The end of my senior year is where our story begins. It was around July, one of the hottest days. I was hanging out with Bailey, Harper and their little sister, Kelsey at their house all trying to hog a fan to keep cool.
"Hey! I'm using this fan!"
"Yeah, well-so am I!"
"No!! I'm using it!"
"Guys lets just be civil about thi-"
"NO!" We all shouted back at Bailey who sighed, continuing to fan herself with a brochure of her dream school.
"You sure you want to go that school? It's all the way up at North Carolina." Harper asked, side glancing her sister's brochure, changing the subject from our heated debate over the fan.
"Yes, I'm sure. It's got everything I want. If I work hard enough, I will actually get into the STEM program!" Bailey explains happily. While she was fashionista, her real passion was science. Anything about it she loved.
"I don't know. I don't think I'd want to leave Seabrook." Harper muttered, a little unsure of herself.
"Me either!" Kelsey imitated her sister.
"Why not? Wouldn't you want to leave? I thought you wanted to go that college where they offer basketball scholarships in Miami?"
"Well... ok. I'd want to leave just to go to that school, but then I might come right back." Harper admitted. That was her passion: everything to do with basketball. In the years that passed since my parents became a couple, the school added a soccer team and a basketball team. They were coed sports, allowing both girls and boys to play together.
"What about you, Zoella?" Kelsey piped up.
"I...I think I'd want to stay here, honestly. I don't have any reason to go." I explain and then she turns to Harper.
"Can I go with you?" She begs Harper and Bailey, looking at them from either side of me.
"No. You can't. I won't allow it!" Bailey says sternly.
"It's our journey, we have to take this path on our own. Besides, you'll have your friends and Zoella's here with you." Harper added.
"She's not as fun as you two." Kelsey mutters, making Bailey laugh out of shock.
"Hey!" I protested with a smirk at her mischievous tone.

~A few hours later~

I returned home to a house with full air conditioner. Finally!!
"Mom, Dad! I'm home!" I say coming into the house, but all I get is air back. Hmm... where could they be?

It was a Saturday. There was nowhere they could be except home. I decided to brush it off, and headed upstairs to start my homework from yesterday.

After finishing my math homework, I heard shuffling from outside my room. Curious, I put my ear up against my door and listened.
"Addison, please listen to me!"
"No, Zed! Don't you understand? I want this!! I'm going to run the store from California! I got the email from the man this morning! It will boost my clothing store!"
"Addy, sweetheart, listen to me. Do you really want to leave me and Zoella behind?" Mom sighed. From what I gathered they were talking about mom's online clothing store, something about someone wanting to make it an actual store and move it to California.
"Who I said I would leave you two behind? Are you saying that you're not going to come with me?" Mom asked dad, heartbroken.
"No, I'm not. Wait-Addy-come back!" Dad begged, before they both left to go into their bedroom. I backed away from my door. What did this mean?
