12 : Blood Moon

It was dark. Absurdly so, the once lively play structures ahead of them could barely be seen within the utter darkness that seemed to consume everything. The pizzaplex itself never got this dark, there was once and a while a light on. Whether it was vibrant, neon plasters or a bulb that flicked on at night.

The lively music was completely dead silent. The air was damp and cool, but even so, the girl felt her throat tighten like someone was grasping her roughly there. It was fear, fear was warning her that something monstrous was there.

There was a clicking sound in the air, it echoed throughout the daycare. It was not the sound of a clock, no, it was the creature before them with bright, red eyes making that sound. With a grand leap, it was on top of the counter before them.

The children got a good look at it then, in the dim blue light from behind them. It was tall, and thin. It towered over them like they were little toy figurines. Its spindly fingers looked like claws. A grotesque smile was spread across its face like someone with a blade cut it there.

The tapping sound was coming from its innards that were hidden behind a metal plating. But that was not the only sound it made, sinister giggles crackled out of its voicebox like a child burning ants underneath the light of a magnifying glass. Like a monster ready to feast on fresh kill. The small chuckles were jagged, rough and sometimes glitched like an old radio, sporadically made by the robot.

His attire was similar to his sun counterpart. He had that jester-like appearance. His baggy pants had shining star-prints on them which glowed faintly in the dark, unlike the warm stripes Sun had. He was cooler colors of blues, purples and silvers, the personification of the night sky.

There was an innocent nightcap upon his head, seemingly attached there. It would've been a funny sight if it wasn't for those glowing, crimson eyes burning into their souls.

The robot leaned in closely to them. The red ribbons that still seemed to be on his wrist jingled like laughter. The terrifying ticking and clicking sound became louder, like a ticking time-bomb. He did not step off the counter, fortunately, but he still seemed to be right in front of them.

The children got a good look at his half-moon themed face, and impossibly wide smile. They could see that his red eyes also held white pupils. (Y/n) immediately recognized him from the large, golden statue at the entrance of the daycare.

The children slowly backed away from the animatronic. Gregory's gold eyes shined in the sadistic red optics. The little girl couldn't help but look at anything but the robot before them. The moon-themed jester was giggling like a maniac.

"Naughty, naughty children..." he cackled out as he leaned back. He stepped on the counter slowly with his elfish shoes, imitating a circling, hungry vulture as he took long strides on the faux marble. But the robot's eyes never looked at anything but them. "Why must you be up at this hour? There's no reason why. No, no reason at all..."

It sounded as if he was thinking, contemplating something, as he eyed them like a hawk with mice. Suddenly, his long arm lifted up and his talons curled around a long, metal rope that seemed to be magnetically attracted to him as it snaked down from the ceiling towards the animatronic.

If there was any way for this robot's grin to get wider, it would be physically impossible, and it would rip through more than a half of his face. He chuckled darkly and statically. His deep and scratchy voice lowered octaves as he leaned back.

"Oh, I know how to fix this...disobedience," he slowly lifted off the ground, the wire attached to his back pulled him up. The clicking sound got even louder. "I'll have to put you to sleep!"

Gregory immediately snapped out of his stupor. The children were watching the animatronic before with a paralyzing fear coursing through them.

The girl thought of all the horror movies the older kids would talk about with hushed voices and smiles, eager to scare their younger classmates. But this was nothing like their campfire stories.

This was real.

Gregory grasped the girl by the arm that she swore she felt her skin burn at the cold touch, and with astonishing strength, he threw (y/n) harshly across the floor. She skidded on the tiled floor before ending up a few meters away from the desk. There was a stinging sensation on her elbows. Rub-burn.

For a moment she felt the sharp graze of metallic fingers touch her back before she slid away. When Moon lifted into the air, he swooped down like a bird-of-prey, reaching out mainly for the little girl with a wild look in his glowing, red eyes.

Gregory pushed her away, not because he wanted to hurt her, but because he was trying to protect her. When he did it, he leaped the opposite way, barely dodging the reaching hands of the crazed animatronic.

The girl's eyes were wide, filled with confusion, fear and pain. But when she realized what had happened, the Moon animatronic already lifted up from the back of the counter, still glitching and cackling like a malfunctioning kids toy.

He flew off into the air again with a fluid speed. His large and gangly figure disappeared, his laughter echoing in the never ending darkness but his red eyes still could be seen, like little, red spotlights.

"Hide-y, hide... hide away~"

The children scattered, Gregory went one way, and (y/n), the other. They didn't have time to even glance at each other. The girl ran until she saw the silhouette of a large play structure in front of her. (Y/n) dove into it, her adrenaline was high and her eyes wet and misty with primal fear.

She couldn't hear the animatronic anymore. Just the terrible clicking sound in the distance, but she isn't sure where it was. Her thoughts strayed to dark stories and tales told on Halloween.

She had never been in a haunted house before, but she was one hundred percent sure that this was nothing, nothing like this.

