Flashback Day 2

(Hey everybody! I'm really sorry for not updating anything for.. oops, a month. I was very busy and I didn't have much inspiration, but luckily, that changed. I'll keep on trying to get back to dail updates, because I now finally have some more time to do so. Anyway, have fun reading on, and thank you all for voting, commenting, etc.!!! Bye!!)

     Libra's pov

If Taurus thought he'd gotten all of the commentary he could possibly get already, he was terribly mistaking. Dad wasn't very glad when he saw Sagittarius that morning, with bandages around his head and arm. Taurus' explanation didn't make it any better; in fact, it only got worse.

'You went to the roof of this flat? In a storm? Are you mad?' dad yelled after my eldest brother's sentence. 'It was only to repair the electricity –' Taurus fell in, but our father cut him off: 'Oh yes, I understand it must have been extremely hard to wait until everything had calmed down, or until I had returned to call anyone!'

'Dad, you don't know how it was! Everything was dark!' Taurus shouted. 'And the fridge might not have worked until today!' Sag said, to which dad responded: 'Not now, Sagittarius. You are injured and thanks to Libra's knowns about first aid, your arm is –' 'Libra didn't do anything! It were the girls who took care of him; Libra only stayed here and didn't move his ass until we came back!' screamed Taurus.

I wanted to respond to that, but dad was quicker. He raised his hand and closed his eyes, as if his brain was working too slow for everything to sink in. Then, after a good minute of silence – in which Taurus kept glancing me looks of hate – he opened his eyes again and looked at Taurus and Sag.

'There are a couple of things in that last sentence I don't seem to understand. As an example; the fact we actually do have neighbors, and you have met them without even telling me about it. Also...'

This time, he turned to me. And he didn't look very happy. '...you have been doing nothing about this? You didn't stop them from going up to a stormy roof?'

'What – no, dad, it's not like that!' I tried, ignoring the big smirk on Taurus' face for me being in trouble. 'I didn't even know they were out –'

'You didn't know?' dad repeated. 'Does the word brothers mean anything to you?' 'O-Of course, but I just didn't r-really know,' I mumbled. Great excuse, Libra.

Our father closed his eyes again and sighed deeply, before he turned his back on me and said to my brothers: 'Taurus, Sagittarius, go back to your rooms. I'll talk to you once I'm done talking to your brother.'

Things surely weren't looking good for me, especially since I knew how dad could be when he was angry. And also because I knew how he could be when I disappointed him. I waited for the sound of two doors closing, and looked up to dad, who was looking back at me. He sighed again, before he turned around and started pacing up and down the living room.

'Lib, I'm worried about you. You're... behaving quite strangely, lately. Especially for someone with your easy character.'

I calmly waited for him to continue, although my calm wouldn't last for much longer. Dad went on: 'You know Taurus and Sagittarius can be a bit... outraging. You are their brother, Libra, and I expect you to –' 'And what if I don't want to do whatever you want?' I said, instead of letting him finish.

'What if I don't want to be a good brother to them? What if I don't want to share everything with them? What if I don't want to be the person who is always used as an example of a good human being?'

'Libra, you're screaming,' dad said softly, as I realized the same thing. 'Well, perhaps that is what I intended to do,' I said, this time raising my voice on purpose. 'Libra, listen –' dad started, but I stopped him another time: 'No, dad, listen to me. I don't want to be the innocent little guy who always does everything right anymore, and if that bothers you, fine. Don't blame me for my brother's actions, just – just leave me alone for now.'

My heart must've been beating like crazy, but I didn't care. I ignored my father's "Libra, stay here!" and walked out of the living room, out of our apartment, until I was standing in the hall with no idea of where to go.

Although, I had one idea.

     Aquarius' pov

'That indeed does sound like a weird story,' I said, when Libra finally stopped talking and looked to me for an opinion. He just nodded, before he sighed and started pacing through the living room again.

