Chalo let's start my bakwas!

Karan Monami ke tent ke pas tha. He could hear sobbing sound from inside the tent. It ached his heart! He peeked inside. Looked like she was finding something rather something very special. Karan kuchh sochte hue seedha khada ho jata h nd ab uski back is facing the tent.
Suddenly, he saw Sid and Bala returning with a bag full of cup ice-creams. Karan saw this as a chance. He looked inside and Monami was still searching for that thing.
Sid aur Bala sbko as per what they wanted ice cream de dete h but they couldn't find Monu. Karan comes there.

Ks: Siddharth, Monami apne tent me hai. Tum uski icecream mujhe dedo me use de dunga (he said in a tone pleasing enough).
But Sid was shocked. He definitely didn't mind this but on this day, this date, his Monu bro isn't where everyone else is. He had a gut feeling she needed someone rn but here in his front Karan was asking him to give her icecream. Something was fishy... He sensed it.

Sid: Kyo kya hua Monu bro ko? (taking a quick 360° glance of the whole area to find her sitting somewhere or hugging a tree)
Kahin dikh bhi nhi rhi‽

He knew whenever she was not in the mood she used to hug trees to take out all her frustration but aaj ke din wo over sensitive ho jati h... Sid tries to not leave her alone this day but aaj he thought she would be okay bcoz she loves nature and bonfires! And ofcourse Sid ke sath rehkar now she also likes to chill out sometimes aur aaj to sab log masti hi kar rhe the! Ese me Monu kahin dikh nhi rhi.. Damn it!

Till Karan could say anything Sid panicked.

Sid: Sir kahan hai Monu pls tell me mein use aaj akela nhi chhod sakta pls Sir bataiye!!

Bala: Arey Sid Bhaiji ye lijiye ye pen aapne mujhe dediya tha... (pause) Wese ye to doctor madamke liye tha na.. kahan hain wo?

He looked at Sid then Karan. Sid took the pen and before he could ask Karan anything,
Ks: Wo apne tent me h! Me wahi se aa rha hu.

Sid sighed in relief. Still suspicious, thanking Karan, he was about to leave to her tent when Karan stopped him.

Ks: Siddharth ek minute! turning towards Bala) Bala tum jao ice cream khalo tum bhi!
Bala, though bit unconvinced agreed and went.

Sid: Sir kuchh hua h kya? (suspicious)
Ks: Ha.. I mean no.. I mean.. umm..

He was hesitating like hell! Never before he behaved like that. Sensing the situation,

Sid: Sir agar baat Monu se related h to pleasee bata dijiye.
His eyes reflected concern.

Ks: (ise batau ya nhi!‽) Siddharth wo actually kuchh MISUNDERSTANDING hogyi h shayad isliye Monami ka thoda.. I mean kafi mood off hogya to isliye I wanted ki tum uski chocolate ice cream mujhe dedo taki me use dedun. Shayad wo maan jaye! (Wese to me bhi nhi janta ki mujhe inta bura kyo lg rha h! Me kyu use manana chahta hun? Jo bhi ho galti meri hai to mujhe mafi to maangni hi hogi!)

Sid on hearing his best buddy's mood was off widened his eyes.
Sid: Sorry sir but kya me puchh sakta hu ki kya misunderstanding hui h? Don't get it wrong, me aap dono ke beech me nhi aana chahta but kya aapne phirse use rich hone par taunt mara?🤨

Karan shook his head on which Sid showed him his protective and angry expressions. He did had his own reasons for this prejudiced thougts, but does it mean he would misjudge such a sweet girl without knowing the background or her story? He came out of his trance with Sid's word.

