Zuko Isn't That Bad
Aang was running through the forest with a group of Fire Nation soldiers after him. How did this happen you ask? Let's just have a flashback on how this happened.
Flashback
Aang couldn't sleep, it was midnight and all his other friends (Toph, Katara, and Sokka) were asleep but he couldn't. There was too much going on in his mind right now, from being trapped in the ice, to being chased by Azula and her friends everywhere. It was crazy.
But he was pondering on this one thought, where was Zuko, and Akita as well? Aang didn't know why, but he was worried for them. What if they got captured by Azula? Were they killed?
Aang was astonished that he was worried about them. They, well, Zuko tried to capture him! Although, Akita wasn't so bad, she was usually trying to keep Zuko from killing somebody and actually freed him that one time.
Aang sighed and got sat up from his bag and stretched. He looked at Appa and Momo who were out like a light. He then glanced at Katara who was sleeping peacefully, there was Sokka who was snoring as loud as fuck, and there was Toph who was also asleep.
Aang decided that it wasn't the best idea to sneak off in foot, considering that Toph can literally sENSE VIBRATIONS IN THE GROUND!
He glanced at his glider that was next to him and had an idea.
Aang grabbed his glider and got ready to take off. With a few light steps and a jump, he was in the air.
The cool breeze blew against his face, it was cold, but Aang didn't care. He looked at the moon, it even though it looked small from afar, it was pretty freaking large when you got closer. The stars illuminated that night sky, some glowing dimly than others.
He was so focused in his surroundings, that he didn't even notice what was going to happen next.
A blast of fire shot up towards Aang and at the last second, narrowly dodged it. His grey eyes darted around for whoever shot it at him before four more blasts of fire came at him. Aang almost got hit, but his glider got scorched instead.
"Ahhh!" He yelled as he plummeted to the ground like a rock. His body connected to the soil, and immense pain surged through his body. He whimpered slightly at the pain. Another blast of scorching flames came at him, the heat licking his back.
Aang stood up despite the pain, grabbed his staff, and ran. He used Airbending to throw them off but they kept coming. There was no water around him at the moment so he thought about using Earthbending instead. But he wasn't very good at it so the least he can do is to continue trying to throw them off his trail with Airbending.
Aang was getting tired, he didn't know where he was going and most likely he would collapse and they would capture him. He didn't know, so the very thing he could do is keep running.
Flashback ends...
So yeah, that's why he is currently running through the forest with plumes of flames attacking him every twenty seconds.
"How do you guys have so much stamina?!" He wheezed. Aang looked back at the soldiers that were chasing him, they were gaining on him, and that wasn't good. Aang would have outran them if he wasn't so tired.
He looked forward ahead and slammed into a stone wall. He yelped in pain and held his head, wincing softly when he felt the wound. He removed his left hand from his head and noticed something red on them, blood. Crap, I'm bleeding, and why the hell did I smack into the bottom of a cliff? Aang wondered.
Aang heard multiple footsteps approaching and he prepared to fight them back before he suddenly felt pain in his right arm. To say the sight for terrible is a understatement, it was a literal nightmare. The arm was covered in fresh blood and many scratches, he could also see that his arm wasn't in the right position, possibly when he fell from the sky.
"I found him, let's grab him and take him to Azula." One of them said when they finally approached him. Aang couldn't think right, it was like his entire brain just shut down, and he wasn't able to do anything. All he could do is watch as they approached him, grim smirks on their faces.
Suddenly, a blast of fire was shot at the soldiers and they jumped back. "What the-" Another started before he was knocked out. Aang watched with drooping eyes as a mysterious (yet somewhat familiar) man came out and quickly made work of the remaining guards. It was really a sight to see, a firebender was taking out those guards without any backup.
Once they were all knocked out, the figure made his way towards Aang. Aang finally got a good look at him and his eyes widened when he realized who it was. "Z-...Zuko?" He hoarsely whispered. Zuko remained silent and picked him up bridal style. Aang flushed a bright red. "H-hey! Put me-!" Zuko slapped a hand over Aang's mouth. "Shh! Don't be too loud! They will spot us! Keep quiet." He whispered.
