Funeral
Gem and Taurus were sitting on a bench at school. They were on the third floor, where their lockers were.
Gem liked it up here because it was never crowded. Most people usually hung out in the cafeteria, or in the gym before class. Others hung out on floors where their next classes were.
The third floor only had lockers, the classroom for Spanish class, the computer lab, a storage room, and the physics classroom.
Taurus gripped her books tightly in her arms and stood up. "Can we go walk around a bit? I don't want to sit on this bench for ten minutes then go sit in a desk for an hour. I need to stretch my legs a bit."
Gemini also stood up. "Sure. Where do you want to go?"
Taurus shrugged. "You want to become friends with me as part of your mission to make all the zodiac friends again, so maybe you could help me become friends again with your other friends."
Gem nodded. "Alright. They usually hang out outside or in the library."
"But we're not allowed in the library without a library pass."
Library passes were little slips of paper that permitted a student to stay in the library. If you wanted to go to the library, a teacher had to give you a special piece of paper which you had to show to the librarian as you entered.
"The librarian lets them in without library passes, since they bake her cookies every now and then."
Taurus laughed as they walked down the stairs to the second floor. "They bake her cookies and in return they get a hangout spot to themselves? That's clever." They walked around the second floor, searching for the library.
"Yeah. They go outside under that tree on the field for recess and lunch though."
"Can you get in the library without a library pass?"
"No. But I'all be allowed in if they're there."
"I don't even really..." Taurus froze.
Gem stopped walking and looked back at her friend, who's face started to turn pale. "What?"
"Am I hallucinating, or do you see her too?"
"See who?" Gem turned around and looked down the hallway. A crowd of people were gathered around someone who was probably important.
"Red hair. Standing in the middle."
That's when Gem noticed her.
She had red curly hair, and a huge grin on her face. She balanced on her crutches as people went up to her to give her a hug. She was standing beside Leo and Sagittarius.
"Who's that?"
"That's Aries." Taurus grabbed Gem's wrist and pulled her forward.
"The one in the coma?"
"How many other Aries do you know?"
"Oh yeah."
Taurus pushed through the crowd of people until she was standing in front of Aries. "Hey."
"Taurus! I haven't seen you in a while!"
Taurus gave Aries a hug and smiled. "I have a new friend for you to meet."
"Really? Who?"
Taurus smiled at Gem. "This is Gemini's twin sister, Gem."
"I am the more talented twin, just so you know."
Aries chuckled. "I didn't know he had a twin."
Taurus laughed. "Nobody did."
Sagittarius walked over to Gem and put an arm around her shoulders. "Gem is also one of my new best friends, along with Pisces and Cancer. You missed a lot when you were in your coma."
Aries sighed. "It's strange. One moment I was throwing fire at my enemies, the next I woke up in a hospital."
"You were out for a few weeks," informed Sagittarius. "Good thing you're a constellation. You're healing faster than a human would."
"You see Leo?" whispered Sagittarius.
"Yes," replied Gem as she glanced at her. She looked a lot better. The dark bags under her eyes were starting to go, her pale face was starting to regain its colour, she was smiling and this time it wasn't a fake smile. For once she looked truly happy.
"Look how happy she is."
"It's nice."
"It is, isn't it? Leo's looking better, Aries is alive, things are starting to get better!"
"Don't jinx it. By the way, where's Cancer and Pisces?"
Sagittarius shrugged. "The library I assume. Come on, let's go find them."
Gem and Taurus followed Sagittarius to the library.

After recess, the fire signs were in gym class. They were in a different class than Pisces, Virgo and Aquarius.
Aries was sitting on the stage while Sagittarius and Leo played capture the flag.
The gym teacher approached Aries and sat beside her on the stage. "It's too bad that the champ of capture the flag has to sit out and watch her friends play."
Aries shrugged. "I'll be able to play again soon enough."
The teacher smiled as she patted Aries on the back. "That's the spirit. Are you jealous of the people who get to play?"
"Very."
"We're all happy to see you back here in school. Get well soon, okay?" She hopped off the stage and went back into her office.
Aries watched the game carefully for a chance to pick at her friends. "SO CLOSE LEO, TOO BAD YOU WEREN'T FASH ENOUGH TO GRAB THAT FLAG!"
Leo whipped her head around and stuck her tongue at Aries. "Wow you're so good at this game... oh wait! You can't even play."
Aries crossed her arms. "Who's the capture the flag champion again? Last I heard, it wasn't you!"
"We'll see about that." The whistle blowed. Leo looked to see other side of the gym to see Sagittarius holding Leo's team's flag in her hand while her teammates cheered.
Aries smirked. "I was distracting you so Saggi could get the flag."
Leo rolled her eyes. "Don't make me come up there and push you off the stage."
Aries jokingly put a hand over her heart. "You'd never do that to your best friend, you love me!"
"Mmmhmm."
After the game, Sagittarius sat down beside Aries and high fived her. "Yeah! Thanks for distracting Leo."
"No problem. You should have seen her face."
"Oh, I did. She looked like this." Sagittarius looked at Aries with an exaggerated surprised expression. They both laughed.
"Surprise." All of the sudden Sagittarius was pushed off the stage. She landed on her knees.
Sagittarius smirked, grabbed Leo's ankle, and pulled her down with her. Leo landed on her ass. Leo and Sagittarius both laughed at each other.
"Guys, we don't need any more injured people." Aries leaned forward, and hopped off the stage with her good foot and her crutches.
Leo got up and rubbed her lower back. "That actually hurt."
Sagittarius shrugged. "I wouldn't have done that if you didn't push me off the stage."
Leo twisted Sagittarius' ear. "You think you're so clever."
Aries chuckled. "Guys, other people are giving us weird looks. They think we're actually fighting."
"We are fighting. I'm about to beat Leo up, smirked Sagittarius.
Leo cracked her knuckles. "You wish."
"Things are back to normal." Aries smiled. "I'm so happy."

