Up for School

     Gemini's pov

'Morning, Pisces! My, how beautiful you look already on this beautiful new day!'

I didn't know whether it was because I was yelling or because I was barely an inch away from her, but Pisces looked pretty startled when she opened her eyes.

'G-Gemstone... I told you not to do that, I have an alarm...' she muttered and attempted to turn away, but I grabbed her shoulders and softly shook her. 'Come on! You had to wake up early, it's the first day of school, after all!'

'That's today?' she responded faintly, and as she groaned softly and turned over to her alarm, I left her be and descended the room. One of the many things I loved about sharing a room with Pisces: she wouldn't yell and throw anything in her reach at my head when I woke her up early, like a certain other person would do. And, speaking of that certain person –

'Good morning, Aries! Isn't today just the most lovely day to go to that beloved school of ours again?' I sang, skipping into the kitchen, where my other sister was staring back at me with a look that could've easily been from death itself.

'Gem. No,' stated Aries, turning to grab her coffee from the counter as she walked past me towards the living room. I shrugged it off easily, and followed her with the same smile still on my face. 'Well, you look a lot more tired than Pisces. Did you sleep at all last night?'

'I slept... fine,' she answered, followed by a yawn and a spill of her coffee. I made a soft noise that sounded like "tch" and moved back to the kitchen, seeking any kind of cloth to clean up the hot coffee on the floor, when I remembered something I'd wanted to tell her.

'Hey, Aries, when are you going to restore that hole in your wall?' I asked her, rubbing the small cloth over the floor. My question didn't seem to land well – my sister spat out the coffee in her mouth, and started coughing as if she was dying. 'Are you done spilling coffee all over the place?' I chuckled, at which she groaned something I couldn't understand, and looked away. 'Actually, as long as that hole isn't going anywhere, I don't see why we'd put ourselves through the trouble of removing it. Morning, Pisces,' she said, nodding as our other sibling entered the room with her usual pretty glow over her.

'Oh, and before I forget,' I said, 'I think you might be copying my sleeping habits. I mean, I never heard you talk in your sleep before, but I'm pretty sure I was hearing voices last night.' 'Me too,' Pisces fell in, a slight frown on her forehead. 'I thought you only snored at night?' 'How am I supposed to know what I do at night? Just leave me and my sleeping habits alone, alright?' groaned Aries, moving past the both of us, as Pisces and I went back to our room.

'Do you think something's going on with her?' asked Pisces, still with the same frown on, but I yawned and shook my head. 'Nah, she's just pissed because it's the first day of school. Besides, it's Aries. What could she be hiding from us?'

'She has been acting a little... off, though, lately,' Pisces went on. 'Just... not like her.' 'I'm telling you, it's definitely school,' I responded, and opened the closet to take out our school uniforms. 'Oh, now I know. It's these things! Remember how she always hated wearing these?' 'Well, Aries certainly isn't the type to wear skirts,' my sister agreed, and she took her own uniform from my hands.

Yep, the principal of our school demands we were uniforms. Why? Because he's old and doesn't understand we all hate to wear the white blouses, the purple checked skirts along with the purple blazer. And yes, girls indeed had to wear skirts.

Stupid principal.

'Do you have all of your books? You don't want to piss off teachers on the very first day,' said Pisces worriedly, making me sigh as I turned her way. 'Yes, mum. You know, just because I'm the youngest doesn't mean I'm the most reckless, or clumsy, or whatever you think I am. I'm sixteen, not a baby.' 'I'll give you the reckless thing, but you definitely can act like a little child sometimes,' I heard her mutter, but I decided to let it go. After all, it was also her first day of school.

After the both of us had changed – and Pisces had reminded me of everything else I could forget – we went back to the living room, with the notice Aries hadn't moved at all. 'But we're supposed to leave in twenty minutes!' Pisces stated, a slight tone of panic in her voice, to which Aries and I reacted at the same time – and, surprisingly, with the same moves as well.

'You just go ahead. I'll catch up with you,' said Aries.

'We'll go ahead! You can catch up with us,' I laughed, at the same time my sister was stating the exact same words.

'Eh – I don't think – ' tried Pisces, but I'd already dragged her outside. 'No worries, she'll be on time. Besides, with twenty minutes on the clock, we'll even have time to gather everyone!' I told her with a smile, and softly pushed her over to the left side of the hall. 'Why don't you go and get Cancer and Mister Helpful, then I'll get Sag and Cap!' 'Wait a minute,' my sister responded, grabbing my arm to keep me from walking away, 'I thought you had your first hour off every Monday?'

'Wha–' I realized she was right – when Aqua and Libra handed out our schedules, Cap, Sag and I even cheered loudly because our class had the first period off every Monday! How could I've forgotten?

'I guess I'll just go and piss off both of them by waking them up early,' I sighed, and step for step I made my way over to the apartment next to us. 'I'll see you at school, Pisces!'

'See you as well, Gemstone,' I heard her say, and it was followed by the opening and closing of the door of apartment 24.

