24 : Perfection
He was different once upon a time, Moon concluded. It must have been the separate AI systems lodged into him. It must have been the strict security system placed meticulously in the scattered mess that he was on the inside.
But he knew that he wasn't supposed to be like this. To Sun, it was just a glitch, a malfunction that he could avoid, he desperately tried to avoid. To him, a placed virus. Whatever was messing with him had changed him, but he never detested it. He never actively fought it like Sun did. He's never had problems with his security protocol systems before, it was until strange things started to happen to the place when everything started to fall apart. But he guessed that it was always like this, there was always darkness that stayed out of sight. But it slowly grew, day by day. Anger was restless, and not all secrets are worth knowing.
Though he was crumbling away, Sun was still somewhat the same. They were separated beings with different purposes, but who shared the same body. Their AI was not connected, but Moon would sometimes imagine the nagging voice of Sun in his head. When the lights shut off white-gold plating shifts into silver and blue. The happiness, the brightness of innocence turned into a starless night sky of fear and terror. They were scared of him. That was Moon, a lightless creature.
Maybe that's why he tried so desperately to prove it wrong. To show everyone he's just as good as Sun, better, even. But he knew he was the mess that was on the other side of obsessive cleanliness. The other side of the coin. Maybe that was the thing that was common between them, they both tried to cover up destruction behind endless walls of security, the fragile makeup of perfection. It was pathetic. But it was what he needed.
He needed more of it.
He needed to apply it to himself. He needed to pretend that he was functioning. If not, he would be sent to Parts and Service, and the more they chip and dig through his servos the more obsessed he becomes with perfection. Eventually, they would replace him. He could never be replaced. He needed to be a star brighter than the sun. The moon only shines because the sun's lasting rays reflect off of it, he couldn't have that. He could never have that.
Maybe it was his obsession with being more, or he really was the broken, fractured part of the Sun. But what became a cat and mouse chase became a violent grudge, and that grudge turned into cold wrath. Vengeance was what he thirsted for, and oh, it was the sweetest of bloods.
He sometimes finds his fingers scraping around the rim of his empty eye socket. If they found him like this, they would destroy him. There was no replacing his eye, there were no lasting parts for him. He would be the one who would be replaced by some low-price animatronic.
He'll have her shiny, little eyes for what she did to him. She took away a part of him, so he'll take away a part of her. It's only fair, right?
Moon's long fingers clasped around her throat, her shiny eyes were horrified. It wasn't tight enough to break her fragile neck, but it put pressure on her airway. Her breath caught fearfully and raspily in her throat as she was lifted meters off the ground. She was in her hiding place just moments ago, the lid that protected her from view was ripped off and revealed her to the crimson, glowing eye of Moon. She thought he was gone.
Her legs swayed frantically back and forth as she was lifted up to the animatronic's beastly face. His grip on her neck tightened, making her gasp weakly. Her small fingers clawed against his arm, not even scraping him. His smile was wide and furious, like a rabid hyena. His red eye narrowed into hers and she felt like a worm caught in between a bird's talons, being eyed like a particular delicious specimen.
She got a detailed look at the gaping hole that was his right socket. Memories of cracked plastic and furious wails swam in her mind. Oil streaked down his rotating face, making him look demonic and ghostly. His eye was a piercing red moon in an inky black ocean, glowing with fury, desperation, envy, and sadistic amusement.
The peril in them was indescribable as they pierced through the girls lungs. Her breathing stopped as she stared, blood frozen, in the center of his gaze. She couldn't even see her reflection in the lightless pinprick of crimson. The smell of oil reeked like blood, his cogs and wired tapped like a clock. This was no tale of predator and prey, this was vengeance.
"Aw, look at you." Moon' voice was soft velvet with barbed wires lodged in it. He spoke in a condescending tone that made her skin prickle. It was uncannily similar to Gregory's mocking tone of voice. "Writhing around like a little worm. You are sure tricky to catch, but I'm done playing games, now."