When Libra came here, about an hour ago, I had no idea what to expect. He looked furious – which he was – but he kept reason and after I pushed him to it, he told me the story. He started on the roof story, but went over to this morning when I said I already knew that part. Of course, the girls and I had discussed everything amply, along with everything that could happen, but I hadn't expected Libra to be so upset about it. Coming back at that one; perhaps I had.

'...and now everyone I have left hates me,' Libra mumbled. He'd sat down on my bed, gazing at the wall with the blank stare I'd seen before. 'It's all my fault, anyway. I should've kept more contact with Sag and Taurus, but I just –'

He closed his eyes, before leaning back until his back hit the wall. 'I just can't help it. I don't know why I'm even jealous of them, it's not like I want to be like them, or like anyone here, but... I guess I'm envious because they fit in here, and I don't.'

I waited a few seconds, thinking to myself and waiting for him to calm down a bit, before I started talking. 'Look, I hate to say this, mainly because I've said it way too many times to almost everyone here, but I think you're pretty much overreacting. Alright, it's kind of true that you're not exactly the fit-in type around here –' Libra looked up with an offended look in his eyes, but I went on: '– but neither am I, neither is Pisces, neither is Cancer and if you look at it that way, Virgo isn't really the adventurous type either. I'm going to tell you the same thing someone told me back when I was breaking down, and I know you're going to hate it, but please listen to it.'

I stood up from the chair I was sitting on, across the room, and walked up to Libra, who was still watching me from his position on the bed. I sat down again, trying to ignore the obvious loudly beating of my heart, and I got my eyes serious.

'All you have to do, and you really have to, is embrace what's coming at you, don't question anything, try to stay neutral in the fight between Leo and Aries and if you can't, pick the right side.' 'What side?' he asked me, but I shook my head. 'What did I say? Don't question it. Just embrace it, and you'll find out. Lastly, and most importantly; don't be yourself. Don't be like anyone. Be completely random, and you'll know who to be.'

It was silent for a moment, a moment in which Libra was just staring at me and I was staring back at him. His eyes were searching in mine, searching for something to cling onto, but for now, all he had was my words, and he wouldn't find anything else. If he wanted more information – which he wouldn't get, as I knew the others – he shouldn't be looking into my eyes. If he wanted more information, he should get out and do as I said. I stared back at him, careful not to give anything away. And I wouldn't; believe me as I tell you I'm a master at closing up. And it seemed to be working, Libra's look became softer and understanding, and I finally felt something of relieve – but then he stood up.

'I already know who to be.' Libra looked away as he walked up to the door, his back still on me. 'I know you're trying to help, but you can't. I'm a wimp, and your words can't change it. And neither can my actions.'

'Your actions can change everything,' I stated as I stood up myself. 'Your actions can make you different, which you need to be if you want to fit in.' 'I never said anything about wanting to be different,' said Libra. 'And neither do I want your help anymore. Coming here was a stupid idea; I bet Taurus would've told me the exact same things.'

I felt the heat of my blood raising up to my head, and I decided I'd stayed helpful long enough. 'Fine, then. I won't help you anymore, just figure it out on your own, because apparently, you don't need anyone caring about you.' I knew I should stop, but I really couldn't once I started. 'You really are a wimp.'

I noticed a slight change in the way he was standing – he shrank in a little, not much – before he turned around, this time a different, harder look locked in his first calm eyes. 'Thankfully we can agree on one thing.'

He was holding in, obviously. And I wanted everything out.

'You know, it's true you didn't have a great first impression when I met you, but I thought you could make it up. I thought – no, I hoped you'd live in to this place and become your real self, but apparently, this is it. You see what's going on, and you do nothing about it.'

I breathed in slowly, waiting for him to take the small opportunity I was giving him. But he seemed to be doing the same, and as I kept waiting, he turned around again and opened the door; enough for me to yell my last sentence.

'Sure, go. Please don't thank me for trying to help you, or anything. Gee, I'm sure glad I'm not one of your brothers – who indeed do deserve to be real Chaos Survivors – because I certainly wouldn't be able to deal with your – your feelings, or what it might be –'

'Don't speak of my feelings as if you know what they are!' Libra screamed out all of a sudden, scaring the absolute crap out of me. As an intuitional move, I stepped back, and I watched his expression change from extreme anger to sudden fright as he backed off against the door.

