"Shushhh!!"

He pulls me onto him and muffles my fright.

"Don't please, let her sleep."

I stop when I realized his grip held no harm.

I am so never going to forget that.

I relaxed just a tad, remembering to breathe again, but these gut feelings gave me the notion this wasn't yet to be my last surprise.

But my heart was still racing, I
sat rigidly on his lap not daring to break the silence.

He puts a finger to my mouth in the act of comfort. Tracing the shape of it.
He turns me until my legs rest easily
across the space of the two front seat. My back to the door.

We said nothing as he drove one hand in the wheel the other caressing my arm. I took that moment to admire his perfections.

The sturdy profile

Regalilty of posture

His Curling hair

He noted my visual appraisal and stared at me too. I should of felt embarrassed or compelled to look away. But the currents of his gaze had too strong of a tide,

And he closes the space between us.

Ammon resurrected every dead nerve end that Coreiss failed to awaken and Joe left to decay. Slowly, he set my body alive, an insignificant blaze being fanned into a bonfire by a sudden wind.

My tongue mimicked a lost fish in his mouth, and him soothing the little animal with commanding strokes.

I heard a whimper escape me.

My eyes butterflied shut minutes ago. But I had stong urge to view the road. I needed to see.

I raise my lids to feel his lashes brush against mine. This shound not be. I try to gasp but I could not free my lips as though some abstract force restricted my movements.

His eyes snapped open as we divided enabling me free to gape ahead.

Absolutely, Nothing.

Not a flare of headlights or the rev of an engine, was there to be perceived in the distance.

I turn on Rick profoundly Disturbed.

Everyone seems to forget how I lost my parents. They didn't die of old age like they should, or hit their 6o's together or get to see me accept my degree.

Some inconsiderate idiot took a lifetime of experiences from them.

Since the incident it took me two years to get inside of a motor vehicle.

So excuse me if I have a thing for reckless driving.

"What is it with you people tonight and not paying attention to the road!
Are you so eager to die?"

"I can't be killed, and even If I could
Who said I'm even Alive."

This shit is too fucking weird

My breathing is hard and agitated.
And his words wasn't helping.

I stare at the road a bit pissed not wanting to acknowledge the glances Rick was giving me still.

He said nothing, waiting for me to talk. From the corner of my eyes I see
his creased forehead smoothen out with recollection. So I thought.

"Im sorry, I know since your parents,  you've been... I just shouldn't take chances like that."

Damn right you shouldn't!

Flashes of the sea caught my eye through the trees.

The van slows to a cruise. Rick stared at the road a long time before a lopsided grin covers his face. I knew better than to take that lightly.

We slowed to a stop before a stretch of sea.

"Close your eyes."

Now of all the things he could have said. It always turns me own to have a man whose convinced he's a vampire ask me to close my eyes on a deserted highway with a half conscious woman on the back seat.

I must have said that with my face.

"You aren't seriously thinking I'd traffic you or something?"

" Well at this point,"

He rolled his eyes.

"Come on, don't you trust me?"

He had me there. Regardless of his new found crazy ideals I have never once felt I was in danger around him. I can't swear that he has ever put me in harms was.

"Close your eyes."

I sighed.
What did I have to lose now? At least Joe got a look at Coreiss if necessary.

I lock an arm around his neck for support as he cradled me in his embrace.

That was the last safe thing I recall. The cozy interior of the Van. I'd have never believed my health could diminsh so rapidly.

He put me down. "Okay, Open up."

I did. And I saw I was standing on the flame of the torch The Statue of Liberty held.

He Grinned, "Two."
