this chapter takes place quite a few days after abel, and cj's deaths. it is also very very short, cause there's not much that jappens this day. at all really- for context; lately max has been feeling depressed over abel's death, vade and ruby have been trying to help. let's just say; it doesn't end well...

*BLAM!*

vade, and ruby, wake up to the sound of a very nearby gunshot. their ears ring, as they both get up to check it out. ruby gets up to wake up max, and vade goes to see what the gunshot was about. ruby opens max and abel's trailer door, and looks around, but can't find max. hmmm... strange.....

a scream of terror, mixed with hints of sorrow, pierces the brisk morning air. and ruby runs over, seeing that vade found max's max, having just recently shot himself. vade, and especially ruby, stared at his limp body in pure horror. vade then embraces ruby in a tight, soft, and comforting hug, as niether of them say a damn word. they both carefully pick up max's body, and carry him slowly, and gently over to the nearby river. to cremate max's body, as they'd done for most of their friends. and this time, both of them were there, to help keep an eye on eachother, as to, not repeat a recent mistake... later, vade and ruby decide to cuddle, and comfort eachother.

ruby: *sniff* i-i don't *hic* understand! i-i thought we were h-helping him!

vade: oh sweetie..~ *sniff* we did our best.~ there was n-not much we could have done to help him.. some people just g-get so attached to a loved one, that's it becomes more than difficult to move on...~

she gently pets ruby's hair, in yet another attempt to comfort her. and, really, there's no such guarantee that ruby will get as worse as max anytime soon. and she knows this, and she's very thankful for it.