Sid: You know what? You don't have any right to judge anyone on the basis of wo rich background se hai ya poor se! Yahan rich people bhi training le rhe h and middle class people bhi. BalaG Bro bhi training le rha h but he is not that rich. But tell me one thing aap training iss hisaab se to nhi dete na ki rich ko alag aur baki ko alag? Mere aur BalaG bro ke background alag h but we are sailing on the same boat, same training same timing same trainers! Humari performance bhi same h.
I respect you isliye aajtak mene kuchh bola nhi. Aaj bhi jo mene bola I'm sorry but not sorry! Aap jise 'papa ki pari' bulate hai na sir, wo walnut meri angel Monu ke papa kehlane ke layak nhi h! He doesn't deserve her! Father nhi puppet master hai wo😒

Agar aapko apni galti sudharni hai na to hi uski icecream lijiyega warna me ja rha hun.

All this while Karan's expression changes from guilty to shocked to disgusted and lastly hopeful. He nodded at Sid and took the icecream cup from his hand. It was melted a bit. But what shocked him was that it was butterscotch! This man - though never showed but was interested in Monu 😏
So usne ek baar Monu ke hi muh se suna tha that she loves chocolate and the flavour. Sid mocked her saying "Ha pata h pata h! Tera bas chale to mud bath ki bajaye chocolate bath lelegi!" "Sid you mad or what!?" She said hitting playfully on his shoulder. Karan shook head at these two and went towards his dorm thinking "In ameerzadon ko mud bath ke baare me pata hai‽"
Yeah he expected chocolate icecream. Seeing his confused expression Sid somewhat understood.

Sid: Aaj ke din wo butterscotch flavour hi khati h. (pause) Now you should GO!
Karan turned and left to Monu's tent thinking what this day was SPECIAL about.
{Sid hadn't given him the pen but asked him to inform Monu ki Sid khud wo pen use dedega baad me.}
As soon as he saw Karan stopped near her tent, he let out a sigh and went towards the gathering still praying her mood to be happy again.
After the outburst, the guilt in Karan's eye wasn't unnoticed by Sid. He knew ki Karan isn't a sweet guy but he also wasn't a bad guy! He trusted his Monu bro's choice!

Till now, Monami had found what she was searching for - a photo frame. Yes!
Karan couldn't actually see the picture but use samajh aagya tha that it was someone very close to Rani Sahiba as she was crying her heart out while talking to that photo frame almost hidden in her embrace. When Karan and Sid were out there, Monami found her mother's photo frame she was searching for. She just hugged it as if her whole world was in that picture and why not!?
A mother's love is precious! She was saying "I miss you... mumma! I miss you a lot! I.. miss you." when Karan came near her tent. Unfortunately but fortunately he heard her.
She continued sobbing and crying murmuring "I miss you".

Catching her breath, she pulled away the frame from her heart to see the beautiful face of her mother but its hook got stuck with the necklace she was wearing.. The necklace with the name JUHI. Monami smiled a bit b/w her tears.

"LIEUTENANT GENERAL DR. JUHI MAHAJAN!"

- escaped her mouth whlie her eyes sparkled with a short lived happiness and everlasting pride. Karan was shocked for an minute. Monami took out her necklace of the hook and held it in a way the cardboard at the back of the frame was visible. Karan's eyes landed on the blood spots on it. It was because of the cut Monami got because of the nail.

Mo: (still sobbing but smiling) Pata hai Mumma? I AM VERY PROUD OF YOU! I know apse me ye har baar bolti hu but aap bolte the na "Ek fauji ki life tab safal hoti hai jab wo desh ke liye shahid hota hai!" Aapko yaad hai na me aapke har birthday par aapke favourite butterscotch flavour wali koi dish khati hun and gift bhi leti hu! Aaj mene Sid se xyz company wale pen bhi mangwaye h. I doubt itni raat ko shayad pen na mile wo wala to wo abc ka le aayega. Par mujhe lagta h wo kahin se bhi dhunkr xyz wala hi layega.. chuckles.. Aapko wo pen bhot pasand the na! Aur dekho har baar ki tarah mene aapka ye necklace bhi pehna hai... taking her necklace in hand and showing it to the frame
Pata hai ye recently tut gya tha aur Sid humari academic class bunk karke mujhe bina bataye ise thik kara laya. Idiot! Mujhe tension hogyi thi thodi.. phir pata chala us pagal ko kuchh nhi hua tha bs bunk mara. Mujhe acha ni laga ki usne apni class miss ki but as always mene use samjha diya tha🤭 Aur phir use Sanju se daat bhi padi thi😂😆 she chuckled
But usne mujhe aaj bataya ki asal me uss din wo ye necklace thik karane gya tha. she paused... Jitna bhi bada kameena h wo caring hai, mera BEST friend h.. aur humesha rhega...

