...but friends do

     Libra's pov

The only sounds echoing through our living room, were the sounds of Taurus' sighs and our father's cutlery against his plate, while Sag and I both just stared around the room. It was the second day after we moved – or perhaps even the third. I'd kind of lost track of time throughout the days.

Dad had prepared dinner today, a small steak for each of us with his homemade fries on the side. Something we always ate with pleasure, but today, it just felt like a filler. Mum had gone out before dinner, stating she was dropping by at a friends' house, or something, and we were left once again with just our father and the three of us.

'Now, that's what I call a great meal. Unfortunately for you, I'm not doing the dishes for the third time in a row, so it's up to you three.' Dad winked at us, before he got up and left the room for the hallway. 'And don't you dare making Sagittarius do all the work again!' his voice yelled from upstairs, seconds later, and with a sigh, I got up. 'Come on, guys. They aren't going to clean themselves,' I muttered, stacking our dirty plates as I moved over to the kitchen, my brothers following me closely.

Taurus grunted something under his breath, as he dumped the pans on the counter and got the soap from under said counter. 'I would've called this unfair if he indeed hadn't done the dishes yesterday,' he huffed, earning an agreeing hum from Sag. 'Yeah, dad is right. Maybe we really haven't done much last days.' 'That's not our fault,' Taurus responded, 'he's the one who thought it was a great idea to take us away from our motivation.'

Sag repeated his sigh, but neither of us responded and like that, silence took over again. I had no idea what my brothers were thinking – although, maybe I had some ideas – but I was completely lost in my thoughts about... well, could I be thinking about something else than the past month? Sure, I couldn't think of the Chaos Flat the same way as my brothers did, but still – was it wrong to say that the old building was actually... important to me?

It wasn't wrong. Of course the place meant something to me, but it wasn't the building itself. It were the people living there.

It wasn't hard to remember the days we met them – and with them, I mean everyone, of course. The three sister from next to us had definitely left a mark; not only on Taurus, who still seemed slightly obsessed with Aries, but also on Sag, I noticed. He never had really true friends either, just like me, but I had to admit, it was great to see him get enthusiastic anytime Gemini came by to play Mario Kart. And well, then there was Pisces, who I still didn't really know anything about. Except for the fact she was dating Virgo...

A whole lot more memories came to mind when Virgo popped up, and I truly hoped I could see him another time to apologize for everything I'd caused, especially for him having to take him Sagittarius. And, actually, I wanted to see him again because it'd be nice to learn some of the stuff he was talking about before. Chaos, perhaps, and the others in the Flat, such as...

I turned away a bit more from my brothers in an awkward attempt to hide the blush that grew on my cheeks. Aquarius. I should probably stop lying to myself, because Taurus was right before; she had indeed caught my attention – or, to just come clear, yes, I had a crush on her. Me, Libra, who always stayed isolated from everyone, who never really liked anyone, who would rather just stay inside and sulk about life and –

'Guys,' Sag said out of nowhere, and I thanked him silently, because he stopped my thoughts right before they were going crazy. 'We... we will be able to get back to the Chaos Flat, right? I mean, dad can't keep us here forever... right?'

'I don't know, Sag,' muttered Taurus, who passed me a clean plate. 'He seems pretty stubborn to me.' 'So that's who you got it from,' I reacted, earning a chuckle back. 'But no, seriously. School is about to start in, what, another two weeks? No way dad is letting us go back now.'

'What are you two talking about?' I dumped the plate on the table, noticing how both of them stopped doing their things and had turned their attention towards me. 'Where are my brotherly spirits who would never give up, who would make plans containing every single letter of the alphabet and work through it? Are you really just going to sit here, and wait for everything to be alright?'

'Eh... no?' asked Sag, with a frowning look at our older brother. Taurus himself sighed, and folded his arms. 'Lib, look, I see where you're going, but...'

'No but's, Taurus,' I stated. 'Aren't you motivated to go back? Isn't there anything in that place that lights a burning fire in you?'

'Well,' Sag started, softly, 'I did have a really great time over there. And... and I kind of miss playing Mario Kart with Gem and Cap... and eating pizzetthi...'

'Yeah...' Taurus added, but instead of continuing, he looked down to the ground, his face redder than mine before. 'I... I really have to tell you guys something I should've probably told you before.' He lifted his head, gazing towards the door. 'It's... about Aries.'

'Oh, about the fact that you totally have a crush on her?' Sag innocently asked, and he turned his head to me. 'Yeah, Libra told me about that.' 'Wha- Libra! That was private!' hissed Taurus, at which I grinned and shrugged, to which Tau quickly moved back to our brother. 'Well, then you should also know that Libra is totally in love with Aquarius.' 'Really?' Sag squealed, moving his hands to his cheeks. 'This is so great! I have to tell Gemini so that we can make ship names for you!'

Taurus and I exchanged a look, before both nodding; something that meant "we'll-stop-him-when-the-time-is-right". 'Anyway,' Tau continued, 'in fact, it was about Aries. We...' He stopped again, but this time, he looked straight at me instead of looking away. 'We have been dating for... awhile.'

'Really?' squeaked Sag, now jumping up and down. 'That's so amazing! Do any of the others know?' 'They don't, so I'd appreciate if you'd keep this a secret,' Taurus said and with those words, the red color on his cheeks turned a little less red. 'We won't tell a thing,' I promised, 'considering the fact we probably won't see them in a while...'

It turned silent again, something I really started to hate – probably something I picked up at the Chaos Flat. Silence never was a good thing.