We stood in front of each other for seconds, no longer than that, as he was first to make a move. Libra moved a little further away from the door, and the look on his face changed from fright to something that seemed like... guilt?

'S-Sorry for that,' he mumbled, and cleared his throat. 'I just – everything's messed up, this wasn't how it was supposed to go. Dad would just take us to a "nice place right around the corner", where Taurus would go find a small job instead of having water gun fights, and Sag would be studying for upcoming school, instead of eating that pizzetthi-thing they created.'

'I'm sorry, too,' I said, and I was surprised to feel I actually meant it. 'I shouldn't have lost my temper that quickly, especially as I'm the one who has dealt with Aries before.' 'Believe me, Taurus can get just as hot-headed,' Libra fell in and I chuckled softly. He smiled back at me, and just when the butterflies in my belly began to fly again, the door slammed open and an annoyed looking Capricorn appeared in the opening.

'Wow, you two really do fill each other up with your boringness. I could hear you from in my room – what are you, an old married couple?' Cap snorted, and immediately continued on: 'I'm gonna declare my undying love for Gem again. Wish me luck, I have a feeling it might work this time.'

My brother left just as fast and unexpected as he came, and the fainting sounds of his footsteps were followed by the sound of the front door mere seconds later.

Libra flashed me an uncomfortable look, probably still from Cap's remark about us being married, and I decided we might have spent enough time in here, so I offered to watch a show or something and he agreed. As Lib tried to put up Netflix on the horrible Wi-Fi up here, I moved over to the kitchen to find us popcorn.

However, both of us were interrupted when the front door sounded again, and I rushed towards the hallway to see whoever it was, although I was really hoping it to be Lee.

It was Gemini. Wearing a white wedding dress – all white, except for a mysterious looking spot on her side.

After a few seconds of letting bizarre thoughts enter my mind as they tried to convince me of at least a hundred different theories – of which about half included Capricorn, naturally – I got used to the fact that Gemini was wearing a wedding dress and now standing in front of my door, waiting for me to do something. So, I coughed a few times, made sure the sarcastic remark I had in mind would sound just as great in real life, and I threw it out.

'Well, nothing can surprise me anymore these days. Now, anything peculiar going on lately, dear sister-in-law?' 'Seeing the fact you were there yesterday, not really,' she responded and grinned widely. I flicked my gaze back to her dress, and decided to play along a little longer. 'So, I suppose it's my turn to do the vows, hm? Let's see what I've got; dear friends and family, I've known Gemini and Capricorn as long as I can remember –'

'Alright, as fun as this was, I have something interesting you might be, well, interested in,' Gem interrupted me, and this time, I grinned. 'If it doesn't explain the dress-story, there's a major chance I'm still going to make fun of it.'

Gemini huffed, but quickly started talking: 'Well, Pisces was cleaning our room and she needed a place to put all of my stuff, so she went up to our mum's old room and stashed it there. That's where she found our mum's wedding dress, and since she and I have the same measurements, I had to try it on. Of course it fitted – Pisces and Cancer were so jealous. They still are, actually – I mean, look how shiny and perfect! Except for that small spot where I dropped my pizzetthi, but anyway...'

She shook her head and looked at me with one of her goofy smirks. 'Aries and I had the most amazing idea ever. If you want to hear the story of how we got onto that, you'll have to wait, because the idea is even better than the story of it. At first, we decided to have a party tonight, with everyone here! Then, we got back to the dress concept and Pisces brought up sleeping in this dress, and that caused us to make the party a slumber party!'

I couldn't help but laugh softly, not at her, but with her. I couldn't help it; she just looked so silly in the wedding dress, telling me stories and making wild gestures.

'So Pisces' words about sleeping in a wedding dress lead to a slumber party?' I asked, and Gemini nodded. 'Yes! And they also lead to a bet between me and Sag; if I can't climb the giant tree in front of the flat with the shoes that go with this dress, I must keep the whole outfit on until morning light.'