Aang shut his mouth. Zuko looked around to see if there was anybody left and whisper-shouted. "Akita! Take us out of here!" A rustle was heard and girl who seemed to be seventeen years old came out of the darkness. She had grey horns, wings, and a tail, her eyes were a deep forest green, she had light brown skin, dark brown hair, and rather pointy ears.
"Zuko? What the hell? This is what you- never mind, let's get out of here." She whispered back and beckoned them to follow her. The banished prince followed her silently with a tired Avatar in his arms.
The girl led them away from the area, stopping them occasionally and making them hide whenever there was something approaching. Akita continued leading them before she stopped and nodded towards Zuko. Zuko took the sign and continued walking through a large bramble of bushes and vines and made his way into a cave. The cave wasn't small, but it wasn't big either. It was enough to fit at least four people in there. It had two moss beds and there was a pile of wood in the middle, it looked charred, as if somebody was using it recently.
Zuko laid Aang on the moss and grabbed some sort of bucket. Aang didn't really notice, he was slowly drifting off when he felt something on his injured arm that made him hiss. "A-Ah!" He hissed when Zuko put a wet cloth around his arm and was currently wiping away the blood that was in his forehead carefully. Akita entered the cave silently and curled up on her bed then started to doze off.
Aang felt himself being lifted into Zuko's lap and blushed slightly but Zuko didn't notice. He carefully grabbed his dislocated arm. "Ok... this is going to hurt, so try not to make any noise please?" Aang nodded and braced himself.
With one forceful shove, Zuko forced his arm back into place, making Aang whimper at the pain. Zuko then laid him back down onto the moss. Aang let out a sigh of relief and closed his eyes and drifted into a deep sleep.

Aang woke up slowly, trying not to give himself dizziness by getting up too quick. He looked around and realized he wasn't at the camp. He looked to his left and saw a empty moss bed, he looked to his right and nearly had a heart attack. There he was in all of his infamous glory, Zuko, sleeping against the wall.
Aang staggered upwards and tried to walk out of the cave quietly. He kept his eyes on Zuko until he was out. He let out a sigh of relief and look ahead and was face to face with Akita. "AHH!" He yelled. Akita facepalmed. "The hell are you doing? Your supposed to be resting. And don't yell so loud! Your lucky that Azula's troops left this area!" She snapped.
Aang narrowed his eyes. "Why did you bring me here?! Are you trying to kidnap me?" He snapped. Akita rolled her eyes. "Zuko saved you idiot. He saved you from those soldiers." She explained. Aang blinked, trying to take that it. "What? Why would he save me? Wasn't he just trying to capture me?" He asked.
Akita shrugged. "Yeah, but it was obvious he didn't want to leave you there!" Aang blinked again. "But why-" He was cut off with Zuko bursting out of the cave with a annoyed look on his face. "You." He pointed at Aang. "Aren't you supposed to be resting? You clearly are in no shape to leave, plus your arm, it should be sore by now." He growled and pulled him back inside. Aang sat back down on the moss and looked at Zuko in confusion.
"Why did you save me?" He asked him. Zuko rolled his eyes. "You looked like you were in trouble, so I stepped in, your welcome asshole." He snapped. Akita poked her head in. "Language, and please Zuko, we all know that's not the whole reason why you saved him. You saved him because you are madly in love with- OW!" She roared as Zuko stomped on her tail. Zuko dragged her outside by the ear, Aang noticed he was blushing like crazy. "Ow,ow , ow, ow!" She whined.
Aang scooted towards the entrance to hear what they were saying. He heard "Don't say that.." and "Totally in love..." as well as "Doesn't like me...". He heard then approaching the entrance and he quickly scooted back onto the moss. The duo entered the cave again and Zuko let out a sigh. "Aang, do you know your way back to your friends?" He asked the boy.
Aang shook his head. "No, not really. And I can't fly my way there either, my glider is scorched." He explained. "Anyways, how did you guys get here?" He asked. "Oh, you know, got lost when we were searching for a place to hang out." Akita explained with a shrug.
"Why were you searching for a place to hang out though?"
Zuko huffed. "We just... wanted to... find a place that was nice and quiet, but was also beautiful." He grumbled.
Aang's eyes lit up. "How about I can help you guys find the perfect place!" He suggested. Akita was about to answer when Zuko shook his head. "No Aang, you need to rest! And I'm not letting you get captured by Azula either!" He snapped.
