Kushi is always been a pampered princess doing her studies well. Her only relatives are her dad and grandma. She hasn't seen her mother, because she died giving birth to her. She only know, that her mom's name was Gayatri. She doesn't even know the facial features of her mom too, as she don't want her dad to be sad remembering her mother.

Her grandma was altogether a different story. She was her Frienemy, guide and philosopher. She was her mother's mother, but her grandma never likes to talk about her mother reason unknown and Kushi also never probed about it.

Her grandma at the age of 72 is still fit and fine and runs a well known bakery and confectionary store "Smileys" which she named after her name 19 years ago just because naughty Kushi always use to crawl into near by utensils and showers in the sugary syrup whenever she visits the store.

Kushi was her Grandma's and dad's pride, they never say no because they know, that how much ever naughty she may be she will never cross the boundary and land herself in trouble.

Her friends Preetha whom she call Preetho and her preetha's sister Geetha who just delivered a baby always support Kushi like a pillar. Preetha studies along with Kushi in same college but in different branch, she is designer while Kushi is preparing for CA. Geetha who was 5 years elder to Preetha was married to a soldier who died before a month of her delivery. Geetha held her high and received the medal. She was never sad because her husband was her pride, he died saving there country from enemies. Her little boy was the only thread to survive the cruel world without her loving husband support.

Another Guardian in the Kushi's checklist is her adopted brother Aman Mathur. Aman was just 12 when he was found by Kushi. His parents died in a fire accident and his relatives turned there faces, when asked to take care of him. He was crying in the mandir, his stomach was growling angrily as he was hungry since 2 days and was on verge of fainting. The little 4 year old, offered him her her jalebis and cried when she was about to leave him. Shashi who cannot see his Titiliya crying took the boy, bathed and washed .

The boy was never hungry again and has also got his father back in the form of shashi and also a little sister. He was the first boy to complete his studies in abroad in his street. He became inspiration to young guys. He was now working as General Manager in a well know AR group under the mighty ASR. He loves his sis to the core and was also a partner in the crime.

Guptha's the family of 4 was always a living example for the people. Everyone, even a two year old will say good things about Shashi. He was helpful, selfless and an ardent devotee too. People are always jealous of the way he handled his children without a mother. Shashi was a perfect example for the bestest father in the world. He was a friend, father, guide, mentor, mother to both his children.