'How great,' I said, and meanwhile my brain started overthinking her idea. 'So, a party you said?' 'A slumber party! With...' She hesitated, then breathed in. 'Okay, hold up: me, Aries, Pisces, Cap, Sag, Virgo, Taurus, Cancer and you, if you're available.'

'Eh, sure,' I responded, quite overwhelmed yet not at all surprised by Gemini's quick speaking. 'But what about Libra?'

Gemini frowned, and I couldn't help but notice how even this serious look didn't change her childish face, even though she was about 16. 'Well, we didn't invite him because first, he's a wimp, second, he's not a Chaos Survivor, third, his brothers stated multiple times how they didn't want him to be there, fourth –'

'Is this going on for much longer?' I asked, and I tried to sound irritated to cover up how I hated to hear all this negative stuff about Lib. Gemini, however, shook her head and her expression turned back to smiling again. 'Nope, just one more: we couldn't find him anywhere. But, eh...'

I think she was trying to get her frown back on, but it failed and she went on softly: 'I actually thought you'd flip over the fact we didn't invite Leo instead of Libra.'

For a second, my thoughts didn't work – but thankfully it was just a second. 'What? Right; I mean – why didn't you invite Lee?' I asked her, and I felt a warm color rise to my cheeks. Luckily Gemini didn't notice, and answered my question instead: 'Well, we're kind of overthinking about in which apartment it'll be. Probably in our, and since there's a strict "No-Furface" pact, it's impossible for her to come.'

'We can also just have it in my apartment,' I offered, and I immediately regretted my decision. Not only was I willing to take both Leo and Aries into my apartment, I also had to take in Gemini, Pisces, Cancer, Virgo, the three boys and Cap, but he wouldn't be much of a problem. Hopefully.

It certainly was a mistake to invite ten people – of which nine Chaos Survivors – to my apartment. The moment Cap heard it, he freaked out ('And you're telling me only now? Do you realize we don't have any  food here? Ugh, I'll take Gem and Sag to Cancer's store and we'll buy about a hundred packets of chips.') and I must say, I wasn't really relaxed at all either.

'Where are we even going to sleep? Can we fit ten matrasses into the living room without breaking anything? Should the boys even sleep in the same room with the girls? Would it fit at all –'

'Aqua, dear, as always, it'll be just fine.' Leo smiled and put her arm around me, as she pulled me over to the other side of the living room and spread her arms, gesturing over to different places as she spoke. 'We'll put five matrasses on that side, where the table is right now. We can move the table over to your kitchen, because we won't need that anyway. The other six matrasses can fit right here, which will be perfect because like that, the TV is exactly in the center and no one will have to argue about anything.' She stopped talking, and her arms fell down to her side. 'It just means that the outer matrasses will be right next to each other, so one girl will have to sleep next to a boy.'

'I just hope one of the girls from no. 25 will offer it themselves, otherwise people are gonna whine I have to lay next to Cap just because we're siblings,' I groaned and walked up to the other side of the room again.

I turned back to Lee, who was still looking around and softly muttering things to herself. Gosh, was I glad I'd asked her to help me instead of Cancer. Sure, Cancer had about the same qualities as Leo when it came to design and stuff, but since Cancer knew about the whole Libra-thing, it would be extremely uncomfortable and besides, Lee was my best friend after all.

She'd helped me going by every single apartment, to tell everyone what they needed to bring. Virgo immediately stated he'd bring movies, food under which pizzetthi and cereal, and he would have about three matrasses if needed extra. Cancer said about the same, but it was harder with the three girls. Gem opened up, and before Lee or I could even say anything, she'd started telling the story of how she and Aries came to the idea of a party. Halfway, Aries fell in and they started arguing over whether it was Aries or Gemini who'd actually came up with the whole deal. Luckily, we met Pisces in the hallway, who told us they'd take care of everything we asked.