It was silent for a few moments before Akita squealed. "Oooh! You do care about him~!" She teased. Zuko flushed red and looked away. "I do not!"
"Yes you do!"
"No I don't!"
"Yes you do!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"Yes- NO! DAMMIT AKITA!" He groaned. Akita put her hands on her hips triumphantly.
Aang was watching the interaction with interest. "You guys sure do act like siblings..." Zuko shrugged. "I guess we do, even if she gets on my nerves every fifteen seconds, I still love her." He slung a arm around Akita with a rare grin on his face.
Akita nods but continues anyways. "Anyways! Aang will help us on our search," Aang smiled. "But!" His smile turned into a frown, he didn't like buts... wait that sounded wrong no-. "Zuko will have to look out for you." Zuko and Aang nodded. "Gotcha!" "Sounds good." They both agreed.
The three of them got ready to go, well, Zuko helped out Aang on getting ready. Aang was deep in thought, as he wondered. What is my friends going to do now when they realize I'm gone?

Katara was in a full state of panic.
She woke up before Toph (surprisingly) and was about to wake up Aang before she noticed.
Aang was gone.
She literally let out a shriek in panic, waking up the others.
Toph was worried for her friend but she didn't let that show.
Sokka was dizzy from getting up so quickly and nearly face planted onto the floor.
They were all worried for their Avatar friend.
"Aang?! Aang?!" Katara called out.
They were all currently searching in the forest since Katara noticed smoke coming from that area.
They followed the scorch marks that were on the trees, leading them to the bottom of the cliff which is where Katara paled , Sokka gasped, and Toph was pretty much shook.
On the stone, there was blood.
A lot of blood.
It was sickening. Katara wanted to throw up badly.
"Is he....?" She trailed off, not wanting to hear the answer.
Sokka looked around and shook his head. "He's not dead, look!" He pointed at the splotches of blood leading away from the area.
Katara let out a sigh of relief and Toph nodded. "I knew Twinkle Toes wouldn't give up that easily." She proudly said.
Sokka looked around again and nodded. "The last thing I can hope for is that he didn't die from blood loss...." He mumbled worriedly.
They continued to follow the trail of blood until it stopped near bushes and vines.
Katara wondered where he was now.

Akita's head shot up when she heard multiple footsteps approaching. "Zuko, we need to hide, now." She lowly growled.
Zuko glanced at Aang. "What about-"
"I'll be fine."
The two turned towards Aang. "I can handle myself, you guys get somewhere safe, I'm not letting you guys get captured by them."
"But Aang-"
"Just go! I'll be fine." He quietly hissed at them.
Akita nodded. "You heard him, let's go Zuko, I'll hide us." She began to grab him by the wrist and pull him away.
Zuko gave one last glance to Aang, his golden eyes filled with concern, and followed Akita to safety.
Aang let out a sigh of relief and staggered up and wobbly made his way out of the cave.
"G-Guys?" He hoarsely asked.
Katara was the first to notice him and rushed towards her /crush/ to give him a hug. "Aang! Your ok!" She cried out in relief.
Toph smiled and walked over to them and put a hand in his shoulder. "Knew you wouldn't die that easily Twinkle Toes." She smirked.
Sokka gave Aang a hug too and then asked him. "What happened to you?! We thought you were dead!" He exclaimed.
"Well... it was kinda my fault this happened. I just wanted to go for a fly with my glider, and didn't want to wake you up so I left quietly. Then, I was shot down by Azula's soldiers that was currently in the area! My arm also got dislocated so..." His friends gasped as he continued his story, leaving some parts out on how Zuko and Akita saved him and when they were planning to find a spot to relax and hang out.
"Well... at least your safe now, let's go back to the campsite." Sokka said.
Aang wanted to protest, he wanted to say that he was planning on searching for a place to hang out with Akita and Zuko, but he knew that it won't end out well so he kept quiet and nodded.
As they started walking towards the campsite Aang was deep inside his mind, he was still seemingly shocked on how worried and protective Zuko was of him.
Aang smiled slightly. 'Even if Zuko is from the Fire Nation....
Zuko Isn't That Bad!'
