Epilogue
Scorpio's pov
'...and down there, that's the place to go when you lose something,' Cancer said, pointing over to a red door, which she told me led to the basement. 'It's pretty nasty, so Aries and Leo use it to dump each other's stuff all the time.' 'Those two really do hate each other, don't they?' I chuckled, earning a soft laugh back. 'Yeah. You actually did a pretty good thing, uniting them like that last week. They've only been like that years back.'
'Still not too proud of that, though,' I sighed, and Cancer nodded in understanding. 'I know. And, now that we're on that subject anyway, there's still something you have to do.' I only knew what she was talking about when she dragged me over to the large tree outside, which contained at least half of the residents of the building in it, and it had both Virgo and Pisces sitting at the foot.
Cancer nudged my stomach softly, at which I sighed, and made my way over to the tree, causing the two to look up. 'Hi,' I started, noticing very clearly how awkward I was making it. Behind me, I heard Cancer sigh softly and give me a little push in the back. I bit my lower lip, decided not to care about anything that'd happen and spoke the words I knew Cancer wanted me to say.
'I'm... sorry,' I mumbled. 'For the things I did, especially to you two. I know I shouldn't have done those things, but I did, and well, I'm really sorry about it.'
Pisces muttered something silent before moving closer to Virgo, who smiled slightly and responded audibly: 'It's okay. We all do things we regret, and every one of us had been forgiven for those things.' His eyebrows slightly lowered a bit, before he continued: 'However, I do have to admit I still don't like you for what you did to Pisces.' 'That's okay,' I quickly reacted, smiling sadly. 'I don't really like myself either for that.'
Virgo smiled back, as he stood up and put his hand on my shoulder. 'All you have to do for now is keep things up, and you'll be fine. But, I think we've all been here long enough. Are those two over there done arguing about the plate?'
He nodded over to the big red doors, the front door of the building, where Leo and Aries were loudly discussing who could get the big thing down.
'Don't you think I'm letting you do this again, Furface,' Aries shouted.
'Well, it'll take hours before you can even get to there, Dwarf,' Leo yelled back.
Virgo looked over to Pisces, Cancer and I, before sighing and making his way over to them, shushing both and getting the plate down himself. '
'Alright, Cancer, if you can get the others out of the tree?' he called back, at which she nodded and turned her head upwards. 'Come on out, guys! We're starting the Ceremony!' she yelled, and quickly stepped aside to prevent Gemini from crushing her. I chuckled softly, and sat down next to Cancer, who smiled back at me as we waited for the others to get ready.
Libra's pov
The moment everyone had settled down, Aries was the only one left standing, holding the plate proudly in her hands. 'Alright, goofs. I'm not even going to try, so, Virgo –' 'I'm on it,' Virgo responded, getting up from his spot next to me and walked over to Aries, before clearing his throat and gazing over to us.
'Welcome to the Chaos Flat. That's the message on this plate, a message that may or may not have different meanings to all of us. This place is a home, a haven, a place where you will always be welcome. So, please, be welcome.'
He nodded once, before Capricorn jumped up and started talking on from that: 'And, of course, this beautiful speech would be nothing without any wise words from me, Capricorn the Terrible.' He grinned widely, coughed, and spoke up again: 'So, imagine you have to pee really bad...'
'You're never going to let that one go, won't you?' groaned Aquarius, who, despite the laughter around, pushed him down and stood up herself, but she hadn't even said one word or Aries already stopped her.
'You know what, this is taking long enough. I still have to prove to Gem that you can't break your legs when jumping down the tree from three meters high, so let's get on with this.'
She cleared her throat, and silence took over again.
'Alright; Scorpio, step forward, please.'
I turned my head to see him stand up. He clearly didn't look very nervous, but I knew he probably had a lot of practice with that. Virgo held out the marker and Aries lifted the plate, which was followed by the words I heard her say twice before.
'Now, you must first promise to never be afraid of the unexpected, and to break all the possible rules we've made for this flat. And that, no matter your height, you will always be a part of the Chaos Flat and with that, a true Chaos Survivor.'
'Is the height part necessary?' Scorpio asked, and when Aries stubbornly nodded, he smiled and repeated: 'I promise I'll never be afraid of the unexpected, I will break every rule you have made for this place, and, no matter my height, I will always be a part of the Chaos Flat and with that, a true Chaos Survivor.'
'Congrats,' Aries smirked, 'then hereby, you may now put your name on this awesome plate.' I couldn't really see it, but I was pretty sure he was grinning, when Scorpio took the marker from Virgo's hand and wrote "Scorpio" next to Taurus' name, in fairly neat letters. When he took a step back, Cap started whistling and everyone applauded. Everyone, including me.
'Alright, Libra,' yelled Aries, and within a second, everything silenced down again, while Scorpio made his way back, 'step forward.'
No lies; my heart was beating in my throat when I walked passed Scorpio, who smiled as I walked by, and over to Aries, who looked me dead in the eye.
'Alright, the same goes for you: you must promise to never be afraid of the unexpected, and to break all the possible rules we've made for this flat. And that, no matter your height, you will always be a part of the Chaos Flat and with that, a true Chaos Survivor.'
I nodded shortly, breathed in, and started to repeat her words: 'I will never be afraid of the unexpected, and I will break every possible rule you made for this place. And, no matter my height, I will always be a part of the Chaos Flat, and a true Chaos Survivor.'
'Good job, Lib!' Sag's voice yelled somewhere behind me, or perhaps it was only in the back of my mind. I took the black marker from Virgo's hand and leaned forward, careful to write in readable letters. When the marker left the plate, I heard Taurus yell something, Sag yelling along, and soon, I couldn't hear one person who wasn't cheering, or applauding, or – in Gemini's case – hanging upside down from a large stick on the tree, screaming along with everyone else.
I took a step back and studied the plate with a smile, and I felt as if the message on it would only from this moment on really mean something to me.
Welcome to the Chaos Flat.