His voice lowered octaves as his lithe, metal fingers squeezed her neck roughly. She choked out a gasp as she tried to pry him off. He didn't budge an inch as he smiled gruesomely up at her. "It's only fair that you serve your punishment, correct?"
Her vision was getting blurry the more he squeezed. Tears leaked through her eyelashes as they dripped hotly down her cheeks. Moon chuckled darkly and hungrily. The anaconda caught the mouse, it's only a matter of time before he swallows her whole.
CRASH!
Moon paused his antics, his laughter died off. His fingers twitched in their sockets against her neck. A low growling that sounded more like the bass of a car reverberated around the room, it shook the very floor and walls. It wasn't coming from Moon, no, it was coming from the menacing, glowing eyes of a shadowy figure that narrowed upon them in front of the eerie blue light of the power station. Its door was smashed open.
It was papa bear.
The cyan highlighted his synthetic fur and plastic from behind, but the front of him was shrouded in absolute darkness. Except his yellow eyes of smoldering fire. Deja vu scratched at the girls mind as she stared, shocked, at the looming shadow of Freddy. His claws were curled into tight first, his harmless spike bracelets shined menacingly in the light. Freddy looked murderous.
Moon's grip lessened in intensity. (Y/n) was finally able to breathe tightly against his sharp, ivory fingertips. She thought the animatronic was shaking because he was scared, but he was actually laughing silently. Hysterically, even. Goosebumps bit at her arms as she heard his silent giggles. Her eyes flicked nervously at Freddy, the low growling sound vibrated through his chest, it was distorted and demonic. This wasn't like Freddy, he wasn't himself at all.
"Oh my! Wouldn't you look at this," Moon groveled. His fingers abruptly let go of the girl. She yelped, surprised, as she fell harshly to the floor, onto her side. Flaring pain shot up her arm and jaw from the cold tile. She landed in front of Moon's shoes, shocked and terrified as she her tears dripped onto the tile. Her throat was already bruised and aching. Moon's eye flicked from Freddy to her, his form loomed over her. "Isn't this such a curious phenomenon? Why are you pests so affectionate of one naughty, little mouse?"
She laid there, rigidly, in front of Moon. But he wasn't paying her any mind, at the moment, his wrathful eye was set on Freddy. He suddenly stepped over the girl, towering in front of her vulnerable form as he smiled sharply at the animatronic bear. Freddy's growls became rigid and louder as he watched the rough treatment she just went through. He bared his sharp teeth at Moon, they shown like a shark's against the light.
Freddy took cautious steps forward, his fingers twitching, and Moon did the same. They circled each other, but Moon made sure the girl stayed at an arms distance from him, just in case she tried to escape. But she didn't dare move. Freddy's optics flashed dangerously in the dark, if looks could kill, Moon would incinerate on the spot. She realized that this hellish look was almost like Gregory's. But this one was one of fierce protectiveness. The boys was almost similar but drastically different. And both made her nerves freeze in place although they were not directed towards her.
She sat up slowly, Moon's eye flickered coldly at her, a silent command to not move an inch. Freddy's optics were fixated on Moon, furious and sharp. Two seething and twitching animatronics, both waiting for the other to move first. The tension was palpable as it pressed bitterly against her bruising throat. The girl didn't dare move or speak.
"Who would've thought that the star of the show could be such a rabid animal," Moon chuckled darkly and mockingly as flexed his fingers, cautiously glaring at Freddy who was otherwise deathly silent. "People would see you differently if they saw what you really are, you know. It would be such a brilliant show!"
"...Perhaps you are right," Freddy's finally spoke, his voice was threateningly calm and collected. Like he was having a conversation about the weather. But his throat quietly hissed beneath his words. His claws scraped against his palms as his fangs glinted menacingly in the light. The girl thought he was gritting his teeth in frustration, but it was actually a pleasant, beastly grin that pulled at his face
"But seeing you snapped in half would be quite a show, too."
