29 : Dread

She quickly stuffed the badge into her pocket and shut the security office doors. She couldn't hear Chica anywhere nearby, she assumed the animatronic was on the far side of the building. She quickly made her way through the catwalks as she searched for any indication of an exit.

To the side, near the back of the catwalks, was a green,
metal door. It felt like it was miles away from the little girl. She quickly made her way to the door, but as she was approaching it, the metal catwalks beneath her began to shake and tremble repeatedly.

Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump! Bounced beneath her feet like drums, and the sickly sweet voice of Chica rang in her ears. Her body tensed up like a coil. She didn't dare look back as she darted to that metal door as fast as her aching legs could carry her.

She slammed it shut behind her and didn't even stop to see if that would hinder Chica as she pulled herself through another door that was nearby. The metal, automatic door shut behind her as quick as it opened for her. Resounding SLAMS thumped into her ears just like her racing heart.

She was in a much smaller office than the one before. It was cramped and grimy with a single monitor. On the monitor, there was that white and pink bear again with a silly mustache. He held a platter of pizza and adorned a chef's hat. Order now! It said, and the girl wondered why in the world this was here.

Pounds and slams pressed against one of the metal doors. Chica was trying to come in! The girl looked around frantically for any exit or anything that could be of use. Nothing. She pressed frantically on the monitor and instructions were spoken through a monotonous voice.

Before her, some camera appeared. Then she realized she could move it around. The instructions explained that this was a robot she was controlling. The robot was in some large kitchen, and she was supposed to make... pizza?

Suddenly an idea appeared in her head. It was the only thing that she could think of. Chica was known to love pizza. The girl knew of this before she was here. She followed the instructions and dragged the robot around to make pizza. The sound of Chica pounding the door and the monitor's digital clock ticking made her nervous, but she successfully made pizza.

When the food was done in the oven, the robot took it out. The resounding slams stopped pounding against the battered doors. It was silent for a few moments, but then an awful shuddering sound was heard that sounded like a shaky breath. The girl realized it was Chica making that sound.

"Pizza," it was the sound of pure, trembling pleasure. Of child-like giddiness, of obsession. "Pizza!"

The chicken exclaimed it right outside the door like it was gospel, like she was blessed with heaven and hell. The robot was making a sound similar to heavy breathing as she raced away towards the nearest kitchen. The girl let out a shaky breath of relief as Chica was successfully lured away.

Suddenly, the robot on the monitor turned around to face the chicken, and the little girl watched in horror as Chica pounced on it with crazed eyes and a wide smile. There was an awful crunching sound and then the monitor shut down.

The girl hesitantly exited the office, mortification was written all over her face at what just happened. She entered another large area that was a little ways away. It was a kitchen, in fact, the very kitchen where she made that pizza. It was quiet, save for the distant squeaking of mice and the drone of machinery.

She fearfully made her way past kitchen appliances and counters. She immediately stopped dead in her tracks as she heard a filthy crunching sound. Her eyes trailed to the sound and saw Chica unmistakably devouring and mutilating the robot that made pizza. Chica was ripping out its mechanical parts and insides and stuffing it into her mouth, making sounds of content, not caring what she's eating whether it was the robot or crumbs of the pizza.

The girl shakily tip-toed her way past the awful sight. Not daring to look that way because she thinks she might throw up. A robot eating a robot, isn't that considered cannibalism? She didn't want to think of it as she hid behind kitchenware, dodging the sights of Chica.

She made her way into an underground hallway that held multiple forklifts and boxes. A huge corridor and warehouse beneath the pizzaplex. It was like this place was never-ending and all-consuming, and she hasn't even seen half of it all.

The girl made her way into a robot-infested laundry room. She sneaked her way past the security bots by hiding into laundry baskets and behind boxes and stacks upon stacks of cloth and washers. She finally seemed to make progress through it as she found what seemed to be a way out of it all.

But a robot stood in her way, shoving a map in her face as it tried to make her take the piece of paper. She yelped in surprise as she tried to get away from it but it continued to follow her every move and pester her personal space.

"Out of my way!" A voice said aggressively as the robot was shoved to the ground. A flashlight blinded (y/n) as the girl cried out at being grabbed by the front of her shirt and dragged forward for inspection. A woman with blonde hair and bright verdant eyes scrutinized her like she was a bug on the side of a road.

