Life After Lockdown (ENG)

Introduction:

Wattpad is having collaboration with HONOR and with this opportunity, I'm honoured to be asked to share a story about my life during a lockdown and what I'm looking for after it.

HONOR kindly provided me and other writers with their new HONOR 10X Lite smartphone to try if it's really the perfect phone to stay creative and inspired. And it is! With its long-lasting battery and large display, I can spend hours writing and reading just with my phone. I can save more than twelve thousand books in its storage and use their e-book mode to enjoy a near paper like experience. I can write anything, anytime and don't need to be scared I'll forget my idea before I get to my computer.

I hope you enjoy my story!

On the first of January, when I was watching fireworks with a drink in my hand and thought about what the new year and new decade will bring us, I definitely didn't expect this.

Walking in the streets of the city to look like scenes from post-apocalyptic movies. There are quiet, not many people outside and when they're, they bypass you with distance and fear in the eyes.

Talking with people via computer which is too old to work more than a few hours and now is supposed to work a whole day. I'm not sure who's more tired at this moment. Me, or the computer.

Wearing masks all the time. Which surprisingly didn't border me anymore and in the upcoming winter I think it would save my face not only from the cold. At least I don't need to buy a new scarf.

I, like most people, was trying, in the beginning, to not think about all of this. I tried to close the door of my room, put on some loud music, and tried to forget what's going on around the world. It didn't help for long. It was a question of time before I left my room, turned off the music, and started processing what is happening. When I did that, I learned and experienced so many new things.

I never expected to give a presentation in pyjamas in front of other people. I would even say it was my nightmare. Nightmare, where you stand in front of a full auditorium naked, or in my situation, in your favourite comfy blue pyjamas with small rabbits on it. But now I can't remember the presentation without them. You only need to put on a sweatshirt and you look like a proper student who's presenting from the bed. It's a really interesting life hack.

Also, I found how glad I'm for my family and friends. Even when I'm talking to most of them online, they're here. If I, or any of them, need to talk we always have time to brighten each other's day and talk for hours. Nothing is stopping us from our conversations about books, movies, and funny stories from our life in quarantine.

Even when my days are basically the same. Waking up, doing a few steps, sitting in the chair, watching stuff on my computer screen, and going back to bed. I'm trying to get the most out of it. I'm finally having time to watch movies from my never-ending list of recommendations. I'm baking and cooking food in something else than a microwave. I'm writing and doing lots of other stuff on which I didn't have time before. But there are still things I'm very looking for and can't wait when this lockdown is done.

When the borders open and it will be safe to travel. I can imagine how I would be on the first plane to meet my friends which I couldn't see this summer. I miss the feeling when you get lost in a different country and discover streets which normal tourists wouldn't visit.

I can't wait to walk through the city with my friends. Just chatting or sitting in the cafe with other people around without fear or any restriction. I can't wait to get to the situation when I'm ready to go to bed, tired from the whole day, and my friends text me to meet them outside for some beer. I wouldn't even try to come up with an excuse for not to come. I would be on the first bus to the centre with a smile on my face.

I'm looking for all of this and much more. I can't wait for my life after lockdown.

Thank you again, Wattpad and HONOR for this opportunity!
