Return of Chaos

     Pisces' pov

Cancer was the only one in this entire flat who'd let me sleep as long as I could, without waking me out of boredom. Every time we slept over at each other's apartment – quite often, as my sisters were often very busy and I needed some calm – I woke up with the feeling that I'd actually slept well, for once. And every time that happened, Cancer was already awake, but she's be reading a book instead of trying to wake me.

This time was the same, except I didn't wake up in peace but by the sound of someone screaming. My eyes opened slowly and I noticed Cancer doing what she always did in the morning; reading a book. She was laying in Gem's bed, because Gemini and I shared a room – I tried sharing a room with Aries, but she talks in her sleep, and it's quite irritating – and ever when Cancer was over, my dear sister agreed she'd sleep on the couch.

But now, I don't think she was still sleeping on the couch. I slowly sat up, mumbled a sleepy "Morning" to Cancer before I stumbled to the door and softly made my way to the living room. That's where I found out what was going on.

Something happened to the balcony. The curtains in front of the glass were opened up and gave view to our balcony – the only difference with usual, was that it resembled more with a swimming pool.

Aries stormed into the room, giving me a furious look as she pushed something into my hands. 'This is what was pinned to our front door,' she growled and moved back to the hallway. Reading the paper, I understood what had happened. Though I didn't notice much of the Aries/Furface discussion some days ago, Gem had explained it to me and this was obviously a revenge. The paper read; "To tiny Dwarf. So you think throwing water balloons to my head is funny? Well, as a thank you for that, I gave you a swimming pool. Have fun!"

I turned my gaze over to the door of glass, which let through tiny drops of water and crawled over our floor. We couldn't do anything; if we opened the door to go outside, all the water would move in. The railings on the outside of the balcony kept the water to stay, and I almost thought we'd have to give up, when a great idea popped into my head.

'Gemstone!' I called around, and she immediately appeared in the door opening. 'Hey, Pisces! Did you see the pool Furface gave us? Aries is going mad, I think she's going to block the door again. But well, at least now we have a –' 'How about you and Aries go to the newbies, and get the water away with buckets via their balcony?' I interrupted her. During Gem's thinking about it, I continued: 'Then Cancer and I will go to Virgo to solve this. What do you think?'

'Sounds like a plan, but how about I'll first move our table outside?' she suggested. 'Aries kicked it when she saw what'd happened, and well, you know what happens when Aries kicks things... It's like that time when Furface wanted to take her back for the tomato-prank, only now –'

'Yes, I understand,' I sighed, cutting her off again. 'Alright, go get the table, I'll tell Cancer, and then you and Aries can –'

'Actually, I'm already working on that.' Aries interrupted me this time, with two empty yet wet buckets in both her hands. 'Didn't Gemini tell you?' 'Oops, totally forgot,' said Gem innocently. 'Great,' I sighed, but before I could turn around and share it all with Cancer, my sister's voice went straight through the silence again. 'Besides, the boys are going to take a look on the third floor. If I'm right, Libra forces them to come along and "search for any signs of chaos".' Aries flashed us both a look that contained irritation and pity. 'This thing is raising to his head.'

'You don't say,' I sighed, and turned my back on her to go over to Cancer and tell her everything.

'Alright, we can fix this,' was her clever respond. I smiled and remembered some times before this had happened; Cancer's reaction had been completely different. Well, people change in this place.

'Alright, Aries, Gemini and the boys are at the third floor, so I guess it comes down to us and Virgo,' I said while we got dressed and walked up to apartment 24, where our optimism got another negative boost.

'"Hello whoever needs my help, I'm at the supermarket buying cereal and stuff. Back to available in half an hour ~ Virgo". Great, now what?' Cancer sighed, but I frowned when I realized something. 'Isn't the store closed on Sunday's?' I asked her, but Cancer shook her head. 'No, but we're only open in the morning. Am I glad I don't have to work today!'

'Why, because Virgo is there?' I laughed and walked back to the apartment. To my surprise, Cancer didn't walk with me. 'No, because Sunday's are usually a great opportunity to check up with everyone else here. Now, I can skip Aquarius and Capricorn, I don't think Aries is in the mood, I've spoken to you already, and I'm not up to go all the way down to the third floor. And Leo...' 'I see, you're just bored, aren't you?' I smiled at her, and grabbed her arm, pulling her with me to the stairs. 'Well, I can fix that. Let's go help Aries find some stuff to block Furface's door with.'

