15 : Shame On You
Gregory, instead of backing away in fear, took that as a challenge. His eyes narrowed at the metallic beast before him, who was crouched into a threatening pose.
Moon's voice box reduced into a low growl like a rabid animal as he twitched with fury. His multiple cogs and wires shifted and snapped loudly. If there was one thing that the animatronic hated more than anything, it was annoying brats like Gregory.
Stupid? He is not a stupid robot. He is the most advanced AI system to date! He is irreplaceable. He is astounding in modern history. The most expensive animatronic in the building with complex parts and wires. He is not obsolete. He is not damaged. Nothing is wrong. Nothing will ever be wrong. If something is wrong they will decommission him- they will destroy...
The robot's optics flashed blue. Moon protects children, keeps them safe and sound. He sings songs to them and helps them sleep. Gregory is just a child. He's just a child. Just a child, nothing more. But how come he doesn't see him as one?
Protect children. Code. Nap time. Code. Lights off. Code. Little girl. Code. Li-little boy-y. Code. Overwrite. Stop. Threat. Stop it. Attack mode activated. Listen to me. Threat engaged. STOP. Terminate threat. STOP IT. Kill him.
The robot screeched as he grasped the sides of his head as millions of lines of code broke and rearranged itself over and over again. The heavy wire attached to his back sparked with electricity. His eye flashed viciously. The terrible scene looked gruesome with the wide smile still present on his face.
With a roar of static, the beast launched itself upon Gregory, who didn't even have time to process what was happening. There was a look of surprise present on his face at the sudden violent outburst, though it was he who was watching with a dark curiosity so silently before.
Long, spindly fingers grasped the boy tightly by the shoulders as Moon shoved him roughly to the padded ground. The two skidded on the floor before halting to a stop. The animatronics grasp was incredibly tense but the boy didn't even flinch.
The animatronic snapped his head up with a whirr, his eye that was a wrathful red was sporadically switching to a wild, dark purple. It glowed ominously over the boy, making his brilliant golden eyes shine.
Gregory tried to slip from underneath the machine, kicking his legs and trying to push the animatronic off of him, but the robot shoved its knee on the boy's chest.
The animatronic was much too heavy to move. The soft fabric of the robot's star-print pants brushed against the boy's arms and hands, a far cry from the crushing feeling on the boys chest. Moon lifted his claw-like fingers from his shoulders, metallic fingers scraping against his neck. This was a position of no escape and Gregory immediately recognized that with wide eyes.
The robot just chuckled maniacally as it lifted its hand in the air, slowly and tauntingly. This was a killing blow, aimed directly at the boy's chest. The singular optic flickered from red, to blue, to purple. It's whole body seemed to twitch and compulse with excitement. Gregory no longer saw a programmed daycare attendant, but a machine built for murder.
When the claw came down, Gregory's hand reached out to his side and his fingers brushed against flexible plastic that shocked his fingers. The animatronic took no notice of this, it was too hungry for the kill. Gregory reacted last-second.
There was a long, heavy cord trailing behind the robot, which Gregory had previously damaged. Gregory gripped the sizzling, rubber wire, and with a cry of fury, he shoved it into the ivory robot's vulnerable eye socket.
The animatronics fingers stabbed through the boy's shoulder, narrowly missing where his heart would be. The wound tore opened, leaking a strange red substance. Gregory yelped at the fizzling and searing feeling traveling up his arm.
The robot screeched a scream so clear it sounded human in a terrific way. It was shocked with electricity, making it quake violently, shocking the poor boy beneath it. Its voicebox glitched to static. It's hands groped the electrical wire embedded into its eye but it was effectively lodged into it.
The static buzz traveled to Gregory's arm, making him grit his teeth at the fiery feeling digging into his entire body. His eyes glowed, flashing with pain and fury. The robot continued to struggle, screeching and kicking until it abruptly slumped over in a sitting position, dead still. It didn't fall onto the boy, the wire still sizzled noisily in its optic.
