I sit on my bed, reading Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone. Luke let me borrow it since I was bored, plus all of my books were burned to ashes. I've always loved reading, I used to sneak a book slightly under my desk and read it while the teacher was talking, but then I would always get caught, and my book would be taken away.

   I also loved school. I know, that seems weird, but it's fun! Getting to leave home for a day and being responsible for yourself, going to class and listening to your teacher talk about how much they love teaching, and then they throw in a joke or two into their lessons, and getting to see your...

... friends.

   I just realized! My friends from school must be worried sick! I jump of my bed and start pacing the room. My friends probably don't know about the fire. They probably think I moved away or something.

   I had a group of five friends, including me. There was Kayden, Bradley, Skylar, and Meghan. They made me laugh and they comforted me when I felt sad. They helped me with homework and they stood up for me when I was teased. I miss them. I have to see them again.

   I put some shoes on and I walk out of my room, down the hallway, and to the front desk. Luckily, Draco is sitting there, working on the computer. I walk over to the desk and clear my throat. He looks up and frowns. "What do you want?" He asks me.

"Well, I was reading, minding my own business, when I remembered my friends from school. I miss them dearly, and I was wondering if there is a way you can, you know, contact them so I can see them again?" I say in my most innocent voice ever.

His frown deepens. "Well, Julia, we don't have any possible way for us to find this information about your friends, so I don't think we will be able to follow your request." He grumbles.

My eyes start to water, and more then ever I realize how much I miss them, and how much I lost in the fire. I lost my life, my perfectly happy life, to a stupid fire. My parents, my friends, my teachers, everything gone, just like that. And now I'm stuck in an orphanage with crazy gods and insane children, where I have to choose between good or bad. I feel a tear roll down my cheek. "I want to go home." I murmur.

Draco doesn't look as grumpy anymore, in fact, he looks worried, and sad. "Julia, let me tell you something." He comes out from behind the desk and he grabs my hand. We start walking down the hallway back to my room. "Let me tell you a story." He starts.

"When I was your age, maybe younger, I was told that I would be the next evil god. I was crushed. I was dreaming of becoming a hero, a police, but instead I was destined to become someone that police would hate. My parents were criminals, and they were thrilled to know that their son was going to be the lord of evil."

"I was the kid who would do anything to please my parents, so I followed my destiny. I bullied all the kids I could in school, I got in all the trouble that I could, I tried to be as bad as I could. Pretty soon everyone hated me, except the kids who looked up to me. But, sadly, when I was in 8th grade, I lost my parents. They were robbing a bank and the police caught them. My parents didn't surrender, so the police were forced to shoot, killing both of my parents."

"I was sent to this place, which was then called Gordon Orphanage, and that's when I met Dove. We became best friends, and I learned that she was destined to be the goddess of good. When we grew up, we bought the orphanage together, and renamed it Zugzwang Orphanage. The reason why you have to choose is because we are trying to find two new kids to run this place once we retired." He finished as we reached my room.

"Well, you should get back to reading. I heard Harry Potter is a good book." And for the first time, I saw him smile, and I smiled back.

Well that was chapter 9! We learned a little bit about Draco's history and how he ended up here. We also learned a bit about Julia's old friends. What will happen next? I hope you enjoyed this chapter!

(I just realized that Draco has the same name as Draco Malfoy. I only just started reading Harry Potter, but before that I got Draco's name from a YouTube video I watched. Anyway, Draco and Draco have the same name.)