Karan understood how he always misunderstood these two... Seeing her smiling his lips automatically curved into a smile.
Now Karan was connecting the dots. Her wearing another necklace, instead of chocolate flavour, her wanting butterscotch ice-cream and that pen Siddharth was talking about - it was her martyred mother's birthday - and this was SPECIAL about today! He knows the pain when someone very close to you is very far from you. He just lowered his gaze with moist eyes.
KARAN v/s GUILT = 0:3

Monami was just smiling thinking about Sid, when her dried tear marks again got wet as tears continued flowing vanishing her smile. Karan noticed this change and he guessed right. Usse aaj Karan ne jo bhi kaha tha sab yaad aagya tha.

Mo: (sighed and wiped tears) Mumma kya me sach me buri hoon? Sach me 'good-for-nothing' hoon? I know aap hote to mana karte.. I just wish me aapki lap me sar rakhkar apne sare pain bhul jau.. aapko kass ke hug karun aur sare allegations ko ignore karun... sigh.. Papa ka to aapko pata hi h, aapke baad meri life unhone hi to control ki h... me kya karungi kisse baat karungi kya professsion choose karungi sab unhone hi decide kiya h... Yaad h jab mene aapko bataya tha ki mene Papa se behes karke Parakram S.A.F. join krliya tab me kitni khus thi... Lekin Papa ko abhi bhi lagta hai ki yeh mera passion nhi balki time pass hai... Aur us Khadoos Shergill ko bhi... Wo to humesha mujhe aur Sid ko "rich spoilt privileged kids" bolta h nd indeed maanta bhi h aur kehta h ki hum yaha adventure krne aaye h... Aaj pata h usne meri taarif ki aur I thought humari sari misunderstandings khatam ho gyi h but nhi.. wo abhi bhi mere bare me wahi opinions rakhta h... Pata h I trust him.. or should I rather say I like him.. jabse usne us hospital me meri jaan bachayi.. par shayad me jinpar bhi trust krti hu usme se maximum log to mujhe hi galat samjhte hain.. I know wo Sadu andar se bhot acha h, us khadoos si shakal ke peeche ek dil h, jo dhadakta bhi hai. Usme bhot pain h... I wish ki kisi din wo bhi mujhpar trust kar paye, humare beech ki misunderstandings dur ho aur wo apna dard mujhse share kar paye...

She was looking at anything but nothing while speaking all this, wiping the few tear drops that made their way at intervals. Karan was just dumbstruck and in aww, and ofcourse full of guilt.

He was just thinking after all this how simply she just forgot about herself, her mental turmoil and ended up at him. And what deeply shaked him was that "SHE LIKES HIM"! He couldn't believe his ears. Usse shock isse nhi laga ki 'SHE' likes him, but she likes 'HIM'! Ese Khadoos ko bhi koi pasand karega? This girl is just out of his reach... Emotions and kindness ke matter me jahan KS ki soch khatam hoti h Monami ki start hoti h. A gem of Person she is! His trance broke as she spoke.