     Pisces' pov

I closed the door behind me, as I entered Virgo's apartment and silently made my way over to the living room. Had I ever been this early when going over to this place? Oh yes, many times, I answered myself, before I opened the next door and walked into the empty living room. Although, empty?'

'Morning, sweety,' Virgo smiled, pressing a kiss against my forehead when I turned around to face him. 'Let me guess, a certain Gemini woke you up?' 'Don't say that too loudly,' I mumbled, 'she might hear you and come over here to ruin even more of my morning.' He chuckled softly – something that always made me happy. Yes, it sounds cliché, but I loved hearing him laugh. It only happened so often, so I'd grown to adore it.

'Please tell me I don't have to go to school...' I muttered, while we went to sit down at the small table as Virgo handed me a cup of tea. 'School will be awful without seeing you in breaks.' 'Don't worry, sweety,' he said, smiling yet another time. 'Since I have absolutely nothing to do, I'll promise to walk along to school and pick you up every day.' 'You don't have to –' I already started, but I was cut off: 'But I will.'

The short moment of silence was nice; neither of us were fond of a lot of noise, which was why we usually stayed out of any kind of Chaos. And, because of the many people around, it never really was quiet around here. Just like now.

'Good morning!' Cancer's voice shouted through the hallway, and barely seconds later, she popped her head through the door with a smile. 'Hi, Virgo, Pisces! I figured you were here.'

'Shouldn't you be helping out Scorpio with... whatever you help him with?' I asked her, but she shook her head and walked into the room, her light brown bag swinging from side to side. 'No, Leo told me yesterday she'd make sure he had everything he needed. Although, I'm pretty sure he knows most of the things already, seeing how Aqua and Libra made it quite clear the other day.'

'You mean when you were supposed to help out Aquarius?' Virgo questioned, and Cancer started shaking her head slowly. 'Come on! I was trying to help out Scorpio! Besides, wasn't that what you wanted in the beginning? You know; when we all still thought this place would be torn down and Scorpio was the cause? You said I should be the one to help him. So, that's what I'm doing!'

'I didn't just want you to help him,' responded Virgo, at which Cancer frowned, but I chuckled. 'Oh, I see this one! You asked Cancer to help Scorpio, because you knew that, whatever would happen, Scorpio was facing something he needed help with. But it wasn't just about helping him, it was about making sure he had a friend!' I said, smiling, as Cancer stared at me with her mouth open.

'How did you – you know what, never mind. Your plans are too complex for a simple mind like me,' she muttered and after a "see you in five minutes downstairs!" she left off and I was left smiling proudly, both to myself and to my boyfriend.

'But I was right, wasn't I? You wanted Scorpio to have a friend so it would be easier for him to accept everything, right?' I asked, but all Virgo did was smile and take another sip of his tea. 'Pisces, sweety, I'm starting to think you're the first to finally find out the meaning behind my plans.'

Five minutes later, we walked down the eight stairs – after a couple of more visits from Gemstone, Aquarius and Sagittarius – and once we were down, we noticed everyone was already there, waiting for us. 'Come on guys, we can still turn around and just not show up,' Aries tried, but after Gem grabbed her arm and started pulling her towards the doors, she started walking along with us – grumbling, of course.

Orbis High wasn't too far away – in fact, we could all just walk. Sure, there was a rare occasion when we were late, and one of us was forced to go into the basement to get the bikes, but aside from that, we always walked. The route was easy: we walked past Cancer's Store – at which Cancer would always put up her hoodie to hide from the manager, whose office was right next to the window – you crossed the street, passed the little coffee shop/bookstore – yes, it was both – and after another short minute of walking, we stood in front of a huge building, with a horrible amount of stairs and at least a hundred different classrooms.

Everyone was talking during our walk – Aries was telling Taurus about the terrible teachers, Capricorn was making Gem and Sag laugh by making pretending to be his sister, while his actual sister was completely taken by the small coffee shop we just passed. 'Oh, I love this place! When Lee is busy, I usually go here to do my homework. They have the most amazing coffee and their books are amazing,' I heard Aqua tell Libra, who was carefully listening and nodding along her story. 'I'm telling you, darling, if I don't pass this year, it just might be the first time my mother will actually pay attention to anything I'm doing,' Leo stated somewhere next to me, but I wasn't really paying any attention to what or who she was talking to. I was more fixated on the fact we had, surprisingly fast, already reached the school.

Our school was formed by two building, which were connected to each other by an overhead tunnel. The left building was the biggest – and also the one which contained the cafeteria, the auditorium, the library and the computer labs. The other building was smaller, and only contained a couple of classrooms and the principal's office.

Virgo's hand squeezed mine in the quiet that rose, as the twelve of us stopped and stared at the large buildings, each in their prime, with on the first building the words "Orbis High".

'So,' said Aries, after what seemed like minutes of silence, 'I guess we go in and let our lives be destroyed once again.'