My solution to Cancer's boredom wasn't just something I made up that instant; it was a solution that was used all around the apartments. Whenever you were angry, or pissed, or sad, you'd go downstairs and sob for a while, then gather things for Aries to put in front of Leo's door when she'd be annoying again. Or at least, that's what you'd do if you were on the Aries-side in their conflict, everyone on the Leo-side – Leo herself and Aquarius, neither came down a lot – would just hide all that stuff again.

As information, the third floor wasn't just a floor where you would find only broken stuff. A lot of old stuff Aries had broken was now located in the apartments; you could find our first couch there, together with some broken chairs and even an old working fridge, which we actually didn't have to throw away. Virgo managed to repair it later on, and now it was used for cold drinks and stuff from Leo only.

This was all set in apartment 21, the last apartment in the hallway on the third floor. But, as I said, the third floor wasn't just any kind of deserted place. It was like the residents had left it without bothering to take their stuff, because we often found things that hadn't been ours. If it was made out of wood, Aries would borrow Capricorn's axe – no, it wasn't his, it was his dad's – and cut it in big pieces, big enough to block Leo's door with. But there was no need to find something new made of wood, because when Cancer and I got on the third floor, there already was a big pile of pieces of wood.

'And you're going to do what with those?' Libra asked, a hint of disbelief in his voice. 'Block Furface's door,' Aries said, nonchalant as ever, when she nodded towards me and Cancer. 'Ah – you're here too. Great, come and lend me a hand with these.'

I flashed Cancer a smile and she smiled back, while we, under Libra's frowning expression, lifted some wood together and walked back up to the stairs. From the voices behind us, I could tell Gemini was following us, and I think Taurus and Sag came up too.

And indeed; once upstairs everyone had brought up some wood, except Libra, who was still shaking his head to this. 'I can't believe you're doing this... is this the chaos everyone has told me about?'

'Chaos? No way! More like a once-a-month thing. Now, where's my nails and hammer?' responded Aries and started to make her way back to our apartment, while Taurus and Sag moved the wood a bit more to apartment 27, both with big smirks.

Libra moved over to Gem: 'So, she's actually serious about this?' 'Of course she is! Blocking Furface inside is one of her favorite hobbies! And one of our favorite hobbies is to watch her do so, right Pisces, Cancer?' Cancer and I nodded innocently, while Gemini just kept talking: 'But, we also have other hobbies, you know. We sometimes play American football, or soccer, and of course none of us is too old for a good game of tag. And, another once-a-month thingy, we have a Mario Kart contest! Mostly just me, Aries, Capricorn and Virgo, but there are also times when Cancer or Pisces feels like joining in.'

Libra didn't really seem to listen, he just watched Aries coming out of our door again, this time with her hammer and nails. She picked up some of the wood, dragged it over to Leo's apartment and pulled it up, pinning a nail in it as she began to hammer it.

'But – she can't – the walls – I don't think –' he sputtered, obviously in protest with what my sister was doing. 'Just let it be,' Cancer advised him, 'and don't try to keep her from doing so. She can become very – eh – aggressive in those things.'

The loud sounds of the hammer hitting the nail every time now sounded loudly through the hallway, and I had the thought it wouldn't take long for Leo to notice this and come out. Luckily, this wasn't just Aries hobby, but also her specialty, and soon lots of the pieces were in front of the door.

'Can we help?' Sag asked Aries after a few minutes, looking rather eager to do something too. Aries stopped hammering for a second, the she shrugged and passed him the hammer, to which Taurus immediately started saying he wanted to do so after Sag.

Their brother, however, still stood beside me, Cancer and Gemini, bewildered as he was by the fact one of us was really locking someone inside. I'm glad he took Cancer's warning seriously, because really, this would end badly if he'd try to stop Aries. He kept a confused look on his face, then it changed to something which actually looked a bit angry, before he walked back to his apartment and slammed the door behind his back.

None of his brothers seemed to notice, they were too busy pinning wood all over the door, until Aries took back the hammer. 'Alright, I think we're done. I mean, let's give the lion some small chances before she's begging to get her out, right?' Sagittarius and Taurus high-fived, and Aries walked up to Gemini with a wide smirk. 'Well, what do we bet? Fifteen, twenty?'

'Woah, wait up,' Taurus fell in between them, 'are we betting here? What's the stake?' 'A chocolate bar that she'll finds out after ten minutes!' Gemini yelled. 'Two chocolate bars that she'll finds out after five minutes,' Aries grinned.

'Five chocolate bars that she'll finds out after seven and a half minutes,' a voice behind us said, yet we all knew who it was. 'Five?' said Gemini, with the same disbelief we heard in Libra's voice before.

'Five indeed,' Virgo grinned. He held up a large bag, filled with stuff from the supermarket. 'I'm just back from the store, I can take it.'