I think it was about half past five when the first ones came. Lee and I were just watching Netflix – with a lot of Leo's commentary on how cute most of the guys were – and Capricorn basically kicked down the door as he stormed into the room, followed by Sagittarius and Gemini, with the message they'd be in his room playing Mario Kart.

About a quarter later, just when I got used to the loud sounds from Cap's room, Aries and Taurus came in and the five of them got settled on the couch, while Leo insisted on going to my room.

It took about another hour for the last four to come, Cancer happily greeting us with a self-made quiche – which meant it was a quiche made either by Pisces or Virgo, or in the best case, by both – and it really became very busy inside. While Virgo and Cap started on dinner, the others and I settled down in the room and decided over the grouping of the matrasses.

'I'm definitely not sleeping somewhere close to Tiny Dwarf,' Leo huffed when Aries went over to the kitchen. 'That means we can't have boys and girls exactly divided,' said Cancer. 'I made a small list, if everyone can agree; I'm lying next to the left wall, Pisces next to me, Virgo next to her, Gem next to Pisces, Aries next to her sister, Taurus next to her, then Sagittarius next to him, Libra next to Sag, Capricorn next to him and Aquarius and Leo on the right side.'

'Sounds like a plan,' I said, and my voice was followed by other sounds of agreeing. Cancer smiled and walked over to the kitchen.

'Alright, if you guys can get the matrasses from your apartment,' Cancer told the two brothers, 'then Aries, Pisces and Gem will go do the same. That's six – Aqua, can you get the matrasses from your and Capricorn's room? Leo –' 'No problem, C,' Leo smiled and swiftly walked through the room to the hall, glancing at Aries when she walked in. Gemini immediately jumped up, grabbed Pisces arm and dragged her towards the hall, together with Aries, all the while screaming; 'Come on, you two! Let's get our stuff and all the food I hogged from Sag's kitchen!'

Sagittarius turned back to us, grinned sheepishly, and said: 'Well, there's no use in repeating that sentence, as I planned, so let me adjust it a bit...' He turned over to Taurus and Libra, and started – just as Gemini had: 'Come on, you two! Let's get our stuff and steal back all the food Gem hogged from our kitchen!'

'Yeah!' Taurus smirked and followed his younger brother up to the hallway. After some hesitating, Libra followed them too, leaving us with nothing more than just a look towards us.

'So,' Cancer interrupted the silence between the three of us, 'I suppose I'll go get my stuff too?' It sounded as a question, and it probably was meant to be one, but she left without waiting for an answer, leaving me and Leo alone in the room.

I quickly noticed Lee staring at me with one of her familiar big smiles – which probably meant she was proud of me. And indeed.

'Aqua, darling, look at you! About a month ago, this would've stressed everything out of you if your brother had done something similar, and now you're planning it yourself! What happened to you?'

I had the strong urge to say "nothing", or just to say nothing, but that would absolutely give me away. Leo knew me, she'd start hearing me out right away and it'd work. She'd find out how I told things to Cancer, she'd hear out Cancer, get angry at me for not telling her I had an amazing, huge crush on Libra –

But Leo didn't even give me the chance to do anything. 'It must be that trip to Scotland you had. After all, being with just Capricorn for about two weeks must've driven you to the end, hm? Oh, I'm just kidding.'

She smiled and hugged me tightly, as she whispered into my ear: 'And even if you get stressed out, I'll promise you; everything will be fine.'

I closed my eyes, and softly nuzzled my head into her thin shirt as I wondered if things really would be fine.

     Capricorn's pov

After everyone had settled down their stuff exactly where Cancer wanted, and we'd eaten the meal me and Virgo had prepared (Aquarius: 'Takeaway pizza. Let me guess, Cap's idea?'), we voted over what to do next. The fact we were with less boys than girls didn't quite help Leo's plan to watch a sappy romance movie – it was her, Q, Pisces and Cancer against the rest of us.