Pisces was putting his books away when Cancer ran over and tried to hide himself in Pisces' locker.
Pisces blinked in surprise. "Did you forget that you're not a book. You can't fit in my locker!"
"Yes I can! I just need to squeeze... and there. Now quickly close the door!"
Pisces arched his eyebrows. "Why?"
A tall guy stomped over to Pisces. "I saw him come this way. Where is he?"
"Who?" asked Pisces.
He pushed Pisces. "Don't play dumb. Where is the blue haired fucker?"
This tall guy was known as Erik. Erik was known as the guy that nobody messed with. He had anger issues, and a burning hatred for Cancer.
"What did Cancer do this time?"
Erik turned around. His shirt was signed in sharpie. Kick me hard, I deserve it!!!
Pisces sighed at the words written on the shirt. "That's not even Cancer's hand writing. And you do deserve it, you pushed him in a puddle of mud when he was walking home from school last Friday!"
"I did no such thing."
"You push me too. I now suffer from emotional damage."
"I'll give you emotional damage now in a minute." Erik ripped the locker door open and pulled Cancer out by the hair.
"Don't rip my hair out. I don't want to go bald!" Cancer tried to pry Erik's hands off.
"Hey." Pisces tried to pull Cancer away from Erik, but his grip was too strong.
Erik grabbed Cancer by the front of the shirt. "You ruined my expensive shirt!"
"And I wasted some of the ink in my sharpie on your ugly shirt. Your point?"
Erik slammed Cancer against the lockers. "Listen here you little fucker-"
At this point, a crowd of people gathered around to watch the fight.
"Stop! A teacher will come by any minute!" Pisces continued to try to pull Erik away from Cancer.
Erik slapped Cancer in the face. Then punched him a few times.
Cancer smirked. "Beat me up all you want, my my bloody and bruised face will still look better than yours!"
"Cancer! Stop provoking him!" screamed Pisces as he tried to pull Erik away with all his strength.
Erik continued to punch Cancer. He gave him a black eye and cut hip lip open.
"Someone help! What are you all standing there for?" screamed Pisces at the crowd of students.
Everybody looked away. They didn't want to get caught in the fight. Especially against Erik.
Cancer smirked with a small trail of blood dripping from his lip. "Just buy a new shirt. Or save the money and sign up for anger management classes."
Erik stopped and pushed Cancer to the ground. Cancer looked up to see Erik snatch a textbook from the nearest person. Erik held the textbook in the air.
Cancer closed his eyes and braced himself for the hit.
Five seconds later, nothing happened so he opened his eyes.
Aquarius was standing in front of him, blocking him from the hit.
"Why are you getting involved? This is between me and him!" growled Erik.
Aquarius snatched the book and tossed it on the ground. "Your temper has gotten out of control lately. Picking on someone who can't fight back... pathetic." He grabbed Cancer and pulled him away. Pisces followed.

Aquarius and Pisces were in the boys washroom with Cancer. Cancer sat on the sink while Aquarius help wash the blood from his face.
Pisces crossed his arms. "Was it worth it?"
Cancer smirked. "It was."
Aquarius sighed. "Don't smirk. You cracked your lip open again."
"Oops."
Pisces rolled his eyes. "I don't think it was worth it at all. He got a few kicks on the back from other people, but your entire face is beat up."
Cancer shrugged. "Now I'll have to spend an hour or two in the principals office."
"You didn't fight back," said Aquarius. "You likely won't get in a lot of trouble.
"So, why are you caring about him all of the sudden? Aren't you supposed to hate us?" smirked Pisces with his hands on his hips.
"I can't let you idiots get the shit beaten out of you. Sagittarius would kill me."
"So you're helping us because of her?"
Aquarius paused for a second. "Yes."
"That's the only reason?" asked Pisces.
"Yes."