The girl looked into the woman's green eyes with fear. This was the security guard that Gregory warned her about. The woman glared down at her, holding the girls 'superstar' shirt in a tight grip.

"I've finally found one of you, now it's just the other brat that I need to find," the woman said with an irritated voice. "You little pests have been causing me trouble all night, and you better explain yourselves with a damn good reason for all this ruckus!"

The woman dragged the shocked girl through the hallway, who began to protest. The woman barked at her to be quiet as she shoved the girl in an office and closed the door behind her. The blonde crossed her arms and sneered at the little girl.

"I've been hunting for you kids like a bloodhound all night now and I've about had enough," she sneered at the girl. "I've been finding destroyed property everywhere, expensive property, have you no respect for private property?"

The girl stared confused at the woman. "I don't... know what you're talking about?"

The woman's eyebrow raised. She scowled as she put her hands on her hips, "oh really? Well how about you explain this!"

The security guard turned around and took something out of a closet and then dropped it on the ground with a loud clunk! It was a security bot, mutilated beyond recognition. Its face and chest ripped open, almost everything was removed in its body. Its arms were ripped off and bent, like it struggled and then was rendered defenseless with its arms snatched off. An empty, oily carcass, who's blank eyes have seen unexplained horrors.

The girl stared at it, feeling a cold sensation squeeze her chest and gut. This wasn't the doing of Chica, this was far too calculated and meticulous. She shivered at the sight, her gut tugged with the sense of foreboding danger. But the guard just looked annoyed with her arms crossed and glaring at the little girl.

"Well? Explain yourself. I know it was one of you who did this."

"I...I don't know. It wasn't me!"

"Really? Who was it then, your buddy? And where is he, by the way?"

"I-I don't know! He... he-"

The lady rolled her eyes and scoffed. "Well whoever it is, I've been finding these destroyed robots everywhere. All are around the same the way they've been destroyed." She pinched her nose in irritation. "I don't know what the hell you kids are planning or doing, and I frankly don't care. But when the corps finds this out, guess who gets blamed and held responsible? Me! These expenses will get taken out of my paycheck!"

The girl shook her head, horrified. Not   only because of the fact that this woman thinks it was her who could do something like this, but also the fact that this robot was mutilated with a purpose, and that there was much more than this one. Can't this woman see the clear danger this could mean?  "I-It wasn't me! I swear!"

The woman huffed out loudly. "If it wasn't you, then it's him, tell me where the other one is, right now."

"I already told you, I-I don't know! I don't know! He left, I-I don't know where he went!"

Was it Gregory who did this? It just seems impossible to even think that. Gregory is stronger than her, but strong enough to take down a robot twice his size? She and him are still kids! How could this woman even come up with the conclusion that it was them? There was obviously someone else in the building destroying these robots. The girl shivered, there was somebody dangerous in this building with her and Gregory, and this woman is pinning the blame on them?

The woman glared at her with those green eyes before letting out a sarcastic laugh. "Since you're so clueless, you're staying in here until I find your property-destroying buddy! I'm going to bring this up with both of your parents too! Maybe that will get you to learn some shame."

The woman turned around and made her way to the door. She was leaving as she said: "Hope you like dark places!" And flicked the light switch and slammed the door behind her. The lights turned off with a click as the girl desperately called out for the woman to come back and pounded at the metal door. She didn't want to be alone in this room in the dark, she needed to find Freddy!

The girl frantically tried to look for a way out, but she couldn't see in the thick darkness. She pressed against the door but it didn't open. She couldn't reach the light switch that was high up. She searched the room for a platform that she could step on to actually reach the switch, but the monitors turned on with a bright flash in the dark room.

A silhouette shown on the screen with glowing red eyes. A silhouette with rabbit ears. The little girl stared, befuddled and shocked at what she was seeing. Another animatronic? A voice scratched through the speakers shakily, it sounded scratchy and rough.

"Hello there..."

The little girl stared into those crimson eyes with fear. A sense of dread crawled up her spine and set in her stomach like a giant pit. A dread that was not unlike the type those golden eyes in her deepest dreams would place in her. A dread that spoke of danger, of the calm before the storm. The strange silhouette chuckled darkly at the girl's nervous expression.
