Surprise!
Addison opened the front door and all her friends and family jumped out from behind furniture as the lights came on. "Surprise! Happy Birthday Wyatt and Addison!"
Addison gasped as she ran over and pulled her parents into a hug. "This amazing! Thank you!"
"Yeah this is awesome!" Wyatt agreed. "My first birthday with friends and both my families."
Missy walked over and gave him a hug. "I'm so happy we get to celebrate your 18th birthday together. My little boy is officially a man."
Wyatt chuckled. "Not until tomorrow Ma. You still have one more day to spend with your 'little' boy."
"I know." Missy smiled softly, brushing the hair from his eyes. "I just wish we could have had more moments like these."
Wyatt smiled. "We're going to make plenty more moments like this in the future, don't worry."
Missy nodded as Wyatt felt a pair of arms wrap around his waist. He looked down and smiled when he saw a familiar head of green hair. "Hey zom-bae."
"Happy Birthday Wolfie." Eliza smiled, reaching up to peck his lips.
"Why thank you." Wyatt smiled brightly. "And how is my beautiful girl today?"
"Much better now that you're here." Eliza smirked playfully.
Wyatt smirked back and wrapped his arm around her waist. Eliza let out a squeak of surprise as he pulled her close, their faces less than an inch a part.
"I'm glad I could make your day." Wyatt whispered, leaning in for a kiss. However, just as their lips touched and arm wrapped around his shoulders.
"Happy Birthday Cuz!"
Wyatt sighed, pulling away from Eliza with an apologetic look before turning around. "Thanks Bucky, glad you could make it."
"I never miss a party." Bucky grinned. "So how does it feel to finally be an adult?"
"Great." Wyatt smiled before muttering. "It would be even better if you hadn't interrupted."
"What was that?" Bucky asked.
"Oh, uh, I said this party couldn't have gotten any better but then you showed up." Wyatt lied. "Not a party without you Buck."
"I know." Bucky boasted. "Now that I've said happy birthday to you I'm going to find the birthday girl."
"You do that." Wyatt told him, waving goodbye to Bucky. Once he had disappeared into the crowd Wyatt sighed in relief. "Finally. Now where were we?"
"Right, here." Eliza smiled, pulling him down so their lips met.
Wyatt smiled into the kiss. Best. Birthday. EVER.
🐾
Addison pulled away from her parents with a smile as Willa approached her. "So are you surprised?"
"Oh definately." Addison smiled brightly. "This is amazing! Though it looks like the only hunting the pack is doing is at the snack table."
Willa chuckled. "Yeah, I better make sure they don't eat everything but it was a good excuse."
"It was." Addison agreed. "But how come Wyatt didn't realize it? Shouldn't he know when the pack hunts?"
Willa's smile faded and she took a breath, as if trying to find the right words to say.
"Willa, what is it? Did I say something wrong?" Addison asked in concern.
Willa shook her head. "No Addison, you didn't do anything wrong. It's just, if Wyatt hasn't told you I don't know if I should."
Addison's brow furrowed in confusion. "Tell me what, Willa? Is Wyatt okay? Did something happen?"
"No, nothing's wrong and nothing happened it's just, Wyatt has never been on a hunt." Willa admitted.
Addison stared at her in disbelief. "He hasn't? But the way he was talking I thought--"
"You thought wrong." Willa cut her off. "Wyatt has trained to hunt but when it came to the final test, he choked."
"Choked?" Addison asked. "How did he choke?"
"He tracked and caught the rabbit with no problem." Willa sighed. "But he couldn't kill it. He just stood there with it struggling in his grasp, it was like all the fight went out of him. And the way of the pack is if you can't kill, you can't hunt."
"I had no idea." Addison admitted.
"Wyatt doesn't like to talk about it. A wolf's first hunt is a rite of passage. Most go on their first hunt at 14." Willa explained. "It makes him feel like a failure."
"Why are you telling me this?" Addison asked softly.
Willa sighed. "Because you're his sister too, and you should know. Besides, I think if anyone can make him realize he's not a failure, its you."
Addison nodded in understanding. "I promise I'll talk to him. For now, let's just all enjoy the party."
"Agreed." Willa replied. "And thanks Addison."
"You're welcome." Addison smiled before Willa vanished into the crowd.
Addison sighed, that was not what she had expected to hear. It wasn't a bad thing that Wyatt didn't have the heart to kill the rabbit, she probably didn't either. Addison hadn't realized that she would be required to kill. She thought some wolves tracked while others killed.
Addison sighed and turned around. She would solve this problem later, right now it was time to have fun. Addison was snapped from her thoughts when she ran into something hard. She looked up and saw a familiar pair of warm brown eyes looking down at her. "Hey birthday girl."
"Hey Zed." Addison smiled.
Zed grabbed her hand and pulled her into a nearby room away from the crowd. He reached in his pocket and produced a small, white box. "Happy Birthday Addy."
