic softly. His hatch opened up revealing Gregory who was preparing to jump out.

"See?" The girl nodded at the animatronic bear. She reached out a hand to the boy to help him out, for Freddy was large, and the drop was high. He paused and momentarily eyed the fingers outstretched for him. He blinked, as if confused, and took it.

The girl helped him out of Freddy. His shoes tapped on the floor when he landed on both feet. She let go of his hand, their fingers sliding against each other's. His hands were cold, like ice.

She thought of the ice lemonade that her mom makes in the summer. She had to let go, was so cold.

"There is a security badge located in the daycare. It will help you if you desire to advance in the further Pizzaplex," Freddy instructed Gregory to navigate through the building. "You must get through the lobby entrance and enter the daycare. But first, you need the daycare pass that you will find in a comp machine."

Gregory nodded. Freddy turned towards (y/n), his chest plate parted with a inaudible hiss and revealed what seemed to be a watch. The girl gasped and reached towards the gift with shining eyes.

"This is a Fazwatch, it's a device that will help me communicate with you. It will send you messages, it will as well show you a map of the area in which you are located." Freddy seemed to be smiling at her, though it was permanent. "If you are in need, you can click that button on the side and I will be summoned upon."

The watch was Freddy themed with silly, orange, bear ears on it. (Y/n) curled her hand around the cool plastic and took it out of the bear's chest, the scene felt surreal. She wrapped it around her wrist with a click. She found comfort in it, knowing that it was there. She wouldn't feel as lost with this watch in her possession now.

The watch's screen lit up a light blue, it showed a message that was a single smiley face. She looked up, starry eyed, into Freddy's vibrant hues. He gave her a fluid thumbs-up. She always wanted a cool watch like this but her parents said it'd be expensive.

It's even cooler now that Freddy gave it to her and that he can communicate with her now.

Gregory slowly placed his hand upon her wrist. His watch is a lot like hers! She smiled at the similarity. The boy led her out the backroom. Freddy watched as they left his room and then out the door, completely out of sight.

At least he will be able to communicate with them through their Fazwatch, though not all the time, for the signal is risky and easy to track. He won't be able to follow the children due to him avoiding suspicion as much as possible. Plus, his limited battery time, he will have to move as little as he can.

He trust the Gregory will protect his new companion.

The two ended up at the main entrance again. The golden Freddy statue greeted them in the main lobby. The air felt cooler now and sounds rung out into the air ominously when the area was completely silent.

The children's feet tapped against the tiled floor. The jazz music was louder here. When (y/n) looked around, she saw that the large place had a couple of doors and stairs leading to places. This place was surprisingly relaxed, but it probably would've been much different if the area was open.

(Y/n) saw to the side that there was a few bots here and there sweeping the floors quietly with whirring sounds, otherwise, they did not speak a word. They didn't even bat an eye at the two children. (Y/n) shivered, thinking to the security bot that chased her before. At least these ones seem to be peaceful.

They passed by the entrance's garage-like doors, (y/n) stared at these doors with yearning, these doors lead outside. Her memories returned when the doors shut right in front of her.

Gregory seemed to eye them too, though with much less longing, and more of glancing at what the girl was looking at instead. He then turned and took out a card from his pocket. He scanned it on the gate pass and it opened up. (Y/n) wondered how he got it.

They passed the large golden Freddy statue once more, it was the biggest one in the whole Pizzaplex, towering over them in mid-sing, smiling down at the world below. (Y/n) stared at their reflective twins, again. But once they got closer and closer to it, that's when she heard the sound of stomping footsteps and whirring, robotic sounds.

On the stairway, marching like a soldier with a wounded leg, was Chica. She looked dirty and roughed up, like she wasn't brand-new on the stage a few hours ago and she tousled with dirt. Her eyes twitched, her fingers curled up and released. She clicked and whirred squeakily, her beak gaped like a fish's.

(Y/n) squeezed Gregory's hand tightly and stared in fear with wide, glistening eyes. Memories flowing enter her consciousness of dark hallways and a lilting voice. Gregory bit his lip between his teeth, a look of wariness pinched his face. His eyes analyzed the area like a spy on a mission. He was strategizing like a chess player.

When Chica was on one side, Gregory was on the other. The stomping the animatronic caused was loud, but it made it easy to navigate where she would move next.

Gregory took advantage of this and stepped up the steps quietly while Chica went down the steps on the other side of the photo booth that was hiding each other from their view. It was quite convenient that it was there.

When the animatronic and the pair were at a distance from one another, Gregory grabbed the girl tightly by the arm and ushered her quietly up the marble stairs with him. Their feet made tapping sounds that made (y/n) flinch each time.

She was dragged into a set of doors, barely missing the neon Gift Shop sign hanged up on top. Gregory released her from his hold and let out a shaky breath in what seems to be relief.

It was dim in this spacious room, the neon plasters blanketed the room in a dark, shadowy magenta. There was shelves and displays showing off a variety of pricey plushies and other souvenirs that seemed scattered about in the area.

There was a single security bot that gleamed in the neon light. It surveyed the area emotionlessly. Stalking through the shelves and such in an endless, pattern-like loop.

Both the children eyed it warily, but (y/n) then looked at the big Freddy plush displayed on a counter in the middle. She wanted to reach out and cling onto it. This place is scary at night, (y/n) wondered what it would be like without Gregory by her side.

When the bot was a little ways away, Gregory began to steadily walk into the path. He trailed his eyes through the multitude of items but his gaze barely stayed in one place to examine them.

"Gregory, (y/n,) are you alright?" Said a hushed robotic voice from both their watches. The screen lit up a light blue.

"Yes."
"Yeah..."

The children said in unison. Gregory ducked a corner when the bot came reeling back. It's flashlight casting scary shadows across the room. (Y/n) hid behind a display, flinching as the light passed over her for a moments time.

The bot turned around and glided into the shadows. It melted into darkness, disappearing from view, but the children could still hear it's quite chorus. But one thing that never did go away was the fearful reminiscent look in Gregory's eyes.

(Y/n) was staring at his back in concern. He clearly was thinking about something that happened before. That look was on his face ever since they smoothly dodged Chica in the entrance.

As if sensing her concern, the boy slowly turned around, golden hues staring deep into hers. He opened his mouth and murmured words:

"You know, before I met you I got chased by animatronics. I feel like you encountered a similar situation as me," he averted his eyes, he is bad at admitting things, his fears. "But I had Freddy with me, and you... had no one."

(Y/n) nodded quietly. She was gripping her shoulders. The goosebumps clinging onto her did not seem to go. This is one of the few times where (y/n) just wanted to go to sleep.

She wanted to go to her bed and curl up. Where she could dream about fantasylands and rainbows. She could only assume Gregory felt the same way, too. But what she didn't know is that Gregory could not dream like her.

He could only remember.

This was supposed to be longer. An introduction to Sun but I assumed that would take forever 😂

I thank you for your patience! I'm trying to follow the game sequence a little more but just a heads up this story will not completely follow the game events. It will be more like a parody of those events.

I'm glad a lot of people are enjoying this story though! 🥰🥰
