*THE NEXT DAY*

Ivy stood at the spot impatiently waiting for James to arrive. Few minutes later, James arrived with Diaz, Erica and Lucy. Ivy looked surprised when she saw the team. "Told you I'll bring backup". James quipped. "Now let's go save the world". Diaz said as the team headed outside to carry out their mission. It was a bit dark outside and freezing. The crew finally reached the fence.

"Let's go over the plan. I break open the lock, Diaz and Lucy subdue the scoundrel, Erica and Ivy you do the rest and not a single word of this to the commander. Do I make myself clear?". James yelled."Yes sir". Everyone responded. Well, except Ivy.
"Okay then, ready?". James questioned while opening the fence.

They all stood ready for action. Diaz spotted a scoundrel staggering towards them and he screamed "scoundrel". To this, they all stood patiently waiting to subdue the creature. Lucy and Diaz brought it down and pressed it firmly to the ground with authority. The scoundrel was trying to break free all to no avail. Ivy quickly withdrew the blood sample. "Got it". Ivy said after successfully withdrawing the blood sample. Ivy passed the sample to Erica for safe keeping and for testing and evaluation later. "Perfect". Erica remarked.

Lucy and Diaz threw the scoundrel back behind the fence. "Here". James said while tossing a chain and a lock to Diaz to firmly secure the fence. While locking the fence, the scoundrel kept knocking and hammering on the fence in an effort to get in. It managed to slightly bite Diaz's hand through the fence.

On their way back to the bunker,Diaz finally spotted blood on his knuckles. "Hmm". Diaz said looking perplexed while wiping the blood off his knuckles.

Once in the bunker, he(Diaz) felt warm and could feel his body changing in ways he couldn't comprehend.