The door flung open out of nowhere, and dad walked in with a big smile on his face. 'How's the dishes going, boys? The sooner you finish, the sooner we can continue our awesome-movie-marathon we started, but never really finished,' he laughed, and turned around to walk away again. 'Next up is The Matrix, if it helps. You guys should definitely see that one.' 'Didn't we watch that one at the sleepover, with Capricorn?' Sag whispered to Taurus, who nodded slowly. 'Yeah... maybe it's time we listen to Lib for once, and do something about this.' 'About time,' I mumbled, and followed the two to the living room.

'Dad, listen –' started Sagittarius, but he was interrupted by the front door and the sound of our mother walking in. She smiled widely when the door to the living room opened yet another time, and moved over to us, her expression still creepily happy.

'I have a surprise for you,' she giggled, and before any of us could continue, we already saw what it was.

'You didn't even say goodbye!' shouted Gemini, sprinting in as she almost murdered Sag in a hug-of-death. 'Yeah, what she said,' Aries stated, walking in a bit slower than her sister. She hesitated for a second, before walking over to Taurus and hugging him as well, making my brother look even more like a giant tomato than he did before.

'Wow, you guys really have a nice place to live,' a familiar voice said, as Aquarius walked in with a smile and slightly waved over to me, while Leo followed her, stuck in a discussion with Cancer and Cap. 'H-Hey, Libra.' 'Hi,' I responded, maybe a little too happy.

'Jeez, Q, it seems you're right for once,' Capricorn said, gazing around the living room, as his stare caught onto the TV. 'You guys still have Mario Kart, right?'

'I don't think that's their main priority, Capricorn,' Virgo chuckled, walking in with Pisces clinging onto his right on, and he nodded politely towards our father. 'Good evening, sir. Apologies for our unexpected visit.'

'You don't have to apologize,' our mother giggled, 'I invited you! You are more than welcome here.' 'Wait,' Taurus said, a slight frown playing on his forehead, 'you went over to the Flat?' 'But... why?' Sag asked. 'I thought we'd established you didn't want us living there.'

'Honey, that's just your dad's decision,' mum smiled. 'Even though I had my thoughts at first, I thought it might be good to check out where exactly you'd been living. Sure, I still had the same thoughts when I saw the building, but then this young lady –' Pisces smiled shyly and hid a bit more behind Virgo, ' – took me upstairs to meet everyone.' She turned to dad, crossing her arms as she put up a frown. 'You didn't tell me their neighbors were living there without their parents.' 'I didn't even know we had neighbors,' responded dad, and he scratched the back of his head. 'But, do you really live in that junk without your parents present?'

'Yes! And we can do that too, because we're not even half as crazy as they are!' Sag yelled, followed by Taurus' agreeing words. 'He has a point, dad, I think we've proven that we can be able to live there without you two. And, well, we really do enjoy it over there.' 'They're right,' I muttered, which somehow gained me the attention of everyone in the room. 'Even though I missed most of it, we really did have a great time. So... maybe it's time for you to let us go.'

My words weren't followed by a complete silence, because Aries and Taurus were whispering things to one another, Gem and Cap were humming William Overture and Leo was trying to silently move around the room, studying every single bit. Let's just say, the remaining silence there was, was quickly broken by the same door that led to this room.

'Thank you for letting me use your bathroom, ma'am,' said Scorpio politely, after which he turned over to us and smiled a small smile. 'Hey, guys.'

'See, Scorpio is a nice example,' Sag stated, pointing over to where said-one was standing. 'He can live in the Chaos Flat, all by himself, with just the others around him and no parents at all!' 'Actually,' Scorpio corrected him, 'my mum still wants to come by once and a while – just to check, you know...'

'Just like I will do once you guys have moved back there,' mum smiled, and it took a while before the three of us realized what she meant. 'Wait, so – so we can actually...' Taurus started, and Sag continued with big eyes: 'We can go back to the Chaos Flat?'

'I don't know,' dad answered, still frowning, and he turned over to our mother with a sigh. 'Alice...' 'Don't you "Alice" me, Bob,' mum responded, folding her arms yet again. 'They are old enough to live by themselves, even if there weren't any other people around them to help. Besides, what could go wrong?'

'Don't say that too loudly, ' I chuckled. 'Last time I said it, basically everything went wrong.' 'I'm sure that won't happen again, sweety,' our mother smiled. 'At least, if your father agrees as well?'

If it wasn't silent before, it definitely was so now. Our mum was still smiling widely in front of us, on my right, Sag was hanging onto both Gemini and Capricorn, with both of his hands, on my left Taurus was hugging Aries tighter than before, and I was just hoping for the answer everyone was hoping for.

Until he finally sighed.

'Alright.'

I don't think I've ever heard so much cheering. The three geeks on my right were practically touching the ceiling with their jumps, Leo, Aqua and Cancer were applauding, Taurus' grin was wider than ever and well, so was mine, I guess. I didn't quite pay attention to our parents leaving the room, but I did pay attention to the conversations that started after everyone finally calmed down. Taurus settled down with Virgo, Aries and Cancer, and Sagittarius ran over to the others, but I walked to the only person standing alone.

'So, your dad let you stay in the Flat as well?' I asked Scorpio, who smiled and nodded. 'Yeah. Quite a lot of things happened back there, when you guys were gone. Leo even upgraded me to Chaos Survivor, in the meantime. But well, I'm pretty sure you'll catch up with all of it.' 'I think so too,' I laughed, and watched the others. 'And, you know what?' said Scorpio, and I never could've agreed more with any other words said.

'I think I've learned more in the past few days, than in my entire lifetime.'