Its eye socket leaked a sticky and dark liquid, ominously similar to blood. It dribbled onto Gregory's face, still warm. Smoke sizzled out of the machine, and the rapid clicking sound stopped. The robot looked like it was at a strange and silent peace, its eye that glowed so viciously before was now empty and dull.
Gregory, with a mighty grunt, hauled the kneeling robot off of him. It stumbled and crashed limply onto the floor with a hollow smile. Gregory panted as he fell back down onto his back, his pulse pumping with adrenaline. He laid there until he remembered the fearful eyes of a little girl.
The boy shot up from his position, his shoulder spiked with pain, oozing the bright red substance, but he stood up rapidly, ignoring it. His eyes searched in the dark for her but she was no longer on the plastic bridge from where she was attacked.
He leapt onto the play structure and climbed it at a fast pace , like he did before to stop the animatronic from hurting his (y/n). He thought of the poor thing, on the bridge, and her scream of terror that ringed ever so clearly in his ears.
His distraction plan only worked shortly. Moon caught sight of him and chased him down for a moments time, but then, the animatronic suddenly turned around and pursued for the girl instead, in the middle of the chase, leaving Gregory confused... and terrified.
He made it up the play place and entered the interior, alert for any tell-tale sign of her. He suddenly heard the sound of quiet sobbing. His feet stumbled against a long black wire as he followed the noise at a fast pace. He was following a generator cord.
Finally, he found her. Next to a generator that hummed with life and glowed with a comforting green light, was a crouched figure, crying into her arms. Gregory's glowing gold eyes softened. She found the fourth generator despite how petrified she looked before, despite being wounded and afraid.
He knelt before the young girl, soothingly rubbing her shoulder. Her sobbing cut into a sharp gasp of surprise. His eyes trailed to her ankle, which was an angry red color, the boy's golden hues flared with anger at the sight.
(Y/n)'s puffy and teary eyes met his, and she let out a loud sob before jumping into his arms. She trembled with fear as Gregory slowly rubbed his hand against her back and hair soothingly. He didn't speak a word, because his furious yet soft eyes told everything, glowing wrathfully behind her shoulder.
After a couple minutes later, he finally spoke,"C'mon, there is one more generator left, then we can finally leave," he hated to interrupt this precious moment, but they needed to get away from here, and fast.
He was sure Moon was decommissioned, damaged beyond repair, but he didn't know how long until Vanessa will find them. How long they would be safe here.
The girl nodded and slowly got to her feet, she winced at the pain in her ankle. Gregory attempted to smile encouragingly at her, but the look on his face showed he hated seeing her like this.
The two slowly walked through the thick darkness that now held nightmares and fear. Gregory made sure she was always in his line of sight as he trailed closely behind her, gripping her fingers in his, gently.
They were now on the ground floor, a black cord was nearby. Hope shone through the little girl's eyes. They can leave. They can finally leave. She almost fell to her knees with relief.
But a terrible squeaking sound vibrated throughout the room. The sound of metal on metal, and without a second to react, something dashed onto Gregory with a furious and maniacal screech
Gregory was thrown onto the floor with a loud crash. The little girl screamed as the boy was shoved beneath the large animatronic once more with a yelp of surprise. A wild violet eye stared into the boy with such wrath that Gregory flinched rapidly at the sight.
The robot's other eye socket was leaking with a black liquid, making it look demonic and sinister. Its smile seemed sharper than before as it chuckled static. Moon pinned Gregory down with ease, its fingers digging deep into the boy's open wound, staining the white digits a bright red. Gregory gritted his teeth at the hot pain resurfacing in his arm.
"You thought I was dead, huh?" The robot spoke, but its voice sounded different, like someone was speaking through the animatronic. The robot cackled, the pressure on Gregory grew tighter, "did you think you can get rid of me just like that?"
"I am the most advanced machine in this entire building! I am immaculate!" The robot's voice glitched, the ticking sound was deafening. "I am more than you could ever be!"
Gregory glared back at the machine's wild, purple eye with fiery gold. His hands tightly grasped Moon's metallic arms with a great force that dented the metal beneath the boy's fingers but the animatronic just chuckled statically at him.
"You thought I could die, but I always come back."