'Mario Kart!' Gem yelled. 'Yeah, let's have a big match!' I shouted right after her, to which Aries responded: 'Alright, but then one of the movie-voters has to join in with us, because –' 'Oh, of course,' Leo interrupted. 'Everything has to be just as you want, hm? It doesn't matter what others think, no, Aries has to get everything just the way she planned.'

'This should be good,' I whispered to Gemini next to me, who nodded when Aries' expression turned angry. 'Hey, you wanna take it up against Furface when Aries is done with her?' Gem whispered back. I suppressed a grin and nodded, while Aries took it away.

'Well, Furface, it seems you've obviously gotten into your head once again, because as I recall, you've just described yourself, not me. And by the way, I only said that because otherwise we won't have even numbers to play.'

'Yeah, Furface,' Gemini fell in the second Aries stopped talking.

'Yeah, why would you do such a thing, Furface,' I copied her, and we softly snickered when Leo groaned.

'Oh, you two again. I suppose you're not going to quit things, are you? Well, if I may please, I hope I may at least attend your wedding. Wasn't that the reason we got together tonight, to bind you two in holy matrimony?' 'No, we got together to make fun of you,' Gem responded, at which Leo snorted again.

'Such a pity excuse. Try not deny it, sweety, I can see you're all dressed for it.' 'I lost a bet, alright! Why don't you try to climb a tree with wedding shoes!' yelled Gemini, furiously picking at the side of the white dress she was still wearing.

I only slightly noticed Aries walking by as she started talking to either Q or Cancer – because I was too busy trying to have a comeback before Leo could have one. 'At least she gets to wear one, Furface. The only time you'll wear something sort-like will be when you wear your bridesmaid dress, because I can't picture anyone who'd want to marry you.'

Gemini chuckled evilly when Leo let out a high-pitched "oh!" and from the other side of the room, we heard people raising their voice too. To my surprise, it wasn't Q who was defending either Leo or herself, but Cancer who was yelling at Aries for... what?

Something wasn't right.

It seemed I'd been distracted for a second too long, because a pillow hit my head, and when I looked up again, I noticed Gemini in squat position as she'd avoided Leo's pillow. She grinned widely to me before picking the thing up and smashing it back to Leo, while on my right side, I heard other things going on.

Left to me, Aqua was silently hiding behind Cancer, who was keeping off Aries' words and on my right, I now saw, Taurus and Libra were caught up in a heated discussion. I only caught a few words, such as "insane" or "traitor", but that was all I could hear, because when Sagittarius fell in too, it became impossible to hear anything.

Even though I'd gladly go on and insult Leo, something odd was going on with this discussion – and I knew what that meant. Odd things always lead to chaos.

Another pillow whizzed past my head and I quickly turned back to where it came from. Gemini was standing on the couch next to me, dodging Leo's pillows while screaming insults about – well, Leo. Meanwhile, Taurus had started yelling too, same with Sag and I even heard Libra's voice rise. Sure, I could guess what was going on with them; the thing I had no clue about was the thing between Aqua, Cancer and –

'YOU LITTLE WITCH!' Aries' voice bellowed through the room, and it was that moment I decided to ignore anything else and calm down with throwing myself back into the moment.

'Hey, Furface! Even if you could manage to control hypnotic powers and bewitch a guy to marry you, you might want to wear something red on your wedding!' I screamed over to others. 'Fits great with your period!'

Leo cried out in anger and smacked another pillow to my head. Luckily, I caught it and tried to throw it back, wasn't it for something solid bumping into me and I stumbled, as I fell half onto the couch and my pillow hit Aries' head. I quickly pointed at Leo when the angered girl turned around, and as I did, I noticed what had bumped into me. I excused myself to Gemini and smoothly jumped around Leo – who scowled at me – Aries – who scowled at Leo – Cancer – who comforted Q – and Aqua herself – who was comforted by Cancer.

I reached the hallway and noticed the open front door, which assured me of what I'd seen, and I quickly walked outside.

'Hey – Libra?'

He stood right in front of his apartment, hand on the doorknob and back to me. I only saw his face when he opened the door, stepped inside and with an almost hurt-looking expression, he looked at me before he closed the door.
