Aquarius should've gone solo
Aquarius's POV
It was a long night. As Aries's thundering snore shakes the room, I roll on my bed, hoping it'd lull me to sleep, but to no avil. Every time when I close my eyes, I can hear Pisces's child-like voice whispering into my ear,
"I think you guys are pretty compatible! I'm going to set you and Libra up!"
Over and over again, the same speech keeps repeating itself in my head like a broken recorder. But with all honesty, a girl was offering to set me up with my crush. All of this feels unreal to me, like the first episode of an anime. I guess I can't blame myself for being excited. I try to picture myself with Libra, holding her soft, delicate hand as we walk among the ocean blue, enjoying each other's company. And Pisces watches us from behind, cheering at our successful date...
Okay, the last part is kinda creepy.
What if this would actually work? I don't know much about Pieces, but I do know she's Libra's best friend.
Not to mention, I'm no expert in love, maybe Pisces does know how to woo Libra! Yeah! Then I can actually date her without going to sleep!
...
What? A guy can dream. Don't judge me!
Libra Venus... She way out of my league. She's beautiful, she's kind and smart. Basically the goddess of this school. And here I am, a teen who sleeps in class and locks himself in the computer lab after school... just to watch the new episode of Attack of Titan Season 3.
Seriously though... That series is good!
Wait, what was I thinking about again?
Right, Pisces.
I know Pisces said she wants to pair us up, but why? Is it just because we look "cute" together? Or is she pitying me? I mean, girls wouldn't just randomly pair their best friend with a guy, right? RIGHT???
Maybe I can ask Scorpio tomorrow. I mean, she's a girl! Kind of...
Man, the more I think about it, the more I'm weirded out by this odd situation. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Pisces offered to help, but...
If this does work, I'd owe a big debt to her. And I'd have no idea how to repay her.
You know what? I'm a man! I am the cupid of my own love! I don't need Pisces's help!
I can woo Libra all by myself!

It is the day after the party. I dressed up into my favorite (and cleanest) shirt and jeans. A little classy but causal enough to fit my style.
If memory serves me right, she should have Greek as her first class this morning. Since my class is right next to hers, all I have to do is wait outside of my classroom and give her a warming "Hi!"
This would work! She'd be thinking, "Aww, Aquarius is so nice to me! I wish I'd have a boyfriend like that!"
Well, Libby. I will gladly volunteer as tribute.
"Hey, Aquarius? Hello??? Class is starting now! ... Jeez."
Clap! A pair of hands clash in front of my eyes, zapping me back into reality. I search for its owner, and it was none other than Aries's fallen love, Taurus.
Honestly, how they became a couple is beyond me.
"Dude, quit snickering and get into class! The bell has rung." Taurus' voice rings.
Almost everyone from my class has entered the classroom already. All except me and Taurus.
Did she say I was snickering? Oh boy, only Notch knows how weird it must have been...
Wait, does that mean Libra saw it, too!?
Hit by a wave of embarrassment, I silently nod and follow Taurus into class. Though ashamed, I ask "Hey! Uh, have you seen Libra earlier? When we're outside?"
"Libra Venus? Yeah, I saw her."
Well, great.
And she keeps going, "Man, you should've seen Pisces' face. It. Was. Gold."
"Pisces? Wait, aren't we talking about Lib-"
"Do know those WTF face memes? Yeah, like that. It was amazing!"
"And Libra?"
"Nothing much. She just gave you a look. Why you care so much about what she thinks, anyway? Something happened?"
Instincts tell me to object, but when push comes to shove, nothing comes out. Explaining would make it worse, anyway. I'll just brush it aside.
Morning's a bust, but I've still got the rest of the day to make it right. Yeah! Break time can do! I'll just pretend this morning never happened.
Pisces' POV
WHAT ON EARTH WAS AQUARIUS THINKING!?
That smile? I don't even know what was on his mind when he did that! Is it because of me? No- Probably not. But it could be. ARGH!
Is this the guy I'm going to pair Libra up with? I may have made a mistake...
No, Pisces! You said you're gonna help him, and you're not backing out!
Throughout the entire class, I can't concentrate. I haven't heard a thing from Aquarius since the last time we talked. It sure leaves you at the edge of the seat when people stay silent like that.
Sigh.
As my head spirals into a million thoughts, the bell rings just long enough for my hearing to catch it. Somehow, it was already break time. I follow Libra to the lockers so we could put our things away, and chat a bit before classes start again. If only Aquarius would show up...
"Hey."
I turn to the voice and all I could see is black.
It is Scorpio.
With a stone-cold look, she strides toward us, dragging someone else behind her.
What does she want?
"Aquarius wants to speak to you. Come on." Scorpio pulls Aquarius from her back and shoves him towards Libra, who's obviously unamused.
With a tone of doubt, she eyes Aquarius, "Can I help you?"
Aquarius, I swear, if this is how you're going to ask her out-
"You wanna hang out at lunch? I know a nice spot behind the building. Perhaps you and I could check it out later? Together? Yeah?"
A silent streak pierces through my head as I bury it into my palms. You cannot be serious...
"Don't worry, I won't be there." Scorpio adds impatiently, "If that would wipe that scowl off your face, Venus."
"Hey! This is none of your business, Scorpio!" I blurt,
"Neither is it yours, Fish."
Fish. It is as if someone shoved a spiked rock down my throat. How much do I want to argue back yet Scorpio's face is still unmoving. Her condescending gaze drills onto me, almost as if they have a weight of its own. Threatened, my conscious commend on its own, I stay quiet.
Just then, Libra breaks in between us, shielding me from Scorpio. "If that is your attitude to invite someone, I don't think so."
Scorpio snorts, "Don't put the spotlight on me, Princess. I'm just the messager."
A long pause. Libra's eyes fall onto Aquarius, who is just as helpless as I am in this situation. With a decisive turn, she looks at Scorpio again, "Then he picked the wrong person."
A strong grip lashes on my wrist and drags me away from the duo. Libra strides. Her face full of unsaid irritation and rage, as we distance ourselves from the lockers.
"Hi, um, Libra! Are you free later toda-"
"Sorry, not now."
"Isn't that the fourth guy today?"
"Yep."