She stayed where she was, she didn't move an inch. What if the jester had good hearing? What happens when he catches her? What punishment is he going to do if he does find her? He's definitely not going to give her a spanking, he is going to eat her!

Her panicked thoughts ceased when she felt something along her fingers. It was thick and made of a rubbery material, she felt the vibration of electricity inside of it. Somewhere near, she heard the quiet sound of thrumming, the type of sound you'd hear from a refrigerator.

She remembered those wires she saw on the ground of the daycare, the long, black ones. They are in the play places too? Though it seemed odd to her, she thought of how wires always lead to something, it goes to machinery.

In the far distance, she heard something click on. She then realized that in front of her was a large wall made out of tight ropes of metal. It was like a window. The reason why she could see this was because far into the daycare she saw a light turn on, facing her direction. It was dim and like a spotlight.

Gregory!

The girl felt immense relief that she cried hot, joyous tears. Gregory is somewhere over there! Do these wires lead to a light? (Y/n) would love some light. She hates the dark, it reminds her of the creepy closet in her room.

The type with the creaky door that holds nightmarish monsters. The type that makes you hide beneath your blankets, only able to listen to the noises of the night with fear of hearing footsteps.

But little did she know that the clicking sound stopped, and that the monster could see her too.

Sudden, and loud like a lightning bolt, fingers protruded from the dark and latched onto the metal wiring before her. It shook and creaked beneath the animatronics weight and strength as he pulled himself up. Red, glowing eyes and a wide smile were right in front of her.

Manic giggles left the robot as the metal wiring leaned forward with a groan as he climbed up and then paused in front of (y/n.) She was paralyzed there, completely in the animatronics shadow as he covered the dim light.

"Little, little girl~ are you scared of me?" The robot questioned as his face spinned and his body clicked and snapped. His fingers tightened around metal wiring as he leaned in. The red spotlight of his eyes spilled into her teary ones.

"N-no..!" It came out weak and shaky, she didn't want the jester to know she was scared or else he would enjoy devouring her. But she thinks he already can taste her fear. The robot twitched, his crimson optics filled with sadism that it looked like it was from a living, beastly thing.

"You should be," his voice became deeper as he cackled like a hyena. With excruciating force, the robot leaned back and literally body slammed the cage-like wires, all the while he laughed and garbled out glitchy sentences of horrible meaning.

"I will tear apart your soft, pretty flesh, little girl!" The robot screeched. She scrambled away as she heard the sound of the metal wiring give way to his repetitive attacks and the awful words the jester was cackling out loudly. "Nothing can ever hide from me, what makes you think you can?"

Where's Gregory! The girl cried out for help but the boy was nowhere to be seen. She didn't hear Moon slamming into the play-structure anymore, instead she saw the red optics of the animatronic following her, he was climbing the side of the play place like a giant spider.

When his gangly limbs found a space big enough to reach into, his large talon-like fingers would protrude from the wall and reach for the girl. The robot was laughing and speaking sickeningly sweet words to coax (y/n) to him.

"Don't be shy! Come here and give me a hug!"

(Y/n) tripped over the wire and fell to the plastic ground. She was in an open space but as well as a dead-end. There was a large board of a grinning Roxy in front of her, the cardboard seemed to be smiling at her doom.

The robot saw the position the girl was in, and took advantage of this. But he was slow and taunting as he ducked his head in, his fingers caressing the plastic ledge of the play place. The girl backed away from him, but the space was small and she was still in arms reach.

"Aww, look at you... are you lost, little girl?~" The robot crooned as he reached forward slowly, enjoying the look of fear and hopeless tears flowing on her face.

She sobbed and cowered away, shutting her eyes tightly as red spotlighted her and metallic fingers twitching closer and closer, ready to grab her and tear her apart.

But there was a certain someone the animatronic forgot in his fear-drinking haze.

That certain someone was on top of the play structure, watching fearfully as a metal cord came closer to him, the cord that was suspending the robot in the air. (Y/n,) (y/n,) (y/n,) (y/n!)

His thoughts went to her and her cute smile, laugh, and her attempts at reassuring and comforting him. She is scared! She is in danger! He must save her! Alarms were going off in his head.

The wire came closer, Moon must be closer to touching her, now. But Gregory won't ever let him. Freddy is not here to save them, so Gregory will do it himself!

He gripped onto the cable and pulled it into his mouth. The boy bit down, and he bit it hard. He felt the flexible plastic and metal coating break to the strength of his jaw, like bones. His teeth found the sensitive wiring inside and tore through it like veins.

The powerful thrum of electricity flowed through him violently. Making his fingers twitch and his golden eyes shine brightly. His hair sparked with static and his whole body pulsed and crackled. But he felt no pain whatsoever. He didn't care, he only wanted (y/n.)

The cord snapped and he heard the satisfying, glitchy screech of the animatronic beneath him. A dangerous smirk pulled on his lips and his eyes glowed brightly.