Libra and Virgo were eating lunch in the cafeteria.
"I'm so glad that my bio test is over. Studying for bio gets on my nerves after a while."
Virgo nodded. "Me too. When's your next test?"
Libra smiled. "All my tests are finished for a while."
"Same."
"Sorry to interrupt your date, but Taurus is sitting with Gemini's twin and her group of friends, so I have nobody else to sit with." Scorpio sat down beside Libra.
Virgo rolled his eyes. "It's not a date."
"We were talking about tests," informed Libra.
Scorpio sighed. "There's so much drama going on today."
"What drama?" asked Libra.
"Aries is back in school, Cancer got beat u-"
"Aries is back? As in she's alive?" asked Virgo with wide eyes.
"Yeah. She's sitting over there beside Leo."
Virgo looked where Scorpio was pointing. She was alive and smiling. "I didn't kill her."
Libra held Virgo's hand. "Of course not! What happened was not your fault anyway."
"But I'm that one that-"
"You were tricked into attacking her. It was not your fault."
"But-"
"It was not your fault."
"But-"
"It. Was. Not. Your. Fault."
Virgo sighed. "It was not my fault."
Libra smiled. "Exactly!"
"She was waking up when I visited her at the hospital last Friday," explained Scorpio. "The heart monitor started acting crazy and I panicked and screamed for the nurses. They shoved me out of the room because they didn't know what was going on. I came back a day later and found that she was awake."
Libra rolled her eyes. "That's Aries, always making an entrance."
"I wonder if she hates me," muttered Virgo.
"From what I heard she doesn't remember clearly what happened," explained Scorpio. "She remembers that she was throwing fire at the water and air sign's army, then she woke up in the hospital. She doesn't even know that she was attacked, or that you're the one that was tricked into attacking her."
"So what happened with Cancer?" asked Libra.
"The usual. He provoked Erik, and this time Erik snapped and beat him up pretty bad. Cancer didn't fight back, so the situation is looking better for him than Erik."
"You're pretty talkative today," said Virgo.
Scorpio shrugged. "It's fun when you have all the details on the gossip."
"Did anything else happen today?" asked Libra.
"Miss Smith said that a lot of people failed the biology tests that were written today. She said that in class A, the highest mark was a fifty two."
Libra and Virgo froze. They were in class A.
"H-how did she correct t-the tests so quickly?" asked Libra.
"The highest mark was a fifty two?" asked Virgo with wide eyes.
"Yes," replied Scorpio.
"But... but I thought that test went really well," muttered Virgo.
Libra bit her lip. "We studied so hard for it."
Scorpio smirked. "You two are unbelievable."
"What?" asked Libra.
"I'm teasing. She probably didn't even look at your tests yet. You guys are way too gullible."
"SCORPIO!"
Scorpio laughed and ran away. Libra got up and chased her.
Virgo couldn't believe he got tricked. He mentally face palmed and continued eating his lunch.

Capricorn and Gemini arrived at a hill. The hill was full of trees and bushes, but at the top there was a clearing with a hole in the ground and a little tombstone. Lotus Motus. The best dog a guy could ask for. R.I.P
Capricorn looked around. "I don't see a lot of people here."
Gemini shrugged. "Maybe because it's a funeral for a dog."
"Yeah, but he's been so depressed over Lotus. It's kind to show up and support him."
"I guess."
Cancer looked down at the coffin in the ground. "I don't know how to have a proper funeral, and everybody that I called refused to do a funeral for a dog, so I guess I have to do this myself."
Capricorn recognized everybody in the small crowd of people. Aries, Taurus, Gem, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Pisces and him and Gemini were there. Virgo looked bored -libra probably forced him to come- while Aquarius was nowhere to be seen.
The others probably showed up because who could ignore an invitation to a funeral, from a boy who was depressed over his dog's death?
Apparently Aquarius could.
During the "funeral" Cancer talked about how much he missed his dog, others would comment about what a cute dog he was, and it was over after half an hour.
Cancer thanked everyone for showing up, and his old friends hugged him before leaving.
After a while, it was only Gemini, Capricorn, Pisces and Cancer left.
"Your face." Gemini gave Cancer a hug.
Pisces patted Cancer on the shoulder. "He picked on Erik again. He has detention after school everyday this week for being involved. Erik got suspended for a while."
"Did anyone see Aquarius?" asked Cancer.
"No. He's the only one out of us that didn't show up," replied Capricorn.
"Really?" Cancer sighed. "He must of had something important to do."
"What are you going to do now?" asked Gemini.
Cancer grabbed a shovel that sat beside the pile of dirt that he created when he dug the ground up for his dog's grave. "I guess I'll have to fill in the hole."
Pisces picked up another shovel. "We've got this. You guys can leave now if you want."
"Alright. See you later." Capricorn waved as he and Gemini walked away.
"I can't believe Aquarius didn't show up," muttered Gemini. "What an asshole."
"You don't know why he wasn't here. Something important could have happened."
"Maybe."
As Capricorn walked past the trees, something caught his eye. He looked up to see Aquarius, sitting in a tree. Aquarius and Capricorn made eye contact.
"Do you see him?" Capricorn poked Gemini on the arm.
"See who?"
"Him!" Capricorn turned around and pointed. Aquarius was gone.
So you're not ready to admit that you care yet. Aquarius, why are you always so stubborn?