Mo: (while wiping tear drop) she looked at the frame.. Lekin iske liye use baat karni hogi, jo feel krta h express karna padega.
"Jitna zyada strength it takes to make a brave face, usse kai zyada strength is needed to be vulnerable. Our truth can be one of the most difficult things to put out there." I know wo khadoos ban gya h uske bhai ke jane ke baad se... Jo uske mann me h bahar asani se nhi aane deta.. Apne emotions ko bahar na aane dena, it takes a lot of strength. But agar wahi emotions aapko andar hi andar kha jaye, ye konsi bravery hui Maa?
Ek promise doon? Apne birthday tak me Karan se pakka uske mann ki baat nikalwaungi.. Because wo ye deserve krta h.. khulkar jeena... SOLDIERS' PROMISE!

She said all this with so much determination and compassion reflecting in her eyes and with a slight smile that it literally made a tear or two flow from Karan's eyes who has been listening to all this. He wiped the tears and promised to himself ki jo ladki uske itna bura bhala bolne ke baad bhi use pasand karti h aur uske liye itne efforts kar rhi h, usko wo kabhi udas na hone dene ki koshish krega par filhaal uska mood uplift krne ke liye use kuchh sochna tha.

*Meanwhile Le Ice-cream: Excuse me, brother! Brother idhar!

Sid aur Faizi bonfire ke pas bethe the but dono ki nazar Karan par hi thi, both were worried for their respective best friends. When they saw him wiping his tears, more than Sid, Faizi was shocked (or should I say deeply shocked😳) Sid never expected wo Mogambo rota bhi hoga and as for Faizi, he had seen him crying many time but without tears, he had always cried silently but aaj he was literally crying after Param Bhaiya's death. "Sach me Monami, tum Tsunami bankar humare janaab ji ki zindagi mein aayi ho. Aur hum Allah se ye dua karenge ki tum uski zindagi me humesha raho".

So Monami ne wo bolkar apni mumma ki photo frame ko gale laga liya and shed few more tears... Suddenly she heard something, rather someone trying to gain her attention by clearing throat. She turned towards the sound and saw Karan. Immediately she turned towards the opposite side... Karan sighed looking down, mustered up courage and then spoke.

Ks: Monami sorry but men tumhari baatein sunli... paused (Monami turned to him with a jerk)... Wo actually me tumhe ye ice cream dene aaya tha aur mene tumhari akhiri wali baat sunli.. (yeah he lied)... Mujhe tumse... Umm.. kuchh kehna h...

Monami was firstly shocked with his sweet tone. Then him bringing ice cream for her! She somehow felt something fishy.. seeing him waiting for a reply,

Mo: Me mana karungi to bhi tum bologe hi to boldo (maintaining her position and coldness in the moist eyes)

Ks: Tum mana karogi to puri baat nhi bolunga... But jo zaroori h wo bolunga.
Monu was shocked at his behaviour. Did he just took her sarcasm serious? Truely, he is a gentleman!

Mo: Uhmm.. bolo! her eyes no more showed coldness. she kept aside the frame she was till now holding, and removed the things (which she kept while searching for the photo frame) from the chair in her front indicating him to sit.

Ks: (smiled and sat there) Char Baatein!
She immediately raised her fingers which made him chuckle a bit giving yet another shock to her.
Ks: PEHLI, (Mo raised one finger) I am sorry! I am sorry Rani Sa... Monami. Mene tumhe judge nhi MISJUDGE krliya. I misunderstood you. You definitely are a rich kid but not spoilt one. I know I have done a great mistake but isse pehle kabhi itna.. itna bura nhi laga... You're special, Monami! Aaj se pehle kabhi kisi se maafi maange ka mann nhi kiya... sighs
DUSRI, (raised second finger) I will make sure ki tumhara Soldiers' Promise na tute.

Monami looked at him shocked. Gradually her charming hazel brown eyes got accopanied with a sweet smile. Karan also smiled seeing that.

Ks: TEESRI baat, (raised third finger) this necklace suits you... Siddharth ne btaya tumhari mom ke baare me.. Her name is Juhi aur unka birthday hai isliye tumne aaj subah se yeah pehna hai na? I noticed it.. but you know I don't know how to compliment😅

Mo: Did he really notice this necklace? Khadoos Shergill tumhari ye baat is making me fall for you more... (nodded) Thanks... (she raised four fingers) Aur chauthi?