'Deals are set!' Aries smirked, which got some commentary from the two brothers. 'But we didn't bet yet!' Sag whined, and I think Taurus said about the same, but I couldn't quite hear it because of another door opening.

'And you won't, not even when this happens another time,' Libra said strictly from the door of his apartment. Taurus sighed and rolled his eyes back while he walked up to him. 'Fine, Libra, you can forbid Sag things. That's cool, because he's younger and stuff, but I'm older than both of you and I have the rights to –'

'Don't scream too loud!' Gemini hissed at him when he started raising his voice. 'Furface might hear it and come out, or at least try to come out, and then I've lost the bet!' 'You're going to lose anyway,' Aries smirked, 'because, ten minutes? No way. She should at least be suspicious by now. Pisces, how much time has passed?'

She turned to me and I quickly checked the watch, which had an ever-lasting place around my wrist. 'Almost two and a half minute now. Time goes fast.'

'Halfway through,' my sister smiled and turned back to Gemstone. 'Too bad, sissy. You're gonna lose three bars for that.'

It turned silent again when Libra loudly coughed and walked back into the hallway. 'Fine, Taurus, you may do whatever you want. I won't bother you with "annoying adult stuff" again. Sag, on the other hand –'

'This is so unfair!' Sagittarius pouted. 'I can never decide for my own! It's always either you who must choose things for me, or dad, or even Taurus, and it's so unfair!' 'Whatever!' Libra yelled, his cheeks now glowing red as he seemed to almost pop. 'You can do whatever you want as well! Because, you're not even going to listen to me anyways! I'm trying to make everything fine and alright, but nobody listens and I end up alone again! Well, it's all your problem now! Good luck with it!'

He angrily stomped back to the open door and slammed it again, causing Aries and Gemini to shush him again.

Cancer let a playful frown play on her forehead. 'Funny; Aquarius did the same in her first days here. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as I'm checking my memory I can remember she had her breakdown not much time after.'

     Aries' pov

We all chuckled at Cancer's sentence, even the newbies seemed to be alright with us predicting Libra's breakdown. I suppose they felt it coming to, one way or another one. 'Pisces, the time, please?' I asked my sister, who checked her watch again. 'And... sorry, six minutes passed already.'

'Well, that's crap,' I muttered. 'Where the hell is that lion? She should have been out already!' 'Good luck with your betting, everyone,' Cancer interrupted suddenly, 'but I'm going inside, just reading, and stuff. Let me know who won this, alright?' She hugged Pisces, who said her goodbye as well, and left off to her apartment.

'I don't know what's with you, but I'm staying here until Furface came out!' Gemini said excitedly, and just as she did, a loud bouncing sounded from the door of apartment 27, followed by a familiar voice that made me smirk widely.

'What is – oh no, dear gosh – not again – TINY DWARF! COME AND RELEASE ME!'

Furface's voice was extremely high always when she screamed, which was the reason why Gem, Pisces and Virgo had already covered up their ears, under weird looks of the boys.

I, on the other hand, first checked Pisces, who smiled brightly and announced it was seven minutes and thirty seconds almost exactly. Virgo smirked widely and I rolled my eyes back, while I turned to apartment 27 and stood right in front of it, hands on my hips and my legs spread.

'Yeah, you'd like that, wouldn't you?' I asked her through the door, getting another protest back. 'YOU SICKLY, LITTLE, TINY – stay calm, Leo, stay calm – alright, I've got a good reason for you to let me out!' her voice yelled back.

'Sure you do, it's probably something that has to do with your looks, doesn't it?' I grinned.

'No! Seriously, just let me out! Why are you keeping me in anyway?'

'Because of your whining; but you know what, I'm in a good mood. Gem, don't remind me of the five chocolate bars I have to give Virgo,' I warned my sister, who started pouting and sighed softly. I turned back to Furface again: 'You can come out after you've answered a riddle.'

'A riddle?' Furface beamed up, to which I groaned and repeated myself: 'Yes, a riddle. Here it is: what came first, the chicken or the egg?'

It took some seconds before she reacted again, but it wasn't one of her usual dumb answers. 'Come on, Dwarf! I can't answer that! Alright – you know what? I won't call you Dwarf for the rest of this day. Deal?'

'Nope,' I grinned, turning to the others to see their smirks too.

'A week – I won't call you Dwarf for a week!'

'You must be really desperate in there,' I frowned. 'And I'm actually getting quite sick of your begging; fine, give me one, incredible, logical, easy yet understandable, no-contradiction-possible reason of why I should let you out now.'

It was all silence for a moment, just a moment. Then she spoke up.

'Aquarius and Capricorn are coming back!'