"Zed!" Addison gushed, taking the small white box. "You shouldn't have."
"Just open it." Zed smiled.
Addison opened the small box and gasped as she pulled out the charm bracelet. "Zed its beautiful!"
Zed smiled, taking the bracelet from her hand and clasping the bracelet around her wrist. "Its got charms for all the important events we've been through. An 'A' for Addison, a pair of pompoms for cheer, a zombie for when we joined Seabrooke, a boxing glove for when we first met in the Zombie Safe room,--"
Addison laughed. "Really?"
"Yes really." Zed chuckled. "Now can I finish?"
Addison nodded. "Go ahead."
Zed smiled. "So where were we? Oh yeah, a wolf for the werewolves, a moon for the moonstone, the boy and girl holding the emerald heart is for you reuniting with Wyatt and your birthday is in May so your birthstone is an emerald, and lastly a Z for Zed because you love me."
Addison laughed as she lifted his chin and pecked his lips. "That I do. Thank you Zed, the bracelet is perfect."
"Kids!" Missy called from the other room. "Time for cake!"
Addison grabbed Zed's hand and pulled him towards the door. "Come on!"
The two walked to the front of the room where Wyatt and Eliza were waiting. Beside them was a table with two cakes, one white with a pink border and the other white with a blue border.
"There you are." Eliza smiled. "I see Zed gave you the bracelet."
"He did and I love it." Addison gushed.
"Zappgrah grigada! (Happy Birthday!)" Bonzo cheered, wrapping his arms around Addison and Wyatt.
"Thanks Bonzo." Addison laughed, accepting the hug.
Wyatt patted his back. "Thanks buddy."
"Happy Birthday you two." Bree smiled.
"Thanks girl!" Addison replied.
Wyatt grinned. "Thanks Bree."
"Alright birthday twins." Dale grinned, holding up the camera. "Blow out the candles."
"Dad!" Addison groaned, walking over to the table with Wyatt. "Please don't call us that."
"Let's just blow out the candles." Wyatt whispered in her ear. "On the count of three. 1, 2, 3!"
Addison and Wyatt blew out the candles and everyone cheered. Missy handed them each a knife and let them hand out cake to everyone.
Addison sat next to Zed on the couch and Eliza sat in Wyatt's lap as they ate their cake. They were quietly chatting amongst themselves when Bucky came over. "There's the birthday girl!"
"You found me." Addison smiled. "What's up Cuz?"
"Just wanted to wish you a happy birthday before I go." Bucky replied.
Addison frowned. "You're leaving already?"
"Yeah." Bucky scratched the back of his neck. "I promised to teach the evening dance classes before Aunt Missy called me about the party. I'm sorry."
Addison sighed, getting up to give him a hug. "I understand and it's okay Bucky. You have a commitment and you have to make good on it. I'll see you at the studio for our session with the cheer squad okay?"
"Alright Cuz, see you then." Bucky nodded before heading out.
"Anybody else not sad to see him go?" Wyatt asked.
Addison scowled and crossed her arms. "Wyatt!"
"What?" Wyatt whined. "I know he's family but he's so annoying!"
Addison sighed, patting his knee. "I know, but you'll learn to love him."
"Maybe." Wyatt replied optimistically as Wynter walked over.
"Hi guys!" Wynter grinned. "Did you know cake us really sweet and delicious? The cake is all squishy and the icing is all creamy and together it's so yummy. Oooo Addison your bracelet is so shiny and pretty. Look at all the charms! Hehehe it's a little wolf!"
"Wynter," Wyatt questioned, noticing her rambling. "How much cake have you had?"
"Um," Wynter thought for a moment. "Two slices. No, four slices!"
"Oh boy." Wyatt sighed. "Wynter you know what happens when you eat too much sugar."
"But the cake was so yummy and tasty and I had to eat it Wyatt! I'm sorry!" Wynter rambled on.
"It's okay." Wyatt sighed, patting her shoulder before spotting Willa across the room. "Willa! Come here, Wynter had four slices of cake."
Willa walked over crossing her arms with a huff. "Seriously Wynter?"
"I said I was sorry." Wynter pouted. "It was just so yummy and tasty and sweet and--"
"I get it." Willa sighed. "Cake is good, but now I have to watch you until you crash from the sugar high. Then we'll have to carry you home."
"Okay!" Wynter replied before racing off into the crowd.
"You owe me." Willa muttered before taking off after Wynter.
"Yeah, I'm going to pay for that." Wyatt sighed before smiling. "But right now its party time."
"Sure is." Eliza agreed. "Hey Bonzo you ready?"
Bonzo gave a thumbs up from the mini DJ booth he'd set up. "Grusic grog? (Music time?)"
Eliza nodded. "You got it Bonzo."
Bonzo grinned as he turned on the music. "Madge grog! (Party time!)"
Eliza grabbed Wyatt's hand and Addison grabbed Zed's as they began to dance. Their first birthday that they celebrated together, and it couldn't be more perfect.