Ks: looked at her Ye ice cream bechari melt ho ke flavoured milk ban gyi... Lo khalo.. I mean peelo!
This made her laugh and she happily took the ice cream and opened it.. To her luck vo semi solid ho gyi thi but purely liquid nhi.. she licked one spoon ice cream and then looked at her Khadoos who was already looking at her with a slight smile and contentment in his eyes.

Mo: Khadoos Shergill, tumhari to hogyi ab meri baari. she said taking another bite of the ice cream. CHAAR BAATEIN! and HE raised his fingers jese she always does, she kept her ice cream at side.
PEHLI, I accept your apology. Karan smiled a genuine smile.
DUSRI, thank you! Karan nodded with a constant smile.
TEESRI, bhale hi you think you don't know how to compliment, you atleast tried na!? Aur wese bhi, it's the emotions that matter!
He looked up into her eyes and just kept looking intensly.

Ks: Thank you Monami, mujhe samajhne ke liye! She nodded. Umm... aur chauti baat?
Monami picked up the ice cream.

Mo: CHAUTHI BAAT? ate another spoon ice cream.. Hmm.. to chauthi baat yeh ki (took ice cream in the spoon and put it in his mouth) ice-cream khane se ya hasne se tumhara Khadoos avatar khatam ni ho jayega... So you can! You should! Atleast mere saamne to has hi sakte ho aur ice cream bhi kha sakte ho(she said putting another spoon of it in his mouth)

He smiled widely while chuckling..

Mo: Hasne ko kaha tha chuckle karne ko nhi.. Chalo mere pas ek idea h.. I know ye idea kaam nhi krega tumpar but still...
Saying so she kept aside the ice cream that had completely melted till now and started tickling him while he started laughing whole heartedly, not because of tickling, but because of her antics and constant attempts to break his shell he had developed during the past few years. After a minute of tickling session, he stopped her and let out a sigh followed by him shaking his head and chuckling while she giggled. He stopped chuckling and a smile again was formed on his face.

Ks: DO BAATEIN Monami! She immediately raised her fingers
PEHLI BAAT, tumhare aankhon me aanson ache nhi lgte.. she looked at him Jab hasti ho, tab aur bhi zyada achi lagti ho!
She just kept looking into his deep eyes and then looked down smiling.. or better, blushing. He smiled seeing her.

Ks: DOOSRI BAAT! she jerked and raised two fingers. he let out a silent chuckle. Jaldi ice cream khalo... Umm I mean peelo aur bahar aajao. Hum sab bahar hain aur haa Siddharth ne kaha tha ki wo pen tumhe khud de dega... Okay‽

Mo: Yes Sir! (stern voice)
Both chuckled.

She continued having her icecream and Karan got up and touched the photo frame with respect, which was unnoticed by Monami, as if taking her mother's blessings. He started leaving but he turned and came back to her while she was engrossed in her ice cream. He smiled. Kept his right hand on her left cheek and before she could realise his lips started coming closer to her forehead. He kissed her hair affectionately and left leaving a shocked Monami behind.❣
As soon as both digested what happened few seconds ago, they started blushing! Or should I say apne friends se tease hone ki taiyari kar rhe the😜

Tadaa!! Fewh this was a looooong one!

It aches me how the 'MoRan' journey started with ~Kiston... & here it is today with ~Mann Bharya and ~Humari Adhuri Kahani in the background...
Life's a cycle right? I wish ki jo journey Kiston se start hui wahi par end ho na ki Mann Bharya par...

Jab Karan apne suspension ke gusse me boxing kar rha tha tab Monami uske peeche thi... Kash jab Monami boxing kar rhi thi to asli wala Karan Shergill bhi uske peeche hota...!
